Lama70: This particular question is scary even for our parents. I remember waking up in the middle of the night to ponder over this question too. I was in primary school and less than 10 years of age.
I went to wake my father in his room to ask him. He had no answer. He just stylishly rubbed me on my back and told me to go back to my sleep. I guess my little brain was in the over-drive that particular night. I don't think anyone can ever answer that. No matter how much of the Quran or Bible you may hsve read.
However, i don't want to say there's no God. I have experienced a lot to believe in His existence. I have equally decided to give myself some peace by not bothering over who created or gave birth to him again. It's getting me confused. Same as the actual religion that is of God. I am just okay like this abeg.
I was like 8 years when same happened to me in the middle of the night
I remember crying after thinking and thinking about it. My mum didn't have answer for me but pacified me to sleep. I stopped asking since then till now. I hope none of my children would ask me such direct question.
I believe there is God and spirituality. His existence that is unexplainable is what makes him God. He stops being God (a spiritual being) the day we can explain with certainty his existence with our mortal knowledge.
SpecialAdviser: APC should be ashamed of itself. They are still riding on the ignorance and myopic mindset of Nigerians to fool people around. Honestly when I see what is happening, I come to the conclusion that we have a long way to go in this country. Our trash reasoning is why everything is thrown at us.
A CBN governor colluded with the ex president to redesign naira for no reason. Spent billions to waste money. A new president emerges from the same party and started stupid show to foo.l his supporters by arresting the CBN governor that took order from the president. Wouldn't he have constituted panel of enquiry to publish the whole nasty deals to give us details of what transpired. How much was spent, how much looted and so on and so forth. He wouldn't because the enquiry will come out indicting Buhari himself.
His actions reminds me of early days of Buhari presidency of arresting Olisa Metu, Gausau and all that. Those days of vindictive arrests and prosecution that lead to no where. He is repeating the same nonesetical footsteps of Buhari and his sea of mo.ronic supporters are hailing his stupid behavior.
Tinubu when will you arrest Hadirika abi what is the name of the criminal Nigeria Airways scammer? When will you arrest the NPC census scammer that spent billions without counting any sht? Everyone cannot be fuuls at the same time. That one no be crime abi? Na only Emefiele dey worry you? People hailing all these nonesense are the biggest Shame of the century. Emefiele will go to court. May be incarcerated for a while but will come out smiling. That is always the trend. By that time we have wasted time discussing Emefiele.
Nigerians who do una?
Tinubu is not interested in unnecessary arrest of anybody. He has an economy to run and it is very necessary for him to remove the CBN governor as the person occupying that office is important to his economic plans. Remember DSS was already on Emefiele even before Tinubu became president or is there any report that says Tinubu ordered the arrest?
Let Emefiele go and sort out his terrorism issue with DSS who just used the opportunity of him getting suspended to have the boldness to arrest him.
Nobody will expect Tinubu to retain such a person in position, someone that bought ticket to run against your presidency, someone that introduced policy that you felt was to undermine you chances of success, someone the supreme court ordered to stand down but refused, etc.
Tinubu nor get him time, but should just leave that sensitive position for his administration not to be sabotaged.
Parachoko: Person wey dey earn 30k in a month no need generator
See eh, subsidy is gone for good
Person wey dey earn 30k and get car and generator should sell them or stop using them. So he or she will have enough money to spend on transport fare
Even though you are making a valid point but the sarcastic way you went about it is not making the guy get your point. Or should I say you were too blunt with your assertion?
The onus is now on the government to put things in place to make life relatively okay for the average Nigerian.
I guess you have difficulty understanding what I wrote. was Buhari administration a new administration in 2022?
Was there any supplementary budget passed when YarAdua took over? was there anyone when Johnathan took over? What of when Buhari took over in 2015?
I don't know how competent the new administration will be, we are still waiting. If you are in a position to pass your ideas to the administration kindly do so.
My argument is that it is near impossible for a new regime dealing with a new NASS to approve a supplementary budget especially something as massive as almost 4 trillion Naira in deficit which will require you borrowing to fund.
inoki247: Lol you will need Permit cause you're not a Citizen if you can afford that in those countries I wish you well....
In Ghana you will need a Non Citizen ECOWAS card and a Permit which you will have to be renewing every Year for like 4 to 5yrs I guess before they can now give you the Permanent Permit....
You did not remember to tell him that what you just wrote will cost him just a small amount of about 1500 USD and about 400 USD for yearly renewal of both the Ghana card and the permit.
Kukutenla: You need to learn today. There's still a National assembly in session and another will be inaugurated before this week runs out. And a supplementary budget was approved within a month especially for a rubber stamp nass which the next one is gearing up to be. So quit the excuses. And virement is not even as complex as a supplementary budget BTW
Yeah, I'm always in the process of learning.
Do you know the process involved in passing a budget (supplementary or not)? more so a new national assembly with so many first timers.
