Drella: So I bought a Cafini inverter that can be charged with solar panels and also AC power. It has radio, led light and 12V 5W bulbs(4 bulbs) The panel is 18V 30W(1 panel). The inverter output is 220V 150W. The battery capacity is 12V 12AH Lead-acid battery.
I started using it by plugging my laptop(65W) to it. Within 40 minutes, it ran down from 100 to 0.
You don't have an inverter yet. Please get more money and do a serious thing. Inverter is serious business and cost millions. I unplugged the laptop and plugged my power bank to it. I also plugged one of its bulbs to it. It finally died after a little over 2hrs of it being on 0.
I charged it with AC power and plugged my OX fan(95W) to it alone. The fan was struggling on level 1 and was making sound, I had to disconnect it.
The seller said that’s the capacity of the battery and it is normal. If I wan’t it to last a longer duration, I should buy a external battery of a higher capacity.
Please with what I observed, is the draining normal? The battery percentage was draining by just switching on the inverter and not plugging anything to it.
jmoore: Spending 70 million naira to build a 2 story building 3 bedroom flats.
Put the rent at 350,000 naira per year for each flat in a location like Aba, it will take you more than 33 years to breakeven.
House for rent as an investment is what your children will enjoy, not you.
Use your spare money to build if you have excess cash.
If you have 80 million naira in your account as a young man, don't use it to build that story building. Reinvest it in your business that gave you that 80 million naira.
You can buy land, but don't build until you have at least times 3-4 of the building budget in your account.
I invested some money in a shop a year ago. I know that the investment is worth more than twice the amount after one year due to increase in price Same applies to real estate. Things have doubled.

You are absolutely wrong. 3 bedroom flat like the one posted here goes for nothing less than 1, 2m in many locations in Nigeria Number 2, the cost of rent at the rate it's going maybe 10m a year if care is not taken. So I expect the initial investment to be gotten back in less than ten years.
Trippleblessing: I don't use any other thing on the inverter except lights, 1 tv and the fans. Most the bulbs used are inverter friendly. The inverter uses 2 batteries as well. I felt something is wrong sha
The problem is the fan eats your battery. Use one preferably rechargeable standing fan and you would see the difference. You can use swing function. If you must use a ceiling fan, use solar ceiling fan.
Trippleblessing: Please can someone help me. I do not know what's wrong with my inverter. It can not power 2 ceiling fans over the night without it going off. At first I thought the battery is down so the water was refilled, yet the issue continued. Just overnight today, only 1 fan was on, yet it went off again. We use 4 solar panel with it
You can't on two ceiling fans overnight. Try and use one rechargeable standing fan instead. 4 solar panel is too small to charge too .
What is flat tummy? Anyway, the ladies got what they deserved, because we keep telling them to leave the tummy as it is, but they go to gym almost everyday by force.
Glimpsetv: Men, Always Be Sure Before Going Public: Lady Rejects Boyfriend's Proposal in Public.
This seems to keep happening, yet men don't seem to learn from the mistakes of others. We've seen topics like this on platforms like Nairaland time and again, and I believe men should reconsider public proposals.
If you must propose publicly, it’s better to do so in front of a few close friends or family members—people who won't embarrass you if she says no, and who won’t let the moment go viral, as happened with this young man:
A young man was left stunned when his girlfriend refused to accept his ring after he went down on one knee to propose in public.
Surrounded by a crowd, he hoped for a yes, but she declined the proposal for reasons known only to her. Despite the onlookers cheering and urging her to say yes, she firmly said no. In disbelief, the man removed his sunglasses to look directly at her, but it didn’t change her decision.
Men, always be sure she is likely to say yes before proposing in public. This will help avoid rejection and the kind of public embarrassment this man experienced.
When someone is going places, no one can stop the person. Funnily enough while in Nigeria, she did not represent the West or the East as expected from her two names but Taraba state. Who God has blessed, no one can curse. May we all be privileged to have God's Favour in all that we do.
Patriotic9ja: 24hrs power 🔋 💪. Band AA. I left national "greed". Fully off grid using solar system. I generate over 80kw per day from my solar system. Sometimes it's even in excess. Na to start selling to my neighbours now remain
How do you calculate the kw generated. I also have 24 hours power supply 6.2kw hybrid inverter.
Nazgul: I don't know if it's just me. But since that fist grid collapse last week, Power supply in my area in Kosofe Local Government has dropped drastically.
Yesterday we just had light for less than 2 hours and as I'm typing this, we still don't have light.
So how's power supply in your area, has it improved or has it gotten worse.
No light in Bayelsa state for almost four months none stop.
beesan: Please solar gurus should help out, I have a 1.5 inverter and for I don't have money for batteries, please how many panels can I get to power at least my TV, freezer and phone charge
It depends on if you are depending solely on Solar or you have power from the national grid (public power supply) also if you want the batteries to last some hours or for 24 hours. Most importantly, the number of panels depends on the number of watts. For example two 530 watts total of 1060 watts is better than five 200 watts total of 1000 watts
FreeStuffsNG: Pride and anger can ruin in a second what you have labored for in years. Smh.
