The attention of the Nigerian Army (NA) has been drawn to a picture of four armed men dressed in what looks like military camouflage in a 4 x 4 finger sign supposedly connoting a campaign symbol of a political party which is against the rules and regulations of the NA.

The NA wishes to dissociate itself from the picture even as it has commenced immediate investigation with the view to ascertain the source and authenticity of the pictures and the "soldiers' involved.

On many occasions, the Chief of Army Staff has made it strongly clear that Army personnel will remain neutral, totally apolitical and will not compromise its constitutional roles under any guise.

The Lagos State Government has opened all road in Lagos as President Buhari visits the state today, 9th February 2019 for the APC Presidential Rally.

In a statement credited to the Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Ladi Lawanson and released via the official twitter handle of the State Motor Agency, LASTMA, all roads within the state are opened to motoring public but areas within the Lekan Salami Stadium venue of the Presidential Rally will experienced higher influx of vehicular movement.

Breaking News: The Collection of PVCs scheduled to end today Friday 8th February 2019 is hereby extended Nationwide to Monday 11th February 2019. This will include Saturday and Sunday.

We wish to reiterate that after the deadline of Monday 11th February 2019, all uncollected PVCs will be recalled and deposited with the CBN for safe-keeping until after the General Elections when the collection of cards and the continuous registration of voters will resume.

Similarly, the Commission is taking urgent steps to address complaints of unavailability of the PVCs of some registered voters before the end the deadline for the collection.

The Commission wishes to reassure Nigerians that we will continue to take every necessary step to ensure that no registered voter is disenfranchised on account of non-collection of PVCs.

Staff are enjoined to be civil in attending to citizens and to escalate issues that they cannot immediately resolve to their superiors.

The collection of PVCs will now take place from 9am to 6pm daily. All State offices are hereby directed to review the procedure for the collection of PVCs and dedicate all the staff of the Local Government offices to the collection process.

The National Council of State has approved N27,000 as the minimum wage for the country.

The council approved the amount at its meeting in Abuja on Tuesday.

Following the Council’s approval, a minimum wage bill is expected to be sent to the National Assembly on Wednesday.

According to the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, the Federal Government is topping the approved amount by N3,000 to 30,000 for its workers.

He said the states are at liberty to augment the new agreement as they see fit.

The Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen, has debunked reports that his residence was on Tuesday, invaded by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

Reacting to the report which has continued to gain traction in several social media platforms, Senior Special Adviser to the CJN on media, Mr. Awassam Bassey, described it as false news. “I really don’t know where they got the information from. So many media men were here earlier with cameras over the same report.

But what I can tell you for now is that there was no such thing. It is false news”, Bassey told Vanguard. Meanwhile, many social media users that shared the story had attributed it to a post that originated from the former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode.

Fani-Kayode had in the said post, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to immediately call off EFCC from Onnoghen’s residence. He wrote: “Why have the EFCC surrounded the home of CJN Onnoghen and why are they seeking to arrest him? “These people want Nigeria to burn! Buhari call off your dogs before it is too late! “This is a democracy and not a gestapo state! In the name of God let this madness stop.”

The CJN is currently enmeshed in a legal battle with the Federal Government over the propriety of a six-count charge that was preferred against him before the Code of Conduct Tribunal, CCT, following his alleged non declaration of some of his assets.

Aside allegation that he failed to disclose his assets as prescribed by law, FG, in the charge that was filed by the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, accused the CJN of operating foreign back accounts. The prosecuting agency alleged that contrary to relevant laws regulating conduct of public office holders, the CJN, maintained a domiciliary foreign currencies account that comprised of Dollars Account, Pound Sterling Account and Euro Account.

FG’s plan to arraign him on the said charges was stalled on Monday following refusal of the CJN to appear before the Justice Danladi Umar’s led three-man panel tribunal to take his plea. Rather, Justice Onnoghen, whose travail was branded “a political witch-hunt” by the major opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, challenged the jurisdiction of the CCT to try him on any of the allegations.

He is contending that FG failed to abide by existing judicial precedent as encapsulated in a recent Appeal Court decision in Nganjiwa v Federal Republic of Nigeria (2017) LPELR-43391(CA), to the effect that any misconduct attached to the office and functions of a judicial officer, must first be reported to and handled by the NJC, pursuant to the provisions of the laws.

He argued that only after the NJC has pronounced against such judicial officer could prosecuting agencies of the Federal Government proceed to initiate a criminal proceeding. Consequently, placing reliance on a recent decision of the CCT on a similar charge FG lodged against another Justice of the Supreme Court, Sylvester Ngwuta, the CJN’s legal team, maintained that FG’s decision to sideline the NJC, stripped the tribunal off its jurisdiction to entertain the instant case.

