Noah tickled me as I tried to get away from him, I had won the game because I cheated. so he kept tickling me to punish me.

"st.....op....it" I choked on my laughter as I tried to grab his jaw, but he just pinned my hand and kept tickling me with his other hand.

"ple..ase now".

He stopped and made me roll over him. He grinned nd I smacked his chest. He held his chest playfully, like it had an effect on him.

" you this girl, you are a cheat Shey you know"

"yea I know, more of a talent" I wiggled my tongue which made him laugh. The rain had stopped now, but I didn't let him go home. I mean it was too dangerous to walk home.

He kept staring at me and I felt a little uneasy. I gave him slight smile.
He put his hand on my back and pulled me closer. I opened my mouth to say something, but he suddenly covered my mouth with his.

my lips parted with a sharp intake of breath.

He rolled over me,pulled back and gazed at my lips. He slowly leaned in to kiss me again. I stared at him before closing my eyes while kissing him.

A small moan escaped my lips. The taste of his lips was just so awesome.He drew closer to me, this time my breast were pressed against his hard chest. i returned his kiss and then wrapped my arms around him. Lola POV


I stood in front of Noah's apartment and dialled his number, he picked it up at first ring.

In a few seconds he came out to meet me. " why didn't you just knock on my door, rather than calling me" he furrowed his eyebrows.

" Am...... sorry. look I came to talk to you about Ife" I exhaled and looked at him.

He squinted his eyes " what's with Ife this time".

"she's been threatening me".

He put his arms around my neck and we walked into his apartment.

" are you sure it's her?" He looked confused.

"oh! do you have other girls I should be worried about" I flared.

" hey, come down..... okay?". He sat down on his bed and motioned me to sit too. He gave me a weak smile which made me return it a glare.

I was so not in the mood for a smile or whatsoever. I needed those text messages to stop.

"you need to talk to her...... Am so scared right now,I've been having dreams"

Noah put his palm on his lips trying to hold back his laughter. I punched him a little and gave him i-am-serious look which made him stop laughing.

He leaned on his back and stared at the ceiling.

"those messages are scary Noah.....please tell her to stop"

"oh......Kay okay! I will. but I don't think you should take her seriously"

I glared at him. I stood up and went for the door .

I turned at the doorway to look at him "just help me talk to her... please". I walked out of his room and went back home.

Noah's POV

"Ife you have to stop all this crap!". she just kept looking at me. I felt like smashing her face but I had to be a gentle man.


"I don't even know what you are talking about" she replied.


"next time she gets any message from you.... I swear you'll regret ever knowing me" I shouted.


she wiped the tears on her face" you are threatening me beacuase of that idiot".

"I don't care...... just.. just stop messaging her". I shook my finger at her, in a bid to warn her and stepped back. I gave her one last look then walked off.

I sat in the lecture room while the lecturer spoke, we had ARC101. "lola" I felt someone tap me from the back, I turned around and smiled at him.

Ife had stopped sending me messages. in fact anytime she sees me, she always avoids me like a plague.

Rose and I went out on several dates with Danladi and Noah (double dates). As for ade, haven't been seeing much of him to my relief.

"what's up" he smiled at me and I chuckled " we'll talk after class.....". He smiled and started jotting.

"lola". Noah grabbed my wrist.

"Noah" I smiled.

"i was thinking if we could hang out this evening"

"we hang out evrytime" I rolled my eyes.

"I mean like a real date.... just you and I alone".

" oh that type of da..'re" I dragged my words and raised my eyebrows, which made him laugh.

" Yes that type " he nodded.

" okay...I'll be ready by 7:00, don't keep me waiting".

He smiled and put his hand around my waist and walked to our next class.

" you should have stayed back now...look at you...your cloth is dripping". I exclaimed and dragged him inside my room,

Rose wasn't around so it was just Noah and I. He went straight into the bathroom and locked the door.

He came out with one of my towels,he placed it around his neck.

"I guess there won't be any date" he sighed, I could see he was frustrated already.

" we can have a date here...we can just play scrabble... I have some slice bread to, so I'll just make a sandwich" I looked at him. He smileed at me and I went to the kitchen to prepare the sandwich.


within ten minutes I was back with the plates of sandwich. i served him his plate and got the scrabble from where I kept it.


"do you want to eat first?" I asked.


"I'll do both" he gave me a slight smile.

"I really liked this film" I smiled and nudged Noah's arm. He scrunched his face pretending to feel the pain on his arm. " Am glad you did". He took my hand in his palm which made me shudder. I drew my hand back immediately.

" Am still mad at you Noah" . I paused waiting for his response, he kept his gaze and acted calm.

