FIFA have withdrawn the bronze boot award from Golden Eaglets skipper Kelechi Nwakali at the recent U17 World Cup in Chile and re-awarded it to his teammate Samuel Chukwueze after it realized they made a mistake. According to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, the error was contained in a letter to the NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, and signed by Mustapha Fahmy, Director of the Football Division, stating: “We made a mistake at the closing ceremony of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Chile 2015 with the distribution of the Adidas Bronze Boot. “Instead of player no. 8 of Nigeria, Samuel Chukwueze, the player Kelechi Nwakali (player no. 10 of Nigeria) received the Adidas Bronze Boot. However, if two or more players are still equal (after goals and assists), the player who has played fewer number of minutes will be ranked first. “With this in mind, Adidas will send you another Bronze Boot in December 2015, which we would kindly ask you to hand over to Samuel Chukwueze. Please be informed that Kelechi Nwakali may keep his trophy.” The abstract attached to the letter showed that while Nigerian Victor Osimhen scored 10 goals and made two assists to win the Golden Boot, Johannes Eggestein of Germany scored four goals to win the Silver Boot. Nwakali, who was voted Most Valuable Player of the Tournament and earned the Golden Ball, tied with compatriot Chukwueze for third place with three goals and three assists. However, Nwakali played more minutes (630 minutes) as against Chukwueze’s 535 minutes.

Football supporters across the land can rejoice at the return of the Premier League this weekend. After two weeks away due to the international schedule, the fixture list has thrown up what promises to be a number of exhilarating clashes. Here are 10 reasons we cannot wait for club football to get going again... STERLING PLAYS LIVERPOOL Saturday's late kick-off sees Liverpool visit Manchester City, which means Raheem Sterling up against his former club for the first time since his £49million transfer. After agitating for the exit during his last six months at Anfield, Sterling is sure to get a frosty reception from the travelling Reds. Can he help City inflict a second straight Premier League defeat upon Jurgen Klopp's men? KLOPP NEEDS A RESPONSE Klopp could not have a tougher fixture to try and rectify the 2-1 defeat at home by Crystal Palace before the international fixtures. Sterling taking on his former side will dominate the headlines but a defeat combined with a win for Manchester United would leave Liverpool 10 points off fourth place on Saturday evening. ARE CHELSEA STILL RUBBISH? It's quite something when one of your best players describes the season as 'f***d' after 12 league games, but that's how Cesc Fabregas labelled Chelsea's start to the campaign. Jose Mourinho's side are 16th in the league with 11 points and host Norwich at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. It is a fixture Chelsea will still be confident of taking three points from but Alex Neil will be telling his team that there is not a better time to play the champions. ENGLAND STARS IN ACTION AT WHITE HART LANE Tottenham host West Ham on Sunday in what is usually a fiercely-contested London derby. Mauricio Pochettino could, and probably will, deploy Eric Dier and Dele Alli in the centre of the Spurs midfield. The duo impressed on England duty and have been key to some impressive display. Alli has been particularly eye-catching. His goal for England against France was splendid and he will be full of confidence against the Hammers. VARDY FIT FOR NEWCASTLE? Leicester striker Jamie Vardy is aiming to match Ruud van Nistlerooy's record of hitting the back of the net in 10 straight games when his side head to Newcastle for Saturday's fixture. The forward missed out on the chance to play for England in the latest round of international fixtures because of the hip and groin injuries sustained in the last appearance made against Watford. Leicester are the surprise package of the season and are third in the table. CHANGING OF THE GARDE? Aston Villa, arguably for the first time this season, looked an orgainsed unit when holding Manchester City to a 0-0 draw at Villa Park in their last match before the international break. Remi Garde takes his team to Goodison Park on Saturday to face Everton. Villa might be bottom of the league but it will be a trickier tie for Roberto Martinez's team that it would have been a few weeks ago when Villa looked toothless before Tim Sherwood's departure. CAN WATFORD SURPRISE UNITED? The first match of the weekend sees United face Watford at Vicarage Road in the early game on Saturday. The Hornets have quietly managed an impressive start with the Premier League new-boys 11th on 16 points. Quique Sanchez Flores and his side have reason to be optimistic of taking something. ROONEY BACK ON FORM? After producing a string of stagnant and ponderous displays in attack for United, Wayne Rooney looks like he could be back on form. He scored United's winner in the Champions League against CSKA Moscow, impressed against West Brom and also found the back of the net for England against France. If he is among the goals on Saturday, the United fans' chants of 'attack, attack' will be answered. SAINTS ON THE MARCH Southampton look set for another campaign which will defy expectations under Ronald Koeman. After a timid start, the Saints are unbeaten in six games in the Premier League and are only four points off the top four. Their three-pronged attack of Dusan Tadic, Sadio Mane and Juventus target Graziano Pelle have played some exhilarating football at times and they are up against Stoke at St Mary's this Saturday. GARRY MONK UNDER PRESSURE Football's fickle nature is perhaps typified best by reports that Garry Monk's job as Swansea manager is said to be in question, despite him leading the team to their highest ever finish of eighth last season, with their points tally of 56 also their highest in the top flight. But this time around, Swansea have struggled to recapture the flamboyant, incisive play Monk implemented on the team last year. He urgently needs a result this weekend at home against Bournemouth.

