Sometimes when I go through posts here it’s almost like we live in parallel universes. I paid 1.4 million Naira for all of my drawings and that was with a lot of arguments sef. How are you guys doing drawings for 30k, 40k?

Succulently put.

Naijapal:
It's not a big challenge for economist but for a government that doesn't want to engage professionals.
Secondly, our population growth is not sustainable. Our boarder is like ant hole. Any Tom dick and Harry can come in putting more pressure on the already insufficient resources.
Thirdly, less than 5% of the population are enjoying the resources of all though looting. Funny thing is most of this loots ends up in foreign countries.

Again, our inflation is 3 fold. 1) Imported - increase in prices in other countries are translated here because we are heavily import dependent. 2)exchange rate - self defeating policy. No matter how you CBN adjust the rate, black market rate will always give it gap. Between last week and today, CBN has not made any adjustment in rate other than a website figure update, so what's fuelling the increase other? 3)greed - people want to make astronomical profit, forgetting that they too also depend on the market for other stuff.
It's a rat race.

Depending on how important the road is.

If it's 3rd mainland bridge - 2 years

If its Lagos Ibadan express way - 10 years

If its Kaduna Abuja Road - 1 Year

If its Ore Benin Road = 20 years

If its port Harcourt to anywhere in the east = 50 years.

If its in the East to the North = 1,1090 years.

Fuel won't come down

Once it comes into operation, we will buy between ₦160 and ₦180

By then, no more subsidy from the government as claimed.

It's more prosperous than MOST of the 15 countries that broke out not all. As I said previously, the Baltic states are doing better than the rest of the former Soviet Union. Otherwise, I get your point. Breakup should ideally be a last option. The issue is that our differences outweighs our similarities. We don't have much in common that makes us "Nigerians".
They are more prosperous than all the 15.

You can prove me otherwise though.

Before this it was 381

For all intent and purposes, most business/people did not get to buy at 381 or even at the new 410
We all buy mostly at 485 to 500

Prices of all things in the market has been factored at 485 to 500

Agree things might move up a bit at the parallel market
I have always gotten mine at ₦381, sometimes ₦379.

Currently getting at ₦410 and ₦411 due to the new update from CBN.

About 15 countries if I am not mistaken. Yes, not all of them are doing well but that is besides the point. The point is that a peaceful separation can lead to the development of SOME countries. Not all. What we have atm is not sustainable. Look at Yugoslavia. After a nasty breakup, some of the countries that were part of it became very successful (Slovenia & Croatia). While some are doing okay (Serbia).
Do you know that Russia is still more prosperous than all the 15 countries that broke out of it?

I repeat again, breakup should be the last resort, have we exhausted every other option?

What he said is not different from what the FG is proposing.

He's still talking about the provision of infrastructure for the herders. (Indirect way of asking the government to foot the bills).

Ban it, if you want to practise it, buy your own land, sink a borehole, buy grass for them to eat or find a way to get foods to them. build your own ranch yourself.

If government is to build the ranch, then they should pay to use it just as people pay to use the market.

Finish.

What are you talking about? The Baltic states (Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia) are doing better than the rest of the former Soviet Union. They are members of the EU. Estonia is known for it's I.T. Their passports are among the best in the world. Please do some research. Quite a few countries that have separated are better off than they were previously.
Remind me again, how many countries broke out of the Soviet Union?

1 tonne of 12 mm rod in Lagos is #380k as at today.

I went to my vendor shop to buy and when he gave me the price, within my mind I felt he wanted to cheat me and we quarreled a bit before i angrily left his shop only for me to go to another vendor and they quoted me #385k last. I left there and went to another place and I was told #380k last price.

Shame couldn't make me go back to the initial vendor who has been my supplier since the inception of my project. Little did I know he was giving me the actual price. I had to later buy from the third person because I felt guilty of quarreling with my supplier and didn't have the energy going back to his shop.

God help this country with the way price of material is increasing. This same 1 tonne 12 mm rod was less than 200k as at October 2020.
Meaning price is about doing 100% within 8 months?

What exactly is driving the cost with speed is what I am trying to understand.

Is it that the process of manufacturing these rods is now more complex or what exactly is what I don't get.

Price doubling within 8 months is alarming.

Who is insisting that the fraudulent 1999 constitution must not be changed? That 1999 constitution is holding every region down and the 1999 constitution empowers the politicians to be corrupt without retribution.

We have tried to restructure the country but people esp Northerners are saying they don't know what restructuring means perhaps they'll know what secession means.