" The girl thinks you are her boyfriend"

"am not" he retorted.

"she really likes you Noah ....I .... don't even think am a match sef, she's so pretty-"

"you are pretty too". Noah took my hands back in his hands. He had a way of looking at me that always make me feel like drawing him closer and kiss him.

He stared into my eyes and licked his lips which made its colour more prominent. I leaned in for a kiss but he pulled back. I was astonished by his action but he simply smiled.


" am not going to kiss you, until you believe me.... Lola that girl isn't even my type".

"stop acting like she's just some girl jor". I wrinkled my face and pout my mouth which made him chuckle.

"what's her name?" I asked

" Why would you need her name". He looked so confused.

"I just want to know jor"

"Ife" he replied.

" Oh okay". I cleared my throat and crossed my arms loosely on my chest.




chapter 13


lola's POV


"Why won't this girl just leave me alone now" . I let out a groan, Rose gave me a questioning look and handed my phone to her.

" Why would any normal person send this to someone.... don't mind her Lola.... she's just bluffing". Rose returned the phone to me and gave me a reassuring smile. I sighed heavily , took the phone from her and kept it in my bag. I had been getting crazy text messages from Ife for the past one week. How she got my number is what I don't even know.

I initially thought it was all a joke, but right now telling me she'd rip my face off isn't something i can joke with. This message sent a chill down my spine.

I couldn't concentrate throught the days lectures. I rushed home and left Rose in school.

' I have to tell Noah' i thought within . He is the only one who could stop her from sending further messages to me. I dialled his number as soon as I got home.


'the number you've dialled is not available at the moment , plea.....' I cut the phone and slumped on my bed. I couldn't think straight but I forced my body to cooperate. I slowly fell asleep in my room, the o my place I co sidered safe from harm's way.

she launched a punch at my face which made me fall to the ground. I tried to get back on my feet but I was too late, she sat on me and scratched my face with her disgusting long nails.

I screamed for Rose but she just stood there fear written all over face.

Ife stood up and rolled me in the mud, she sat on my back , this time she kept hitting me with a big hard stone.


just when I thought my life would be over soon, Rose pushed her off me and they both rolled, each struggling to over power the other. in split seconds Rose took the stone from her and kept smashing her face with it.

I weakly stood up and held Rose's hand , I stared at ife's blood covered face and I couldn't even recognise her any longer.

I kept crying and scream "she dead! oh my God!"

I screamed loud enough to make rose startled.

"are you okay. You sounded like you were crying" she had a concerned look on her face. I decided against telling her, she would only think am been paranoid..............

The next two hours of lecture was a bit boring. I couldn't concentrate on what the lecturer taught us, he just kept going on and on about a topic which made me wish I had just stayed home. I kept playing candy crush on my phone.

" So class this is going to be a group work, you'll be grouped according to your matric numbers" the lecturer said.

I was extremely happy when he carried his books and left the class.

As soon as I got to know my group members, I dashed out of the lecture room and went for my next lecture. I quickened my steps when I saw ' the girl's who attacked me. she was chatting gleefully with her friends. I turned around immediately to take the other stair case when I heard her call me. as much as she was beautiful, I hated her voice.

"hey" she gave me a mona-lisa kind of smile which made me so uncomfortable.


'this girl is so fake'. I thought within.


I looked away and adjusted the straps of my bag.

"hi" I replied coldly. I resented her so much even though I know little about her, the little I knew was enough for me. I mean what normal person would blame me for being friendly with Noah. she didn't know our story. we've been practically enemies for a long time, now that I've finally got to know how nice he is, I would do anything to keep him as mine


"its still funny he left me for you". she kept gesturing with her small hands in a way that irritates me. I kept my cool and let out a soft sigh.

" Am sorry ....who?" I asked . she fumed at me and her face turned sour which made chuckle. I love the fact that I was really getting under her skin.

"look here You idiot..... he's mine, you better stay away" she roared.

"I still don't know what you are on about..... Anyway.. I'll see you around" I gave her a disdainful look and walked away.

I walked into the lecture hall trying to search for rose. she had told me she was going to ditch the first lecture but was going to show up for URP 103.


I found a seat and sat down. I took out my phone , attached it's earpiece to eat and plug it into my ears. I felt someone tap me which made me look back........

chapter 12



lola's POV




"I came to check on you" he said and I avoid his gaze.

I fumbled with the door knob confused on what to do. I felt like shutting the door on him, but then again I wanted to spend the whole day with him.

I had ditched lectures today because I had a little stomach upset, I couldn't look after myself all day because rose had travelled to get some food stuffs, so it was more like a blessing he visited.

