perryy: Fellow Lagosians, it is time to key into the change mantra and actually change Lagos state's political hegemony. The change we seek we elude us if we do not rise on Saturday to destroy Tinubu's political dynasty which has been entrenched in Lagos state for a period of eons now. We need change in Lagos as it is in Abuja.
The only surefire way to have a responsive and responsible government is change. Without it, the actors at the helms of affairs will be complacent, proud, irresponsible, and at the end of the day, assumed apotheosis and take the people for a ride. Change is the only antidote for bad and complacent governance. We must not be drawn into the euphoria of Buhari's Abuja victory and fail to make change happen in Lagos . We must defy the Jagaban political infallibility and vote our conscience, vote for our future and vote for positive change. A change we all envision, a change to trust and not to fear,a change that will permeate every facet of Lagos,a change that is impervious to religion, ethnicity and regionism, a change palpable to all and not just the elites ,a change we all can feel in our homes, a change visible to all Lagosians and a change that works.
Yes, the change has started in Abuja and it will be useless if it is not replicated in Lagos which is a mini Nigeria . Lagos has been in opposition for the past 16 years, yet there is no state in Nigeria that is as developed as Lagos. Let me ask these few questions- will Buhari's government not make use of our constitution? Or is Buhari going to run a neo- military government? Will the avenues for internally generated revenue in Lagos disappear because Buhari is in Abuja and Agbaje is in Lagos? What about the federal allocation? Buhari will cease it, right? The answers to all these questions is that no matter who is in Abuja and who is in Alausa, Lagos will remain what it is- the commercial nerve center of Nigeria. Nobody can change that. So erase your fear of remaining in opposition and vote for your conscience, vote for change. I feel your pains but sorry you are not totally constructive. |

fhranciz: But we are my brother, if more than 50% are living below poverty line and less than a dollar a day, then my brother we are a hungry nation. If actually they (politicians) mean well for the society, they don't need to be materialistic, aside the vest which signifies your identity, nothing else should be shared. Instead, our politicians should learn to display their sincerity of purpose, their genuineness to serve the electorate and not wooing people with a kongo of garri ijebu and the likes |

Is not their fault cos I guess is the too much red oil they use to cooked that has filled their brain.I rather be single than marry a yoruba or even make friends with them cos they are snakes under green grass . Of course, u will better prefer someone u can easily manipulate to loot the resources of their country, at d expense of youth unemployment, lack of functional refineries, corruption in the highest order, lack of respect for Judiciary (Fayose invading a law court with tugs and he's still enjoying political immunity from the sitting president). Let it be clear now that what u prefer does not matter here in Nigeria. Nigerians have decided to choose the man who will correct all these abnormal enthronement Buhari is the man, vote Buhari, vote for change |

Godogwu: Lets use your bricklayer for example; he earns 3k a day, even if he has to work his butt off right? Same as people who work in Walmart. Now he earns N30k in 10 days no?... In a month give or take 70k... that's over $450 no? Pretty close to what Mc Donald workers earn in US right and this is a "third world" country. I don't know which graduate earns N20k a month, graduate of what abeg? Even the banks pay workers at least 100k monthly. But lets not go into the coperate world, lets deal on the working class, the unskilled and non graduates/illiterates. A roadside seller who sells plantain, tomato, fruits etc will earn at least $25 on a bad day and about four times that amout on a good day ($100).... Find the average she makes everyday and you tell me what exactly you're yapping about. Btw that's about $1,870 a month (over N300,000 yes?) . Now i do know there are poor people but you should understand that there also lazy people who don't want to do anything atall but want the government to provide everything for them and that's what I'm totally against. Now i don't know when last you were in Nigeria, but the bad roads are becoming non-existent ( roads are being rehabilitated as days go by), As for electricity... Most Nigerians can testify to how much better it has gotten. As for free education, please go and look at the government schools in PH, Calabar, abuja, IMO etc and see how they are being rehabilitated most especially Ph. Sugar-coated analysis - Papa Deceive Pikin (Umbrella) kind of speech. Busy doing nothing. |

jas_o: Below are what we get when armed rubber emerged president of a country as is in Nigera. -Anenih Anthony general -Shina rainbow advisers -Executhieves -leg is lait all and conner tressury - Judiciary that encourage nepotism and corruption
Help me add to it. In such situations, the bigger criminals are celebrated while the small ones are placed on the front page of newspapers Also, in such situation, some first grade criminals are more powerful than the president. As such, they are above the law In such country, to become a powerful leader, or to apply for this position, having a very huge criminal history would be an added advantage. Etc etc |

I am not a Tinubu's fan, but I get to learn that, whether thru crooked or clean means, the true federalism, significant changes and development, which has made south-west states a point of envy, is worth noting about Tinubu.
Talking about criminality, who is judging who, there is no pure system to convict criminals. It is a country where the "real" criminals are being 'celebrated'. A convicted past governor, who was just released from the prison, has started campaigning to become a Nigerian Senator. A former minister, who was convicted of embessling billions of naira, on his way out of the prison, was accorded with dancing and "Aso Ebi".... Why don't we atleast give it to someone who helped other become governors and leaders of the change that Nigerians need @ a point like this. Had he (Tinubu) not started this movement, who would have delivered democracy to the people as against the "Papa Deceive Pickin" busy-doing-nothing agenda
You don't need to sing the name, just accept the change! |

I wish the system was pure enough to convict this criminals Dat's the biggest challenge our lovely country is facing."A pure enough system to convict these criminals" when u av a criminal to judge criminal cases, in a criminal court of appeal.... Who is to be convicted? |
Politics › Re: How Did Tinubu Become So Powerful? by snnipsi: 9:53am On Apr 04, 2013 |
joeyfire: I really dislike the man but make I talk true -
1. The man knows POLITICS sir! No other politician in this country knows how to work the nigerian system like him. Unknown to his supporters, Goodluck and Tinubu are very tight paddies because he knows how important tinubu is to his 2015 ambition.
2. The man knows how to work the ethnicity card. He's created a party which serves a rallying point for yorubas. (Though I can swear he doesn't believe in it himself) truth be told I haven't seen this level of intertwining of ideology, ethnocentrism and organisation in ages.
3. The man exploited the gap left by an all powerful military rule and has been able to push the inevitable call for pure FEDERALISM. He has always had a knack for embracing the popular struggle of the day. Ie June 12 and now Regionalism well said! |
