ON MMM: ‘WE WILL RATHER NOT REMAIN AS WE WERE’

December 13, 2016 was a day they’ve all been waiting for, doomsayers, naysayers; oh how they relished the opportunity, oh how their hormonal levels were raised, it was the “I told you so” moment they had so much longed for. It was probably the best thing to happen to some of them in months, miserable fellows, in their warped mind-set and tinted realities, they would rather have everybody remained as they were.
These set of people, because of their stubborn resolve to not open their mind to learning/ re-learning and because of their too cautious approach ride on a high horse of sheer ignorance and will blare Ponzi scheme at every given opportunity even when confronted with facts and realities as regards MMM. This group of people would rather remain as they were while others around them are making progress; the only thing positive in their outlook is waiting for a day when they will have the opportunity to mock the fate of others, the opportunity to say with gusto “I was right”. They fail to realize that life itself is a risk, when you take risks, you win some and you lose some, not taking risks at all because of not wanting to lose makes one the ultimate loser. Even though some of them have been barely making ends meet and have directly or indirectly benefitted from the ‘MMM’ money they have so derided, this ephemeral moral victory is enough to fill their probably empty bellies.
What I know and I know so well is ‘’even if MMM crashes’’ and given the circumstances, I will still participate over and over again, a resolution that applies to millions of other participants who have imbibed the MMM ideology. I make bold to say that this is the only platform that has brought smiles to the faces of millions of Nigerians and made millionaires of out of them in such a short period of time!!! No government policy or initiative in recent times has brought more hope and succour in such a short time span. It has rather been a plethora of unfulfilled promises, dashed hopes, sorrows tears and blood. In actual fact, government has been the biggest Ponzi operator in Nigeria, robbing and ripping citizens off for the benefit of a corrupt and undeserving few. Folks that have seemingly lost all hopes and disconcerted with happenings around them now approach life with renewed confidence and enthusiasm, dead businesses now have new life injected into them, students have been able to pay their tuition, crimes have arguably been reduced and even the economy hasn’t been left out, with increased liquidity and trade volumes at a time when recession has almost stifled life out of the Nigerian economy.
I know of folks who barely had tens of thousands in their bank accounts who now have hundreds of thousands, not to talk of those that are now millionaires, who probably never had such hopes at least not anytime soon. Those naysayers would have rather we traded all of that and remain like we ‘were’.
Some believe that MMM participants are lazy and greedy folks, but the fact is amongst these participants are great minds, intellectuals and professionals that cut across different fields and sectors of the economy, contributing their own quota to the growth of the economy, in fact when one looks at the farthest right side of the Mavro section on the MMM platform, there is a space titled ‘dreams’, meaning that MMM expects you to pursue your dreams, goals and aspirations with what you make from the system. MMM only wants to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor, MMM only wants to make things easier for people when they pursue their dreams and aspirations. Some believe that the only way to make it in life is to work hard and harder, and anyone with riches that have not been seen/ viewed to work hard in their distorted realities must have cut corners or been a fraud. While this is not to cast away the place of working hard in pursuing one’s dream, it must be realised that hav
[/s]

Then one day ... Just one day it'll crash and you'll put smiles on the faces of those who for the first time , invested their money( oh I forgot.. their spare money) but lost them .

You'll console them with your own money which will be enough to go round all MMM losers

valdovas:
I hate the very fact that I have to wade into this MMM talk. For starters, I did NOT participate in the MMM scheme, even though I understood their business model.

My sole reason for commenting on this, is the annoying self-righteous, high-horse, whitewash talk coming from people. You hear people arrogantly declaring how the scheme was horrible and stupid, insulting those who participated, and aiming thinly veiled mockery at them.

My questions is this, to what end? I mean, for what purpose? Check well and you'll see all the warnings came from either of these 3 sets of people:

1. The angry: This set of people are actually comfortable in life, and somehow are bitter that some people of lower financial estates had the guts to want to change their financial fortune. Almost 40% fall in this category, and involves the banks who are angry that their fixed deposit customers are running away; the government people who actually would love to strike a deal with MMM for tax returns in exchange for legitimacy; and the plain wealthy people who just hate to see the poor feed himself.

2. The jealous: This set of people are usually not so comfortable financially, but are jealous that some of their peers and lower-downs had the balls to put their money in an unknown scheme in order to change their level financially. I don't know which percentage to quote, but considering the Nigerian factor, I'd say 50%. You know, from the jealous uncle, to the jealous landlord, to the jealous mates. The list is endless.