I step aside and let him in.

"rose called me....have you used any drugs?" He looked concerned which made me feel like pulling him into a tight hug. I gave him a soft nod.

slumped back on my bed and drank the water next to me. The water made feel like throwing up but i had no choice but to finish it up because of the powdered drugs I had put in it. Noah sat next to me and brought out some discs.

"I brought some films....I don't know what you would like" he took out his laptop and showed me the CD's

I looked through all the films and one caught my attention.

"kill Bill?... I have been looking for this film" I exclaimed excitedly and played the film. he gave me a smile which showed he was pleased by the way I reacted.

lola's pov


I woke up to the smell of food from the kitchen. I turned around on the bed as I searched around with my hands trying to touch Noah , I opened my eyes when I realised he wasn't beside me.


I got up from the bed. I walked into the kitchen while squinting my eyes.

"Noah I didn't know you'd be up this early" I said surprised. I gulped a bit when I see him turn around. 'uhmmm .....and why aren't you having your shirt on?" I arched my left brow in question. He laughed and returned his attention to what he was doing.

I cleared my throat and glanced at him, he was busy mixing eggs with spice. I heaistated a little then walked to where he was. "let me finish it up for you" I made to collect the fork from him.

"don't worry am almost done, I cooked this potatoes too" he said pointing toward the peeled skin of potatoes left on the side of the sink.

" Am surprised" I said.

"about what?" He asked .

" It's not common seeing a guy cook for a girl". I fixed my eyes on him waiting for his response. he simply frowned a little and shook his head. "it's like you get this ideas in your head and act like you know a lot about every guy. I am not a chauvunist, so me cooking isn't even a big deal. besides my mum......was..... . You know what never mind" he let out a heavy sigh.

"well I don't know much about other guys, but I know you too well" I scoffed.

" Okay...." he replied sounding less concerned about anything I had to say.

" You bullied me for years ...rememb-?"

"Are we still on this? Noah flared "I already apologised to you" his eyes were now red.


"look just because you beat someone up for me ....doesn't make you are any better" I shot back. Noah looked dejected. He switched off the gas and walked out of the kitchen. I followed seconds later.


"where are you going?" I asked

"home" he replied. Not caring to acknowledge my presence.

"I was just pulling your legs" I tried to seize his arm,but he gently removes it from qrasp.

" No you weren't. You believe you know me too well" he replied "but you know nothing". He went straight for the door and left me standing.

"Noah" I called out as I tried to push through the crowd in front of my faculty. I had lecture by 9:am but I needed to talk to Noah. I had called him a number of times on his phones but he wouldn't pick my calls.

I don't get why he's angry with me, but I needed to apologise and just get this over with.

I stopped to catch my breath before calling out his name again, this time he looked back, with a frown. He stopped walking, which allowed me to catch up.

"why are you even ignoring me?" I let out a heavy breath.

"uh... why would I ignore you?" He asked .

"gosh! stop feigning innocence" I was frustrated by his response.

it was understandable if he didn't want to talk to me, but that didn't give him any reason to act so insensitive. I glare at him and he gave me a nonchalant shrug.

" You know what?...screw you" I tapped his chest with my fingers which made him stagger before walking off.

"come on .." he sprints after me " ok ... Am sorry"

"well you should be. I was only pulling your legs. but you took it way too personal". I replied.

" why won't i?" He looked at me intently. he was obviously angry.

"I should be the one getting all angry, not you.... You led me on into thinking we had a thing-" I was enraged. people gave us stares but I didn't care.

Noah let's out a loud grunt. "that girl is not even my girlfriend, yes we had a thing... but that's it .. just a thing"

"hmm... Am sure that'll be the same thing you'd te other girls when you are done with me" I replied.


"I can't believe you'd say this....I like you a lot" he slides his finger through his hair in frustration.

I shooked my head and looked at him straight in the eye " then prove it". I walked straight into the lecture room.

Ade's face was covered in blood as he lay there not moving. I rushed to where he was when I noticed he was still breathing which made me heave a sigh of relief.

I gave Noah a look of disbelief which made him shrug " the idiot deserved it" he straightened his wrinkled shirt and dust of some diets on his jeans. Ade stood up and tried to swing a punch at Noah from the back but Danladi was quick to lunch another punch at him, he shoved ade to the wall and held on to the collar of his polo " back off".

Noah held my wrist and pulled me away while Danladi walked back to the party.

"let me take you home" Noah said.

"no!" I snapped .

"what's wrong ... with you.. I just risked my life for you"

"you see... that is the problem 'risked' .. what if he hurt you" I cried .

