Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has reportedly began filming



Milly Alcock stars as the eponymous hero in an origin story following her journey before travelling to Earth. Jason Momoa recently joined the cast, marking his return to the DC Universe following his Aquaman stint, though he will portray a different character this time around - the film’s antihero, Lobo. Further cast includes Matthias Schoenaerts and Eve Ridley.

Supergirl is shooting at Warner Bros Studios Leavesden with Craig Gillespie directing. The screenplay is adapted by Ana Nogueira from Tom King’s 2022 comic book.

The film is the second title in James Gunn and Peter Safran’s rebooted DC Universe, following the upcoming release of Superman starring David Corenswet. It is slated for a June 26, 2026 release.

I bet the WB execs are waiting to see if Superman will be a success. Lanterns and Supergirl are crucial too.

If the DCU kicks off strongly, they are likely going to integrate Reevsverse into DCU.

But if DCU doesn't start well. They will leave Reevsverse on its own.

I'm speculating but yes, they are leaving that door open for a reason.

I still can't wrap my head around how both worlds can easily co-exist. Because the Reeves Batman I saw was more like an average human in brute strength, rather than an actual peak human and that alone, to me isn't going to make it look believable if both worlds merged

This is Superman that can easily tear through anything he crashes into, yet he can't do such to common snow

Like I previously said; Superman is not your regular superheroes that anything can easily be push under the carpet oh... You need to have close eye for every details before you can make a believable Superman, which I think Gunn does not have.
I pray one day director like James Cameron will decide to direct a superman movie for use then people will know how meticulous it is to do a Superman movie...

This is what Superman would wear if he wanted people to see him as a regular superhero. A normal homemade suit that even a human being with powers would wear.

Henry Cavill suit is what an alien would wear. A suit made for Kryptonians not regular superheroes. Remove the cape and he would basically look no different than Zod.

I did comments about few other wrongs in my previous comments, but like I said... It's only a trailer so it won't be much necessary to go full out since many of the scenes might not make it to the final cut...

When that time reach some people go know say Superman no be GotG where anything dey acceptable. Superman is almost perfect (if not perfect) so every little thing will be scrutinised to the tinniest atom...
There are still lot more things wrong with this trailer, but it's not really necessary for now because we don't even know the scenes that will make it to the final cut...
If I should score this trailer then it can't get higher than 4/10

That score is the honest one I can give.. The teaser trailer is not in any way worthy more than the 4/10 score.
I feel Gunn and WB are just trying to do too much and wanting people to fall for the trailer by all means, but I don't think the trailer did justice to that...

I don't want to even go into nitpicking the things I observed about the trailer sef... When the right time comes we will nitpick to the least thing, don't worry. People that thought pulling a good Superman movie is easy will be forced to think otherwise by the time this movie is released.

Please don't get your hope too high.. You may really like James Gunn, but from all indications I don't think he can pull a great Supes movie! He's just giving many of you a nostalgic vibes of the good old days of Christopher Reeve and so many people feel he's actually getting it...
I might be the only one saying this, but to me Christopher Reeve's Superman was just too cheesy. The story telling and many scenes looked too weak and the movie did not age well. When you re-watch movies like Jaws, Indiana Jones and a few other old movies then you'll know that that same Superman movie many of us thought was super brilliant was just an okay movie, it never aged well because of so many dumb things in it.
Note: I'm not talking about their vfx oh before you begin tell me how that was the best technology for that time and it's not supposed to rival today's tech..
