yes sir. some passport renewal carry the previous passport number in the data page of the new passport. this is not your opinion, its fact. Fk1987: The new passport can't have same passport number with the old passport..
You can as well make a note of this while filling ur visa application form., but I don't you av any issue with that..
My opinion though. |

Hi, God bless your heart for doing this and hope you get a place soon. But I note that your budget for those areas is rather small. If any of your parents are non benefit, maybe you shouldn't mention it. And i think the person who's working and earning the most should be the one approaching the agents for letting. Usually, most home owners are investors ad they want the highest guarantee that they'll receive their rent every month as at when due. On the other hand, have you had a look at neighbouring towns to London. There are a lot of towns in Essex that boarder London and easy commute into London. Chelmsford is a very good one and its just a 30mins ride on the train to central London. Goodluck. gabiomoesu: Good day everyone. Sorry I mentioned so many people, I'm facing a dire situation and need all the advice I can get. My parents and I are trying to move from Kent to London for my easy transportation to uni and for better job prospects for my dad. In the past 2 weeks, I've tried websites like Rightmove, Zoopla and co, got in touch with several housing agents and all. But all my efforts have proven abortive. Usually, they collect my details and ask me to wait for the landlord's response, but they never give me feedback. Everytime I've called back, I'm told the house is off the market.
I thought I got lucky about 2 weeks ago when one of the agents connected me and the landlord of a beautiful 2 bedroom house who had recently left his house in Mottingham and England altogether for a job opportunity in Philippines last Monday. I was booked to come have a tour of the house with a housesitter stationed in the house. Right in the course of the tour, I confirmed our interest. I tried my best not to sound too desperate sha, but the lady advised that I inform the landlord as it was really his decision to make. Again, I did this on the spot via whatsapp but I didn't get an immediate response. The reply didn't come until the following day, and that was when the landlord gave me the sad news about a couple who had come to view the house a day before me signifying their interest and paying the deposit.
Regarding the other agents who've been ghosting me, I'm thinking the major factor dissuading them is the combined earnings of my parents which i about £33,480 per annum. I also earn money but due to my status as a student and the fact that I only worked about 10 weeks (stayed a couple days w/o work in between) during the holiday, I didn't declare myself as employed. Though I usually receive funds into my bank account on a monthly basis (Please note that I have no paycheck explaining how this money was earned).
My dad expressed his pessimism about this agency approach and suggested that we liase with friends and relatives to discuss with people they know. This he did back in April when we needed a house desperately, but nothing was forthcoming and we had to settle for this house situated in la la land. After 2 weeks of seraching and coming up with nothing, I'm honestly at my wits end
What we're searching for is a 2 Bedroom house/apartment in the ffg areas: Woolwich Arsenal, Eltham, Mottingham, Camberwell, Cartford, Croydon, Dagenham etc. The house could be around the range of 1,050 - 1,200 pcm. If it's unfurnished, there's no wahala. If it's furnished, that's even better. Gas-central heating is preferred as winter is coming. Please if you're reading this and you have any advise for me regarding the best way to approach this, kindly quote me with your advice. if you also know someone who has a 2 bedroom apartment/house/flat for let, kindly give me a shout here so I can find the best way to reach you since the mail attached to this account is no longer functional.

Also, there are several hand offs in this process. The main one obviously is where the decision is being made. Its another process to print the visa on your passport and another process to get the BRP printed. We already know theres a delay in BRP prints and this is also delaying passport returns - honestly I dont know how it connects. i was on the phone with a case worker earlier and the best he could say was that 'if theres a delay in printing BRP's we will hold on with sending out decision letters' - I was tempted to ask how does it connect (this is a different visa category btw) Chizzymuna: Good day everyone, The gurus in the house please I don't know what else to do, I did biometric on 16th August for skilled workers visa in abuja. The first email from the paid email said a decision has been made. I also sent a friend to abuja TLS to know if my passport is there but he said it is in British High Commission.
Also in my application I declared I have Canada student visa refusal and south Africa visa refusal.

