In the same way the Spirit also comes to help us, weak as we are. For we do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that words cannot express. And God, who sees into our hearts, knows what the thought of the Spirit is; because the Spirit pleads with God on behalf of his people and in accordance with his will.We do not know how to pray the way we should, it is the Holy Spirit that helps us. Speaking in Tongues may just be one of the easiest ways for that to occur since most Christians rarely understand what they are saying – they have no gift of interpretation. Most times however, we – those that speak in tongues – just blab, (thank God for his mercies). You see, Speaking in Tongues is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Not a compulsory gift but a good one to have nonetheless. It is especially good for you. Now don’t get me wrong, they are much more wonderful gifts some of which are compulsory but this one is an advantage to whoever possesses it. This is simple because you talk to God about the correct things for once and save your time from selfish and unnecessary gibberish. You can pray just about any prayer in tongues and also sing and praise God in it too. Pentecostalism, today, may have obscured the true meaning and value of tongue. We see it being used wrongly or even falsely as the case may be. For example, people pray in tongues with the microphone, congregations are told to start praying in tongues when the prayer is on, New Believers are forced to say anything in faith and we assume the gibberish is speaking in tongues. Again, thank God for his mercies. It’s a wonder that a Pastor can not tell his congregation to just start prophesying, or words of knowledge or miracle or healing yet they can tell them to just start speaking in tongues. Excuse me, but I thought tongues were a gift from the Holy Spirit and he decides when to give you utterance? They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to talk in other languages, as the Spirit enabled them to speak. Now don’t get me wrong, it’s possible for a matured Christian to almost speak in tongues when needed. Just like matured prophets of old always knew how to inquire and get answers from God, just like Paul knew exactly God’s answer when he asked for healing – NO – in that case. Again some people say speaking in tongues are just speaking other languages. My mom and some other people say this include even heavenly languages. Now I do not have the answer for that one. It seems to me that both sides have good arguments. Another group says all these sort of gifts have in fact ceased and are no longer in existence since the bible became complete. Seeing the amount of false miracles and all, sometimes I agree with these ones, other times I speak in Tongues and know beyond any doubt that I am being given utterances by the Holy Spirit. Like Paul, I wish that we all spoke in tongues, though in an assembly and some times for your self prophecy seems the better option. Nevertheless, do not condemn or forbid speaking in tongues. It is one of the tools the Holy Spirit uses to help our infirmities. Sorry for my long post. Have a wonderful day. |

SCHUSTER SETS SIGHTS ON FABREGAS New Real Madrid coach Bernd Schuster has sent a chill down the spines of all Arsenal fans by insisting Cesc Fabregas is the man to take his side forward. Speaking after being confirmed at the helm at the Bernabeu, the former Germany international immediately identified the Gunners' young midfielder as one of his favourite players. The 20-year-old has regularly been linked with a move back to his homeland, and in particular Real and Barcelona - where he spent time as a youth player before moving to England. He had, however, appeared to commit his future to Arsene Wenger's side this summer in the wake of Thierry Henry's departure for Barca, but Schuster's comments seemingly make an approach by the Spanish champions inevitable. "I like Cesc Fabregas, he plays in the same position as I did in my playing days," said Schuster, who left his role with La Liga rivals Getafe to join Real. "He has improved a lot in England, and learnt a lot from Arsene Wenger, a coach who I admire and who has done over the years a very good job with young players. "I believe he is one of the few players in his position that can carry a team on his back, and when I say teams, I mean quality teams." The prospect of Fabregas following legendary striker Henry out of the Emirates Stadium is a nightmare scenario for the Gunners, although the club are unlikely to be receptive to any Madrid approach. He signed an eight-year contract just last summer and recently insisted: "In 10 days I'll be back training with Arsenal. My team. I'm staying in London." http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_2483579,00.html |

