we are in the same track. But my point is, what whoever auhtorised this operation expecting a different outcome with the track record of the Army?

And also i do not accept that the millitary approach was the best option.

The question needs to address the quality of people you expect them to serve with. The recent troubles of the NASS is a good example.

The ND people are my people, my point being that were we to expect anything different from the Army? they have done this in the past have you forgotten? My blame here would lie on him who authorised this operation knowing fully well what the likely consequences would be. The armies record on this sort of operation has never been good.

Were innocent lives not lost in Jos with the army meant to be watching things? i wonder why anyone would be under the illusion that the army would be any different from the police or the NASS members, or the criminals or vern the politicians.

Listen guys there is a fundamental failure in approach. using the military to flush these guys out is only going to lead to this sort of colleteral damage. the problem here is did GEJ realise that before authorising this operation?

I am sincerely opposed to using force in this way, expecially when it is directed at your own people. I know a lot of people have been calling for this, but the Niger Delta issue is far more complex than a lot of us understand.

very true. There are so many other options, than tourism @ that scale. What about agriculture, education, even transporation.

I am with Sapeleguy on this one. The tactics being employed by the Goverment is not the right one. neither Amnesty ot violence would work. We must device a new approach to sort this problem out, once and for all.

Have a good chat with him. tell him excatly how you feel including your worry about the future and about hohw his actions have a far reaching effect.

In a relationship, both parties are not always so prudent, you always have one which is abit more carefree with money amd the other cautious, does not necessarily make them bad.

You need a good long talk with your BF including setting small targets which you can both shot to achieve. If this then fails you would be in the right to take what ever action you deem fit. but for now dont rush into any decisions that might be ill thought through.

I have said it, the elections in Delta state will set the scene for the 2011 elections. If people are ready to seek change and fight for change, it will be evident in the forthcoming re-run elections. it should be a good barometer of the peoples desire for change and resilience to stand and defend thier vote.

Has an excellent point. I was recently talking to someone who had an extremely profitable business in Warri, but things have changed. All the big business that he did work with, had all moved out from Warri and there was not sign that things were about to improve.

However there are other more peaceful places in the state that we can start with, but critically security must be tackled head on, and beloeve me it is possible.

It has not been easy. However, Ogboru has started. I gather he has been working from the grassroots, which as everyone knows is key. however he is due in Warri on the 7th, and I gather the show is going to be big and strong. The momentum is gradually gathering, and i have no doubt that in the next 30 days things will be a lot different.

there is no doubt that there is massive potential for tourism in Delta state, but I seriously doubt that uduaghan is the man to harness those potentials. Just as you have suggested, another opportunity to milk the state dry

Well, we are taking the fight to them, but Deltans have to come out and lay claim to thier state. Uduaghan will not succeed. There is not point in us sitting down here and complaining, if we are not prepared to go out and vote. What a lot of us do on sites like this is complain and point fingers at the problem.
