Ghost01: SolOfEl - The Nobel prize is "political and too Eurocentric," yet non-Europeans keep winning it! Or are Soyinka, Gordimer, Mandela, Tutu, Sirleaf Europeans. Tell me, what scientific discovery of yours warrants a Nobel prize and the author was denied? Same goes for the peace prize, chemistry, literature, etc. Local champions! Forget not that all the prizes--the notable ones--you chest-beaters shout about were nominated and voted for - politics.it seems i have to teach someone what ''too eurocentric'' means. When one's artistry suits european ideology, it means the work is eurocentric. Nobel prize is not the 'ultimate prize' for ingenuity okay? Fyi, the peace prize commitee differs from the regular prize in various fields. Otondo |
Ghost01: Agatha Christie is the bestselling author of all time. Does that mean she is better than Shakespeare? Does Harry Potter outselling any of Stephen King's series make SK inferior to JK Rowling? You guys should look to the Jews, they keep winning the Nobel prizes through the work of their hands. No be by mouth!nadine gordimer was also a nobel prize winner, yet she called achebe the father of mordern african literature. Mandela, a joint nobel winner with de klerk, eulogized achebe's literary prowness as part of what liberated him, ...talk about influence and greatness! |
Ghost01: And how many Nobel Laureates? Local champions!see them...since when did the nobel prize, as prestigious as it is, become the alpha and omega of literary ingenuity? Inferiority complex is a disease. Leo tolstoy, mark twain, etc were literary giants of their time, yet, they were omitted by the nobel commitee whom pundits have come to see as political and too eurocentric. Even when achebe was alive, soyinka could not measure up with him in influence, achebe was africa's most influential celeb till he passed on. |
patrickdarlins: am crying in d rain for dis teaching hospital...choiiiiikeep crying...absuth dosent need your tears, cry for your ignorance because absuth well alive and still meets up to the NMA and NUC minimum requirements, just like other THs in naija. |
fools in nairaland! OP only showed you some of the abandoned sections of ABSUTH, Are you guys that demented? Or dont you reason at all? Susceptible and ignorant igbos will join and chorus their ignorant rants here, shame on you guys. OLODOs. |
inventors in science and tech of igbo descent surpasses that of the yoruba (if any) no offense. From emeagwali to cyprian uzoh, to ekekwe, to nwangwu, to fransisca okeke, etc. When it come to global icons, we have achebe, cardinal arinze, okonjo iweala, anyaoku, etc. Sports and entertainment? My e-ink go finish... When it comes to young international shakers, adichie, uzodinma iweala, chukuka, etc. Mehn, igbos are blessed! |
henchamb: The last might not have been heard about the death of the Sun Vice president and a veteran Journalist Mr Dimgba Igwe who was knocked down by a hit and run driver said to have driven a car without a plate number during the weekend. since his death the Abia state government has been passionately accusing Orji Uzor Kalu who the deceased worked for in his company for killing him. we all know that the sun has been in the forefront exposing the mess going on in Abia State with the recent publication Abia stinks by chief Arthur Eze going viral. Abia state governor through his tout of a son who has been terrorizing abia should be investigated on the death of Mr Dimgba Igwe.the 'abia stinks' mantra is a fake. Authur eze at a media briefing dissociated himself from quoting such. He blasted OUK and his sun newspaper for spread false info. Abia haters are indeed lost. |
Incredibleme: i think the list portrays some level of truth although i think delta state should be ahead of abia state.quite spewing trash. Abia state is one of the most literate states in nigeria. Where in abia did you serve? |
Seempliehuman: "Yoruba has no guts for it", and you accuse me of being an ethnic bigot. Smh. "inherent thieves"? Now you're just casting aspersions. If you do find any real evidence, let me know.it is your aspersion that has real evidence right? My conclusions are logical and relatable. You are only rigmaroling. |
Seempliehuman: I'm not waiting, I'm helping to spread the message that we need freedom from Nigeria.yeah...and it exposes your ethnistic bigotry. Yoruba has not guts for it, it dosent mean there are no yoruba inherent thieves in the east. |
Seempliehuman: I hope you're being funny, but as I've said, leave and it is you who may have to deal with wide-spread unemployment. Anyway, I'm a supporter of an Independent Yoruba Nation, so Igbos gone or their activities better regulated, is something I want.i guess u'd just have to wait then... |
abia people no dey shout- eni njoku, jaja wachukwu, ironsi, okpara, ekekwe, ihejirika, kanu, amunike,etc...no need to shout... Abia mmamma nu o. Ekele mu unu! |
