Christianity EtcRe: Video Of How Synagogue Church Guest House Collasped Plus Aircraft Hovering by soldierdollar(m): 2:12pm On Sep 14, 2014
nora544: Sorry I watch the video 3 times and the aircraft has nothing to do.

Than in the city i live we must have this every month because sometime the plains have to fly over my city and some big planes go down that you feel they will just hit the next house.

What i see in this video, that shows that something with the building was not okay perhaps they didnot use much steel for the buttless so with the time the building will collaps.

He want that his followers and all nigerian believ this fake story from him.

Every engineer know that without steel you cannot build a house like this. Also when they didnot use much cement and less steel it could happen.
Were you told he did not use steel ?

Stewpid Mods . whoever moved this thread AGAIN to the front page is very silly ... No apologies . Resurrecting a thread that was created in 2009 to spite TB Joshua a few days after the collapse of his building is an act of cruelty.

Thread should be pulled down and apologies tendered to the general public .

JohnnySarz: Jounalists be like "I have passion for my Job" now here's the result.. This is a warning to other jounalists to stop trying to capture a gun battle.. If he had succeeded people would have still critisized the video.. So why risk your life?
Guy park well jhor . you no read story well ? The guy that was killed was a bokoharam sympathizer , employed by bokoharam and shares the same ideologies with bokoharam . He was neverafraid of of death as he holds the belief of meeting 7 boobious virgins in heaven. He only knows how to handle camera and that's how he was branded their journalist . he never studied journalism .

No sane journalist in Nigeria will risk his head capturing war scenes in the midst of heavy bombardments.

HealthRe: Ebola: West-African Nations Approach Lagos For Help. by soldierdollar(m): 4:41pm On Sep 12, 2014
manny4life: Technically, it could. According to the U.S. Constitution, a state or its entity may enter with foreign entities cultural or economic agreement that does not affect foreign policy or security, and WILL NOT make or sign treaties. That's solely the power of Congress and President respectively. As long as U.S. and that country have a trade relationship which is part of the treaty, then it's possible.
Then how about Nigerian constitutionhuh??

EducationRe: The Wrong And Annoying Use Of The Article " An" by soldierdollar(op): 10:02am On Sep 12, 2014
lonngmann: There is something not so clear abt the use of 'an'. it seems it depends on the sound dat starts the noun it is used with rather than the first letter as most of us were taught. I remember dat at the end of dis mnet series 'edge of paradise' they do write 'An Mnet Production'
I stand to be corrected doh, I am not an English student, I am studying an engineering course too.
Yes . it is the sound that determines the use the article and not the letter. It is normally used when the sound is vowel .. "An Mnet " is correct owing to the fact that "Mnet" is pronounced "Emnet"
EducationThe Wrong And Annoying Use Of The Article " An" by soldierdollar(op): 9:26am On Sep 12, 2014
I have come across a lot of posts , especially here on nairaland with the wrong use of the article, "an." These people have been inclined to believe that any word that begins with the letter "h" should be proceeded with the article ,"an" . I don't know if it annoys you but it annoys me a lot angry . These are the few cases I can remember :

1. My brother bought an house in a swampy area of Lagos
2. He became an hero by saving the small boy from the fire .
3. We had an heated argument over which of the celebrities was more beautiful .

This can slow down a reader's comprehension; he keeps repeating the sentence , wondering if he's missing something

The funny thing is that these set of guys will be free styling with it thinking they're speaking advanced English angry

Am not an English teacher , in fact I studied electrical engineering but I have come to make this little observation and wish every culprit takes correction .

Did you read the part where the op said he discovered after his two front tyres were removed or that he was charged 40k for what is usually 8-10k and I said he should have bargained because then he was already stranded. Friend of his educated him indeed grin ewu Gambia! It's because of children like you that the standard of waec and jamb is dropping in the country... You need to start from the basis, verbal aptitude and quantitative reasoning since you can't even read and comprehend a simple post. What da hell!
Hahahaha another dumb mother angry

You no do comprehension well for jamb at all. grin

After his two tyres were removed doesn't mean he discovered it immediately after his tyres were removed. The space of time "after" could even mean when he had gotten home.

Just like saying , " after I was robbed , I realized I could have averted it by leaving my laptop and wallet at home ". This doesn't mean he realized his mistake IMMEDIATELY he was robbed.

"or that he was charged 40k for what is usually 8-10k"
Sister , I can see that the phrase " what is usually 8-10k" Na em de confuse you . grin This is a story of his experience. Op could have known the actual price by taking a drive to the market and inquiring of the actual price after the incident . He wasn't saying he knew the price on the spot where he was duped ! He must have done his research before creating this thread . I no know how I go fit explain am again make you understand.

I am hot tempered as I stammer slightly. I have had lots of experience in my hot-temper encyclopedia that I began to work on it. It affected me socially as I did not condone tease from my " friends " . any slight jokes meant to marr me will be repelled with a stiff bark and in most cases , with an automatic slap ! Kpawai ! shocked Naturally , this had to scare people away as I wasn't an approachable type . I was forced to work on my temper and all the prodigal friends are back grin

sweettease: Oga, calm down and stop being a tribalist cos I'm not even Igbo, it was obvious he will spend money but 113k for what wasn't faulty? Those guys are usually cheap criminals that would have done it for less than half of what he paid if he had gone about it the right way especially since he realised what they were doing, do you even know the situation I've gone through? No one is saying he should make money his priority when his kids are there but if you don't know how to be street wise in Nigeria, you will end up a mugu one too many times.
Are u even dumb ? undecided He knew it wasn't faulty and he had to spend his money ? Can't you see he was duped into believing his rims were faulty by splashing oil on them ? If he had known the actual price he wouldn't have paid 10 times the actual price .