"well he didn't" he scoffed .

we walked silently back to my house. when we got to my house i fumbled with the keys which made Noah take it from me and open the door. I entered my room and dropped my bag on the floor. I walked to the table and took my face wipe to remove my make-up. Noah stood at the door and gave me a weak smile "I'll see you tomorrow"

"please stay with me" I said in a shaky voice .He gazed at me in amazement before walking into my room......

chapter 10




lola's POV


we strolled around in the neigbourhood . I had told Noah earlier I didn't want to go to any restaurants because to me it was just a waste of resources and besides we wouldn't have as much fun as walking around, laughing and shouting.

I had always believed Noah to be some arrogant, spoilt rich kid but the reverse is the case. he's nicer than I thought and I think I am already falling for him.

I held his hand in glee and kept swinging it. " You such a cutie Lola". I laughed quietly and gave him small squeeze before sliding my hand off his.

God he looks so irresistible. even though I hate the fact that I already like him, I didn't want to show him but I can't help it.

"I know I look attractive but am I really safe walking with you?" He said softly.

"uh... uh" I stammered.

" You like me don't you?" He grinned and i punched him on his shoulder. we were both arguing on whether I liked him or not when we got interrupted by someone..... a girl.

I turned and looked at her, she looked absolutely gorgeous. she had long shapely legs with a small curvy hips any guy would kill for. she gave me weird looks which I over looked it. she tried to lunch a slap at me before realizing I had been staring for quite sometime. No I am not a lesbian but that girl looks beautiful, I staggered as Noah pushed me away in other to protect me from the assault .

"this thing is the reason why you left me ?" She shouted at Noah while she tried to loosen noah's grip from her hands. " I'll show You" .

"I don't even know you..." I replied.

"he's my boyfriend idiot" . I got confused with her response, I looked to Noah for an explanation but he kept muttering I can explain.

I felt like hitting him. ' why would he let me like him when he knew he had someone's I wondered.

I didn't shout, I just glared at him silently. I hated been caught up in situations like this. I walked away from the two and I heard them arguing.

I heard foots steps running behind me and I was suddenly caught in the waist, I turned around to see it was now trying to beg me. I pushed him away and shouted at him "stay away from me"

" hey Lola" Rose said coming over to me, she had abandoned me earlier and went of with danladi.

"do you like the party?"
I nodded "yea I do, not that I have a choice. do i?"

Rose slapped me on the back "stop with act jor, Noah will be here soon. He went to get more drinks. so please loosen up.

my stomach churned at the mention of noah's name.I didn't want to talk about him and I had done a a good job avoiding that topic.
Rose too a cup of alcohol and gulped it. I opened my mouth in awe and snatched the cup from her, but she had already finished it. i looked at her and frowned "since when did you start drinking?" I asked.

" since now, don't worry I'll be good" she let out a fruity laugh.

"just be safe" I said. I walked away as soon as I saw ade coming our way.

He caught up with me and dragged me outside.

"what?" I screamed and pulled away from him.

"babe... I... miss you " he belched. I scrunched my nose at the stench of alcohol hoozing out from his breath.

"come on ........don't tell me ....You... don't miss me band's

"don't call me babe". He tried to wal away but he dragged me back " not so fast. don't you.... want to hang out with... me?"

I tried to push him away again but he pulls me back and twists my hand to the back. his height and muscular chest hovered over me. his grip tightened and I screamed but this time he covered my pith with his palm.

"I let you go that day. it doesn't.. mean you are escaping this time around". He shoved me to the fence at a corner in the compound and turned me around making me back face him.

I cried and shook. I tried to kick him but he was too strong.

"somebody help me!" I screamed through his palm.

"I swear I kill you... if you shout again" he tightened his palm on my mouth when I heard a familiar voice..... Noah. I bit his palm with every strength in me and stomped his foot he lets out a shout and I scream for Noah.

Noah rushed to where I was and pushed ade away which made him fall.

Ade growled, he staggered and raised his fist to hit Noah, but Noah was quick, he kicked Add in the face which made him fall again. before ade could get up Noah punched his face, I kept crying as I tried to pull noah away. I knew ade is a violent type and I was scared he would hurt Noah.I pleaded to Noah but he didn't listen, he just kept connecting his fists to Ade's face.

Ade lay on the ground weak, I was scared he was dead already so I rush back to the party to get danladi.

we both rushed out to meet them , but was shocked at what we saw...............

I choked at the sight of it and Noah grinned when he noticed I was looking at him. I quickly stood up and sat down on the chair while Noah followed.

He pulled me from where I sat and whispered into my ear "come see me off".