Seempliehuman: I made a comment about how we dont need Igbos in Yorubaland and you quoted it and commented, "I smell jealousy", who were you supposed to be referring to?legend has it that any place where igbos are not there is dead. U wan die? |
Billygee2u: T A ORJI is a failure and a big disgrace to the entire Igbo raceenough of your rants. Am not his fan either, but he is not as bad as you all project to be. At least there is security, umuahia the capital has a superior look than it did before, and the ngwa people will be given a long awaited oppotunity to lead. |
Seempliehuman: Jealousy, for stating facts? Whatever you choose to call yourself is your business. I'm supremely confident in my people's ability to manage their affairs and economy.was i tackling ur pple? See inferiority complex at work o! Anyway, igbos will always be successful, whether at aba, onitsha, ph, lagos, ibadan, bida, kaduna, kano, zuru, abuja, etc. |
Seempliehuman: Yes, see how Igbo are developing Lagos with criminal practices here http://sunnewsonline.com/new/?p=64882i smell jealousy... |

silence is indeed the best answer for fools, and 'yes', davies' half-baked revelations with boko haram came from heaven...*scorns* ihejirika keep moving joor... |
dealslip: you better leave that place before Boko haram takes over and then you will be crying genocide against the Awolowo. Go back home now and develop your land don't let them destroy all you have worked for like they are doing in Kano and Kaduna systematically buying properties of Igbo men they have terrorised out of their territory. a word is enough for the wise. Don't come and be singing pogrom here oh!thanks for your concern but i'll take my chances. fyi, ubakala in umuahia is thriving and doing just fine, my income is usually sent there okay? Focus on yourself. |
T9ksy: Do you know the number of ibos languishing in jail in china? Malaysia? India? South Africa, nko? And how many yorubas are in those prisons.you wil neva c american or french nationals being treated in such way. It is wot the objs and ibbs hav done to this geographical expression called naija. |
T9ksy: Yeah..........as you are running things in their prison cells as well.because they told you so right? From shina rambo to samuel kayode (uk fraudster) to the adebolajos.u guys are really loved right? Una no dey dissappoint. |
T9ksy: Of course, every ibo man is a successful businessman (sic).again, another response dead on arrival. |

lame and deficient responses...*hisses and continues scrolling my touchscreen...* |
T9ksy: Why go to Sokoto when everything i need is right here in my sokoto (trouser pocket).lazy and gutless man's excuse. See dem...*grins digustedly* aba, onitsha, ph, calabar, kano, kaduna, ibadan, bida, zuru, sokoto, lagos, jos, name them, WE IGBOS ARE THERE RUNNING THINGS! Go to CHINA, SPAIN, TAIWAN, SOUTH AFRICA, GHANA, INDIA, US, etc, we ARE THE AFRICANS RUNNING THE SHOW THERE! *smells envy.... |
T9ksy: But they do know about yorubaland which is their only escape route from the poverty their cursed land can only afford them. If you know the yorubas hate you this much why then do you guys still flock to their land, en mass?lazy yorubaz and their razz excuzes. Has anyone stopped u lots from doing business in alaigbo? Just confess- UNA NO GAT D LIVER TO!.go to alaigbo today and see if it not a beehive of socio-economic activities. Lazy lotz. Am presently in birnin-kebbi, guess who runs the biz here- IGBOS! |
GooseBaba: Where you pass get pearls...? this is 2014.. Man no dey wear pearls.. Abi you be homo for Christ ni?see me see otondo o...! *leaves thread* |
macof:truth? You call your rants truth? *shakes head in pity* |
macof: You are for Paul, Paul who is not for Jesus, Jesus who is not God.not that i cant reply your rants, i believe ignoring your thread will save my time for productive things. I do not cast my pearls before swines, or give my meat to dogs. Nuff said. |
macof: You should also test the words of guru Maharajno thank u. Am for paul because he is for jesus christ. |
pastor adeboye OLD ALUMNI, BSC mathematics, UNN! MSC & PHD, applied mathematics, UNILAG. I ASK AGAIN, WHO REPS UNILORIN? |
keep pulling each others hair over which univ outshines the other. What is the strength of unilorin's old and new alumni compared to oau? No offense, i just feel ilorin's bragging right is premature. Fyi, am a superlion(unn) and a proud one for that matter, am nt of oau. Despite unn's inadequacies, she has managed to produce a long enviable list of old and new alumni to reckon with. A univ may be Behind, it dosent make its graduates or academic output Behind either. Dora, ezekwesili, soludo, emefiele, are some of my unn contemporary output with int'l reckoning. Who represents unilorin? *just asking* |
OP, IT IS EITHER YOU ARE GAY, EXTREME FEMINIST, ATHEIST, OR JUST A NOISE MAKER SEEKING RELEVANCE. PAUL'S MSGS HAVE BEEN TESTED IN MY DAY TO DAY CHRISTIAN LIVING, AND U KNOW WHAT? HIS WORDS ARE DIVINE. |
