I didn't wait for him to shoot himself, I gave him room to right his wrong from May to September.

5 months I was in Ondo state in 2013, 1 week I was offsite and kasala burst.

3 months from January - March 2015 I was on site in Ogombo, Lagos and I told my client I’m attending a conference (Affordable Housing Projects organized by Marcus Evans in April) in Malaysia and all of a sudden it was “You must do my job before you go.”

59 days out of 60 days in March to May 2021, I was in Bogije, Lagos (I mean sleeping on site) and there was no single issue reported until I went off site on the 22nd May 2021.

How many contractor here stay on site as much as I do?

All the three projects above had some similarities, no single complaints until I had to move off site to another project or another assignment.

I told him in March that the success of this project will shoot him deep into getting better deals, few weeks into it, more jobs opened up for him. He attested to that.

Yet he treated my job with disdain after getting paid promptly.

He wants his dirty clothes washed here, so let him enjoy.

I am already making arrangements for work to continue once QS is done.

You people should pardon n3xt and await till the QS completes his assessment of the contract. A good lawyer should also be hired by the client to write a strong agreement with the client, the Q'S, the whole subtradess to make sure they all deliver the jobs. N3xt is so useful to this thread and he should continue doing his work to save nigerians from losing money to fraudsters. I also believed the client mismanaged n3xt by not giving him the needed support he needed, the client in his wickedness relocated to a five star hotel and left n3xt in the rains to b stay and work, who does that? This is sheer wickedness and an abuse to his rights. how can you expect him to deliver in such a hostile environment as your site with the insecurity in the nation?

I cant take that chance again.

When the 2 weeks expired (1 day work out of 14 days) , I told him I was terminating the contract, he asked for a remedy and I gave him my conditions, he asked for 2 days to prepare but came back to say I was pressuring him to be committed to the project (A project 5 months due!)

Since he cant be on site to personally complete the job within 7 days, he should get off the job and make a refund. I aint taking another bite at the bait.

He misused my tolerance.

I don't mind the extra cost, at least my project will get completed on time

My supervisor that came back is the reason we even recorded some progress few days ago.

A quiet client having issues on a job given to a popular/respected service provider will be doubly vexxed seeing that person promoting and contributing on this thread as if nothing is wrong, thus continually winning more kudos and jobs.

I think I have that currently. The service provider knows things are not ok. Loooong delays. Simple things that can be fixed with communication. Chooses not to communicate. Pushing other jobs. Showing off. Giving good advice to others ...

The QS some months ago asked me to terminate the contract after seeing his attitude towards the project, but I kept condoling his beggings and excuses.

Decided to change when he couldnt do more than 1 day job out of 14 days given to him by my lawyer to make amends after wasting 4 months plus.

We're a different breed when it comes to tolerance but he took his grace far when he came here to claim only atrium cover was left.

So insulting. (Not new to me though, he often goes abusive when his lies and excuses are laid bare to him).

Alof of elders won't talk on this thread because they already gave him a thumbs down when I enquired of them.

So it's like, "we told you he's a leopard, but you chose to take him to the car wash with the hope of washing off his spots"

A lady called MMotimo wrote very many things about your contractor. You probably ignored those things she said or didn't you read those warnings before you engage him? Even if you get refunded for the job that he abandoned, you are still at loss either way. The delay alone will cost you to pay more on materials going forward. Prices have really gone up in the last couple of months.
Sorry about the disappointment, it's a lesson to others.

I requested for my payments upfront because I made a commitment and I have to sustain it.

Throughout the lifetime of the project till yesternight, I supplied you as follows without complaints or request for additional funds:

1. Blocks - N200
2. Cement - N3,000

So I have to get my payments upfront to be able to fulfill my obligation. I won’t be collecting N3,000 for cement and buy same at N3,800

I didn’t come back to you to complain for more fund. I didn’t hold you either from engaging other tradespeople or stocking up for the rest of the project.

I did what work for me to sustain what i proposed to you. You’re not compelled to pay me. It was expressly stated how I want my funds.

When I drafted my schedule for the project, I made sure it was done without any conflicting engagements and I was on site 99% of the time till we complete all the block walls.

I didnt contract you to supply me materials.

I asked you how much would get me a carcass and you gave me a figure which i paid for.

That you bought cement for ₦1 or ₦2 is not a bonus.

Others that submitted their bid also gave me similar figures.

You did me no favor.

Infact, your quotation was one of the highest.

I was using the drawing to illustrate the direction when you wanted me to remind you of the design.

This is to show that part of the contract entered into by May 7th wasnt started till 20th.

Imagine asking for 100% money for what you didn't even remember the design a day after paying you completely.

I paid you in advance because of the rise in building materials which you cited as an obstacle.
