[size=13pt]In my company, i employ only first class graduates...not because they are smart but they are fully dedicated to the job..we have thousands of people with second class and they are just your average indisiplined nigerians...it takes serious dedication to make a firt class and that is the kind of spirit i want in my company.....i also employ mostly irreligious people and atheist,agnostic,deists etc because they are rational thinkers, better behaved,and not cut out for the bullshit called faith.....they work for me and me alone and i dont have to share loyalty with an imaginary helper from the sky.....i have a strict no alcohol at work policy and i dnt tolorate people that do drugs except for marijuana lovers although not the heavy users[/size]

No doubt , it takes dedication to be a first class graduate . But if you anchor your criteria on grades alone , you might be disappoited .

My brother made 4.48 and the best graduating in the FACULTY . Am sure if he had applied in your company he would have been shown the door meanwhile , he has the mental , social and academic balance to handle any Job as regards his field.
I graduated from electrical engineering where the so-called "gurus" lack practical knowledge about engineering but are excellently performing in theoretical analysis .

They cram, they memorize and they pour and pass without making attempt to relate it to real life situations. Most of them had their final year projects designed and constructed by fellow students who are in lower class .

Any reasonable employer should base his criteria on

* what one can offer . This can be determined during interviews and written exams .

*Job experience.

* innovative skills . A student in my class designed an electronic device used as a security tool to monitor suspicious movements in our department using proximity sensors . His design won him several awards . He graduated with a 2:2 and was employed immediately by a notable car tracking company

I understand your company may be a law or cooperate firm where only "Biro" works are necessary as opposed to field work .