@wormed up Ignore Gallas ramblings. He now admits he made a mistake. Obviously the arses would ignore this and only see when Cole (who has played beta than Gallas by the way) does not play up to his former form. Not to mention that atleast Cole has two more medals to add to his name while Gallas has NONE. * Hisses and continues with what he was doing * |
@ wormed up Thanks, very much, You stopped me from lashing out at her. jeje Before you spewed your gibberish, you would have taken time to check your sources. Please do so next time. Now check my link on the subject above, you'll see the figure may be about 13.5m. Also check credible sites like www.soccernet.com www.football365.com home.skysports.com Before posting false stories. And i am really indifferent about your presence in this or any other thread on Nairaland. I just want you to make sense when you refer to Chelsea. Thank you. |
Well i did not want to sound offensive at first because it may lead to some arguments. The new trend is that testimonies bring people to the knowledge of the pastor or the church not to the knowledge of God. Consider the quote below He destroyed the pagan places of worship, broke the stone pillars, and cut down the images of the goddess Asherah. He also broke in pieces the bronze snake that Moses had made, which was called Nehushtan. Up to that time the people of Israel had burned incense in its honor. Here Hezekiah in his rehabilitation exercise of Israel, decided to destroy something that the Great Moses had built. Why? Cuz people were now using it as an object for worship and transgressing against God. This same bronze serpent wa the one God told Moses to build in order to save the Israelis from being wiped out by poisonous serpents. ( Numbers 21) but now had become an abomination. Christians too have placed pastors and churches in this position. Now instead of praying and believing in God we go to the pastor. We can not go to any church except ours. Assembly of believers has changed to The-church-were-i-worship. I can say more but again i'm picking my words to be as nice as possible. We need to destroy that serpent - not the church or the pastor but the mentality, the reasoning, the attitude, the behaviour. We need to turn back to God. |
loyika:I guess we cant believe anything they say these days and they all cant be trusted? ![]() Do you see how your logic falls on its back? |
jeje Quit asking out for attention? Where did you hear it was 20m we bought him for? ![]() loyika With your statements, all footballers just say trash when they sign right - Like Torres in Liverpool and Henry in Barca? |
MALOUDA LOVES CHELSEA Florent Malouda claims that Chelsea were always his first choice as he closes on a move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea finally agreed a fee with Lyon for the French international over the weekend after weeks of protracted negotiations and Malouda is expected to undergo a medical at the club on Monday. Real Madrid and Liverpool had been linked with the left-sided winger, but Malouda insists he always had his heart set on a switch to Chelsea. "They were my number one choice for many reasons," Malouda told L'Equipe. "I saw several matches there as a spectator and I always enjoyed it very much. "There was also the coach, who really wanted to have me, and life in London, because I want my family to feel at ease. "The most important thing was I felt they really wanted me. "I also feel the kind of football they play suits me quite well." Malouda also revealed Didier Drogba influenced his decision to link up with Chelsea as the striker urged his former Guingamp team-mate to join him in West London. "Didier pushed a bit, a lot even," added Malouda. "But then, at Chelsea, that's not enough to recruit a player." Malouda admitted he was upset at how long the move dragged on for as Lyon held out for the best price possible. "The (Lyon) president had told me he would let me go and I knew he would be true to his word but the problem was the time it took," continued Malouda. "He (Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas) is a tough businessman but everybody knew I would leave." http://www.football365.com/story/0,17033,8652_2483131,00.html |
Chelsea set to sign Malouda, Grant appointed Sports Director Chelsea's preparations for the new season have continued to take shape with the appointment of Avram Grant as director of football and a fee being agreed for France midfielder Florent Malouda. Grant, who was technical director at Portsmouth, will fly with the squad for the pre-season tour to Los Angeles tomorrow, with Malouda meeting up with the team when a medical is completed and personal terms are agreed. Chelsea can confirm it has agreed a fee with Olympique Lyonnais for the transfer of Florent Malouda,' read a statement from Chelsea. The fee is undisclosed but Malouda has been valued at upwards of £13million in the French media since impressing for his country at the World Cup last year and featuring in the Champions League for Lyon. Malouda will join Steve Sidwell, Claudio Pizarro and Tal Ben Haim as Chelsea's first-team summer signings, with Alex expected to arrive from PSV Eindhoven. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=444168&cc=3888 |
@Acid Drop Your Pastor is in error. He's just pouring out to you what a doctrine, called Word of Faith, teaches. You are however correct in that assertion you made. Our prayers must be subject to God's will, and not only that but our words and lifestyle. Below are other quotes that will help you: "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Now listen to me, you that say, "Today or tomorrow we will travel to a certain city, where we will stay a year and go into business and make a lot of money." You don't even know what your life tomorrow will be! You are like a puff of smoke, which appears for a moment and then disappears. What you should say is this: "If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that." But now you are proud, and you boast; all such boasting is wrong. Most of where Jesus talks about asking and praying, he always mentioned or implied we ask in His name, we remain in Him or His word remains in us. . . (can explain more if you dont understand) Now like you've said even Christ prayed that way so how is it that we should not pray that way? |

Well i've been thinking about this alot and (this is just me) i don't know if its possible for all genes of music to be on one thread. It would be difficult to follow particular genes or songs up. Besides i've not even thought of how the modalities of setting up a song. But again, we may be able to link people up on IM or so and decide about particular songs. I think thats closer to what i had in mind. Anyway i'm still up for fun rap and was really having fun with what i was doing, though i write non-rap songs and may be able to do something with you if you want. |
