I would not be suprised if Uduaghan is nabbed on his way to see his daughter in Canada. He was fingered in this case and wanted for serious questioning and possible prosecution. |
So Belmash it is. He will definitely get rear service there, and that will suit him nicely. |
@Ibime, You know say na scrubs im dey go. No be small thing im eye go see for dere. proper mot with rear service |
@Balzay, There is no corrupt politician, north or south who has been sent to jail, so this is not a North south thing. Nigeria is failing Nigerians. Ibori commited a major crime in the UK and he is going to pay, and dont forget Atiku has been findered out, and I have no doubt that is it a matter of time |
Na wah. I bet you this guy never thought this day was possible, never really crossed his mind. So whats happening to all the vultures that were circulating around this thief and feeding off scraps. So what would become of his kids? mama and papa dey jail, what would they be told? It messes them up big time |
Ibori to be sent to the UK http://www.thenational.ae/news/uae-news/courts/dubai-court-orders-extradition-of-james-ibori-to-uk |
@Aloy-Emeka, Well said. Killing one crook does not solve the problem in Nigeria. This a real hollow victory, and who claims it? the people or the politicians? This is one notorious robber in Aba, but what about other parts of the country? The current climate in Nigeria is breeding all sorts. There is kidnapping, Millitancy, Boko Haram, Corrupt politician. Get good government in place and you are aready half way to fixing these issues. But kill one thief today, and another will come up today. You dont deal with crime and the causes of crime, then your fight is useless, |
@McKren, That is not my point. have we dealt with the causes of unrest and crime? now if we havent, whats is to stop another crook, just as bad or even worse from surfacing. The current climate in Nigeria will breed all sorts, whilst this crook might be gone today, i see no change in climate to suggest that things are likely to be better. is it today they started killing armed robbers in Nigeria? dont they still exist. My brother as long as we are not prepared to faced up to the hard choices, we continue to scrape the surface and celebrate very weak short term victories. can you really confirm that the Threat of kidnapping has gone away? |
@Dapobear, Well said. the Tinapa project was not well though through. Simple and short. You build a massive project like that without ensuring that the necessary infrastructure are in place. Lets just watch how the lekki trade free zone will take off |
McKren Whilst i appreciate that the said Kidnappers deeds were terrible. believe me, thet dont come close to Atiku, Ibb, and co. Dont forget that the actions of Atiku and co, brought rise to the likes of this commomc thief. So whilst we succeed in getting rid of this one, more are likely to take his place. It is called "dealing with crime and the causes of crime". the causes of crime still exists, so what is to stop another one from rearing its ugly head. this is the same issue that has plagues countries that have to fight the mafia or drugs lords. You fight the cuases of crime, you are more likely to win the war on crime |
Ibori is not doing himself any good by stalling the inevitable, infact he has done himslef a real de-service. he has spent over 6months in a far east jail, and will eventually do more time in a UK jail, so the idiot has already extended his own sentence. he has only spent 6/8month in jail and he is already lost his swagger. the ogreedygbodigbo. |
while some applaud this, let us not forget that we are raped, killed, and maltreated daily, by useless politicians, in my opinion they are far more dangerous that this crook. A society that does not function gives birth to this sort of crime. Last week it was the bombing of a village in ND, today the killing of a kidnapper. by the way Atiku, Ibb, uduaghan are still walking free. What is the difference between this guy and those big thieves? |
If only we can channel this sort of fight to corruption and corrupt leaders |
Viablility is always part of due deligence. When having visionary thoughts, practicallity has to play a key role lest ones vision fails. Like I said I really do hope i am wrong on this one, but i saw this coming well beofe the project even kicked off, and had heated arguments with people. |
@Violent, I doubt it will, but I dont mind being proved wrong. but saying that this is the same Lagos /Abuja scenario. Why has Abuja not become the commercial success that most hoped it would? |
@Sapeleguy, no no no, very far from it. i am from warri and grew up there. Infact, I remember when the port in warri was extended, with all th excitement and hope, but my point is, We already have very vibrant trade cities, long established with very successful models. Why change it? Why not maximise the potentials of these places, instead of creating new ones that may not necessarily work. look at Lagos, onitsha, Aba. these are the trade centres of Nigeria, they already have a west african appeal. Why not build around this success. Calabar on the other hand has a wwell established tourism culture, why not build on it. obudu is a successful brand, expand it, but probaly stick Palms shopping complex size attraction there, nothing bigger. The focus has to be right |
@Violent, I get your strategy, but that only makes Tinapa a seasonal success. We need to understand that we cannot under estimate the lack of proper tansport links to Calabar, and besides you need to have a local enough vibrant ecomony that can sustain Tinapa all year round. If Tinapa was located even 100km from Lagos it would have been a different story |
