I have forseen their failure since they have refused to abide by a simple rule of engaging qualified Ad-hoc members but rather turned the job to a family affair. We were 86 or thereabouts in my class during the course of the three days stressful and rigorous training in Obafemi Owode LGA, Ogun State. We were like six in numbers who were extremely doing fine and always recapping all what the training administrator has been teaching whenever he requested for that.

No test were offered after the 3 days training but to our greatest surprise. It was like the names of those pasted for the job were imported from Malaysia by time the final list was pasted. Some candidates want to protest in the LGA but I managed to used my public relations skills to avoid that. See crowd who were pointing an accusing fingers at the INEC staffs for doctoring the list but they couldn't utter a word.

No phone numbers and email address in most of the names Finally pasted. They are purely those who didn't attend the training at all... because as you are attending the training everyday. You are to put down your name, phone number and email address.

Uptil now, our training allowance has not been paid.

Sincerely speaking, we have been pushed to the wall by your outrageous and exorbitant charges. One of the greatest fraud currently going on in this country is this your estimated billing system. Community donated money, bought transformers, bought wires and other accessories running into millions of naira and you keep bringing bills ranging from N15k - 30k since the said transformer is now in a bad state and without light.

The intimidation and oppression of your touts you are parading as Field Staffs has now reach an unbearable denouement. Ask your CEO, trailer load of letters has been written to him without any reply or solution in sight.

Lend me your ears, providing a prepaid metres remains the only solution to all this brouhaha befalling your men and that seems to be the only language your company don't want to hear just because you have been feeding fat on your illegal disconnection fee of 3k.

Where in the world have you seen any self respected power or energy staffs still bringing ladders and keep constituting nuisance in the name of collection of energy consumption charges in the 21st century just because you don't have a competitor.

Ask yourself, is Ikeja Electricity the only discos we have in Nigeria? "The answer is Capital No". Why are they always attacking your Field Staffs? Frankly speaking, most of them behaves just like a garage touts and no iota of professionalism in their dealings with their customers.


I am now using this opportunity to plead with the FG stop this monumental fraud in the name of estimated billings by see to it that every customers are metered. NERC is not doing enough at all... My neighbour has paid for a prepaid & spent almost N100k for over a year now but yet to be provided with the meter. Yet, still bringing the same estimated billing. Haba!

Meanwhile, you think most of your loyal customers does not know what is going on. For your information, these outsourced staffs are more committed and dedicated than those useless core staffs you are parading like a king. I learnt from one of them last week that they were not covered with an ordinary HMO not to talk of reasonable loan.

While prepaid meters would reduce the incidence of people not paying their bills....even with that, some people bypass their meters.

Some years ago, some DISCO officals in the area where I used to live caught a guy bypassing his prepaid meter. The resulting confrontation forced the DISCO guys to call the police.

And at my new residence, the previous renter of one of the neighbouring flats bypassed his meter...and had a fine imposed...which he did not pay(and which my landlord had to sort out before the next tenants came).

I won't be surprised IF the chap in question actually has a meter...and bypassed it.

The level of intimidation and oppression from this nuisance called IKEDC Officials has reached a denouement. The have been paying for darkness for so long. They will just stroll into your compound and start behaving like they are the one who built your house for you. We have been pushed to the wall.

The mindset of the Nigerian Police towards the fellow citizens needs to be reconfigured. Regular training and re-training is only way out. There is need for the force to get rids of the bag eggs spoiling their image in the name N100 being collected from the motorist and their wrong manner of approach to people. Police can do better by being professional in their conduct.

The more you do this, the more public hates you.