I understand the gravity of his mistake but let us please temper justice with mercy since he has apologized and shown remorse. He is a relatively young guy and will learn a serous lesson from this his misadventure and misbehavior.
What is the punishment for a poor person with similar behavior? What is good for the geese is good for the gander. I pray that his victim(s) will find it in their hearts to forgive him. Sincerely, it's a very difficult place to be when you have ever experienced the humiliation and injustice similar to what that Bolt guy suffered in his hands and the mere thought that others may have suffered same or even worse form of injustice from him but got no justice.
I hope many others have learnt from how pride and arrogance brought this young man down and will not boast about in their wisdom, might and riches.
lanre316: 100k fuel per month is wastage. What happened to solar power. Buy once and save money in the future.
If you are a wasteful person no amount of salary will be enough. I know someone living in Abuja earning 1.3m still always complaining about money. And there are people in the same Abuja living okay with far far less.
Nigerians needs money management skills instead of complaining all the time. Bad economy requires a lot sense to cope with it.
I don't complain and I do have money management skills but the most important thing is to have more money and save more money.

I have solar. I stay in Bayelsa state with no power for three months. The solar can't last twenty four hours and can't carry everything. I know how many millions I have spent on it. So I still need two to four hours generator power to assist me.
ruggedtimi: How many persons dey earn more than 500k
It's not the salary that matters only, it's how much extra money you make. You can earn 500 and get extra 1m monthly legitimately. That's what matters. When I was teaching 13 years ago, my salary was 20k, I do earn around 80k on home lessons. That's good income.
wirinet: It's not misleading. That's the reality of the Nigerian economy today. A family earning less than N500k (which is less than $300) per month is considered poor by today's economic matrix. Except you have no children or other defendants, live in a single bedroom apartment in a poor neighbourhood, eat very poor quality food, no vehicle or generator, etc., you quality of life would be quite low. When you consider the average cost of feeding an average family of 5, paying house rent for 2 bedroom flat in a fairly good neighbourhood, paying school fees for 2 or 3 children quarterly, paying for band A electricity or running a generator a few hours a day, maintaining just one vehicle, transporting to and fro from work or business, you will realise that 500k per month would not just be ebough.
Fuel for vehicle alone if where you stay is not far is around 150k a month, fuel for generator can go as much as 100k a month so below 1m is very poor.
Someone who spends above 1m monthly on recurrent expenditures not capital expenditures is poor, because he struggles to pay all the other expenses and misses some.
ChinemeremFidel: The one I have currently is a big blessing..I am so happy...She assists me..we are both into tech As a matter of fact, when job comes in she delivers more than I do and we split the funds into half which from her own she will stock up the kitchen... Very respectful Obedient Beautiful Calm Wise A good cook Very skillful She also run her YouTube channel...I can't comprehend this angel in human form
Such a lady is hard to find, just quickly do the needful.
IyaTola: Their type are "Chop life today tomorrow no sure".
If one wants to have a savings culture start from small monthly. I started 12 years ago and today, my target is to save minimum of 40 times my savings then. Or more than 60 times if possible.
jayce232: The person u quoted stated he earns 30k, u are still saying he can save 5k to 10k from it monthly? Have u been to the market recently? I went to market today, I spent 15k on just tomatoes, fish & sweet potatoes. I have only 100 naira left of the 15k. Let's be realistic with our projections pls. Things are crazily expensive out there.
He can save 5 or 10k from 30k salary. It's the willingness that matters.
Pentagon007: I am currently doing all that you said. My net salary is around 300k. At the end of every month i try to save upto 200k. I must say its quite difficult but the trick is that i do the saving FIRST, then use whatever that remains for my expenses. I intend to save a reasonable amount then i learn a trade and go into business.
My MIL just warned me to restock in large quantities to cover as much as February.
Indomitable was 7500 last month and 8500 today. Spaghetti was 19k last month and now 22k last week. Dano 12g was 15k last month and now 16k Lactogen was 6000 last month and I bought a carton 76k at 6300 last week. Good mama liquid wash was 2k last month now 2500. Milo was 27k in June but I bought it 32k last month. The list is endless.
If I had bought Lactogen in January when it was 4500, I wouldn't be crying today.
Bulk buying spreads the cost on quantity purchased and you get to bargain for a discount. It's cost saving to a reasonable extent.
AfahaAbia: There is no formula in all this you said up there. You can save millions today, a terrible emergency can take it all tomorrow. For me with over 15 years experience working I would advise any young person today not to focus on savings alone but to invest as much as possible from your 20s and beyond. Try to also keep money in your pension account(another way of investing for retirement)even if you have contributions made by your employer already. I personally have over 100million naira(which will still increase as time goes on)in my pension account which I can not access till I'm in my 50s.. All im saying is thàt invest more than save.
Good advice. You are obviously earning above a million monthly.
ChinemeremFidel: On that aspect of girlfriends not everyone is that unfortunate to meet girls that would ruin them. Forget this talks of no good girl, there are good girls out there...They would support you to the core...
He spoke about plural, not one. The point is to stick to one good one you intend to marry so the money given to her becomes an investment in your family and not a gift to someone that the relationship would end.
diamond68: So I try to check my balance everyday because you cannot trust these banks. This one that zenith has refused to send alerts for over one month.
