Silentgroper: 100k. .. they must be stupid ... If na 5m be pesin go understand but 100k?? .. that's stupid ...
If na gtb be the bank, I'd say it's because you're using a student acct which is still stupid btw,...
Stop using foul/derogatory language. By Nigerian law, if you receive any amount above 50k at once or 300k cumulative, and your account was opened as a small account with low KYC, you need to upgrade with proper documentation. The bank did the right thing. He didn't politely ask for other alternatives apart from NEPA bill. If you go to the bank and you are trying to form right, you may not be educated on other ways to fix the issue and perhaps done instantly.
Proudman1: So, I received a good amount of money into my first bank account.
And they automatically freeze the account.
Something less than 100k.
So, I went to the bank to find out what the issue was about and they said I need to do KYC documentation.
My NIN and BVN are already with this people and I've been using this same account since 2015!
Ok, let me do the KYC na, they say my name doesn't match and I need to swear affidavit.
I went to court to do affidavit and then they submitted it and ask me to come back next week Wednesday.
The thing sha weak me because I no get any money to sustain myself till that Wednesday.
But the worst is the utility bill requirements. The support ask me to come with NEPA bill. I told her that I stay in the university hostel.
The next thing she said was that I should go to the university management and collect their NEPA bill and bring it to them
I was like how in hell will that be possible? 🤷
Right now, I don't know what step to take sha. Because who for school management go gree give student school NEPA bill to go complete the student's bank account?
You are not ready yet. You could have politely asked her how you can go about the NEPA bill and they would suggest other alternatives. You are not the only student in your hostel that have such issue and they were resolved in other ways without requesting for NEPA bill.
ProjectsCityNG: My dear you don't know market people. I have seen uneducated persons collect up to fifty million before my very eyes. Go and read your books for JAMB
ProjectsCityNG: Tomorrow she sets up a cooperative and take up all your customers. Couldn't leniency and tact have been applied?
What kind of cooperative? What kind of customers? No serious person with a million naira or thereabouts would put his money outside regular banks. Even fintech is used as transit for money and not to keep overnight or for several days at a time.
Light78: Why can't they purchase solar panels and batteries? Why waste so much on fuel?
I'm talking about those who need electricity to run their business.
For businesses, like mine, during the rainy season which we are entering, solar alone can't get it done. Generator is a must. Why? No light for over two weeks or a month. It's crazy living in Nigeria.
seborrhic: Of course the criminal doesn't even understand the implications of what he just said. A police officer able to start a business with ₦56m,while even still in the police force! All police personnel salary is known. So even without spending a dime of his salary, how did he come about ₦56m? He even said it proudly showing he doesn't even have a damn clue the meaning and implications of what he said. Real comedy this country is.
I don't doubt that he could have such an amount. Military people go over a year without touching their salary. The issue is that, it's impossible for that amount to become over 20billion in six years.
EKONGKING: Why do we not hear these type of accidents in other African countries.
Why only in Nigeria these happen monthly
Over population. Such happens in over populated countries with much vehicles and serious traffic. You can't compare Lagos traffic etc with a state like Bayelsa with no traffic any day, any time.
Sheuns: A child shouldn’t be in school until age 3-5.
All of you people saying this, it is because you don't have kids. I enrolled my twin in school so that the mother can rest for at least five hours or more during the day. Kids are big work and would drain all your energy. That's why whenever you go out and see someone willing to carry them for you, you give them out quickly so you can rest a little.
gr8dom: I suspect lies here. With that fees, to print on an A4 paper shouldn't be difficult.
Oga, that's a blue colored print out. Such companies still cut costs. No body use full a4 paper today to print what they can print on small pieces of paper.
Trevor125: Please is abortion a very terrible sin?? Someone daughter is pregnant, but I'm not sure if the pregnancy is mine....🤔🤔🤔🤔😕i have been having sleepless nights.. 😭😭💔
I don't want to be a father yet😭😭😭😭, the country is very tough nd frustrating..can 2 months pregnancy be terminated??
She's older than me, I don't wanna start this journey; I'm too young for this.. I wanted to chop nd clean mouth but it has hooked me.. Bleep up.😭😭😭😭
Killing an unborn child is as bad as killing an adult.
Raskimonojendor: They don't need to catch everybody. They just need one or two scape goat that's all. A few celebrities or so called influencers will help pass the message effectively.
That's the point. People would stop making us look poor because they have ill gotten wealth and are ready to pay any amount to spray it
NairaOcean: A young woman lost her life in a shocking incident of envy that turned deadly. On the joyful occasion of the grand opening of her beauty parlor, a celebration with close friends took a sinister turn when one of them allegedly poisoned her.