3. The sincere: This set of people actually care about the uncertainty of the MMM scheme, and their warnings are borne out of an honest desire not to see people lose their money. The banks, the government, and some religious people are sure not here. This is the 10% group. Bless them.

There's another group that I don't even know where to place them. The Religious Group. They say God told them that people who invested in MMM had their names struck out of the Book of Life. Liars they are. God told them nothing! And they would not go unpunished after using God's name in vain.

It is sinful to desire to see the downfall of others so you can say, "I told you". That's Satan's way of doing things, not God. Never God.

Furthermore, there are several reasons for feeling restrained from participating in anything. It could be God, your spirit, level of exposure, experience, etc. As a believer, please, if you aren't sure of which, do not pin an unrelated scripture to it and say "God said..." Rather, tell the truth and leave it at that.

Finally, I hope the scheme comes up in January -- it should actually -- so that people can pull their money.

Writer: Eke Diligence.
It still beats my imagination as how our so-called enlightened youths are so ignorant about the modus operandi of Ponzi schemes. ( Enlighten yourself more >>https://www.nairaland.com/3517058/why-think-mmm-not-helping)

It is sinful to desire to see the downfall of others so you can say, "I told you". That's Satan's way of doing things, not God. Never God.
Quoting the scripture wrongly is the height of misinformation! What more downfall are you encouraging than the downfall of those who will lose when the scheme finally crashes ?

Finally, I hope the scheme comes up in January -- it should actually -- so that people can pull their money.
This is the height of selfishness, wickedness and ignorance of how Ponzi schemes operate ! You want people to pull out come January ? Who will pay the pullers ? Ghosts ? Are you now aware that the payers of the pullers will be the losers ? Are the losers Gona be smiling ? If no.... How has the scheme helped them ?

I see most defenders of MMM as ignorant and selfish. Op has really set precedence grin

PoliticsCourt Orders Senator To Pay Newspaper Vendor N100k For Slapping Him by soldierdollar(op): 8:45pm On Dec 14, 2016
Justice Winifred Effiong of an Akwa Ibom state High Court has ordered former Senator Anietie Okon, to pay a newspaper vendor, Ndifereke Etim, N100,000 as damages for slapping him unjustly at the Akwa Ibom state government house in September 2015.

Etim, who sells newspapers had gone to the banquet hall of the Akwa Ibom Government House, Uyo, during the swearing-in ceremony of a new Chairman for the Akwa Ibom State Council of Traditional Rulers, to sell some newspapers when he ran to the Senator to sell some of his newspapers.

According to Etim, what he received from the Senator were hot slaps and accusation that he wanted to steal his wallet.

An embarrassed Etim who maintained his innocence, reported the matter to the state chapter of the Newspaper Distributors Association of Nigeria, who filed a civil suit against Aniete on his behalf.

Speaking to Premium Times, Etim said
“When he finished slapping me, he(Anietie) accused me of stealing his wallet. But God knows I am not a thief, I sell newspapers to take care of myself and my family. He didn’t even search me to see if I had his wallet on me or not.”
Delivering judgement in the suit today, Justice Winifred Effiong, ruled that the former Senator's action against Etim was degrading and unacceptable and was against his Etim’s right to the dignity of his person as guaranteed by Section 34(1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, as well as the African Charter on human and people’s right.

Justice Effiong ordered the Senator to pay Etim N100,000 as damages and also N50,000 as cost for litigation. He also granted an order of perpetual injunction, restraining the former senator or his agents from further breaching of the applicant’s fundamental human rights.

InvestmentWhy I Think MMM Is Not A "Helping" Scheme by soldierdollar(op): 4:23pm On Dec 13, 2016
"Why does the Federal government want MMM banned? A scheme Nigerians are using to help themselves? The national assembly are just too wicked! They are busy "chopping" our national cake but will not allow this God-sent scheme to see the light of the day. God Pass them" ... and a thousand and one more quotations showing how desperate and ignorant Nigerians could be about ponzi schemes.
It is no surprise as to how passionate Nigerians could be about get-rich-quick schemes considering the fact that the current recession is really biting hard. In fact the level of passion exhibited by Nigerians about this scheme has forced many participants to write open letters to Federal authorities warning them to desist from any attempt to be a log in the wheel of their "progress' . Some have become irrevocably too sure about the sustainability of the pyramid schemes, especially, MMM. I am not here to question the sustainability or otherwise of MMM scheme neither am I trying to pacify you to leave the scheme; I am here to tell you that MMM has not and will never improve the generality of life in Nigeria with the following facts.

