Sexyrosey:
The Loneliness No One Talks About

It’s a different kind of pain to feel lonely while lying next to someone who is supposed to love you.
To be married, yet feel emotionally single.
To wake up every day craving affection, attention, and connection… and still go to bed empty.

People think loneliness only comes from being alone.
But sometimes it comes from being with someone who no longer sees you, hears you, or desires you.

I miss being wanted.
I miss being touched with intention, spoken to with softness, loved with effort.
I miss feeling like I matter.

I’m tired of pretending I’m okay.
Tired of acting strong when inside I feel invisible.
Tired of pouring love into a space that feels cold and silent.

This is not about perfection.
It’s about presence.
About romance.
About feeling chosen, not just tolerated.

The hardest part is knowing that I’m still capable of love, passion, and deep connection — but I’m living in a place where none of it is returned.

And that kind of loneliness… hurts more than being alone ever could.
The issue with you women is that when the finally does these things, you will take it for granted and in the process pushing him away

Celebrities › Why Wizkid’s Stardom Can’t Cast A Shadow On Fela's Revolution by Solofresh2(op): 4:38pm On Jan 21
Let us be clear from the outset: Wizkid, born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, is a phenomenal success story. A Nigerian boy with a golden voice who scaled the global pop Olympus, who commands stadiums, whose “Essence” became a continental summer anthem and a bridge to Billboard charts. His achievements are numerical, streaming records, platinum plaques, and prestigious collaborations. He is, by these modern metrics, a giant. And yet, when placed before the titanic, unyielding shadow of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, he appears precisely as what he is: a brilliant, but passing spark next to an eternal, raging flame.

The comparison itself seems almost unfair, a category error. Wizkid is an artist of sensation; Fela was an architect of conscience. Wizkid’s primary terrain is the club, the party, the intimate vibe. His music, irresistibly smooth, is crafted for enjoyment, for escape, for the sweet spot between dance and romance. Fela’s primary terrain was the ideological battlefield. His music—a relentless, hypnotic, polyrhythmic assault of Afrobeat—was a weaponized vehicle for liberation theology. The Shrine, his nightclub, was not merely a venue but a parliament of the people, a courtroom where the government stood accused, and a sanctuary for the disenfranchised. Can you imagine a Wizkid concert where the star is arrested, beaten, or his mother thrown from a window for the ideas his music proclaims? The very thought is absurd, and that absurdity measures the chasm between entertainment and insurrection.

Wizkid sings of love, luxury, and lifestyle. His artistry lies in the perfection of a vibe. Fela sang of oppression, corruption, and pan-African consciousness. His artistry lay in the fearless articulation of truth to power. A Wizkid song asks, “Do you love me? Are you grooving?” A Fela composition demands, “Who is responsible for the suffering of the masses?” He was not a pop star; he was a social force, a philosopher-king with a saxophone, who lived the revolution he preached, marrying 27 wives at once as a critique of bourgeois marriage and facing down military dictators at the cost of his own safety and freedom.

Musically, Wizkid stands on a globalized, digital production palette—a fusion of Afrobeats, R&B, and dancehall, sleek and optimized for streaming. Fela created a genre. Afrobeat is a precise, complex architecture: the foundational groove of Tony Allen’s drums, the cyclical basslines, the call-and-response horns, and the sprawling, 20-minute compositions designed not for a playlist, but for a trance-like state of musical and political immersion. Wizkid is a masterful user of a pre-existing global pop language. Fela was the inventor of a radical, self-contained sonic universe.

This is not to dismiss Wizkid’s cultural impact. He is a flag-bearer of the modern Afrobeats to the world movement, a source of immense pride, and a template for global success. But his impact is largely cultural and commercial. Fela’s impact was existential. He defined what it meant to be a resistant African in a post-colonial world. He shaped political thought, inspired generations of activists globally, and his very existence was a challenge to the status quo. His music was not background noise; it was the soundtrack to a struggle.

In the end, to claim Wizkid is a match for Fela is to confuse scale for significance, popularity for power, and chart position for historical weight. Wizkid is a magnificent chapter in the story of Nigerian pop—a chapter of global triumph and sweet melodies. But Fela is the entire library. He is the foundation, the struggle, the raw, unvarnished truth upon which the house is built. Wizkid decorates the house beautifully, but he does not question its foundation. Fela did, and was willing to burn it down to build a new one.

Wizkid’s star shines brightly in the night sky of contemporary music. But Fela is the sun—a raging, unforgiving, life-giving force whose light defined an era and by which all subsequent Nigerian music must, inevitably, be measured. The spark, for all its beauty, is no match for the forge.

Fela was more of a political activist than a musical artist so yes, Wizkid is bigger.

