I noticed that my Noilers (about 15 weeks old now) doesn't like to eat formulated feeds, I have tried several brands (Top feed, Vital, Chikun, and one other feed that I couldn't remember the name at the moment).

They always ignore the feeds. Say I give them feed in the morning when I come back in the afternoon, it will still be there, almost untouched, so I will be forced to take it to the broilers in the cage.

When we bought them, we restricted their movement for two weeks and fed them formulated feeds, which they actually eat to a reasonable extent. Thereafter we released them to free range in the backyard and ever since they've been avoiding formulated feeds. They eat more of kitchen food waste, which I believe is not always enough for them, they eat leaves too (bitter leaves, water leaves and some other leaves).

I'm worried because I think they may not grow well, so I've been searching for an alternative, I gave them some millet and guinea corn, it seems they love it as much as they love eating kitchen food waste. So we bought some, but I noticed that both millet and guinea corn is more expensive than formulated feeds when I compared the price per kilogram.

Has anyone experienced this situation with their Noilers?
Is there anywhere I can get millet and guinea corn at a cheaper price?
The price here is about N200 per kilogram.

My Noilers/Kuroilers on most occasion starts dropping eggs around the 5th month. I have been able to record a few drop around the 4th month though, especially when raised with broilers.

So I should expect them to start laying by August ending then. We have a few broilers too, but they're kept in cages. I tried to let them out a few days ago, the Noilers angrily attacked them, so I had to move them back to their cages.

Should the locals start to lay eggs again before the Noilers, I will have to collect the eggs for kitchen...

Price of local chickens over here goes for N600 for full grown hens, and N800 - N1000 Max for a grown rooster when buying directly the rural owners.

It's the direct opposite here, the rains brings along with it diseases that kills off the local hens. Their population seems to explode only during the dry season. Most rural farmers tends to buy and raise their chickens during that season cause it possess less diseases that kills them.

Moreover, what we have here are the yoruba ecotype chicken. Chai, those chickens no b am at all. There's no difference between them and well fed pigeons when killed. . If not for their eggs, I wouldn't want one around (their eggs sweeeeeeet dieeeeee ). Well, looking at the bright side, those chickens are so hardy that they will survive any disease thrown at them.

At the bolded, thanks for making me laugh so hard that I almost felt some pain in my abs. I can relate with this. We have some free space at our backyard, about 38x56 feet, so we bought 8 Noilers at 4 weeks, about 2 months ago, we also bought 4 locals (3 hens and a rooster). So the biggest of the Noilers now at 3 months weigh more than the 3 local hens combined.

We bought the local hens so as to act as natural incubators for the Noilers eggs when they start laying, the Noilers have not started laying yet, but the 3 local hens has layed and hatched 20 chicks.

I'm eagerly waiting for the Noilers to start laying.

like I said earlier, use a tank...it is moveable, durable and economical. And sellable if u don't want to do catfish again. Trust me u will thank me later. Dont do concrete

if its a permanent house then you can do concrete ponds you can as as well use a tampoline pond too but since its for family consumption i think you need a tampoline or mobile tank.
size could be hmmmm you can make use of two ponds 150 fish in one and 150 in another .....sizes varies

It's a permanent house, fenced with gate. The available space at the backyard is roughly 56ft by 25ft, so I'm thinking of making concrete ponds. So what do you think should be the dimensions of the pond? (Height x Width x Depth)

PS: I currently have some noilers free ranging in the backyard, so I don't want to make too big pond, so as to have enough space for the birds.

Surprise, surprise!

This evening i went to ATM to make a withdrawal and from the debit sms alert i observed
that there is an additional money to my credit balance suspected to be the exact money
i am expecting from Payoneer.

So i thought this people finally credited my account after i opened a support ticket this
evening and they don't send alert.

But on checking my bank transactions log, i see that the money have been credited
the same day i made the withdrawal but without email nor sms alert.

Because i made a first time withdraw from Payoneer to my GTBank acct since Tuesday 10:45am and till now i am yet to be credited.


But in the email sent to me by Payoneer it was stated that i will receive the money same day and now it is over 48 hours.

About two weeks ago. I don't understand the reason for the delay, my first withdrawal to GTB also lasted for more than 48 hours before I received a call from one of their staff asking if I was expecting a forex, I said yes, then she asked if I wanted it USD or NGN, I said NGN, then my account was created within a few minutes after she ended the call. After that first withdrawal, they usually created my account in the evening of the following day.

I wonder why they've never show me that before. I've been using the withdraw to bank account option for awhile, they've never show me the exchange rate before. All they do show is the transaction fee, it was $15 before, now 2% of the transaction amount, and it usually takes about 48 hours to get the credit alert from GTB.

Payoneer surprised me this morning. Just try my first withdrawal through my UBA saving account this morning at about 6:35 am and by 10:40am I received alert for d cash.

This is great I must say. D cash is less than 300$ and interestingly, d exchange rate of 357 they indicated to me is exactly what I got in my acc. with no any deduction.

I've been using GTB and the fund usually takes about 48 hours to be credited into the GTB account.

Depends on the amount being transferred to the local bank account, mine arrived at 357.63/$, that's excluding the service charge though. So, the higher the amount you are transferring, the higher the rate