(1) MMM has no central account. This well known fact should be a source of worry about the owners' source of income and the sustainability of the scheme. MMM does not not have direct access to your money and thus, does not invest it in order to grow it. Why is MMM being selfless and 'patriotic' in ensuring the smooth running of the scheme? How the heck does it gain from the scheme? Below is the answer to the puzzle.

(2) It may shock you to know that just like you and millions of other participants, nothing prevents MMM from "providing help" and "getting help" from a scheme they created. As the first investor in its own scheme, imagine the millions and chains of referrals in their 'downlines' and thousands of guiders that constitute its team. I may be wrong in the figures , but the number will be quite humongous. Is the amount of money MMM makes enough to pay millions of their participants 30-40 % returns on their investments and 10% to the referrer? Hell No! Then how the heck are they able to keep to their promise of settling investors?

(3) Liken MMM to a large mansion where you have to pay the occupants some money before you are allowed entry into the house. Once you are allowed into the mansion, you have to wait for another stranger who has to pay you 30% + 100% of your money before he could be allowed to live with you. Most times one stranger may not be able to foot the bill. He is merged with one or more strangers to pay you. In other words, the sustainability and longevity of the scheme will rely on the number of new tenants and the amount the new tenants are bringing to the table ( as well as the willingness of old tenants to renew their rent). Will this huge Mansion one day collapse? Or more likely, will this huge mansion ,one day be deserted? Definitely! How? Read below.

(4) Who pays the old tenants? New tenants or old tenants who are willing to renew their rent pay the old tenants. Literally, if you provide help by paying a tenant, the same help will be reciprocated to you with 30 to 40% bonus for being a good kid. Will there be a situation where I will provide help and not receive? Yes.. in the event that new tenants stop coming. But what can really discourage new members from coming?

(a) When everybody have become tenants. In the very near and imminent future, this will be the case.

(b) When the mansion( scheme) has become old such that new tenants decide to look for other houses (schemes) with better offers ( MMM united, MMM japan MMM Illorin) leaving old members stranded in an a state of panic.

(c) when old tenants refuse to renew their rents and decide to rent a house( scheme) elsewhere

(d) when the money new tenants pay as rent is smaller than what the old members are waiting to be paid- Old members paid millions of Naira but new tenants are bringing peanuts because of the reason below.

(e) when there is fear and uncertainty. "Will they ever unfreeze mavrodi accounts after a month? is this an end time sign?" This will of course decrease "investors confidence" and will either make new tenants to stop coming, reduce how much that is being invested or make old tenants not to renew their rents.

(f) When old members, from their profit start building their own mansions in form of houses, cars , business- thus cutting the chances of reinvesting in the scheme which will invariably reduce the amount of money in circulation.
What will be the fate of old tenants waiting to be provided help? Your guess is as good as mine. Will this result to the crash of the scheme? Yes. How soon? I do not know. Why do I think MMM is not a helping scheme? Read below.

(5) As you have now known or previously knew, MMM will one day crash but the date, hour, minute, second is uncertain. What if it crashes? Will the totality of Nigerians be happy? A big No . Why? Let me make a simple illustration. Let's say at the point A,B,C,D paid to E,F,G,H , the system crashes. This will create equal amount of Joy and sorrow. In other words, we may even have more mourners than "merriers" in most cases where many people are merged to pay few persons grin

What have I achieved by writing this epistle?

a) I have established that MMM and similar schemes are not cast with steel. They will one day crash.

b) I have succeeded in establishing that MMM does not improve the generality of the population. Where you rob peter to pay Paul and create equal helpers and stranded 'beggars' does not imply help.

c)I have succeed in reducing your passion for ponzi schemes which is typical of productive nations. Let us be more creative, innovative and productive. MMM has really lead to brain drain in our agile youths.

Is it biblically, Quaranically, morally right to rob peter to pay Paul? Share your thoughts.

