ogagaejay:When I see newbies jumping at every admission they get, I just shake my head and some won't listen... In an not in Germany but I have contacts with a Lou of friends and families there... I beg you all choose course wisely... Go to indeed job portal register for job alert with that your degree name and see how many jobs in germany you would receive alert for in a month, that should give you an idea of what awaits you when you graduate... And please don't compare yourself with somebody that already has work experience in the same field doing similar masters with you and don't celebrate the miracle of just one exceptional person..do proper analysis on what happens to the larger crowd that graduate from that course ....And lastly before you graduate you should ask yourself with this my skill I have now, am I employable or I just want to beg for jobs in the labour market? |
zeb04:If you are young and have interest in nursing go for it.... These engineering things you are trying to delve into is complicated. And your knowledge in biochemistry will be very useful in nursing . But ask further questions in the other large group for travelling to Germany as a student |
DGodson99:You are feeling too proud, you don't know who you are even talking to.... Please lets end it here.. I tried to end it earlier because I am not use to arguments geared towards trying to win....I am already tired of this topic, it has become less of an intellectual discuss; it has gravitated towards an egocentric discussion of who will win and who is more informed.. Somebody was even telling me how my point is less weighty because I am not yet in Germany....My general advice is lets have an open heart to see beyond our experiences.... Even while still in Nigeria, I assisted my friend with almost 60% of his master's thesis by reason of my exposure in the industry... Lets drop assumptions and pride o...the world has become a global village and somebody in your village can have access to information in Germany that your 3years in Germany has not given to you . |
stephots10:This is just the angle from which I saw it, it is not as though, it is something illegal in the country, they gave accommodation change because it is beneficial to them.....You know sometimes in life until you are in the shoes of others, it is very easy to condemned them for not following the script and the books ...... |
justwise:You are free to remove the post...If not that it has already been quoted by others I would have taken it down. It has generated too much controversy here |
Codedboy95:if without a certificate you can't get a good job, it means you are not just good enough The bolded line above just summarize what I am trying to pass across, the guy should expect the shock of his life if he enters the industry with that 'certification mindset'.... I read an article recently by the co-founder of fast.ai where she was regretting and lamenting how going for a phd was a waste of time for he, stating how she would have learnt more if she spent that time and energy in the industry and work environment... .What some people don't know is that you learn way faster on the job especially in a professional environment. I am not planning to leave my studies in Germany for job but I will not deceive myself that my degree makes me better than anybody if I don't build the required skills |
TMwise1942:Focus on your education.? ! What is programming? Are you think programming is not education in quote... A word is enough for the wise... |
clintonsparkz:"He should sit his ass in Nigeria?". ...Thank God you are not the consular general .....I know people like you... When you get in, you are ready to shut the doors on others and if we investigate you properly now, we would still find out one loop hole in all this your self righteous face you are trying to paint here... I am not moved by it, it is a long old Pharisees approach.... If the German government are against it, they should cancel every permit for every foreigners who dropped out of schools to get and job ....Look at the way you are putting it like those companies came to give my friend the job in his house...For your information.. The guy in question is EXTREMELY GOOD... He is not even your average student, the only problem is he does not worship certificates like you want to make us do here... Visa issue is affecting different countries with high population even India the other op was boasting about face the same issues, infact the visa issue in india is worse, I can send you screen shots of my chats with Indian students concerning this..... Personally, I am an academic person and I already plan to run my studies to at least phd level minimum, so don't think you are talking to somebody who is afraid to study... But in the same light, I will not force this my desire to study on another person, and I will not condemned anybody who do otherwise, I know IT guys in canada and usa working in great companies without college degrees (I mean not even Bsc)hence I refuse to be myopic by viewing career growth in terms of degrees only and concerning the career growth you emphasized... Not everybody is planning on hanging on to working and looking for better pay and better jobs till they retire... Try to see through a lens like starting up your own IT firm, creating innovative and disruptive solutions in the IT world etc, where degree or no degree is inconsequential |
TMwise1942:That is the best environment to learn programming.....And don't do it alone, sell the vision to another serious friend .......Both of would start motivating each other ....Don't focus all your life on that degree you are pursuing o...the labour market out here is not friendly towards graduates without skills...Even if worst case scenario, you graduate with 2.2 plus strong programming skill, I bet you even first class guys without skills will not smell the kind of jobs you will be going for... Take this from a guy who had above 4.0 cgpa in school....it's not worth it without a skill especially in the IT area |
Buliwyf:Please calm down, you are just being self righteous here.. You didn't read the guy's post where he said he is not interested in pursuing a degree again?... Pray you don't find yourself in some tight situations most people that quit studies like that found themselves in... My friend use to say it is always a smooth drive, free from accident when you drive a vehicle by just describing how you would navigate by mouth...... And don't bring visa issue into this, Nigerians are not the only citizens who quit studies for jobs and moreover if the job is not good enough to acquire a resident permit, the German government will not issue the permit.... Moreover, German companies and industries are not looking for big degree holders, they are looking for people who can deliver on the job......Companies don't hire degrees, they hire and pay for skills; the world has moved away from that degree acquisition and accumulation system that you believe in , if you have the skills for that "higher paying" job you talked about (don't know what you mean by that anyway) they will give you the job , degree or no degree; especially with the recent law that was passed. My friend who graduated about a year ago after Msc in Germany just got a job recently with salary of about 43k euros while I know an IT guy that dropped out earlier from the same Msc program immediately he got a job of about 65k euros (he doesn't have masters o, only Bsc from Nigeria with IT skills)....Please do more research and reevaluate your stance so you don't condemn people unnecessarily, the world is changing and in the nearest future Msc and Phd will no longer represent what they represent now in the minds of many... |