You assume the next NASS would be a rubber stamp one despite the ruling party not having the majority in the lower chamber.
Which new administration in Nigeria's history has ever attempted a supplementary budget proposal not to talk of getting it approved as you wrote?
Virement according to you is not complex. Please which of the sectors of the economy can you get 7.5 Billion Dollars (that's 3.6 trillion Naira) to transfer to fuel subsidy (being what we need for subsidy for 6 months).
Kukutenla: Have you ever heard of supplementary budget or virement
Yes, I have.
Have you ever heard that supplementary budget needs the national assembly's approval and requires them to deliberate on it which can take months before approval?
Are you aware that the national assembly has not yet even been constituted not to talk of knowing who would be calling the shots in the house to know who and how to lobby?
Are you aware that it is near impossible for a new executive to have a supplementary budget passed by a new legislature? before all the lobbying is sorted out it's already December when the main budget is expected.
maintenant: If you want me to consult for you on the subsidy regime, you know what to do...
You don't expect to expend intellectual capital here osho free...
I sincerely want you to do so, no pun intended. I always like learning about new things or fresh ideas and believe me, I am capable of understanding any complex technical terms by virtue of my education, so, hit me.
Minjim: Why can't they just delay the remover till July when Dangote will start refining?
Because they don't want to bring the price down from #185. They prefer to bring it down from #500 and put it somewhere around #300
The main problem is that there is no provision for it in the budget from June.
It's just like a kind of trap set up for the incoming administration. If Tinubu doesn't announce the removal now, where will he get the money to pay for that of July, the money allocated for subsidy in the budget ends in June.
wonder233: I don't know him. But may he rest in peace.
Nigerians, please when reacting to the news of the death of a person, please can you direct the "rip" to that person? Writing just "rip" is senseless. Is it the person reading your comment you're telling to rest in peace?
The person you are telling them to direct the RIP to can neither read what they write nor hear them. It's useless praying for the dead. it is those of us that are still alive that need prayers to live a good and fulfilled life to warrant us resting in peace after death.
onumadu: If Soludo doesn't face his job squarely in Anambra state, and keep making all these useless side comments, he may not get second term. Anambra remains Anambra.
Soludo is already looking at the bigger picture in 16 years.
What he said is the supreme court doesn't have the jurisdiction to entertain the case, it can only be entertained in the tribunal, and after the elections, a political party different from the main party can now talk about it. From Non-Qualification to Disqualification. Please read the post again
You may need to read the full judgement. The OP is actually not correct. The supreme court has ruled on the case not just throwing it away.
They specifically mentioned that Shetrima withdrew on 6th April immediately he was nominated for VP, another election was conducted on 11th April for the senatorial candidates which INEC was notified of, so there can't be any issue of double nomination on 14th.
That laid to rest anything about double nomination, the tribunal must toe the line of supreme court on this.
1. There is NO commercial bank in Nigeria that will reject a deposit of 11m dollars. Even come at 7pm, the branch manager himself will come to count the money.
2. Except it is a transaction you are coming to do and not a deposit that will benefit the branch in anyway, even if they can't count the money, it can be "vaulted" for you till the following day.
Conclusion, the amount involved is no where 11m dollars or the guy is not coming from any bank to deposit money, he is coming from or going for a non-banking business transaction that he can't disclose.
Whichever way, may God assist him to get over the loss and may God help us to all to be as wise as ....
iSense247: The allegations of perjury, forgery and double nominations against Tinubu and his running mate seems to be a disqualifier too much for Tinubu's camp to defend. I'm yet to read it anywhere where APC is making an attempt to defend themselves against these serious allegation except for saying that matter is an intra-party affair. Is it only a member of APC who can charge Tinubu to court for contravening the constitution?
Should the Friday judgement be in favour of PDP, what will happen on May 29?
The appeal court has already ruled on it that it is an intra party affair that's why APC is not losing sleep over it because SC will most likely rule same
But if not, and SC says anyone can sue, then the case goes back to the high court it started from to be determined.
The SC in this judgement cannot validate or disqualify shetrima or Tinubu
Ratello: If this matter of jurisdiction is the case, what stops Supreme Court from throwing it out, why are they interested in the case all of a sudden and will even give judgment after cross examining the parties involved despite the fact that this case had been thrown out by a Federal High Court and Court of Appeal as a pre election matter which PDP has no locus standi to bring it up.....why? This is why I am interested in the case.....judgment will be served on May 26th, know this.
No need to get overly excited. I hope you know that the Judgement that would be given by the supreme court is not to validate or sack Tinubu? It is only just to rule if PDP has the right to sue APC or not. If the case is ruled in favour of PDP then the case goes back to the high court to be determined, and if not, the case is thrown out.
onuman: Did you read me write that iRev is a transmission means?