Hi, just stay calm. You've done everything right and sure your passport will be out soon. Even though I know there's a steady increase in the number of applications the UK processes every year, I think this year is unprecedented, coupled with covid and brexit, it is mental. He needs to register with the professional body that regulates health care delivery in the UK before he can practice, this includes writing an exam. I'm still surprised. The visa should say 'NO DR or DENTIST WORK', not 'NO WORD OR BUSINESS'. the difference is, even though he cant practice as a doctor, he should still be able to do any other work outside the medical field. Send them a mail and get it rectified. Christybibi: He is and is practicing as a doctor here in Nigeria,

Congrats on the pregnancy. I appreciate you would be in some distress due to this visa problem with your partner. I agree with a previous person who said we should try and take responsibility for what we ask others to do for us - especially in this instance where you have even paid for the service. My advice, make a proper application now to UKVI. Explain exactly what you have done wrong before and be genuinely apologetic about your mistake and take responsibility for those actions. If he's now married to you, present the original documents to show that the relationship is genuine and subsisting. Also let them know you're now expecting and he's the father. I'm more than certain you'll be fine. Goodluck. Basirat6279: Please what can we do here as I'm presently pregnant which I just know about and will need his support very soon. This is my problem. You cannot say you completely doubt that if you don't know about the particular school he/she's referring to. You could simply ask for more details. Fact is, its not impossible. Yes, you're right on the above 3yrs but still wrong on 15 hours in England and 30 hours in Scotland. Depending on your circumstance, you will either get 15 or 30 in either territory. TheGuyFromHR: Free childcare provided by universities for foreign students in the UK? I strongly doubt that. You only get state-sponsored nursery education if your child is over 3, number of hours varies from 15 hours in England to 30 in Scotland. |

Guys, please lets not confuse these things. Every single applicant CANNOT have the same circumstance. For the most people, the information and guidance on this thread would be enough to apply to a school, get your visa and have a great time. For a few, the information her wont scratch it at all, either because there's a lot of knowledge gap or people would just advice you from their own peculiar reality. Now, there's a difference between an 'agent' like we would know them in Nigeria and an Immigration adviser. If you think you have a peculiar situation and would need an immigration adviser, please be smart enough to get one. And like I said before, the information here should be more than enough for the majority of people. Amarathripple0: Oh my, that’s horrible, I’m so sorry this happened to you. My school advised me to use an agent for my visa application, I just said okay and did the thing myself. I’ve applied for visas to multiple countries without any issues, can’t put my future in the hands of a stranger. You should defer and reapply for another visa, this time do it yourself and ask all the right questions here please. We’ll be happy to respond |

To be candid, within the duty of care, its very unlikely that they would approve the visa of a dependent child if only one of the parent is travelling. (Unless there's a legal document that's granting them sole responsibility in this regard and they are not in any marital union with the other parent f the child.) For example - in case this is not clear to some people. If two people are married and only one parent has the intention of applying and travelling with their child on a student dependent visa, its more than the case that the parent will be grated the visa but the child would be rejected. Ebalafaa: Thanks once again for your input.
However, Kindly review ST 34.2 carefully to understand why I am cautious. I have been travelling for visits with my daughter alone without any issues previously but this is a student dependent application and the rules are clear on the requirements. Consent Letter may not be sufficient here.
The subsection (c) clause is not an objective test and i do not want to risk it because what may be serious and compelling to me may not be to an ECO. I also do not have sole custody neither is her father dead so I do not meet the exceptions listed under (a) and (b).
Hope you now understand. |

Hmm, not entirely sure this is correct for families. 1. Single parent can apply alone 2. Single parent can apply with child if there's document to show that she's not married to the other parent of child and they have sole custody - legal documents 3. Single parent can apply with child if the other parent already has visa 4. Singe parent can apply with child if other parent writes a letter of consent and gives reason why they are not applying at the time (please check very well on this - this is very specific for married couples. Note - The converstaion changes greatly if the couples involved are not married and one parent is wanting to travel with the child. Please seek professional advice in this regard. 5. Both parents can apply at the same time with child 6. Both parents can apply together without child Patnuel2015: There is no rule that state all of you must apply at same time. You can do that if you want, it's your choice. However, you alone can apply then you family apply later. Also you and you child can apply at same time while your husband applies later. It all depends on what you guys want. Although you should know that if you are not applying together with your husband but with you child, a consent letter must be sign by both you and your husband. So choose which is convenient for you. |