7. Rosa and Josefa Blazek (43 years)

In 1878, Rosa and Josefa Blazek were born in Bohemia (or the modern day Czech republic) and were joined together at the spine. In fact, Rosa was able to give birth to a son in 1910 named Franz. The birth of Franz made the twins even more of a media sensation besides their acts in sideshows, as a vaginal birth from a conjoined twin was unheard of. The twins continued to perform in their acts, with baby Franz coming along. On March 30, 1922, both twins became ill with jaundice and died.

6. Lori and George Schappell (52 years and counting)

Originally born as Lori and Dori Schappell on September 18th, 1961 in Redding, Pennsylvania, these conjoined twins are attached at the head. Even though they are conjoined, they live very different (and interesting) lives. Dori disliked that her name rhymed with her sister’s and changed it to Reba. But in 2007, Dori/Reba revealed that she identified more as a male; he has changed his name to George and has since lived as a transgendered man. These twins had a rough upbringing and were even institutionalized when they were younger at a facility for those with mental handicaps, even though neither twin was affected intellectually by their condition. Lori and George now live in a two-bedroom apartment and can respect each other’s privacy and separate lives.

5. Millie and Christine McCoy (60 years)

This set of conjoined twins was born in 1851 to two slaves in North Carolina. They were sold at the age of 10 months and 14 months later were sold again to a showman who knew exactly what to do to showcase the girls and make a lot of money. Millie and Christine have been billed under numerous show names such as, “The Carolina Twins”, The Eighth Wonder of the World”, and “The Two-Headed Nightmare”. The girls were freed in 1863 when the Emancipation Proclamation came into effect; they were taken care of by their former ‘owner’ and performed with the Barnum circus. Millie and Christine died in 1912 from tuberculosis.

4. Daisy and Violet Hilton (61 years)

In the 1930’s, Daisy and Violet Hilton were one of the biggest sideshows and vaudeville acts. Born in 1908, the girls were fused at the pelvis and conjoined at the hips and buttocks, while sharing no major organs. At the young age of 3, the girls joined the show business circuit and became skilled in numerous forms of dancing and musical instruments. They successfully sued their managers in 1931 and were able to go out on their own with their act. All the while, Daisy and Violet had numerous affairs, short marriages, and failed attempts to get a marriage license. Their story has inspired numerous films, as well as a Broadway musical called, “Side Show”. The twins died in 1969 after coming down with the Hong Kong flu and were found dead in their home. It was believed that Daisy died first, and Violet died about 2-4 days later.
HealthTen Longest Living Conjoined Twins by soldierdollar(op): 4:36pm On Dec 10, 2016
Twins on their own are a fascinating medical phenomenon but nothing brings more attention than conjoined twins. For centuries, conjoined twins were medical marvels that stunned the communities around them, and babies born conjoined still often cause a media frenzy. The latest is the birth of conjoined twins Hope and Faith, who share one body with normal limbs, but are joined at the skull with two separate brains and two faces. There have been numerous accounts of conjoined twins who have had separation surgery, a high-risk surgery where the outcomes can be either miraculous or tragic. Indeed, often the risk is too great and conjoined twins will choose to stay connected rather than take the gamble of surgery.

When conjoined siblings prepare to go through separation surgery, it seems that the world waits with baited breath. When they survive the surgery, however, the twins tend to fall out of the spotlight. But when they fail to survive, it is truly a tragedy. In the event that there is no surgery, there is the chance for conjoined twins to live their lives, even marry and have children.

The odds of being borned conjoined are 1 in 40,000. The rate of survival for conjoined twins is between 5 and 25 percent, with many stillborn and many not surviving past a day old. What is particularly remarkable is some of the longer living conjoined twins born in the 1800’s and 1900’s, before the advanced medical care of the modern age. Here we’ve listed ten sets of conjoined twins that have defied the odds and survived to live full lives. After the attention and the frenzy died down, how did these conjoined twins live the rest of their lives? Read on to find out.
10. Abigail and Brittany Hensel (24 years and counting)

Abigail and Brittany Hensel are miraculous twins, born in Minnesota in 1990. From the waist up, they each have an arm, a head, a neck, a heart, and a set of lungs. From the waist down, they share all of their organs. Abigail and Brittany first appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show when they were six, and then ten years later they became the center of a documentary on TLC. They are able to live full lives, including getting a driver’s license. While the twins are conjoined, they have separate identities and personalities. When one gets sick, the other can still remain healthy. As they have grown older, people have wondered what would happen if one of them got married or one of them had children. Abigail and Brittany’s parents hope for that future for their girls but are taking it all one day at a time.