I nod and followed him out of my room and walked him down the street silently. during this time he never took his eyes away from me. He took my hand in his and smiled. "lets go to my place"

I drew my hand away from his and looked at him. I had never visited his apartment, how come his asking me to come over now.

'gosh How silly am I. of course he wants to sleep with me I thought.

"never" I shook my head and kept walking.

"why?" He replied.

" after what happened ? you know what ...... stop it......stop asking me any question. You almost took my breats out of my bra. so no ... I am not coming to your house" . He looked at my and let out an hearty laugh.

"slow down...... You didn't even stop me when I wanted to touch you... if your friend never came home I would have done more, so why are you mad at me"

I Stare at him in this disbelief, I can't believe he just said that. He was right I should have stopped him, but I enjoyed every inch of what he did. I let out a sigh and shrugged.

"party, I hate parties" I replied. she gave me a blank expression, she took her phone and started playing games on it.

" hey, I was wondering if we could hang out today" he said from the other end of the phone.

" shouldn't you be help tyour friend for the party?" I replied

"I need an answer, not a question"

"okay... I'll hang out" I replied

"thanks cutie, I'll see you around then " . I could feel his excitement.

" He wants to hangout rose" . she laughed and starts jumping on the bed excitedly. "I'll something for you"

lola's POV


I study him as he walked out of the cinema, rose and danladi were already ahead .They look so cute together. rose hasn't really told me anything about them since we just got back to talking.

"hey" Noah stopped in his tracks and turned to look at me. I smiled nervously at him as he waits for me to catch up with him.

" Uh..... so did you like the movie ?" He asked and I nodded and looked down as I twist my fingers.

"good..........." he chuckle. Rose called out to us, we walked faster and quickened our steps.

The next day I stay glued to my seat, I couldn't walk around the department because of the fear of been made fun of. I couldn't go to the cafeteria. I had to send Rose to help me get something to eat and bring it to class. in fact I came to class because we had a test that I needed to do.

I looked at where Ade sat as he laughed with his friends. I gave him death glares before I was distracted.

"if looks could " Noah said.
I turned around to see him smiling down at me and I smiled back.

" You know .... you'll have to report him to the school authority about what he did to you"

"No! I don't want to report him, besides.... I already cleared my name"

He looked at Ade who cocked his eyebrows in return. I tried to hold Noah's arm but he jerks always from me, not in a violent way but in a way that showed he was very angry. He probably saw as a coward.

yes I am scared of what would happen if I report him. Noah had told me to tell the authorities that he was blackmailing me and finally released some pictures. "so what really happened back at school?" Rose asked as she takes off her shoes and her jacket.

I was about to explain to her when I heard a knock on the door. I stood there looking at the person staring down at me when I opened the door.

I was angry at him, but I couldn't help but stare at his gorgeous face. He smiled at me wearily as he steps closer trying to get into my room. I stopped him abruptly as my hand lands on his chest trying to block him from entering. It felt so good touching him and I wish I could justt pull him closer and lay my head on his hard chest.

'No! I have to stay d at him' i thjought.

I frowned at him.
"enjoying the feeling right?" He smirked at me. I quickly pulled my hand away and he chuckles. I back away as he entered my room and greeted rose who replied him and left the room.

lola's POV
The following day, i woke up feeling so weak. I had locked myself in the room and avoided people,I couldn't eat not drink anything. in short I didn't feel hungry at all. I was scared. I just laid on my bed and stared at the ceiling. I just want to end this. even if I had to take my life.

it was like I was cursed right from birth. people always found a way to make my life miserable.

I was lost in my thoughts, I didn't see rose come in with danladi and Noah. I smiled sadly at my friend. For the first time in a long while she smiled back.

"I heard what happened- is - true?" rose said as she smiled at me and motioned her visitors to sit too.

"No! you know too well . How can I be that foolish to send something like that to him. why? why am I so unlucky"

"yes I know you very well. plea-se stop - stop crying Lola. I'll help you get through this.

"how? this is a stigma " I sobbed . unable to control my emotions.

"we'll get through this. I promise."rose pulled me closer and hugged me,as i wept on her shoulder.

"I just want to die already"

Rose pulled back and stared at me in shock. " No! don't you dare say that again."

"rose am sorry for how I treated you, I never knew it would hurt you" I said sniffing as I tried to clean my tears away with the back of my Palm.

I looked towards where Danladi and Noah sat. Danladi smiled at me in a way that made me feel safe, but as soon as I glanced at Noah, he quickly looked away.


I stood up and went to where danladi and Noah sat.

"Am sorry " I said slowly.

"its okay. Lola. we could just start a fresh" Danladi smiled at me reassuringly.

