omar22:i have never stood next to enyeama or know his actual hieght but i dont think his is less than the average for his role. is he really that short? i imagine he is in the same range as pepe reina, victor valdez, et al. we are not talking here of him going to arsenal, or the likes, but come on, he should be good enough for a blackpool, newcastle, sandoria, lens, racing, etc. |
Interesting contributions. We all are entitled to our point of view as long as it is not considered offensive/falls foul of forum rules. Anyone who lacks ambition in life is done for. Therefore as some people commented above, i refuse to believe he is just contented to remain and possibly end his career in Israel. In my first post i did not say he needs to play for a Chelsea or man u, but in any of the clubs in western Europe and that include those in Portugal, Holland, etc. playing in this seasons ecl may do his career more harm than good as there is a good chance of them being eliminated in the group stages and been hammered in each match. In conclusion, the main fault rest on his agent who failed to capitalise on the ups after the world cup to market this guy to a better club. He may as well have missed a once in a lifetime opportunity. |
hakunajay:everyone gets their jittery moments, even renowned goalies like bartez, seaman, shilton, etc. But Enyeamas confidence have grown over the years and even his previous weaknesses like crosses, set pieces and penalty have improved. I appreciate the fact that its more difficult for non-European goalkeepers compared to strikers to land good deals but if he blows his chance this year he may never have this opportunity in his lifetime to play in western Europe. |
I knew it was a none story once i read the headline |
@labiyemmy:<><><><><><><> Point being? |
Maybe his agent. Imagine this is the same guy who was man of the match after the game against Argentina despite the fact that we lost. This is the same Enyeama that in the 2002 world cup gave a man of the match performance against England. After the world cup all the talk was when and not if a club in one of the main leagues would snatch him up. And yet in 2010 he is still stuck in an archaic league in Israel. He is easily better than most of the goalies in the prem, serie a or la liga. Why he remains at Hapoel leaves me gob smacked. |
Why must everything be turned into Igbo versus Yoruba? This is getting ridiculously boring. |
I cannot believe that after his scintillating performance at the world cup he failed to at the minimum land a contract in one of the big leagues in Europe. He is not getting any younger and he may have missed his opportunity to shine and define himself at club level. Kudos to him anyway for guiding his club Hapoel Tel Aviv to the group stages of the uefa champs. league. |
when they start doing something right thats when it should start making news. |
he is not only their enemy but the enemy of mankind. So comments by both sexes are all but valid. |
barnabasj:how do you expect people to take you seriously with above comments. |
MADAGAS-CAR Football Federation has accused the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) of not been fair by not communicating the new date and venue of today's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Super Eagles to them. The game earlier scheduled to take place in Abuja was shifted to the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar due to the U-23 ECOWAS Games billed to start also today at the National stadium, Abuja. Madagascar FA had arranged a chartered flight that would airlift its players and technical crew to Abuja with a likely stop over at the Murtala Mohammed International airport, Lagos but to their dismay, the international media carried reports of a change in date to Sunday and the new venue (Calabar), which the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) failed to communicate to them. NFF in its reaction however, claimed that the allegation of the Barea of Madagascar was not true in the sense that a memo regarding the matter was sent to them last Tuesday. “Well, I don’t know of such reports, the NFF had on Tuesday sent a memo informing them of the new date and Calabar as new venue,” NFF's media officer, Robinson Okosun said.http://www.tribune.com.ng/sun/index.php/sports/2023-youre-unfair-to-us--madagascar-slams-nff |

do these jobs include kidnappers, political thugs, 419s, hired killers, ? if so with the direction the country is heading these jobs are more likely to be created for the youths in 10yrs than any white/blue collar ones. |
Former Bolton defender Danny Shittu is weighing up a number of offers as he looks to find a new club. The Nigeria international left Bolton earlier this week after cancelling his contract by mutual consent. Shittu found himself out of favour over the last year and did not feature in the first team last season. A number of clubs are thought to be monitoring Shittu's situation after he impressed during the World Cup with Nigeria. Celtic are rumoured to be tracking the former Watford man as Neil Lennon considers his defensive options, while clubs in France, Turkey and the Middle East are all believed to interested in the central defender The 30-year-old feels he had no choice but to quit Bolton as he wants to be playing on a regular basis and he is now considering his options. Options "I believe quitting Bolton was the right step to take as I didn't have options to play at Bolton," Shittu told skysports.com. "I wish the club all the best in the future and now I have to find myself a new club. "I am now reviewing my options and there are quite a few sides interested in me from Europe and the Middle East. "Hopefully I can announce where my future lies shortly after I return from international duty." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11672_6354004,00.html |
@ honeric01 Yes, Shittu currently is a better player than Lawal. Thats why Shittu has been called up for this weekends game and Lawal not. Enough said Mr Honeric. On the first point, I really dont know if you mean what you are saying or only trying to wind me up. On every logical positive criteria the EPL is on a different atmosphere to the juvenile league that is the African CHampions league. People, help me here, Honeric is making obvious blunders. |
honeric01:how dare you compare the prestigious english premier league with a gutter one like the african champions league. if i were shittu i would rather stick my down below into a termite hill with millions of soldier ants than play for heartlands or any clubs in naija for that matter. |
mutter:a marriage without trust is like a house without foundation |
chosen04:i marvel at your unfettered ignorance and all but feeble and ludicrous attempt to rescue yourself from the pit you have dug. the fundamental principle of freedom should never be subject to abuse and should be guided at all time with the rule of law and upheld by morality, ethics and values. i despise with all i have someone who supports Adolf Hitler, same applies to a proponent of the clu clux clan, an advocate for idi amin and his ilk, or indeed a follower of babangida. as long as they fall within the remits of the law, i reserve and would pursue my democratic freedon to ostracize them from the rest of decent society. this would by no means be through violence but by educating the gullible and mobilizing the populace. IBB in a sane country would be in jail at present. He has so much to account for the years of misrule he led in Nigeria. But hey ho, this is Nigeria anyway, a failed state that sits amongst the likes of Pakistan, Somalia, etc. A country where thieves are rewarded with national awards and murderers with chieftancy titles. |