Apart from the overriding aim of beating Real Madrid on Saturday in the El Clasico, Luis Suarez can pass a major career milestone by scoring his 39th goal for Barcelona and passing Diego Maradona's goals tally. Argentina legend Maradona scored 38 goals in his two seasons at the club, while Romario found the back of the net 39 times. When Suarez so nearly dragged Liverpool to the Premier League title two seasons ago some saw a similarity between what he was achieving and what Maradona had achieved at Napoli. It was a temperamental talisman taking an unfancied sleeping giant to unimagined glory. It was also Maradona who, at the end of that season, donned a 'Luisito we are with you' t-shirt to support the striker after he had been sent home from the World Cup and banned for four months for biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini. Now 'little Luis' is leaving Diego in his wake as he continues to thrive at the Nou Camp. Romario will be his next victim. His 39 goals came in 66 games from 1993 to 1994. Suarez is currently on 38 goals in 60 games. The speed at which Suarez has racked up his tally is surprising. In recent years great strikers signed by Barcelona have struggled to match the goalscoring feats their achieved elsewhere. SUAREZ VS MARADONA VS ROMARIO Luis Suarez: 38 goals in 60 games. 1x La Liga, 1x Copa del Rey, 1x Champions League, 1x Super Cup Diego Maradona: 38 goals in 58 games. 1x Copa del Rey, 1x Copa de la Liga, 1x Spanish Super Cup Romario: 39 goals in 66 games. 1x La Liga, 1x Spanish Super Cup David Villa never scored as many goals for Barca as for Valencia, Thierry Henry could not repeat his Arsenal figures for the Catalans and the only place where Zlatan Ibrahimovic did not feel king of the world was at Barcelona where he struggled in the shadow of Lionel Messi. The Argentine's frightening numbers have tended to mean a slight fall in productivity from anyone who has played alongside him and it was almost taken for granted that the same would happen with Suarez. At Liverpool he scored 69 league goals in 110 games. At Barca the scoring ratio has been even more impressive. And that hasn't been the only thing that has surprised Barca fans. He came with a reputation for controversy. Many were sceptical about bringing a player to the club who had been banned for biting three times and would not be able to start the season because of his latest suspension. There was talk of an anti-biting clause in his contract rubbished by Suarez in his book, 'Crossing the Line', but most Barcelona supporters still saw the signing as a new low in the club's values – first we take shirt sponsorship from the controversial hosts of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, and now we sign the 2014 World Cup's biggest 'villain' they argued. They have been won over, however, not just by the goals but by Suarez's impeccable behaviour both on and off the pitch. Every media appearance, every gesture towards team-mates or with supporters has been faultless. There have been no tangles with opponents. There were only four yellow cards last season and only three so far this campaign. Far from being trouble he has been the embodiment of mature responsibility and the perfect team player – everything that Maradona was unable to be when he arrived from Boca Juniors aged just 22. Like Suarez, Maradona's first season was marked by a long absence. He contracted hepatitis and missed 14 games across three months of the campaign. He recovered to play his part in the team winning the Copa del Rey and the Copa de la Liga. Four games into his second season he had his ankle broken by Athletic Bilbao's brutal defender Andoni Goikoetxea - dubbed 'the butcher of Bilbao'. He came back from what doctors said would be a six-month lay-off in just three months and played his part in Barca reaching the Copa del Rey final again. Athletic were the opponents so he crossed paths again with Goikoetxea. After another extremely physical encounter that Barca lost 1-0, a pitched battle broke out and Maradona was given a three-month ban after hitting Miguel Angel Sola. He never served it moving to Napoli instead and they enjoyed the best years of his playing career. For Barcelona and Suarez the timing has been far better. He arrived aged 27 with the ambition to finally make his mark in the Champions League, denied him at Ajax and Liverpool. He made up for lost time by winning the tournament last season, scoring in the final. With Romario there are also striking similarities and major differences. The Brazilian arrived in Spain having proved he could score goals in Holland, netting 165 in 163 games for PSV Eindhoven. But unlike Suarez, who came at a time when Barcelona were needing to rebuilding having seen Real Madrid win their 10th Champions League, Romario came to the Nou Camp after Barca had won their first ever European Cup in 1992 at Wembley. Instead of being part of that historic triumph, he was part of a 4-0 defeat by Milan in the 1994 final in Athens. He fell out with manager Johan Cruyff and returned to Brazil. There looks to be no falling out with Luis Enrique on the horizon. The manager sees his own battling style in the man from Salta and has been delighted by his level of professionalism since joining the club. This time last year Suarez was ready for his first game in a Barca shirt. It was also the first Clasico of the season and it was also at the Bernabeu. He started the match brightly, setting up Barca's opening goal but Real Madrid won the match 3-1. Twelve months on and with three trophies won, his team achievements far outweigh those of Maradona and Romario, and with a couple of goals in the home of the old enemy he will have surpassed both on a individual level too.

Not even Ronda Rousey is invincible. In the biggest shock in the UFC's history, the bantamweight champion was knocked out cold by Holly Holm in front of a record crowd of 56,214 in Melbourne. Rousey struggled to cope with the strikes from the former boxing world champion and when she was dropped in the second round, Holm pounced to land a barrage of blows that forced referee Herb Dean to step in.