I was around 9yrs old when fela passed and all his songs I've ever listened to was about "Obasanjo did this IBB did that".

Fella is not a musical artist.

Romance › Why I Don't Feel It When A Lady Turns Me Down After Asking Her Out by Solofresh2(op): 8:27pm On Jan 14
Hello fellow nairalanders.... Trust you are doing well
There is something that I have come to observe about myself and my relationship with the opposite sex and I would like to share it here.
Am currently in a relationship with three ladies right now though am not ready to take it serious because am still young. Am 25. I own a house with two cars though and I own lands too.I am currently a banker(marketer). I am very good at saving. Infact I can go hungry just to save money.
I noticed that there are girls I ask out and from their body language, they aren't interested in me for a relationship and there are some that even before I ask them out, they are already showing their green lights grin and I will be like the same me that this particular girl is not giving attention is who gets loved by another girl.
There is this particular girl that can't do without me. She would call me everyday. Mind you, I don't do broke girls. I go for girls that work. Two from my girls are bankers (customer service and cash and teller) the third one is a fashion designer and she is from a wealthy home and that is what draw me to her and this third girl is the one that likes me so bad lol. I don't apply emotions around these girls though.
I still want to be on my own though. I mean, I don't want to work under anyone in the future.
Well my point is, if a girl rejects you, another girl will always find you attractive no matter what. You just haven't found her and you might have without knowing

First of, you shouldn't have double texted her. You should have gone straight to the point with your hi.
Secondly, her reply showed low effort after you triple texted. She might have judged from your profile pic etc. As for me, that is a red flag.
As for her asking about what you do, just like that, is not a sign of genuine interest

Sorry to say but if I find myself in this situation, then she is a red flag

Romance › Re: If You Get Rich Please Try Avoid The Poor For Your Own Good. by Solofresh2: 3:56pm On Jan 12
bigpriik:
To avoid stories that touch once you start making money avoid the poor for your own good, I mean both male and female, make friends or date only your level, it's not pride or arrogance it's self security, we live in a very poor country and people are desperately looking for who to leech on and take advantage , Nigeria has gotten to the stage of survival of the fittest the country is now a jungle, you and I know Nigeria is full of envious and jealous people some can go the extreme to hurt you if they smell you are doing better than them.

Recently I started a small food delivery business in school and it has being doing very well, lots of people discouraged me when I started but I remained stubborn and continued consistently, sometimes I make 15k,10k and on better days I make 20k daily ,people noticed the changes in me and all of a sudden everyone wants to be my friend male and female , I became the first choice whenever they need money and help ,I was giving and giving until I borrowed sense and start giving them gap, this 2026 I have fully activated my introvert mode no more friends till I reach my financial goal.
You know, I can't even argue with this. It's not theory for You.It's what you literally lived. You tried being open, and the result was people seeing you as a wallet first and a person second.

What you're describing isn't arrogance, it's operational security. When you're building something in an environment where scarcity is the norm, your peace, focus, and resources become your most critical assets. Letting just anyone have access to them is like leaving your foundation unguarded.

Your story about the business is the perfect example. People discouraged you, then when you succeeded, they switched to 'How can I benefit?' That shift proves your point: many aren't looking for mutual growth, they're looking for a life raft, and they'll cling to yours even if it sinks you both.

Calling Nigeria a 'jungle' might sound harsh, but the 'survival of the fittest' mentality is real when systems fail. Protecting yourself from envy and constant demands isn't just about money; it's about protecting your mental space and momentum. That 'introvert mode' you've activated? That's not isolation; that's you building a sanitary corridor around your goals. You're filtering out distractions and potential sabotage to actually get there.

So, I agree completely. It's not about looking down on anyone. It's about recognizing that not every season is for fellowship, some are strictly for foundation-laying. You befriend and date your level not out of pride, but because at that level, you find people who understand the value of what you're building and won't see it as a community snack. Right now, your focus is your most valuable currency. Guard it.

Romance › Re: This Lady Must Be Sick by Solofresh2: 3:24pm On Jan 12
Eddodoh:
This lady must be sick to think that I will marry her. We were good B4 I traveled out of the city. Good vibes, nice time and all that.
She showed me love and everything but deep down, I know that I won't marry her.

There was a time I felt like taking the relationship serious but the fact that she have two kids and a single mother, discourages me. Also, I know the father of her kids. They lived together B4 she ended things with him. Another reason is that my friends won't support the relationship cos I even hide the affair with her from them.

While I was out of town, I got to know that she got entangled with one of my friends. When I bursted her by letting her know that I am aware of her affair with my friend. She denied initially but bcuz my friend's real babe that told me about them was giving me every detail about them. So, she later admitted that they were dating.