hall of Fame = None Hall of Shame = All Nigerians, for failing to appriciate the true nature of our troubles, and taking a selfless, passionate and commited effort toward fixing Her. For not recognising that todays hardwork and hope, means a future bright for our children. For still not understanding the significance of voting right in 2011, and why getting 2011 right must be the most important thing in every right thinking adult in Nigeria |
The biggest problem Tinapa had right from conception is location. especially when transportation in Nigeria is terrible. Massive projects like this need to be located near very vibrant economic cities. It would have worked best if it had been divided into to parts. 1:Tourism, 2:Trade. Calabar already has a reputation as a tourist destination, they should have kept it so, probaly expand the obudu cattle ranch project. Lagos already have a very vibrant trade and reputation, probably situating the trade element on the outskirst would have proven to be quite popolar, like the lekki trade-free zone might end up being. |
@Gbawe, I am right behind you. PDP must be kicked out, they have been in power for 12yrs with nothing to show. We need change, Nigeria Needs Change and that change cannot be found in PDP. please vote wisely |
What Ribadu is saying is what we have all known for years about the North, but that does not mean that he shares that view. And by the way, Ribadu represents change. We have been stuck with this unproductive party for 12years, my people is it not prudent for us to seek change? Change is Good, and the Time is Now. Vote out PDP |
@Abagworo, you always speak with a lot of maturity. Look before you leap for you have made a very ignorant ethnic remark. Calabar is an Efik city while Port Harcourt is majority Ikwerre-a sub-Igbo and partly Okrika-a sub-Ijaw.(Just a correction) As for Tinapa,it is up and bubbling.Try to visit and you will not get any space because the accomodation in Calabar and environs is already exhausted. We should always look beyond this issue of accusing Igbos of trying to claim a place simply because they feel at home wherever they reside in Nigeria. It should have been appreciated as a good step for all Nigerians to follow for this country to be truly united. I think all this ethnic bashing should come to an end, it is getting too much, and in most cases obscures the main point. back to the main issue. Tinapa, in my opinion should have been done on a smaller scale. I had major arguments about its location for very good reasons, but top of them was the accessibility of the place. calabar is nice, but just not central enough, you will struggle to attract the sort of clientelle that will make the place a resounding success. |
I see that some really done get the crimes Ibori has commited, so i will help you folks 1: Ibori looted state funds (Fact), and that is left for Nigeria to prosecute (Which I doubt) 2: Ibori carried out money laundering, which is a major crime in the UK. now Ibori is not being tried for looting state funds, oh no that is a seperate case. left for efcc to pursue when he comes out as an ex-convicnt (again), ibori is being tried for carrying out money laundering charges in the UK, which is a major crime. So please, all you Ibori apologist, get your facts right. In the Uk, if you lodge in over £50,000 in one go at any bank, the bank is required to make enquiries about the you (Fact). so really the case againts the Chief Thief was stack. |
Guys this has nothing to do with North and South, so lets please keep tribe out of this. Ibori is a thief just like Atiku, but this time has been caught. reckless stealing must be condemned not matter who is involved. I wont say it is a shame, because this has been long coming. Ibori was a no good thief way back in school, ask those who know him well, and did very bad things in that state. He must now face up to his crimes, give up his loots and serve out his purnishment. After all if you cant stand the time, dont do the crime. He shouldnt fight the extradiction after all if he is innocent he would be set free. |
This is so refreshing to know. I tell you that the only thing still keeping Nigeria ticking over as an entity, is the rare collection of honest people. I have heard all sorts of stories, including people declaring that they are giving up the honest fight, to go collect thier own share of the national cake. There is a general belief that Nigeria is not worth fighting for, and anyone who is fighting the good fight is just plain stupid or foolish. These guys for all we know may be good men. That is why I have always given my backing to Buhari, because I am convinced he is a good man, however I would prefer someone with a vision like Utomi, but a Ribadu or Buhari would do. |
Very true, but we remain the main problem. Nigerians are not ready to lead thier country out of the pits. we are content stealing from ourselves, after all my torun will come someday. |
The whole system is so damn foul. Farida must be sacked, ibori must be jailed |
This is not a case of if Atiku raised and important point that most people already knew, but the truth remains that He has lost all moral authority to comment on this matter, since he is party to the same careless looting |
There is anough evidence to charge this man. but the presidency and efcc are not prepared to do thier job. Uduaghna must not be allowed back into Delta state, he must not be given access to Delta state funds. |
Una see trouble. Why have we turned into human beings worse than animals. I don tire for that country |