Shortly after the CCT panel fixed January 22 to hear the CJN’s objection to his trial, the Abuja Division of Federal High Court, in a counter move, issued an interim injunction that forbade the tribunal from taking further steps in the matter, stressing that all the parties should maintain their status quo.

The court in the ruling that was delivered by Justice Evelyn Maha further slated Thursday to hear two separate suits that two groups lodged to challenge the CJN’s trial. Whereas the first suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/27/2019 was filed by incorporated ‎Trustees of the Centre for Justice and Peace Initiative, the second case marked FHC/ABJ/CS/28/2019 was lodged before the court by the Incorporated ‎Trustees of the International Association of Students Economists and Management.

Cited as Defendants in the suits were the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami, SAN, Chairman of the CCT, Danladi Umar, the National Judicial Council, the Inspector-General of Police, ‎Mr. Ibrahim Idris, and the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki. Anambra commences review of court rules It will be recalled that EFCC had in 2017, said it was not investigating the CJN.

The commission which made the clarification to douse widespread insinuation that it was being used to scuttle Onnoghen’s chances to secure the judicial top-job, however admitted that it indeed looked into some petitions against him and found them unmeritorious. “The commission wishes to state categorically that it is currently not investigating Justices Onnoghen and Kafarati. “

While Onnoghen was being considered for his present position, the commission received some petitions which were investigated and found to be without merit and discarded”, it stated.

President Muhammadu Buhari has Approved the Appointment of Adamu Mohammed as the acting Inspector General of Police.

Adamu has Served as the Commissioner Of Police in Enugu State and currently the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone Five, in Benin ,Edo State.

AIG Abubakar Adamu Mohammed is to take over from outgoing Inspector General Of Police Ibrahim Idris. Mr Mohammed was born on November 9, 1961. He enlisted in the police in 1986. He has a bachelor in geography.

He was at one time a director of peacekeeping operations. He is a former police commissioner in Enugu and was an AIG in charge Zone 5.He is currently a directing staff member at the National Institute of policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, near Jos, Plateau State.

His elevation would imminently see several deputy inspectors-general purged from service, an exercise that would be reminiscent of how Mr Buhari sacked DIGs when he named Mr Idris as IG in June 2016.

Olanipekun states equivocally that CJN Walter Onnoghen is not running away from the CCT but insists that the tribunal has no jurisdiction to hear the matter.

Aliyu Umar, SAN states that service was to done the CJNs Personal Assistant and there is no reason why the accused Justice Walter Onnoghen should not be in court for arraignment so he could plead guilty or not guilty.

"I don't know why we are dissipating so much energy on this."

- Defence Counsel, Olanipekun SAN says while insisting that service was not properly done on CJN, Justice Walter Onnoghen and that the CCT has no jurisdiction to hear the case.

Prosecutor wants service of case to be done at most this week to Justice Walter Onnoghen since he said it wasn't properly done initially. But Defence Counsel Olanipekun says that's too short. He is asking for 28th of January for proper service and resumed hearing.

Case adjourned to Tuesday January 22nd 2019 for proper service and appearance of Justice Walter Onnoghen in case of FG vs ONNOGHEN.

The Nigerian Airforce has announced the burial programme of the soldiers that lost their lives in the ill-fated Mi-35 Combat Helicopter Crash at Damasak, Borno State on 2 Jan 19.

The late crew members will be buried at the National Military Cemetery, Umaru Musa Yar'Adua Way, Abuja, on Jan. 8, 2019 at 9 am

It is with a heavy heart that I announce the death of the 5 crew members who were on board the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Mi-35M Helicopter which crashed in combat yesterday, 2 January 2019, while providing close air support to troops of 145 Battalion, Damasak in Borno State. The deceased personnel, whose remains have been recovered to Maiduguri, are:

a. Flight Lieutenant Perowei Jacob - Pilot in Command.
b. Flight Lieutenant Kaltho Paul Kilyofas - Co-Pilot.
c. Sergeant Auwal Ibrahim - Flight Technician.
d. Lance Corporal Adamu Nura - Gunner.
e. Aircraftman Meshack Ishmael - Gunner.

These gallant fallen heroes made the supreme sacrifice in the service of our Fatherland, for which the NAF, and indeed the entire Nation, owes them an unending debt of gratitude.

