Nchoje34:I'm seeing a lot of comments showing as if people don't understand what happened in that video. You can see that the man was obviously followed to that place, not to steal the car as some people are saying but to steal something from the car, probably money. They must have followed him from the bank Notice that a white car followed his car to that place, though it parked far back close to the junction they came out from. The dark getaway car they used later came, made a U turn and immediately it turned, the other white car that trailed the main to that place also pulled out, package taken and the two cars sped off, Notice that the 2 guys that came near the car first looked through the window to confirm the package was there before they called the getaway car to move. You sure say I nor be detective for my previous life ![]() We learn every day |
TechToyin:In summary food prices should remain high? Because we want to satisfy farmers? On a serious note, you are partially right but wrong in most parts. I have come to realize that Nigeria is a peculiar country, the Macroeconomic maneuvers that work in other economies won't work in Nigeria. These same farmers have been subsidized for years, the border was closed for years against rice importation, subsided fertilizers, even free in some local governments, access to huge loans from government, etc, but what did we get at the end of the day? increase in production of local rice but now selling more than foreign ones when you are not procuring anything in dollars to warrant that. The same people that are coming with different analysis today why lower prices is not good for the economy were the same shouting on rooftops just a few months back that the government is killing us with high prices. If the government tries to initiate a long term food sufficiency plan (which of course will mean high prices in the short term) the same people will say the country is finished. Bottom line, you can't satisfy those that cannot be satisfied as the reason for the analysis of most of them is not the desire for the economy to be better but just political. As a government, give farmers some form of protection (not absolute) subsidize whatever they need to purchase in dollars, leave them to sort themselves out on other Naira purchases and come in once in a while for intervention either by increasing tariff on importation of certain food items temporarily to reduce its importation or lowering the tariff temporarily to bring in more of such goods to counter the excesses of our local farmers. YoungLionken:Lose, No pun intended please. Just that many people here make that mistake and its beginning to sound right but its wrong. To the topic, DT ratings have actually dropped even in Republican States. Thats one of the reasons he is trying to instgate war everywhere so that mid-term election in November won't take place. From November he might actually become a lame duck till the end of his tenure. Well, that is if he allows election to take place. We learn every day |

JohnMo2:I wrote something on the other thread on the pending implosion in ADC. Let me repeat it here. The ADC is caught up between the devil and the deep blue sea. Give the ticket to Atiku (which is 99% sure anyway) then Obi walks away. If he doesn't walk away and he accepts VP, Amaechi walks away. Atiku alone cannot defeat Tinubu, Atiku + Obi may defeat Tinubu if they have enough financial muscle which only Atiku's money cannot take care of (He is also being frugal these days), unfortunately, no Rivers or Delta money to finance the election again as they have always been doing. And with Amaechi walking away, end of the road If Atiku picks Amaechi as VP, Obi walks away, and no matter the money they spend, Amaechi cannot pull the votes Obi will bring to the table. Once Obi walks, end of the road If Obi mistakenly gets the ticket (Next to impossible) then Atiku walks away and that takes us back to 2023 all over again, just that this time around the margin Tinubu will use to defeat them will be wider because (1) No element of surprise again from Obi-they now know what he is capable of and the crowd he can pull. (2) Atiku has lost his loyal PDP base in the South (Delta, Rivers and Osun) Let Amaechi get the ticket (joke of the century) then within a month we will witness the total collapse of the association of strange bed fellows. Same with APC coalition too but unlike ADC they have a seasoned politician 'gumming' them together, immediately Tinubu leaves the President's seat or he dies, the APC total collapse will be worse than that of PDP In summary, Only death can remove Tinubu in 2027 the way things stand. Eriokanmi:Buhari did not get the ticket. Tinubu bought it for him. If you think the primaries of any big party in Nigeria (or even places like USA) can be got freely then you don't know how this politics of a thing runs. Anytime you hear Tinubu boast that he made Buhari president, it is the primaries he is talking about, if not, Buhari stood no chance against heavy spenders like Atiku and Kwankwanso, even Okorocha. Free information, the only place Obi (due to his popularity) can get free ticket is an unknown or a struggling party who needs his popularity to boost the party's image and chances. But any big party with heavyweight, big-spending politicians, Obi CAN NEVER win the primaries there/ We learn every day |
bentenny:Let me come down to your level. you are no more weeping because the students were 'abandoned' your weeping is now offer to return home being made or not? 1. As I don't have the date and time the offer was made to the students maybe before the protest, do you have the date and time the offer was made after the protest or you just assumed the FG was doing damage control just because that is what fits your narrative? 2. If you don't have the date but agreed that offer has been made to them (at least you claimed it was made after the protest) Have they now accepted offer. (Because I would think if someone is suffering somewhere and he's offered a lifeline he would jump at it). Now about covering your shame. There is no shame in weeping about your misfortune, but weeping because you want to be seen in the bandwagon of 'all actions of the government is bad', to me that is a waste of tears. Unfortunately for you I never claimed to be intelligent. You are the one rather trying so hard to show your Condescending nature albeit to the wrong person. You don't need to be intelligent to make sense and it's the latter you just need here |