Recently, she has being calling and apologizing that she was confused and that my absence at that time made her fell into the affair. She left the town last year to Delta state where she worked and have moved to Lagos (currently work at the Island) where I also reside at the moment with the hope of meeting me.

She has being calling and arranging for a meet up. She even has the guts to ask me about my plans towards marrying her.
I just told her that until we see. I am thinking of telling her to move on with her life but I feel I should not tell her instead, keep her to use to cure konji.

What do u guys think about it? Your opinion is welcome.
You’re considering “keeping her to cure konji”, that’s using her for sex while knowing you’ll never commit. That’s a weak move. It keeps you emotionally distracted, lowers your own self-respect, and blocks you from finding a woman without this much baggage and betrayal history.
Next time she calls, be direct but calm. Tell her your intentions
Then cut contact

Spoken like a true GenZ..... like you said, "If shit happen, no dust am... BAG AM, LABEL AM, SELL AM ONLINE."Truthfully you fit give your pikin dis advise?
I hear you, OG. You think this one na new generation madness? Na you dey yarn like person wey never see market before.
Make I ask you: the original "bag am, sell am" na who invent? Na my generation? Abeg, make we no joke.
Na the same generation wey sell country oil block for $20.
Na thesame generation wey package military rule as "patriotism" and sell am.
Na thesame generation wey see political disgrace, bag am as "exile," label am "asylum seeker," come dey give interview for BBC.
Na thesame generation wey turn ethnic crisis to bestselling memoir.

You think say we invent the market of shame? WE JUST GET NEW PLATFORM. Before na newspaper and television, now na TikTok and X. Before na "grant interview," now na "go live." The game na the same. Only the pitch don change.
You ask if I fit give my pikin this advice. My answer: I NO NEED GIVE AM. By the time my pikin reach 10, THE WORLD DON ALREADY TEACH AM. E go see influencer wey leak tape enter Bentley. E go see politician wey forge certificate become minister. E go see pastor wey collect offering buy private jet. E GO SEE SAY "SHAME" NA CURRENCY WEY SOME PEOPLE GET, OTHERS SPEND.

My pikin go ask me: "Daddy, why dem dey disgrace this person online but im dey fly private?" Wetin I go tell am? Make I lie? Or make I show am the REAL FORMULA:
Get Attention (by any means),
Monetize Attention (by any means),If they attack you, monetize the attack (by any means),Repeat.

So, OG, I no go advise my pikin to sell shame. I GO TEACH AM TO READ THE MARKET. I go show am say some shame na liability, some shame na asset. The difference na in the branding and the buyer.
You dey talk like say moral na straight line. For the marketplace of life, MORAL NA PRICE TAG. E dey differ from customer to customer.

My final answer: I no give am advice. I GO EQUIP AM. With sense, with thick skin, and with the wisdom to know when to wear shame as armor and when to sell am as souvenir.
The world don change. We never change am. We just dey sell inside am.

Life is not 1 + 1 = 2 .... except for tye favoured Ones !

If Life wan treat ur fvck Up ... You will be messed Up!

Thus always watch your today, past and tomorrow but if shit happens just dust Am and walk On .... Many Better things ahead!
You talk life no be 1 + 1 = 2. CORRECT! Na 1 + 1 = "GO AND SETTLE AM FOR COURT!" Na so e dey.

"Favoured ones"? Brother, who be the favoured one? Na the one wey dey USE the fuckup turn am to fuel. The one wey fuckup don show for Google front page, but im bank account don hit seven digits. Dem no treat am, dem PAY am. Na so.

You talk say "if life wan treat your fuckup..." Abeg, make we no dey gentle. LIFE NO DEY TREAT FUCKUP. LIFE DEY AUCTION AM. The highest bidder shame, money, clout na im go carry am. You dey talk "messed up" like say na punishment. For some people, na BRANDING.
"Dust am and walk on"? My guy, you still dey 2005. New model na: "PACKAGE THE DUST, SELL AM AS LIMITED EDITION 'MY COME-UP STORY' NFT, THEN WALK ON WITH THE MONEY." You think say dem dey dust shame? Dem dey POLISH AND MONETIZE am.
You dey talk about watch your today, past, and tomorrow. WETIN YOU DEY WATCH? Na to dey DIRECT the film wey dey play! You be actor, producer, and marketer for your life movie. If scene bad, edit am, add soundtrack, sell am as "raw and real."
The "better things ahead" wey you dey yarn, na the same "better things" wey dey make person pour milk for bath-tub for Instagram. Tomorrow dey sweet, but TODAY'S TRENDING TAG NA IM DEY BUY TOMORROW'S RICE.
So your advice sweet for ear, but for this internet jungle, na survival of the SHAMELESS. The rule no be "watch your step." The rule na: "MAKE YOUR STEP SO LOUD AND DIRTY, EVERYBODY GO DEY FORCE TO WATCH."
Na why I talk am before: Do the worst, trend the hardest. Because for this life, na the noise wey you make dey determine your value. Silence na for cemetery.
If shit happen, no dust am... BAG AM, LABEL AM, SELL AM ONLINE.
Walk on with the proceeds.Simple.