I looked at Noah, but he never uttered a word. I couldn't even read him at that moment. His face was void of emotions.

"can I even still face people in the department" I said as I turned to rose.

I smiled at her. she went towards our wardrobe and brought out a short dress.

"go and have your bath. You wearing this, let's go to the mall" she said.

As soon we entered the mall, I could already feel my mood lighten. it isn't the shopping that made me feel this way. I was just happy I made peace with my best friend and then the fluorescent lights and high ceiling already made me feel alive.

we went where they sold ice creams and we bought it, Danladi paid for the four us and then we were served. Noah never stopped giving me intense stares which made me feel really shy.

it got to a stage I wanted to tell him to stop staring, but I didn't have the guts to, I just apologised to the three of them. I don't want to act mean again.

As soon as we finished taking our ice creams, we walked down to the cinema to get tickets for a movie. we were told we couldn't take in the edible things we bought because it wasn't a product of the cinema. we had to sit and eat what we could eat and we hid some things in our bags( rose and I).

when we walked into the film theartre. it was so dark I had to hold rose's hand which made her laugh. she told me she was going to sit and the back because she wanted to have an alone time with 'him'.

"I can't sit with Noah" I whispered to rose, which made her laugh even louder.

"He's not going to eat you." she said as she claimed the stairs leading to the back seat.I stood at the fifth step before Turing to my left to sit and the last chair on that row. I sat down until I noticed Noah had followed me too.


I could see the outline of his face from the lights of the screen. He smirked at me, before paying ful attention to the film that was been played.

I watched him frowned as he stood up and opened the door "ohh before I change my mind " he said. I stood there confused on what to do. he glared and shouted at me "now!". I shook. I feared for my safety at that moment, because I knew the type of guy I was dealing with, he's a very temperamental person.

I quickly took my bag and my phone and ran out of his room without looking back. I wondered why he didn't even beat me when I hit him. I guess I was only lucky. I felt hot tears roll down my cheeks uncontrollably as I waited in the rain outside his compound.

I saw a bike-man coming towards me and I waved him down. I told him the address of where I was going and he took me there.

when I dropped from his bike, I played him his money and I head straight to my room, I noticed the door was slightly opened so I entered without knocking.

I saw rose laughing hysterically with danladi, I guess he must have said something really funny, you know rose for being rose. she was the type of girl that loved laughing a lot.

I looked at her as our eyes locked, which made her happy face turn into a frown. I greeted them, but only Danladi replied. I could see he was surprised because I had always ignored them whenever I see them.

I was still mad at rose telling me to get out of our room and even choosing a guy over me her best friend, although I was already getting tired of the grudge we kept. it made me feel really guilty any time I see her.

"rose i am greeting you" she looked at me with disdain which made me feel really worthless. she scowled at me and hissed. this was strange to becuasr rose wasn't that type of girl , she is a very soft girl who hates quarrels.

she stood up and pulled Danladi with her and they both left the room. I watched where she stood before leaving and I slumped on my bed tired of everything, life, school. I have lost my best friend who loved me so much and accepts all my flaws. I resumed crying again, this time sobbed violently and my body shooked uncontrollably.I wish rose would forgive me, but I was to proud to tell her how sorry I was. or maybe I was just scared of what her reactions would be if I apologised.

I sobbed for what felt like hours before drifting to sleep.

I woke up to the sound coming from my phone. it was an alarm sound which i had set on my phone and it always sounded every weekdays in the mornign, so that I wouldn't be late for my early morning lectures.

I didn't want to leave my bed yet. I was really enjoying my sleep and besides my eyes are so heavy due to me crying last night.

for some reasons I didn't want to face Ade just yet , after that incident that happened yesterday evening.

After about two minutes I finallystood up and went straight into the bathrroom to have my bath. I left the bathroom almost immediately and I searched through my pile of cloths in the wardrobe as I searched for what to wear.

I walked straight into the lecture room and the place was already filled up with familiar faces, some talked while others stopped talking and whispered when they noticed me enter the hall.I walked to the back of the hall and sat at a corner.

I turned around and saw three girls staring and whispering. one of them chuckled when our eyes meet.

"she's a bitch" she said. I turned back and took my book out to read something before the lecture starts. I heard another girl whispered " I can't believe she was stupid Enough to send such to him" she said in a tone that obviously showed she was irritated.which made me feel uneasy.

