He's not involved. He should give her money daily even if it's transfer and he should record his expenditures on an app like money manager etc and see how much he spends monthly. Your wife is the one setting the standard and not the kids. It is her desires and fears that she's projecting onto the kids, and making them get used to getting branded quality meals all the time. It is what you give your kids that they'll become used to overtime.
Give her less, invest more (money market fund, FGN bonds, sukuk, treasury bills, stocks etc), save more, plan for your future. Your kids are still small, they'll need much more funding as they grow.

Yes, she makes fresh juice every morning for their lunch in school. The kids got tired of the fresh juice that they ignore it and return with it sometimes. Now she buys other drnks like yoghurt, chocolate and milkshake. Said she will be alternating them so they still drink the fresh juice when she gives them.

She complains i am too strict, and sometimes go for cheap things at the expense of quality. Always blackmailing me with the kids' health. Stop buying Eva water. Buy Cway water. Put the water in water bottles. You would still maintain standards. Try that in other aspects in the house too. Buy bulk items not small, small, it's cheaper that way. Instead of using expensive detergent or toothpaste, use cheaper ones. I started doing same when I got a shop.

First of All, reduce your expenses. 250k a month on house rent is too much. Look for a cheaper place. You may need to leave band A area to a cheaper area. The amount you are giving your wife monthly is not much, but it's best to monitor it by giving her in piecemeal daily and not monthly, you may see that she spends more than that amount. I do spend more than that. Live simple. Not easy, but possible.

It's too small. I spend about a million monthly and still save. I can't lie to you, I don't get many basic cheap things done. making hair for the three other people in the house is very difficult. I wonder how others survive that have not seen a significant increase in remuneration in the past one year or more.

Life never happened to you and pray it doesn't because if it does, you'll not only bargain, you'll beg those marketing women. There's nothing wrong with bargaining for price though some people do it as if there's something else involved.

Fact of the matter is he doesn't have responsibility, that is wife and kids. If he does, he would realize that 1m is not enough to spend for a family in a month and you must still save. So, I allow my wife bargain. I feel sorry for the market women, but I know she's saving money for me.

Naija is better. You may earn over that salary in a month in Naija from side hustle at work. You won't anything significant over there from side hustle apart from your full time job. Side hustle maybe in a different city. It would involve stress etc

Mine is the middle one. But it's balanced. Buying in bulk. Cooking much and refrigerating it so we can consume in the next Three months. The problem is you may spend over a 100k a day and stop spending in bulk for the next few weeks or months. Only buying to augment the stock in the fridge. Note that buying a bag of rice is like wholesale. Far better than buying cups or custard locally close to the house which must be more expensive as the retailers must make profit.

With all due respect, you don't understand what I commented previously. A hard working person needs to double his hustle every year to be able to earn more, save more and achieve more. A hard working person earning a hundred thousand monthly aims to increase that amount over time to beat inflation and afford more goods. So I repeat, based on the neverending inflation prevalent in this part of the world, we all need to break our backs more. I'm doing that everyday so I don't complain about the increase in price, nor do I go to the market and visit three sellers to confirm that the price has really increased. I quickly buy. Note that I sell too. Whenever I say let me visit the next week to confirm the increased price, I always regret because by the next week there's a new price increase always.

My candid advice is, let's go and work harder because there's nothing anyone can do to stop the situation in Nigeria. In the last six months, things keep increasing on a weekly basis. I'm speaking as someone who goes to the market weekly. All items have been increasing.

House receipt, two id card with address on one, bank statement of another account with same address, MTN recharge card etc.

That is another way. But I have also seen a situation whereby someone just went to the bank to open an account just a day after the bank officials came to verify if he actually lived in the house.

That's supposed to be done to all accounts opened. But due to laziness, almost all banks actually agree that they have visited your house and confirm you stay there even though they didn't.