bentenny:You that knows what transpired can you provide the evidence of what transpired? I just told you I don't know. Now bring your evidence of what transpired you started doing copy and paste google search for me. I thought you would produce a document you signed with the students since you are the one financing the scholarship. I never knew you will still come back to the same statement of FG that you accused of doing damage control. Next time before you start weeping for whatever you are weeping for, be sure to either be the one in charge or you have evidence or reasons why you are weeping. |
bentenny:From your mumble jumble can you show me where they your students accepted the offer and they were not sorted out. At least you have made effort to see that offers were made to them to come back since the programe will not be renewed. You can clearly see from what you pasted there (that's if you read it anyway) the same thing I've been pushing in your face that the programe has been discontinued, Yes or No? The FG has offered to bring those remaining back, Yes or No, The FG said they will still take care of the remaining people in the program if they choose to stay but no priority now (they were sorted out till 2024) only 2025 have not been paid Yes or No? So I don't know what exactly you are trying to claim. Drowning man holding unto straws is what I'm seeing here. If you have been a beneficiary of Scholarship before or you remotely know anyone even in the place you people call saner climes, you will know that there can be delays for whatever reasons in fulfilling the obligations. If you can't endure it or pay from your own pocket until the fund comes then leave the school and go back home. Not to now even talk of when the FG specifically told you they can't continue we can fix you up if you are ready to come back home or you can wait there while we sort your money out. traware:All you people that do not want to forgive Mahrez, what will you now do about Roberto Baggio USA 94? I know some people that never recovered from that till they died. Some people even died seconds after that goal entered. He broke the heart of millions of people; I couldn't sleep for like 3 days, I was having nightmares. Mahrez own, my heart was already strong I just laughed over it, the only thing that pained me about that one was all the meme they were now using our players to do after the match that our player was sleeping behind the wall but the free kick still entered. Now remembering that game now, why in this world did the referee not allow the Nigeria player to lie down behind the wall and the ref. kept telling him to stand up? These African refs sometimes, well, I guess that style wasn't popular then and the yeye African ref didn't know that FIFA rule allows it. We learn every day |
ernieboy:You sabi football jare. Remove Iwobi from that midfield, remove Bassey from that defence, Gombe United will wallop the team. Today Osayi was something else too. We learn every day |
bentenny:I forgot to address your obsession with the word refuse. If that word is what is giving you problem then I humbly withdraw it. I rephrase:: "The FG has discontinued the programe and given the students the option to return back home to study in Nigerian university of their choice but those your students DID NOT COMPLY" or "DID NOT ACCEPT THE PROPOSAL". Will you be okay with that? We learn every day |
bentenny:Alright. Now that you have assumed you know all that transpired between the ministry and the students. Can you show evidence of contract the FG signed with the students or the letters issued to them? Even if you want to argue blindly try to do it with some kind of sense. The person doing the sponsoring issued a statement, yet you said they are doing damage control. Just to read has become difficult for you. I put a link there to read the premiumtimes publication and only cropped a part of it. read and maybe a portion of your ignorance can be cured. I just told you I don't have evidence beyond what the owner of the scholarship said. You are the one that now need to make some sense of your talking here and there. Let me break it down for you so you can go look for evidence to support your blind argument since I can't get provide any evidence for you other than what the ministry in charge of the whole matter said: 1. Who is in charge of the scholarship. FG 2. Who has been accused of abandoning students FG 3. Who has come out to say the programe has been discontinued and students have been told to indicate to come home FG Even though the FG still insist they will sort the remaining people there out to finish there (but not priority). Now your students said they have been abandoned, 1. Can you show evidence that they indicated interest to come back to Nigerian university and they were not attended to? No 2. Can you provide evidence that the program is still on? Of course not, since no be you go pay from your pocket. Even when we were in school with Shell Scholarship that was supposed to be for 3 years then, some schools got for only 1 year while some schools got for the 3 years. Somebody giving you scholarship can discontinue it at any time, and you can't force the money from his pocket. Well maybe you and VDM can take it up from there since you are insisting the FG can't stop what they started. We learn every day |