Codedboy95:. Who told you everybody that enters Germany with student visa go there for only schooling? There are so many opportunities when you get to DE....Considering all the options available, student visa still remains the best.. Imagine you have about two years to settle down and look for job, anytime you get the job you quit your studies and start working.. Unlike entering Germany with 6 months job hunt visa where you would be under serious pressure to get a job within that short period. |
Please In need help go Tableau The left hand side is showing "Tables" instead of "Dimension" and "measures"..... NORMALLY this is supposed to be automatic by I don't know why it's showing tables |

pathardy:Drop your email |
Toppytek:So painful, I am in delta state ...You don't have a link to a Google drive |
Please I need courses (FREE) and any paid course for Python pandas ....And python for data analysis in general |
dauddy97:Please can you share links to the courses you used to learn all these python (pandas, matplotlib, seaborn, sklearn and numpy) for data science |
I am already dreaming of that list with NY name on it... I say myself at the induction in a dream yesterday.. Chai Europe here In come |
Basalt:Right now In don't even know whether I like reading again... Getting uni of applied sciences is the sure way from this your analysis. |
kolladey:You have a point but I don't see why somebody would be waiting for ptdf before getting admission... I already have about four admission for this winter if God favours me with the scholarship, na forward ever to visa, no time to waste |
Dahneyel:Don't apply directly to all thoes business informatics courses, it is the 50/50 chance that they will accept your engineering degree with no experience in analytics Apply to courses that combine engineering and IT....courses in like Msc Digital Engineering OVG Magdeburg, Msc Computational Engineering FAU Erlangen, MEng Technology and Innovation Management HS Harz, Msc High Integrity Systems Frankfurt University of Applied Sciences All these universities have options that will give you the opportunity um major in Data Analytics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Information Systems which ape mostly interrelated.. The most important thing is that your maths is tight and you are already working on your programming skills |
Good afternoon All....I have been told that Data Science/Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Computer vision are only for those who are expert in this field, that is If I want to work in google/facebook/amazon etc it has scope but outside that it is pretty hard to get a job without years of work experience. This discouraging to me because I am planning to go for a masters degree in Germany with focus in these areas and a plan to do personal studies along the line... Can someone who is working in this field explain better to me? What's my prospect of getting employed after my masters? I currently have a bachelors degree in Electrical Electronics with 4.06 cgpa and my background in mathematics is very good but I don't want to go into this field now and regret later |

topie2sure:Yes, that's what I received before leaving the company.... you are correct either 114k or 115k immediately after training but I heard after making them management officers MO, they start receiving about 140k to 145k..I can't remember the exact amount my friend told me again |
dadarasak:I want to give it to a friend... If have it drop it and leave the luck problem to me |
Banfe6:The 150k is not immediately after training.. You have to complete your probation period before they start paying you and it is not up to 150k ..it is about 145k |
AsiwajuEenny:Uninformed man.. So you have changed from the company being multinational to "FG has a percentage in it?" ..You are not straight forward and somebody like you cannot engage in any intelligent discussion without going emotional and sentimental... You goofed when you said the company is a multinational, I corrected you.. You should have thanked me for educating you on what a multinational is, instead you came with another mess up again in a bid to cover up. For the sake of others let me force myself to educate you again on your second goofing. FG has no percentage in BEDC or any DISCO...Do you know what DISCOs are? Let me break it down During the privatization, the power sector was unbundled into 11 distribution companies called DISCOs , 6 Generation Companies called GENCOs and 1 Transmission company... All the GENCOs and DISCOSs where privatized leaving only the one transmission company for tie federal government... FG only has the transmission company and nothing more... If you were humble, you should have a pen and paper by your side now, jotting down instead of talking about what you know nothing about. |
dgame50:Please help me with the email you sent your application to |
AsiwajuEenny:Nigerians are very hard to help.... The focus of my post is directed towards engineers... And I never told them not to work with the company.. I only advised them on how it will affect their careers and my points had nothing to do with money.... And lastly take your time to Google the meaning of multinational.... BEDC is a DISCO in Nigeria and has no business outside this country.. They cover only four states in Nigeria Delta, Edo, Ondo and Ekiti...Or do you have your own definition me multinational? |
bravedragon:Between 140k to 150k.....But if you are an intelligent engineering graduate, forget about BEDC unless it IP your last option... There is no career progression in that company, you won't learn anything technical as an engineer there and within a few years you will become useless having no technical skills and nothing to offer on the labour market..... Even the training school is like bank training mix with many talks on the power sector MARKET. Everytime is about profit and loss .....If you studied non-technical course, the company might be ok for you... But for the engineers, a word is enough for the wise |
bravedragon:NOTE: I didn't say they are work in customer care, I just used that as an example.. That should not be hard um understand. |
ProphetofOdin:It used to be 90k as stipend for entry level when I was there but I heard they have reduced it to 70k or so |