CLARIFICATION ON INVITATION OF MEDIA TRUST STAFF BY THE SECURITY AGENCIES

The Nigerian Army wishes to clarify on alleged invasion of Media Trust Headquarters in Abuja and regional office in Maiduguri. We would like to state that soldiers of the Nigerian Army along with elements of Nigeria Police Force and other Security Agencies were indeed at Abuja and Maiduguri offices of the publishing company to invite the staff of the company over its lead story on Sunday Trust publication, which divulged classified military information, thus undermining national security.

In it, the newspaper made disclosed details of planned military operations against the Boko Haram terrorists. The disclosure of classified security information amounts to a breach of national security and run contrary to Sections 1 and 2 of the Official Secrets Act.

It afforded the Boko Haram terrorists prior notice of our plans and giving them early warning to prepare against the Nigerian military, thus sabotaging the planned operations and putting the lives of troops in imminent and clear danger.

We would like to state that the invitation of those responsible for divulging military plans was done with the best of intention in order to make them realise the import of such acts to our national security.

We therefore advice all, particularly journalists, not to worry but engage in their responsive reportage and to be professional as the Nigerian Army has no intention of muzzling the press or jeopardising press freedom.

We however, wish to enjoin further that they should eschew jeopardizing national security in their reportage. We would not tolerate situation where a publication would consistently side with terrorists and undermine our National institutions.

We wish to appeal to all, especially the media, to join hands with the Nigerian military and security forces to end terrorism and insurgency in Nigeria. We would like to further assure that the invitation is for further investigation and if need be, all those culpable of jeopardising operations security will be prosecuted by the relevant law enforcement agency.

A Federal High Court, in Abuja, has refused an ex-parte application brought by Senator Dino Melaye to order the removal of police blockade on his residence.

Melaye approached the court through his lawyer, Nkem Okoro of the Mike Ozekhome (SAN) chambers, for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.

The court had subsequently fixed today for the hearing of the ex-parte application filed together with the enforcement of his fundamental human rights’ suit.

In the ex-parte application, Melaye prayed the court for an interim order of the court directing the police to vacate his residence and remove all blockades in front of the residence and allow his family and political associates to have access to him.

He also sought an order restraining the police from further threatening his life or putting his life in jeopardy pending the determination of the substantive suit.

He further sought the order of the court restraining the police from further arresting him, pending the hearing and determination of the substantive suit.

However, the judge, Justice N.E. Maha refused the application and ordered an accelerated hearing of the substantive suit. The matter was thereafter adjourned to January 14.

She said, in view of the fact that her leave to seat as a vacation judge would elapse on January 4, the case file would be transferred to the Chief Judge for re-assignment.

I saw three governors in Nigeria that the Lord will afflict with terrible sickness because they denied the workers their salary and the cries of these oppressed workers has filled a measure before the Lord. But if they don't do the needful till the end of February, the three of them will fall sick one after the other from the month of March and they will end up in unforgettable shame.

3. I asked the Lord if what he told me on January 1, 2018 concerning Buhari and Atiku has changed but God is not a talkative. I have pleaded the Lord to permit me conceal some revelations towards this general elections, so I will not speak further on who will win the presidential election. However, I saw two election results in circulation and a move for parallel government. The crisis did not last long, anyway.

4. I heard clearly from the Lord that none of the five major presidential candidates has solution to the problems of Nigeria. Then, I heard further that it remains six years for Nigeria to start entering her solution land.

5. I saw assassination plans on some Servants of God in Nigeria and a plan by a renown Servant of God to relocate outside Nigeria where he will be pronouncing curses from there but the Lord say such his Servant should not try it that he should rather be praying for the six years to come wherein we will arrive the solution land.

· SENATOR DINO MELAYE IS WANTED BY THE POLICE FOR CRIMINAL CONSPIRACY AND ATTEMPTED CULPABLE HOMICIDE, COMMITTED ON 19th JULY, 2018, WHEN SENATOR DINO MELAYE AND HIS ARMED THUGS ATTACKED POLICE PERSONNEL, SHOT AND WOUNDED SGT DANJUMA SALIU ON STOP AND SEARCH DUTY ALONG AIYETORO GBEDE, MOPA ROAD IN KOGI STATE.

· POLICE OPERATIVES DEPLOYED TO ARREST SENATOR DINO MELAYE IN HIS RESIDENCE WILL NOT RETREAT UNTIL SENATOR DINO MELAYE SURRENDERS HIMSELF FOR ARREST AND INVESTIGATION.

Senator Dino Melaye is wanted by the Police for a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Attempted Culpable Homicide, committed on 19th July, 2018, when Senator Dino Melaye and his armed thugs attacked Police personnel; shot and wounded Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, attached to 37 Police Mobile Force (PMF) on stop and search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State.

