Hi, I think the reason why you didn't get a response is because this is a Student Visa thread and most people here have information majorly on student visa. Why not search for a Conference or Visit Visa thread and seek for the information there. I hope this helps ayo23us: Hi all, I made a post earlier but nobody helped with a response. I intend applying for an Australian Visa to attend a conference on June. Please can anyone help with relevant information as guidance? I have been trying to go through the process but it seems cumbersome. Please help out. Thanks! |

If those ones you checked requires no agent and meets your needs, you can proceed with the admission Application. Wiseoldman: Good day,
Kindly advice the schools in NSW that require agents. I have checked the pages of a couple of them, and I have not seen any requiring agent. I want to be sure, so I can approach the process more effectively.

So sorry about your US denial, I've been there before so i know exactly the feeling. To start the Aus package, i believe all docs you use in securing an admission to US would fits perfectly for Australia schools too, but unlike US schools, you'll have to make school fee payment of at least a semester before you can apply for visa. To start with, search for schools that offers your course online, check their admission requirements and payments. Once you find the one that meets you needs, check if you can apply directly or it's a must you use an agent (some Aus schools would always refer you to their agent). You may find out by contacting the school as well. Note: you might also want to check out some schools visa requirements before making your school choice. Follow their admission process till you secure your admission. Once you receive your admission letter, follow the school instruction to make your payment and get your COE. Go to the Aus immigration online portal, create an account and file your Application, submit all required documents, go for your medicals and Biometrics to complete your Application. Relax.....PRAY...PRAY...PRAY.....and you'll laugh. Hope you have something as a guide from there. NOTE: I'm still awaiting my Visa decision as well. ibiyehmea: Good Afternoon Everyone.
The US embassy just wasted 18 Months of work by denying me yesterday. After 24 Hours of brooding, I have decided to look into Australia.
I'd need help to at least get someome to talk to about where to start from because I'm very confused.

Sorry to say, you can't really judge with your friend's timeline. Different cases with different COs. A lot of folks here including me submitted as far back as October or earlier and still yet to get the grant. It can come sooner or later, let's just keep praying or hoping for the best. I understand your point, but it is referred to as Scholarship and clearly stated. bligs: There is different between scholarship and discount, what you stated is actually discount and not scholarship, some unis adopt such strategy to entice international students.

I'm sorry I have no answer to these. Note that I'm still a visa hopeful too. Just my own thinking, how A paid his remaining payment might not work for B. At that stage, i think one man go be for himself. The best answer to that is if you have all the money pay it. Lol, else i doubt anyone would give you a perfect answer on how you would pay the remaining fee. Saintbusco1: it help indeed... am grateful... what if I was given another scholarship outside of the Macquarie scholarship, will it be added to the 5,000? and if yes how will I get to make my remaining payment? how will do school know I have another scholarship....
sorry for bothering you |
Travel › Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Softkey(m): 7:31pm On Dec 26, 2018 |
Some schools (e.g Macqurie University) gives you automatic $5000 yearly scholarship. It would be stated in your fee breakdown and would span accross the semesters. For example, if your yearly school fee is $28000 and you're given the $5000 yearly scholarship. Your tuition per semester would be ($28000÷2) - ($5000÷2) = $11,500. Hope this helps Saintbusco1: @dogara @softkey @sparkle(PhD) and others...
I found out there's scholarship for international students... but the procedure now is what I need your advice... 1: to apply for the scholarship is it before admission is given /during admission process or after been admitted...
2: on a partial scholarship, how will d fee b paid? let's say one is given 5,000$ out of tuition fee of 28,000$... is it possible to pay the 23,000$ and on getting to school tender evidence of 5,000$ scholarship? or how does it works please?
I am applying for M.Ed |
Travel › Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Softkey(m): 5:12pm On Dec 26, 2018 |
Some schools do offer partial scholarship for international students even for MSc coursework. E.g Macqurie University. Yes you can pay per semester Saintbusco1: in my enquiry... I was informed that no scholarship for international students in Australia and more so, must one pay all the fee at once... cos in US i was told some schools accept to pay d semester by semester |
Travel › Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by Softkey(m): 10:43am On Dec 26, 2018 |
Yes, some schools offers scholarship (like $5000) which might be somehow insignificant to the total amount though. And the $ there is in AUD Saintbusco1: thanks dogara... am asking what if I can't afford the entire school fees like $28,000 at once? is there scholarship or part payment? and this their school fees are they paid in AUD or USD |