I guess I misinterpreted you then. This is what you wrote that made me say that;
Million more people trooped to register and vote because of INEC vow to use the electronic transmission systems in real time to convey vote results from polling booth to the iREV portal.
Because INEC never said they were going to do electronic transmission of results, in fact there was no provision for that as BVAS is for accreditation only while IREV is for result viewing only based on uploaded copy of result sheets.
onuman: If iRev and BVAS don't determine who won the last presidential election, better say bye to Nigeria. No saner Nigerian is ready to stick to the old method where ballot papers would be thumbprinted in a private place for a political party considering the number of registered voters in the wards where the political party wanted to rig, results ready and taken to INEC. The rigging party got declared winner by INEC. No more. We spent billions on Bimodal voting equipments. Million more people trooped to register and vote because of INEC vow to use the electronic transmission systems in real time to convey vote results from polling booth to the iREV portal.
Point of correction, IREV is not for electronic transmission of result but rather result viewing portal.
The IREV is good to resolve cases like this when someone will sit down somewhere to write results, when you compare such result sheets with what was uploaded from polling unit then you have a case
Chimok: Nigerians had a once in a life time opportunity to change their narratives after decades of terrible governance in which everything about Nigeria is completely on reverse. The youths remain the biggest hit because of high rate of unemployment and underemployment.. Just as the politicians have planned and sustained, some of these unemployed youths became ready tools in the hands of these politicians. There is no doubt Peter Obi remains the best candidate among those contesting yet some of these youths whose lives have been traumatized by the failed leadership continued to offer themselves as tools to the detriment of themselves and the nation in general.
Which way nigeria
If you think this is a curse better be careful because if you voted for Obi or Atiku this curse might come on you. Technically it is those people that voted either of the aforementioned names that made Tinubu president. Add Obi's vote to Atiku's vote you will see that it would have been a landslide defeat for Tinubu.
So please don't curse those that made Tinubu president because you are indirectly cursing Atiku and Obi supporters that voted against each other.
sucemt: We can collaborate on something soon enough. I'm doing a work on Philosophy of African Liberation, and you may get or add one or two things in the making. O8o89104449
Anyway I can learn and also contribute is well appreciated by me.
To those who read this in good faith, the person above is clearly a crook and a fool. The person is trying to drag me into a debate which is not based in logic but on who shouts the loudest and who has the most time to waste.
I actually wanted to allow your ignorance slide but when I realized that your issue goes beyond ignorance but rather charlatan in nature, that's whey I decided to engage you.
I have been the one giving you facts and backing them up with references. You have been the one trying to make it a shouting match. Argument is not a bad thing, it's actually an intellectual exercise if you know how to.
If you make a claim, back it up with reference (You have not provided even one since you have been talking), I have given you Nigerian constitution, I have given you write ups, I have pointed some publications to you.
I will make sure to debunk any false claim you make on this matter so others like you will learn not to lay claim to knowledge of what they know nothing about. I am opened to learning myself and I promise to apologize for my ignorance if you can just prove your point to everybody to see, not your usual abuse.
Ghostwon82221: You may be looking at a motor, because the person clutching at straws is you.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wu4GSLI18s8 I can't argue with a fool. And your supposed quote of the Nigerian constitution (which you didn't provide) didn't claim that kings were under local government chairmen or were "mere advisers" of local government chairmen.
Remember what I told you about name calling? ignorant and pinheaded people use that to cover their intelligence lack.
I've provided you with where to go in the constitution you said you don't know how to read the constitution
Now, you show us where in the constitution that says the King is above the local government chairman, or you don't have anything to back up all those your rantings?
We are talking serious matter here, this is governance we are talking about. An adviser or special adviser on any matter to anybody, be it president, governor, LG chairman or even minister is only an appointee of the main person and he/she is a subordinate of the person that can be fired at any time the boss deem fit.
Ghostwon82221: It is funny how the goal post has shifted from "under local government" to "advise local government"...you can't argue with these guys... Their claim is always shifting...
This just looks to me as clutching at straws.
Nobody is claiming supremacy of knowledge here, if you don't know something and someone points it out to you, just take it and move on. And if you don't want to take it that okay, but don't mislead others by holding on to a false narrative just because you want to save face.
The simple base of the argument is under the Nigeria constitution a local government is above the king and that is a fact which I just showed you because the constitution says, the king is a mere adviser to the local government.
Ghostwon82221: You are supposed to make your argument as easily available as possible, not to set up road blocks in order to make verification of your proof difficult, unless you are trying to scam instead of acting in good faith.
In short, provide a link to the document, be as precise as possible, lead the interlocutors to the exact page and the exact lines if possible. It should be extremely easy for your interlocutors to have access to your proof.
I should provide a link to Nigeria constitution for you or tell you how to search for sections and sub-sections in the constitution?
Well, why don't you provide evidence for your argument even if it's just a quote, you don't need to give all the details the way I gave you. No need to even quote the constitution, Just anything to back up all your arguments since.
