Jobs/Vacancies › Re: How Did You Land Your Foreign Job? by SmartyPants(m):
Nature129:
Hello, Nairalanders!

Nowadays, it's not uncommon to see Nigerians with digital skills sign up on freelance platforms where they meet foreign companies to work for one and earn in USD. These digital skills include writing, digital marketing, affiliate marketing, software development, website development, online consultancy, etc.

However, these freelance marketplaces are increasingly becoming saturated, making it extremely difficult to land freelance projects.

Some of us were fortunate to earn some good money when things were better and have tried to use the opportunity to switch to a full-time remote role but it has been extremely difficult.

Have you been fortunate enough to get a full-time remote role from Nigeria? If so, how did you do it? What tricks worked for you? Please share them with us.
There's no trick to it.

1. You have to be extremely good at what you do. Not just good by Nigerian standards but by global standards.

2. You have to be a good culture fit. Can you talk and easily blend in with people of other cultures?

The rest is basic.

That guy did not do well at all. He started the nonsense. 80k out of 800k is 10% of your salary which is supposed to be your tithe but you choose woman over God. Now she wants more. Kick her off. She is a dead weight liability.
How are you so sure he doesn't also pay his tithe? The way people build arguments out of complete assumptions is astounding!

Foreign Affairs › Re: Hamas Names Yahya Sinwar As New Overall Leader by SmartyPants(m): 7:31am On Aug 07, 2024
FreeStuffsNG:
The council voted unanimously to choose Sinwar, in what one Hamas official described to the BBC as “a message of defiance to Israel”.
“They killed Haniyeh, the flexible person who was open to solutions. Now they have to deal with Sinwar and the military leadership,” the official said.

Hamas, little army of few thousands, took on a formidable Isreal Defence Force backed by US, UK, France, Germany and other western countries some used tothink are invincible.
For almost a year, Hamas is not relenting , still fired rockets into Askelon, Isreal few hours ago and the war keeps expanding and dragging intoa wider conflict. This would have been thought impossible by this time last year. Those who know how to start war should learn from this.

PM Netanyahu thought it would take days but has learnt now that it's not a walk in the park. No part of Isreal and Palestine is safe since the war started.

Please let both sides sheathe their swords 🙏
Check my signature for free stuffs!
That's an obvious lie. It was always stated that it would take time - and the reasons are obvious. Hamas hides within a civilian population making direct conflict nearly impossible without an unacceptable cost in collateral damage. Unfortunately for innocent civilians, Israel is ready to incur that cost.

Israel's war on Gaza militants will be "long and difficult", Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Saturday as Hamas demanded the release of all Palestinian prisoners in exchange for the hostages it seized three weeks ago.

You request for extension with an affidavit that you are unemployed. It is different from claiming that the money will not be recovered untill you start working. That's a blatant lie. Approving your request is still at the discretion of the Fund. Dummy

So why are you arguing on what you don't know. The process of recovery is to start after two years post NYSC but the beneficiary has to request for extension and swear an affidavit that he is not employed in any form or manner
Are you dull? You don't know what NELFUND Guidelines are? I just showed you evidence from three impeccable sources, and you asking me why I am arguing on what I don't know? And then you still sent further evidence saying exactly what I just said - i.e that if unemployed you do not pay! is it relevant whether you need to swear an affidavit or not? all that matters is that what i said, being that the unemployed do not pay is the factual situation. Of which you certainly can't quote the Section you are supposedly relying on either.

Quote it
I don't have access to the new Act, as it is not yet in the public domain, however, it is well-established that it is indeed covered there (in all the same places you got your own information from):

https://lawpavilion.com/blog/the-student-loan-access-to-higher-education-act-2024/

You can also see Section 6.2 of the NELFUND Guidelines, which says essentially the same thing as Section 22(2)(3) of the Old Act, i.e: that payments are to be deducted by employers, and in the case of the self-employed, should be collected from no more than 10% of their profits.

Unfortunately, what can 20k do for the students in a month? Indomie alone is 15k per carton now. Won't the student transport himself to school? What about other needs of the student? This is more like blowing air into the eyes of a blind man. It makes no difference!!

And the students will be expected to start paying back two years after they complete their NYSC. Talk about double wahala for dead body.
The amount they are to pay back monthly is very small. Furthermore it only applies if you have a job.

It's obviously not simply her having a manly appearance. She's much stronger and has more explosive power as your write up shows.

There are bad apples everywhere. And it's just common sense to observe that if the majority of Yorubas indeed thought that way south easterners would be able to live in peace in the southwest, as many do indeed.

There are some English phrases you should avoid even though they are correct.
If they don't make sense to you, sure avoid them. But English is not your language so if you don't understand the nuances of an expression its best to seek an education about it rather than retreating to a shallow dogmatic position. In this case, friend is used as the opposite of enemy, and is an easy way for soldiers to communicate that the source of fire came from within their ranks - from a friend, as it were. It does not mean the firing is welcome or to be entertained.

This 👆🏼 is the tribalism card.

Are they telling us there are no miscreants in their state or land that could decide to use a peaceful protest to cause anarchy? So any miscreant that decides to cause chaos on the day of protest is a ''NON STATE ACTOR''.

They love to use this card against Nigerians because they know how effective it is.
Non State actors means persons or groups not acting under the authority of the government. State actors are the army and police for example. Non state actors are persons and groups like Sunday Igboho or IPOB.