2. The Police operatives with a duly obtained Warrant of Arrest deployed to arrest Senator Dino Melaye in his residence in Abuja will not retreat until Senator Dino Melaye surrenders himself for arrest and investigation.

3. It is on record that the Police investigators submitted a Letter of Invitation dated 23rd July, 2018, signed by the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command addressed to the Clerk, National Assembly, Abuja, inviting Senator Dino Melaye to report on 26th July, 2018 at 1100Hrs at the Kogi State Police Command, CIID, Lokoja to answer to a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Attempted Culpable Homicide against him under investigation in the Kogi State Police Command.

The claim by the Senate President in the Media that the Police did not submit a letter of invitation to the Clerk of the National Assembly is therefore incorrect as can be seen on attached letter with acknowledgment stamp of the Clerk, National Assembly, Abuja “24 JUL 2018“. Despite this, Senator Dino Melaye bluntly refused to report himself to the Police till date.

4. For avoidance of doubt, attached to this Press Release are the copies of pictures of the shot Police Officer, Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, the Police Invitation Letter addressed to the Clerk of National Assembly, Abuja and the Medical Report from the Federal Medical Centre, Lokoja, Kogi State, confirming the admission of Sgt. Danjuma Saliu into the Hospital for treatment of the gunshot injury he sustained from the attack by Senator Dino Melaye and his armed thugs while on Stop and Search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State on 19th July, 2018.

5. The Police Officer, Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, is yet to recover from the gunshot injury he sustained during the attack and still under intensive medical care in the hospital.

6. The Force will ensure a thorough investigation into this matter while making sure that the rule of law prevails and that no suspect no matter how highly placed, involved in any criminal matter escape justice.

GENERAL INFORMATION
The following information would be on the website so that candidate could read them before completing their entries.
(1) Candidates should note that examination fees are not refundable.
(2) Candidates are to start their Registration by emailing their fingerprints.
(3) Entries must be accompanied with good quality (not “wait and get”) passport size photographs. Entries with unacceptable passport photographs will be rejected.
(4) Registration pin/code purchased in any location can be used for uploading entries from anywhere.

(5) Candidates should study carefully, the information on the website before registration.
(6) Candidates should study the Regulations and Syllabuses as well as the Timetable for the examination which they can download on the website
(7) Candidates who lose their registration pin/code will purchase another card.
( All candidates must go to their examination halls in mufti and without arms. No professional uniform of any kind will be allowed in the examination halls.
(9) The entire results of candidates who make more than one entry will be cancelled.
(10) Smoking is not allowed in the examination hall.

(11) Cellular phones and electronic organizers are not allowed in the examination halls.
(12) Involvement in examination malpractices are not allowed in the examination halls.
(13) No request for amendment/correction will be entertained or any information which candidate voluntarily gives at the point of registration after the conduct of the examination.

In a statement released on the official twitter of the ruling party, the APC, the party spokeman said Atiku has decided to attack the personality of the sitting President Buhari rather than focus on his programmes for Nigeria.

1. PDP presidential candidate, Atiku is exhibiting early signs of depression, resulting from obvious frustration. Consequently, he is unable to focus on his campaign.

2. Otherwise, Atiku should tell Nigerians why a discredited person like him should be elected as President instead of raising puerile allegations on a daily basis. President Buhari and APC, not his programmes for the country appear to be his main campaign issues.

3. Nigerians are desirous of campaign that focuses on issues that matter to them. For Atiku and his PDP co-travellers, the only interest is to grab power and continue where they stopped in their avarice.

4. The APC administration is eager to showcase the impressive achievements we have recorded in the last three and half years. This is the campaign that matters to us and this is what Nigerians are interested in.

5. The trajectory is exciting as we see a brighter future shaping up. We won't yield to the PDP's shenanigans. The obvious strategy of the PDP is to truncate the country's journey towards economic buoyancy and social stability. We will not play the PDP's game.

6. PDP is acting an anti-people's script. Nigeria President Buhari remains unshaken by the desperate efforts being made by Atiku and PDP to blackmail the APC government. Everyone who was involved in corrupt practices would be brought to justice.

7. PDP is not offering any alternative to the progressive course this government is pursuing. It is actually apparent that the party is not contesting the 2019 elections to redeem itself, least of doing any good for the country.

8. PDP simply wants to seize power to escape justice for the grievous crimes committed against the people of this country. Nigerians won't be fooled by the rapacious PDP gang. Never!