9. Lucio and Simplicio Godina (28 years)

This set of conjoined twins hail from the island of Samar in the Philippines, born in 1908. In their case, they were only joined by skin and cartilage, and their conjoining was flexible to the point to where one could lie down while the other was still standing up. They shared no bones or organs and were attached at the buttocks. The twins began working as a sideshow act as children and were discovered in Coney Island at the age of 11. After a few labor law mishaps, the twins were taken in by a wealthy foster father. When the twins were older, they married identical twins. Lucio developed pneumonia in 1936 and later died. An emergency surgery was conducted to separate Lucio, and while initially thought to be a success, he died 12 days later from spinal meningitis.

8. Biddenden Maids (34 years)

Eliza and Mary Chaulkhurst were believed to have been born in the year 1100 and were joined at the shoulders and hips. While their existence has been debated, there are numerous works of art that depict the young women, who are believed to have lived to be 34. Mary had fallen ill and died, and doctors wanted to separate Eliza to save her life, but she declined the surgery and chose to die with her sister, which occurred six hours later. The legend of the twins has since become one of media interest and tourist attractions based on the twins’ legacy have followed.

Corrinthians:
How would the drone stop people from rigging or killing themselves? I really dont understand. So a single drone is gonna monitor the entire state, right?

The only thing that can forestall rigging in any Nigerian election is a reorientation of the electorates and the contestants themselves.

Foreign AffairsSouth Korean President, Park Geun-hye Impeached by soldierdollar(op): 6:21pm On Dec 09, 2016
South Korean first female President, Park Geun-hye, who sparked a nationwide protest after she was accused of using her position to influence and give financial benefits to her friend, Choi Soon-Sil, has been impeached by the Parliament.
The motion to impeach her was passed by 234 votes in favour of her impeachment against 53 votes who were against the impeachment. The number of votes reveals that some members of her party voted in favour of her impeachment. Following her impeachment, her authority as a president has been passed down to the prime minister, Hwang Kyo-ahn.

After the votes, Park went on national television to apologize for the chaos she has caused
"I created this national chaos with my carelessness". she said
However, her case would be taken before the Constitutional court who have only 180 days to make a decision. If at least six out the court's nine judges approves the decision, she would be stripped down of her position and another election will be held within 60 days

PoliticsAPC Rally: Don't Export Non-payment Of Salaries To Rivers State, Wike Tells APC by soldierdollar(op): 12:17pm On Dec 09, 2016
Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, has asked APC governors not to export their behavior of non-payment of salaries to Rivers state. The APC governors were in the state yesterday to campaign for their party candidates in tomorrow, Saturday December 10th, legislative rerun elections. Wike said this in a statement released by his media aide, this morning. Read after the cut...

Rivers State governor , Nyesom Wike has berated APC Governors for refusing to pay salaries to their civil servants and pensioners , saying that they will not be allowed to export hardship from their states to his state.
Flagging off the construction of Elimgbu-Atali Road , Rumuokoro Market and Motorola Park and the Psychiatric Hospital in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area on Thursday , Governor Wike said that APC Governors represent the failure of governance in some states.
He said that the APC Governors who campaigned in Rivers State were owing their workers between 8 months to one year of unpaid salaries.
He said : “These APC governors who came to Rivers State are examples of failed governance . Benue State Governor , Samuel Ortom is owing workers for one year. Plateau State Governor , Simon Lalong is owing 13 months, Bauchi State Governor has refused to pay workers for 14months.
“Is that what they want to export to Rivers State. They should keep their non payment of salaries. We are up to date in terms of payment of salaries. Our people are enjoying quality projects. I have not heard any of them commissioning projects.”
Speaking further, Governor Wike said: “In Benue State, Fulani people are killing them everyday. Governor Ortom is too scared to defend his people and he is here to campaign.
“These APC governors are beneficiaries of Amaechi’s corruption. Amaechi stole our resources and used the funds to sponsor Lalong, Abubakar of Bauchi State, Ortom of Benue State and the APC National Campaigns”.
Governor Wike said that the Kano State Governor, Ganduje failed to set up a Commission of Inquiry to investigate who killed the Resident Electoral Commissioner of Kano State and his family.
The governor commended Rivers people for staying away from the APC Rally , since the party has notging to offer.
He said the APC is not on ground, hence they are planning to rig. He urged the people of the state to vote for PDP, adding youths should defend the votes of all constituencies.