Just then a guy walked past where I sat and stepped on my leg.I looked up and saw the mischief in his eyes. He must have intentionally stepped on me.

later after lectures was over ,I walked out of the hall slowly when a girl approached me. she wasn't my friend but she is a familiar face. she told me about a rumour been spread around about me.

the girl sat on a white plastic chair, she felt uncomfortable been her first time of visiting him.
" You look tensed " he said as walked to her and pulled her up from where she sat and led her to his bed. she tried to pull back but he was already dragging her.

" What will you eat jor" he smiled at her,and turned on the tv.she shrugged, she didn't want to eat in his house but he was really pestering her and even said he would be mad at her if she didn't eat. she didn't wanted to annoy him by saying no, so she agreed to prepare spaghetti, fried plantain with stew. she had finished cooking and was washing some plates in his kitchen when she felt his hands around her waist. she wriggled herself from his grip which made her even press her back more on his crotch. she felt his bulge pressed on her, which made her feel more uncomfortable.


" You know the more you try to push me away the more you turn me on" he smirked at her. she was terrified at what he said but she had to act calm.

when people said things like ' best friend's makes the worst enemies, Lola ademola wouldn't have ever thought that quote would mean a thing to her, it had been three weeks her and her best friend rose stopped talking, she had wished things would just go back to normal, but she couldn't herself to the level of apologising and asking for forgiveness. things had really changed between them, they've stopped cooking together, inshort they've stopped doing things together. there was a day rose had borrowed one of lola's sandals and it had become a serious fight which could have gone really physical, but for the intervention of their neighbours. Lola had insulted rose and called her all sorts of nasty names. those days when they were best friend's are gone now, rose hardly sleeps in the room now that she has new friends, she wanted nothing to do with Lola again. Lola wanted to prove to her best friend, she didn't need her. she was now very close to Ade, they had gone strolled together one evening when ade told her he liked her. "Lola i want you to be mine" he said as he held her hands tight, but in a way that she wouldn't feel Any pressure. she looked into his eyes unsure of what to say. "I don't know add" she said as she pulls her hand slowly away from ade's grip and looked down. she always felt she around ade. she couldn't explain why it was like that, but what mattered to was that she liked him.

" What do you mean by you don't k know?" ade asked, as his eyes narrow .his tone had changed which made her a bit frightened. the guy whose eyes was once sparkling with excitement had turn sour.

Danladi and I were ushered in by rose. I must say the room is really beautiful and very feminine, which I like. The wall were painted peach an it had cream on every knobs as well as the bed spread, I looked around the room until my eyes locked with someone seated on a plastic chair.......

Her brown eyes narrowed " what is he doing here ?" Rose smiled slightly and sat on the bed. She didn't know what to tell her friend.

"I said what is he doing here?"

Rose voice croaked as she tries to explain to Lola.

"answer me now" Lola stood up, her small hands balled into tiny fists and her eyes filled with angry colour. Rose worsened everything with her response " they are my friends- I- have the right to invite anyone here".

Lola saw heat coming into her face, she was ready to throw them out "we both have the right, you should have asked me first"

Rose anger was just below the surface, so she kept silent.

" how would you bring this devil into our room". She looked over at Noah and his friend who were already sitting on the bed.

Rose shouted at her in a loud and unpleasant way " you know what, if you don't feel comfortable- then leave, we both paid for this room".

Lola glared at rose " wow! So this is it, I should leave?" She asked in a softer voice.

" yes go" she waved in a 'whatever ' kind of way.

Lola stuffed her bag with some book,her library card and her phone. She stormed out of the room grumbling as she slammed the door.

Lola opened the library door and went straight into the reception,where the libarian sat, she showed the woman her library card. The woman fixed her glasses on her nose bridge as she read out her name, she returned the library card to Lola and smiled at her which Lola returned with a quick smile.

Lola walked away from from the librarian, she went straight and turned right where there were empty seats, with lots of books on the shelves. She spotted a corner and walked there, she took out her phone and put it on silence mood. She also took out her.chemistry 101 text book and began to srudy. Five minutes into studying, she noticed she was blocked from the natural light the window provided, she looked up and saw Ade staring down at her.

"hey" his voice was deep and hoarse. She flashed him a smile.

"it's been a while I saw you" he said

"it's been a while I saw you too" she gave him am accusatory look.

" yea, am sorry I didn't call you. I have been busy" he explained with all sincerity.She say with her and they chatted silently. He asked lots of questions, which included some personal things.

It was drizzling slightly as rose walked down the street, she was going to meet Noah. She had lots of work to do for the day and it was still early in the morning,Noah had called her that he wanted to talk to her about something important, which she knew the 'important' thing was Lola. She saw Noah and another guy near a shop where most students who lived outside campus bought something, he waved at her and she approached them. She noticed the guy looked handsome from a closer look, he had beautiful eyes, with long eyelashes, he had the eyes of a woman but he still has a tall , athletic built, he had a nice pointy nose too and a tattoo on his lower arm.