Oga, people have very different realities and experiences. I've moved to the UK as a: 1. Being Single 2. Being Married with just partner 3. Being Married with a partner and child - (son) I can tell for for a fact that the experiences are all very completely different and the hardest one was moving with my partner and a child. Even with my early on experiences in the UK, i still struggled greatly. It got so bad I moved my family from Sheffield to Newcastle due to accommodation problems. This is even after a landlord kicked us out of the house because other people complained that the baby was not letting them sleep at night. In case you're not aware, some landlords have instructed agents not to let out their properties to families with young children. Already it is difficult to get accommodation as a foreign student, now imagine a foreign student with a family... I will not advice paying more to get accm, but if thats what you have to do to get your family sorted out, by all means do it. justwise: You are just lashing out because you got called out for making a mistake.
Why do you move abroad with larger family if you have no accommodation waiting or made an arrangement for one?
When you failed to plan then you planned to fail, you have two options when moving abroad with family of 1,2 or more.
1. Main applicant moved first, stay in a hotel, BnB, AirBnB to settle, get accommodation before moving the rest of the family.
2. Pay for student accommodation for one semester, use that opportunity to get something cheaper and suitable for family.
Its not rock scientist that if you moved with larger family it will cost you a lot to stay in a hotel or AirBnB.
The reason you gave for the lack of accommodation is not true because:
1. We have had PSW before for many years and there was no accommodation crisis then.
2. The UK was still a member of EU then hence many EU students and other EU members can easily troop into the UK as they wish but still many foreign students still get accommodation.
Years ago when i moved from Bradford to Portsmouth, i travelled to Portsmouth first(this is about 6hrs journey) stayed in a hotel for just a day, got list of private landlords from the university and the next day i viewed 3 properties and was able to get one. I moved back to Bradford to pack my stuff.
Yes you were desperate for a place and that was why you offered to pay more than the asking price. |

hmm, i think you'e still at lost as to the reason why you shouldn't have paid yet. Its not because the house is not genuine or that they are scammers. Its not just very wise to start paying accm when you don't have a visa yet...thats the point (besides the fact that its always advisable to view any house you would be paying for before signing any contracts. Best of luck. Enraf: Thank you @justwise I will keep you updated on this as things develops. I don’t have any doubts about the genuineness of the Agent and the landlord and the suitability of the house because I have a relative checked it up properly before payment was made. I will try to negotiate a suspension of rent pending when we are able to collect the key to the apartment. Thank you |

Hmm, this is not entirely correct. ppl get married during their programme and are able to move their partners as dependent. As a matter of fact, you dont even need to be married to show tat they are their spouse, you just need to convive the HO that you have a genuine and subsisting relationship (however, a good way to show that is a marriage certificate - but surely not the only way) Venerable612: If you didn’t identify that you are married on your Visa application- and her name isn’t on your application before you obtained the visa - you can’t bring her in as a dependent. |

The main document she needs is a court paper stating she has sole custody of the kids. If she doesn't, she has no business at the embassy applying for visa for those children no matter what 'receipts' she shows. 1. Yes 2. Yes. You can use his account and you can equally move the money to yours. Actually, very good point/question you've raised. The HO has used the term dependants to mean quite very different things in the same situation. A child dependant - (alongside application dependent) is usually associated with financial dependence or parental responsibility A partner dependant 0- is usually application classification, less to do with financial dependence. In any case, the answer in your case, is your sponsor can equally be your 'applicant dependant'. Lilly211: Hello house!!! Something is bothering me and I need you to help me out.

There's no format for anything. Ask your estate agent to prepare a bill in your name, the product/service you're paying for, the amount is cost and maybe for what duration. Just the way you would expect an invoice to look like with their account details (IBAN and those kind of stuffs). Out of interest, is accommodation payment part of what is covered by cbn to use forex for? i thought its mainly school fees and medicals?? Richhard: Just paid school fees through Form A, with access bank.
They're still deliberating on approving accommodation payment, they said they need official letter /Document (like that of school unconditional offer), that if we can get the accommodation provider to do something like that, they'll pay for the accommodation.
So I need a format, if you've got one or if you've gone through this process before, so I can send to the accommodation provider,so they can do something like that thanks. |

For those waiting on decisions from UKVI and have received the not straight forward emails, if you can, check with your banks that issued your bank statement to be sure they are not the ones delaying the process. More often than not, delays in the SLA's might usually be as a result of third party checks that needs to be carried out and which are usually outside of UKVI's control. I hope this is helpful for someone. |

We are a family of 4 and wifey is the student and POF is in her account,We intend that she will apply for visa first and once her visa is out then myself and the kids can apply and intend using her account that has the whole fund as our POF when applying the reason for that is someone told us UK look at family ties and might reject visa if they see that we are all applying together at once, below are my questions:
1. Can we use the same statement of account that she used in getting her visa for our application(Hubby and kids) or the fund must be moved into my own account to count another 28 days before it can be used to apply?
2. Is there is risk for apply together at same time as a family and is it better to just apply together?
3.Does UK look out for anything like family ties when granting Visa?
Will really appreciate everyone's response on my inquiry. |

Tier 4 visas are on the PBS. It should have nothing to do with your relationships. Technically, if you meet the points, you get your visa. ariyike23: For someone who has a fiance ( a british National ) that lives in the UK , does it affect study visa ? We both have a physical relationship even if it’s LDR (not online ) . In a previous Uk visit visa , he was mentioned in the Cover letter so the UKVI knows about his existence . Will this affect the study visa ? |
