These are the issues from my discussion with a close friend; Access bank set target limits for all Intercontinental Bank staff to be achieved in 6month (nov,2011-april,2012) but was reduced to 2month ending Dec-2011. As such all staff that was not able to meet this target was sacked, 1603 of them. They were asked to all write a test on credit, failure to achieve the past mark will result to termination of appointment. Note that not all had written the test but most had passed the test. All this are bottleneck to frustrate IB staff out but the test was not serving the purpose, hence inability to achieve set target in 2months was used to terminate appointments. Be informed that those that did not pass the credit test are still going,if you are able to achieve set target. Not forgeting that around 1500 trainees/intern bankwide appointments were terminated last wednesday. My opinion of for the mass resignation; 5yrs or more in IB- You are entitle to gratuity if u leave or stay but not entitle to severance package. Less than 5yrs in IB- You are entitle to severance package if you are among the professional staff whose appointments was terminated while those still left behind with Access Bank will forfeit severance package and start afresh with 1yr probation period. If for any reason you resign or your appointment terminated, NOTHING FOR YOU. Other possibilities IB staff with HND and Bsc from state university might be asked to go. In my opinion, Accessbank should have merged IT with Intercontinental bank to ensure customers with both banks can transact business without problems (eg STB/UBA),then mixed staff from both ends to get familiar with each other customers to build confidences but Accessbank was particular about closing branches, possibly send them off(my opinion) and rebranding the remaining IB branches while customers from both ends can not make withdrawals and even deposit is not seamless. I am not happy that IB customers are suffering because of Accessbank inability to manage small issues while exposing IB staff to ridicule. It has never happened in the banking sector for staff to resign enmass. I want to believe Access bank management will be embarrassed with this enmass resignation because they didnt plan for it but they will definately find a way out it using their unjust ways. IB staff will say PROUDLY INTERCONTINENTAL |

@poster Your husband promised starting a ministry which was ok by you. I share your pain now because u are the one providing for the family and this had affected you finance greatly. I want to believe you prayed before accepting to marry him and if otherwise, the fact that marrying a man that wants to fulfill God's purpose in the world is not a bad idea. Starting a true ministry of God without additive is not a day job, it takes time to yield result, pls commit all to God and all shall be well. You are not likely to get the best advise here but lean on God's understanding, direction and verdict. Pray together and also in your quiet time for him, is a listening God,be patient. Sincerely HE will lift the ministry, your husband and you. RICK WARREN will say 'No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on. And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for'. Stay bless. |
I spoke to the prophet and all he said about me is 100%. I give God the glory. Whao. Thank God i can now work on my weakness through prayer in God with faith and all will be well. |
Sanusi meant well for nigeria and nigerian. But for presidency is will vote NO. Reason been that is type of leadership is Killing the economy. We need leaders with more actions and less talk. Somebody like PAT UTOMI is a better alternative to SANUSI. |
I called him around 9pm yesterday without success. I also sent a mail using my hotmail without response. You cant really tell the right time to call him. All is well. |

Gapbridge MFB is a good bank for young aspiring bank workers with little or no experience. I was called for an interview around July and the offer was not ok for me. Hence, i left the offer. Note that i was offerred 85k per month with increment after 6months if i met my target. Most candidates are recruited into marketing. I dont no of the test but for interview, nothing to worry about just be cool and be honest with your replies to question. I believe the water meant for u will not pass u. |
After collecting money from you. Below are the terms and conditions, (A) Registration is valid for four months. (B) Registration fee is non refundable. Imagine this, (C) The company (esther break thru) do not guarantee job placement. Employment is only restricted to the employers. (D) Our remuneration is 20% of the first month's gross salary (E) Failure to comply is a breach of contract. (F) For posting come with your receipt. If u observe carefully most of their adverts are posted on the guardian newspaper without address. Reason been that if people get to no is esther break thru they wouldnt apply. I dislike the attack on our president, which i frowned at in totality. But it is high time GOODLUCK start ignoring leaders who decides to overstay there time in various countries. I never expected our president to have attended the ceremony and i am not astonished about the attack, because what it simply mean is that our COUNTRY support leader(s) that overstays there tenure by modifying their constitutions to stay in power. We all no that it will be resisted in Nigeria. It is time to start making a positive statements POLITICALLY, ECONOMICALLY, MILITARILLY AND SOCIALLY in Africa and beyond. |

The sam magazine awarded oceanic bank international an award in 2008, what happened to the bank in 2009. The same magazine awarded former CEO in intercontinental bank plc in 2009, what happened to him and the bank. I appreciate sanusi as a banker but with exceptions to some of his ways of handling the banking sector. This new year will determine who should get kudos or knocks. Time will tell soonest. |

Intercontinental bank asked 350 bankwide to resign their appointment with immediate effect in Dec-2010. Most of the officer are said to be key officers and hard working officers of the bank. Knowing fully well that most of the branches are shortstaff after the tsunami of Dec-2009 and officers had no choice but to combine more that 2 job functions to ensure service delivery is perfect, with that the bank still experienced service failure in branches. Now the bank still believe some staff can be asked to resign. Quality of services had started showing with long queues on ATM during the new year holidays and more still expected after resumption of banking services this new year. If not for the fighting spirit of the staff affected in Dec-2009 they wouldn't have paid the officers involved. With the way the officers were adviced to resign i doubt if the bank is willing to pay them off. The world is watching the bank with keen interest. They said the bank is happy bank but staff are overworked and sad. |