Your suggestion sounded childish . I mean , if you think he knew he was being duped ( or he knew his car wasn't faulty ) , then why on earth will you advise him to bargain with them ? Are u going to bargain with people if u knew they were cheap criminals as u described them ?
Like asking your son , " why did you fail question number two in maths ?" Will he fail it if he knew the answer ?

He only realized he has been duped , maybe cause he got home and a friend of his educated him.

BusinessRe: Opening A Pharmacy by soldierdollar(m): 9:54pm On Sep 04, 2014
spicie: smileyHEllo Nairalanders,
Pls I need an advice or Your opinion, I want to open a pharmacy in nigeria with 2 million naira, do u think it will be enough for a start?
Secondly, What are the procedures? Are there disadvantages? SINCERE REMARKS PLS.
i cannot categorically tell you how much you need as a start-up capital. Pharmacy shops are faced with the challenges of competition and location. Location really matters a lot. Drugs are commodities with expiry date and if you really don't want some expired stocks, you should put location into consideration.
Am telling you from experience. I once worked in my brother's pharmacy in Benin city. Actually I participated actively in setting the business. He invested over N7m ( seven million naira) in setting up the business. The shop was greatly furnished and all the gadgets installed. The shelves were tightly filled with drugs. The shop was well spaced( 3 bedroom flat with ) and well air-conditioned. The cleaners made sure there were not even a speck of sand on the tilled floor. In fact, everything seemed perfect until things turned bad. We waited for customers to start trooping in. The first few weeks was bad. We assumed it was normal for a shop at its infancy stage of growth. But things turned sour as the condition started degenerating into months. Customers were scanty and on a few occasion, we had to sell the drugs below the cost price. Salaries were paid to the Pharmacist and a nurse, rents were paid, Electricity and Sanitation bills paid but the returns from the shops were not enough to offset these bills. The shop was experiencing low patronage and the expiry dates were drawing closer. Looking at our shop, one would expect massive inflow of customers but the irony was too obvious. All the drugs were auctioned and taken to other pharmacy shops for sale far below its cost price. That was as a result of bad location.

Anyway, he has relocated and he is doing fine now. I studied electrical engineering and I designed him a powerful tool ( though software based) which he uses to monitor his drugs.
This tool contains the database of all the drugs in his shops and alerts him when any drug is close to expiring. This tool informs him when a drug is running out of stock. Tells him which drugs make the highest/lowest sale, yields the highest/lowest profit, attracts the highest/lowest demand. It can also send these data to a designated email address. With this tool, the sales girls do not need to write the items sold in a note. She only needs to select the drug she wants to sell from a drop down list, input the quantity and hit the enter button. The whole calculation is done like the total amount realized from sale, the quantity of the drug remaining in stock... etc. This tool also has receipt printing feature and can print receipts on demand. The tool is just an MS EXCEL based tool and you only need to install EXCEL in your computer to use it. With this tool, he is capable of knowing at a glance, the overall performance of his business as it tells him how much profit he makes in a day, best selling items, how much item he has in stock, when to reorder, etc. Interestingly , it can alert distributors via mail when the particular drug they supply you is running out. For example, If a distributor supplies you Paracetamol, he gets email alert whenever you are about to sell off all the quantities of paracetamol in your stock.
This tool also tells him the individual profit each drug contributes to the overall profit, tells him the demand rate of each drug while highlighting drugs with low demand. with this tool, he is a better Oga of his shop...... enough stories grin

if you are "interested" , I can give you the database of most of the drugs you might need with their individual standard cost price and selling price grin

As I said , location is very important. A narrow room at the nerve center of the town is better than a flat, with all its comfort in a residential area.

Who cares what you think?

I fully agree with the OP, underwear couls be simply as torture, it is easier to get rid of panties but for bra, we have to keep managing.
please tell your sister to visit me without panties. grin but not when she's menstruating before she pours venom on my floor grin

firstEVA: “Wearing no undergarments – or just cotton ones – allows the external genitals to dry and reduces bacteria growth that could otherwise make its way into your urethra and cause a bladder infection,” says Dr. Sherry Thomas, an OB-GYN and surgeon at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, California on CNN’s fast and easy tips.

other Pros of Going Commando

1. Better Air Circulation

2. Less Laundry and Clothing Expense

3. Going Commando Is Green

Now, i made a comment some months back ( a comment which no longer exist due to the Nairaland hack ish) to the fact that i go out without underwear sometimes, and i was attacked left right and center, some even saying stuffs like, "for quick action" e.t.c. now hope yall see it's benefits undecided
please wear underwears. The bolded are too flimsy to serve as an excuse. If your going to justify yourself, please use better reasons.

Underwears include also bra. If you are going to do away with the two, I will simple describe you as "loose" .if they give you rashes, please choose another underwear material.