Is it not the same fraudulent electoral system that operates across the country? Is it not same INEC that conducts fraudulent elections that allow criminals to be selected(not elected!) , Is it not same national electoral body INEC that refused to go full electronic voting to prevent rigging?

What about the educational system? Is it universal basic education that makes the country run one basic educational system or its State-wise? The resources from one local govt, is it used to run that local govt mostly or its sent to run other local govt?

How can a country progress where national positions are not based on merit but quota system? If you're to write the constitution, would you allow the minimum qualification of the president to be 'attended secondary school"?

From your comments, most likely you will not support true restructuring. It seems you don't believe that the structure is the problem that's why you're questioning the people. Organizations restructure when the structure is not working
You are assuming.
I have repeated my stand more than twice already.

A bad system affects everybody. The misbehaving southern politicians have friends in the North that protects them through the Northern controlled Army and Judiciary else they would have been lynched. When Biafra and Oduduwa comes , it will be based on true federalism, resource control and a system that rewards meritocracy and not quota system and mediocrity. Resources from one state cannot be used to run another state. If any state is unviable, it should be merged
secession is not the first call to correcting a bad system, it should be the last call, have we tried other options?

I asked a question, what was different between 1999 and 2007 when the so called Fulani were not in power? Why did the governors not turn their states to heaven since no north to hold them back?

Same thing with 2009-2015?

We make it seem like the North or whatever you call it is the one telling the governors how to govern their states.

Is the Fulani holding back what is due to each state?

is the north the one voting in leaders in various state?

Is the North the citizens of each state who are suppose to put their leaders in check?

Our problem is not because we are together, it's a lack of identity, idealogy, and unexisiting macro goals that is dealing with Nigeria.

I raised alot of questions in my comments that if you sit down to go through, you will know that if they are not addressed, Every break away country if it ever happens will keep struggling with the same set of problems until they address them.

Nigeria is filled up with occupants and not citizens even down to most states.

I will stop here sir.

it was nice chatting you, was a very mature discourse.

Have a nice day sir.

Yes! The North has far more national assembly members and constitutional amendment requires probably 2/3 majority ( I'm not sure) but even a simple majority, southerners can't get it. Mind you the clamour for separation is increasing as the insecurity is increasing so when you talk of 1999-2007 and then 2015....we were not having Fulani herdsmen coming down south to kill and rape people in the farms. We were not talking of bandits.Nigeria is tagged a country with high levels of terrorism because of northern groups like bokoharam, herdsmen and bandits. This tagging reduces foreign direct investment cos people naturally avoid terrorists nations.

Another thing is that we run a structure were the people benefitting the most contribute almost zero. It's a fraudulent system, so it's understandable why they insist on the status quo
Is the north also the reason most states are badly run?

You said it's not peculiar to Africans alone so the solutions that others have used should also work for us. Except we don't want it to work. Europe that amalgamated different people into countries without consulting them if they want to live with each other divided themselves into practically people of similar ethnicity. no wonder European countries are so small. Portugal was joining people together but what's their size, probably the size of Niger State. Same as Britain and Spain. They themselves refused to merge but merged others. Many European countries are like states in Nigeria.... because they understand if you bring people of different ethnicity together, it takes so much resources to progress
I repeat again, our problem is not really because we are together but the terms of our togetherness.

I also want the regional system or true federalism but if the Fulanis say over their dead body what else will you do?

Is it then not wise to have the Biafra nation, Oduduwa nation, Lower Niger Republic, Middle Belt Republic and Arewanistan? South Korea is not bigger than Oyo State!
No, it's not wiser if the same set of people running individual states are still going to be in the so called countries.

It won't be wider if the same citizens reaping eachother off remains with same attitude in the small countries.

How many are we self that we are making it seems like we are the only country with huge population and different group of people?

They can't say over their dead body because they are not the only one in the senate and rep, nor are they the only one ruling executive wise. they can't have more than 4 years.

If truly the rest wanted to break away, why did they not do it between 1999 and 2007?
Why not during 2009 to 2015?

Was it the Fulani that held them back too?

Those tiny clans as you called them, were they living independently before the British came? If the British did not come, won't they still be existing? How big is Lithuania? Luxembourg? Malta?
Then we will have more than 100 to 200 countries within Nigeria.

The Eastern Nigeria alone had different clan living seperately with borders and had clashes.
Same with the southerners and notherners
Worse of them all were the westerners always fighting eachother.

The Bini kingdom was there dealing with smaller tribes and other 'strong kingdoms' .

So except you're looking for a situation of about 100 Countries, we weren't living peacefully according to history.

Even till today, Cross rivers and Akwa Ibom aren't in good terms.

Anambra and Abia aren't either.