The victim, had been eagerly preparing for the opening of her dream beauty parlor for months. Friends and well-wishers gathered at the newly adorned shop to celebrate this milestone in her life. Laughter and excitement filled the air as she welcomed guests with open arms.
However, amidst the celebration, tragedy unfolded. Sources revealed that one of her longtime friends, whose identity is not known, harbored feelings of envy towards her success. This jealousy reportedly led to an act of poisoning during the celebration.
Why does anyone start opening a business with fanfare? Inviting friends and family? These people may patronize the business but are unhappy with your progress. Get your customers from people you don't know.
Mariangeles: With how the prices of things have gone up at a very fast rate, and refused to come down, how much has it affected how you eat?
Do you still enjoy what you used to, your comfort food and all, or do you just stick to a strict meal plan? Do you still eat the amount of times you eat in a day?
I used to eat maximum of three times a day. Now I eat four to five times and I lost five kg from 80 to 75.
theophorus: See some comment up there and you read some Ladies saying "The Man was Abusive".
So because the Man was abusive, the woman did the right thing by making Him lose all he had worked for 17yrs.
To the women supporting their fellow Women in this Act, I wish your Brothers/Sons what you Wish other Men.
Most women support nonsense from their fellow women. When issues occur, they do all they can to make the wicked woman win even influencing some wicked men, who won't tolerate such a woman, but would pressure a fellow man to remain in a demonic marriage/union.
It's a lesson for everyone. If one has maltreated his wife before in Nigeria, it's advisable not to bring such wife over to foreign countries. Most women are vindictive and will eventually pay back. Majority of the time, if you check properly cases like this happen when both the husband and the wife are not good people.
If you are a man, pray that you don't encounter a bad woman and perhaps her supportive family, because for every good you do for them, they would repay you with bad ten times.
Truths9ja: juju dey work. Dey there, people are still doing rituals in different form
It works for those who want it to work for them. But for me, God's time is the best. Leave the matter to God to judge and check out the difference between you and the other person.
SweetBuns: He was probably abusive and/or controlling There is no smoke without fire For the white mans land, if you do anyhow to women you will see anyhow
Absolutely wrong. Listen to this guy's comment. He is not describing himself, but speaking for a friend. So he's saying the truth.
adonainana: So quick, Not enough students and innocent people to milk dry for tuition.
The same Masters course that is £4000 for citizens that live in the UK, its 4 times the price for international students coming to the country for the first time at almost £18,000
Same way they woke up one day and started looking to Africa for free slaves to build plantation farms and wealth for free.
Imagine having access to free labour.
Sometimes we underestimate how clever Europeans are, whenever they need free labour or cheap labour, they know exactly what to do. No matter the century we are in.
Someone sold all his land and belongings so he could japa to do care job that BRITISH CITIZENS CAN never ever do in a million years time, the person talk say he is doing it for his kids for a better future .
It is well
They kuku have no choice, the countries the students are coming from failed them.
Houses and properties some previous generations hustled been sold for next to nothing just to fund a masters program
Goodnewsforlife: In as much as I agree all is not well with Nigeria, it’s obvious this is staged
There’s no way a bet shop could b this big without a chair
It’s impossible
It's possible. Have you gone to a big bank in Nigeria that has crowd with 50 chairs in it? The number of chairs must be limited likely less than 20 or 10 no matter the crowd to reduce people sitting in the business all day long with no where to go. Same here.
Besides, one can feel and see the dressing bias in the new rules. It is western-centric. No regard for other cultures in the ties and jacket rule. Smh.
These are men. Men with flaws and stiff neck. When will this realization become known?
There's never been a problem with you putting on your well arranged local dressing and grooming.
Look4success: Not moved. The issue of blood transfusion that has cost many lives is not amended
There's a scriptural injunction that tells us to abstain from blood, which means not eating or taking it through the veins. The previous adjustment don't have any specific scripture stopping people from doing them. It's only a renewed understanding that makes these changes acceptable especially in localities where they are not frowned at by people in general.
Domaining101: This is a very big lie please, where do you guys get such info? I earning 25k a month as a single bachelor in Lagos and that is enough to carter for all my needs including light bill, fuel, food, clothing e.t.c, let alone 100k.. I think alot of Nigerians are just over exaggerating the situation of thing, just trying to making things look as if it's extremely terrible
The amount you are mentioning is terrible. My sales girl earn above the minimum wage and I know it's nothing as I use about that amount to fuel my car in a week.
Not part of your money. Nylon is one of the reasons why the minimum profit on each item you buy is 10 naira pure water inclusive as the cost of nylon is almost N15 per one.