Thanks for this! This was exactly the comment I was looking for. Of course they (including Tiwa Savage) know the consequences – they're not naive. they all knew what they were getting into. What people aren't getting is that not everyone has the same moral compass. For some, shame is an alien concept.

The Lana Rhoades he's referring to in his post, What the OP doesn't realise is that she maybe using this for PR move to boost her earnings. Even as a popular adult star, she's still unknown to millions. But this story about her not wanting her son to blablabla.... blows up on popular mainstream sites like Nairaland, curiosity spikes – and that means more clicks, more views, more cash for her 💸.

Like this, I can mention like five adult stars in their forties and fifties whose children (daughters) are now grown ups and are now acting porn like their mother.

Lolz, the OP think say as he dey see life, na so others dey see life . E fit talk this kinda thing for where pornstars dey, them go just dey look am like mumu dey laff.
My brother, you don shine light for wetin dem dey hide for wrapper. You talk true true. All this one na PR cinema. "Regret" na just new market strategy. Na so dem dey package am: "Bad Girl wey don Repent." E sweet for mainstream ear. Dem go carry am for Nairaland, Linda Ikeji, BBC pidgin, traffic go explode. Her "shame" na her new brand ambassador.
You talk am: For some people, shame na like ghost. Dem hear the word but dem never see the thing. Their moral compass no get needle. E dey just dey spin anyhow.
And you correct well-well for that family business matter. Na genetic inheritance! Mama do am, pikin follow. The circle no dey break, e dey PROFIT. Dem no dey hide face ,dem dey pose for cover.
You see the OP dey shout "consequences" like say na punishment. For their world, "CONSEQUENCES" NA PAYMENT ALERT SOUND. Na the beep wey dey sweet dem.

Make I add small thing: The mumu wey dey argue for them online, dem dey use their data argue, dem dey give them free publicity, dem dey even donate their "moral anger" make dem trend...Na all of una dey fund their new Benz. Na una be the real "clout cashout".
So next time you see that kind post, no bother argue. Just SAVE THE LINK. In about six months, when the same person don release "exclusive tell-all documentary" or launch new "empowered" onlyfans, GO BACK DROP THE LINK FOR COMMENT SECTION.
Make dem see say internet really no forget. Na to dey watch how dem go twist again.
You get correct mindset. No be everybody dey for one reality. Some dey for planet "Any Publicity Na Good Publicity." Make we just dey observe dem like National Geographic. No interrupt the predators while dem dey hunt.
Romance › Re: Your Past Will Knock: The Internet Never Forgets by Solofresh2: 3:27pm On Jan 04
You don dey talk like say na new news. Person wey hear you go think say na yesterday internet just invent.
Make I ask you, all these plenty talk wey you dey talk, na for who? For the mumu wey don already collect monthly data and dey hunt for clout like lion? Dem no dey read long thing like this. Dem dey chase trend like dog wey dey chase okada.
You dey cry about consequences like say dem no know. DEM KNOW! Na the "consequence" na im be the content. Your "scandal" na their "brand". Your "regret" na their "engagement". You think say na mistake? Na strategy!
Lana story? Na old trailer. Today matter na: "How I use my past scandal buy new G-Wagon." The pikin go grow, see the videos, and the mama go tell am, "See money wey I use train you. No judge me." Na so market set now.
You dey warn people wey their brain don sell for data? You no see say for their eye, your warning na content idea? Dem go screenshot your talk do video with sad music talk say "See how society dey judge us."
The real truth wey pass your own na: Internet no get memory. Internet na BINGE-WATCHER. E dey watch, e dey laugh, e dey share, e dey forget you tomorrow for another trending scandal. You think say you go immortalize? You go vaporize! Tomorrow, another person go do something more stupid, crowd go rush go there, your own matter go cold.
So all this your "future go knock" talk...abeg. Na today's likes dey pay today's bills. Tomorrow na tomorrow. If trouble come, dem go use am do another content: "My Redemption Story." Everything na content circle.
My own advice pass your own: DO THE WORST! TREND THE HARDEST! Make your past so terrible say when e knock tomorrow, e go meet(bouncer) for your door. By then, you don already buy the house wey the door dey for.
