Thanks LagosismyHome and for the screenshot. #ForRecord #Archive
I know pension funds was discussed earlier as well as savings (TheGuyFromHR, Justwise and all) and the consensus was they are NOT public funds.
That aside, This NEST pension caught my attention and made me to go checking. Thanks Solalal36 (although I was just going to tap to and move my body to ... na jẹ jẹ jẹjẹ, I sit down for my house. Somebody ... ...) smiley
In a nutshell, "Nest Corporation, the Trustee that runs the Nest scheme, is a public corporation. It’s accountable to Parliament through the Department for Work and Pensions but is generally independent of government in its day-to-day decisions. Being a public body means that we have no owners or shareholders. As a Trustee, we run the scheme in the interests of our members."
So NEST pension has 'public' splash all over it. A bit scary! Well, stress not.. It's a pension scheme! QED! Pension scheme are not public funds just like other schemes tied to NI contributions.

Lol. I'm just trying to be super carefull

You’ll most likely qualify for public funds before reach your “pension age” either as ILR’er or passport holder.

Don’t stress. You’re fine.

Great. We will get there by God's grace. Thank you sir

Still on this public fund matter. So, I am on a study visa but have completed my studies. I was on my own jeje when my agency (employer) added me to NEST's pension programme. The confusing part is that they claim the government will add to our pension pot. Please, does this fall under claiming public funds?

Add like 200 to your budget so that you can get an automatic car. Also make sure the engine is not big to avoid heavy fuel consumption and other taxes. If you are cost conscious don't buy above 1600cc engine, the lesser the more cost effective. It is not by body but by engine. I have seen a gulf with big engine and heavy consumption. The owner hear nwii and is saving up to buy another car and dump this one on another unfortunate owner.
Than you so much

Are there really reliable 1k cars?
Or is it the type that I'll use new car money to repair over the coming months/years?

Honestly, I cant say. I need advice too

Hello,

Please, I need directions on buying a car (a used one)? I don't have much knowledge about cars. I'm currently preparing for the theory tests.
I've been checking out some on Facebook marketplace, gumtree and Autotrader. Is it safe to buy from there or are there garages?

Budget is around £1000. Thanks

Use Indeed. Most job vacancies are on Indeed. You can check Union square. Some shops there display posters. Aberdeen is a bit dry though.

There is a delay in the production of BRP. It is a general problem. My own took a while too

That's the standard response people get. It takes them more than five days to respond. Give them about 20 working days to respond. Please DONT be tempted to use the reporting tool so the 20 days counts won't start afresh.
Thanks. Hopefully, it will take lesser days

I know the home office at times experience delays in BRP production but if you have been to the post office and it was not there, report it via https://www.biometric-residence-permit.service.gov.uk/collection/where then give them about 14 to 20 working days to respond (please report on the link ONCE as your initial reporting gets wiped off and a fresh 20days starts counting if you report again). If you don't get any response after then, please call them. Keep checking the post office as well during this period.
I got this response from them

There is a general delay and lots of people are having to wait without an alternative.

You can only wait also, they will begin to clear off the long wait soon.

I just came across people with similar complaints. Hopefully, it will come out soon

Yes, biometrics on 22nd of September.

School confirmed yesterday that they have received it.

Sorry to bother you. When did you get visa application decision mail?
There were news of people getting a 'delay BRP' mail around final week of September. I used Post office address not school.

Hello, please I need urgent advice.
I went to the post office to collect my BRP and I was told they haven't received it. The thing is I want to apply for NI number but there is no available alternative for me.

NB: There seems to be a delay in the production of BRP

If you're planning to leave Nigeria, then tell her not to waste time or money on any prog.

Canada's own worse pass UK undecided she will have to start all over again in canada. Top up degree or a 2year diploma, with a pass mark in Biomedical certification exam.

She cannot practice as a biomedical scientist in uk with a MSc Biomedical Science.

For certifications, she may be able to combine it with her studies, prices range from £2500 - £4000 depending on what she wants to go for.
Please, how long do these top up courses take for a biochemistry graduate? Also, will I be restricted to only 20 hours when I start those courses?

It is not easy to print those documents before hand. Covid19 test in naija is to be done withing 72hrs before departure, Passenger locator form is to be completed within 48hrs before departure. In my case most of my 48hrs stretches through Sunday when all photocopy centers in my area were shut. I had to go from one closed shop to the order calling the phone numbers on their banners, offering them money for them to come open their shop on a Sunday. I got lucky with one sha.

Passenger locator form 48hrs to take off, e no dey easy for the brain. If you're to look for accommodation, to have an address to put in your passenger locator form and/or Day 2 and 8 test order, that one na x1000 brain pain
If your Covid test center is close to your location, then you can go for it. Are u flying on Monday?

The animal and plant people will request you follow them to their unit if they somehow discover you have food stuff. They will give you a form to fill, to declare the stuff you're carrying. After that they say drop money. Gave them 500naira they said my money is 2k. I brought out extra 500naira making it 1k, drop it on their desk and started packing and zipping my bags. I left them there.

That unit is so useless. They're set up to just collect money perhaps.

In all I used 4k for dashing those airport staff. No be must bros. If you no wan give no one go stop you

Immigration is the most useless unit. Can you imagine these guys insisted that I declare my BTA and show my CAS. I don't have but the guy started quoting some inexistent immigration laws. I tried convincing him like a normal person, guy no gree. Na so I switch to my werey mode, started snapping him, he wasn't even wearing complete uniform. I said I will implicate him, so he went to some of his ogas sitting far away and said something to them, came back to me and told me to meet the ogas and explain to them. Before getting there, they directed me to where to board, lol. They didn't even see my CAS.
At customs, no wahala, guy checked my passport, asked country I'm going to and asked for course of study. Guy said I should make us proud.

Please and please, if you papa no be rich man, try to print your covid test result and passenger locator form. In airport, one page is #1000 o. I shock! They even pasted the amount for each service on their wall.

NB: You don't owe any frigging body at the airport money unless you want to do sadaqah(willingly give out).
Good luck everyone

I wish I saw this earlier. They insisted on 2k. They asked me to go check in and come back to collect one form after filling the form. Just remembered, I forgot and I'm about to board at the moment

Dear Sir, knowledge in modern day travel is invaluable. If you know your onions properly, you dont have to pay anyone. Most immigration officers at the airport always prey on naivety. You have your permit to travel(visa), you are not carrying contarabands, you paid your full tickets then why are you worried?

A lot of people dont even know what items they are allowed to travel with, and thats where your problems would start. Because they would exploit your ignorance, Nigeria is Nigeria and everyone is hungry and trying to hustle, if you allow them to extort you, they would extort you to the fullest.

Ignorance is expensive, you cant afford it.

If you equip yourself well with the right info, you would travel without paying one Naira. The Airline you are using is already charging you passenger service fee, you just have to show up and travel. Dont let anyone exploit you. I will try and do a travel checklist soon enough, hopefully I have the time .

Thank you Sir