bentenny:Good that we are on the same page about learning and not to win argument or throw subtle shade that you know better. What you quoted there is simple English. You can see the words "to my understanding" and "I believe" telling you that I am neither the minister of education nor the president who must have signed the memo on the discontinuation of the program, I can only rely on what they say. Same way I would expect someone like you who did not initiate the program, paid their school fees so far, in fact doesn't even know which flight they took to morocco to not be assertive that FG is doing damage control because your source of information too is just what you are hearing (except maybe you are the minster that took them there). The question you are asking me. The person in charge has answered it so how else or what evidence do you want me to give you. I should bring the call log of the minister to the students, a mail sent to them from the ministry or what information exactly. You are actually funny putting the word refused in bold. Is it difficult to just read the write up? and are you expecting to see the word refused there? really? The ministry said they have provided pathway for you to come back and finish your education in the university of your choice and all arrangement for your flight and movement will be taken care of, just write us and indicate your interest. You didn't do that but went on the street of Morocco to meet VDM, if that is not refusal what is it? acceptance? Guy just rest. I'm making a point and not argument but if you are in the mood for argument lets have your points, I'm available. We learn every day |
Glimpsetv:Can somebody ask him how many months it took him to make that 800 cedis (approximately N100k) Fuel in Ghana is above 13 cedis cheap ghetto one room/month is 200 cedis and above cheap mama put food is from 20 cedis Transport of the distance from Ojota to VI is over 15 cedis Average electricity a month (1 tv, 1 fridge, 3 bulbs) is 100 cedis The only thing that is not taxed in Ghana is the air they breath Average minimum pay is around 500 cedis a month. bentenny:What information do you have about me calling out NFF that you are trying to form "sabi" That the FG is always bailing the corrupt NFF out doesn't make it normal. I ask which of the European countries that FIFA is giving billions of Naira to like our own NFF is being financed fully by their governments. If it is about defending FG as you said, there is no administration that has surpassed the present one in terms of motivating the people in sports most especially the NFF that I have issues with. Past pledges NOT made by the present government have been fulfilled. The bonuses for the present tournament has been signed out as far back as november (according to reports, delays are as a result of players preferring foreign currency). Now, that is me defending this government! For the Morocco students, I thought you know everything as you keep writing "stay away from what you don't know" or you just learnt that phrase? well, you can read this- premiumtimesng.com/news/top-news/848195-nigerian-government-denies-abandoning-students-on-morocco-scholarship. I attached a screenshot of a portion of the write up for you in case you want to "stay away from what you know"

bentenny:Get your facts right before being sad on behalf of anybody. To my understanding, those "students" refused to come back home. I believe that programe was cancelled in 2024 for new people, the old ones there were sorted out up till 2024 and arrangement was made for them to be back in Nigeria to continue their school. They abandoned themselves there nobody did. Despite their not wanting to come back home, the FG still promised to sort them out (just that they are not priorities). As for the AFCON, I don't know what business the government has in paying match bonus of the players that the NFF cannot do from all the money they are collecting from FIFA. If government want to audit their account or appoint chairman for them that is when they will cry to FIFA that government is interfering, that we should be banned. But to finance the team they will be asking the same government for money to meet their obligations. No be juju be that? How many top European countries are their governments paying players bonuses? |
yemmit90:Looks like you don't know the quality in that Congo DR team. For Algeria to beat them shows Algeria is a serious contender for the title. Congo that sent Cameroon and same Eagles out of world cup. If Congo had defeated Algeria its almost sure SE go collect again for the second time. |
Angelfrost:Not very correct that they are being gifted the trophy (which they might still not win anyway). They actually dismantled the in-form Aston Villa on their own without the help of any rival. They lost 2 points narrowly to this Sunderland, if it was that same squad of Sunderland that played today City wouldn't escape beating. Give honour to whom it is due, Arsenal topping the table is not that when an opposition loses point the point lost would be added to Arsenal's own (they still have to struggle and work for their own points). Arsenal is topping the league (and the champions league by the way) because they are simply the best team at the moment, simple and simple. |

LegendHero:If I believed in voodoo I would say the man is using Juju. As if he has hypnotized his opponents to be taking missteps. What in this world made Atiku and Obi not to come together. What in this world made Atiku pick a baby politician in Okowa instead of Wike that can win votes for you both directly and indirectly What in this world made Obi pick Baba Ahmed, a nobody in politics in the North. If he had gone for a stronger politician that can just pick 20% for him in the north he would have been declared president today. Racoon:I remember long back in the days when I was in primary school we were told that drinking coconut water will turn you to a dullard, and we avoided it like plague. Because of this for a long time anytime I'm in Ghana as an adult I used to pity the kids that they will be dullards, but gradually I realized all na fable as many other things we were told back then. Or how can one explain that people whose consumption of coconut water is a daily thing now besting the ones that avoid coconut water? ![]() On a side note, the best mathematics lecturer in my secondary school days in my town then is a Ghanaian (Mr. Steve Opoku), he was a freelance teacher, teaching in about 4 schools during the day and about 3 extramural classes in the evening.