"ahem ahem" Noah made a sound.

She looked up at Noah and realised she had been staring and checking noah's friend out for God knows how long.


" yea.... Noah ..Uhm. .. what's up?, I hope what you want to tell me is important"he smiled at her,he looked towards his friend and back at rose " meet my friend, danladi" he said .


" hello, it's nice to meet you".

"Uhm ...m... Hi" rose stuttered and took her eyes away before dragging Noah away from danladi. She looked back smiled and flashed him a smile.

" what was that about?" Rose asked.

" he likes you, he saw you just once and he's been crazy about you ever since" rose looked in danladi's direction and bit her lips.


"ohh you could have told me you had company, especially someone who likes me. I would have had my bath at least. My breath stinks". She breathed out on her palm and tried to smell her breath .

"its no big deal , besides isn't it better he saw the real you?" He laughed . "anyway how is lola?"

"she's fine" she looked at him trying read his mind."do you like her?"

"what- no I don't" he lied.

" look you can tell if you do"

"I don't know-how really. I just find her fascinating, you know?" He scratched the back of his head, hevdudnt want to disclose too much. Hevwasnt comfortable talking about this with a girl. He preferred having talks like this with his friends.

"okay then, let's go back to your friend . He looks tired from standing" she said and they approached danladi.

"Ehn wait, can I have your number ?" He said pointing his phone to Rose which she collected and pressed her digits. She returned it. She smiled at danladi, waved at Noah before walking away.

"oh! We'll be visiting you this evening, I hope you won't be busy" Noah said.

"he's coming in the evening" rose blurted

"wow! So fast? You guys are getting down to business sharp sharp . Please make sure you use a condom ooo" she wiggled her tongue at her friend. Rose eyes widened in shocked, she laughed and threw a small plastic spoon that was on the floor at Lola........

Lola and rose sat on their seats after lectures, Lola wrote while rose was pressing her phone.
After she finished writing, she tidied up her books and stuuffed it in her bag, just then she saw Noah seated with some guys, their eyes locked and she quickly looked away, he decided he was going to go talk to them.

"um........hello" Noah said smiling.

"Don't you ever learn?" Lola replied annoyed.

"look I wasn't even talking to you, I was greeting rose" he was already getting irritated by the way she treated him, he knew he didn't really deserve lola's forgiveness but that didnt her the right to talk to him that way. He looked at her eyes, shook his head before turning his attention to rose.

" how are you rose".

"Uhm-um- am fine" she stuttered .

"since when did you start stuttering" Lola whispered to her friend.

" shut up " shevwhsipered back.

Lola shot her friend a look, her eyes looked dead, void of my emotion, only if looks could kill. Rose shook her head and smiled at Noah.

"can I talk to you privately about something, I won't take much of your time". Rose froze and choked on saliva, she was surprised Noah wanted to see her, he pulled her to the corner of the lecture hall.

'what could be so important' Lola thought.

Lola watched them go. Noah and rose had never been friends.

"rose, I know I have been an idiot to you and Lola in the past, and now she hates me so much".

"you wouldn't really blame her you know".

"yea I know and am sorry" he said.

"it's okay" rose said awkwardly,she kept twsuting her fingers with her other hand in a way that made it obvious she was uncomfortable.

"i need you to talk to Lola on my behalf".

" yea I will" rose said smiling.

"one more thing, can I borrow your MEE 101 note book? I missed the last class" rose searched through her bag and handed her note book to him, be for walking towards rose who was still glaring at Noah.


" what was that brief meeting about?" Lola said in a sarcastic tone.
Rose struggled to keep her cool. Her friend would be mad at her if she knew Noah had asked to talk to Loa and she even agreed. She had the stealth of a ninja of course her friend would know if she lied, nothing ever gets past her.

"oh! It's nothing, Noah asked me to borrow him some of my notes, he missed some lectures you know" rose hoped the vague answer would be enough to drop the subject. And it wasn't technically a lie, it just wasn't the full truth either.

" and why would he want your note book, you guys aren't even frie-". A sigh escaped Her lips as she contemplated the inevitable. Rose was going to have to lie to her friend, at least until they got home. she had decided she would tell her when they get to the hostel , she couldn't be sure of her friends reaction so she needed to choose where to talk about Noah,she hated lying to her, mainly because she seemed to be a human lie detector, either that or she's just a bad liar. And judging by her current stance, she had better answer it soon.
Her patience was wearing thin.

" look does it really matter if we are friends or not ", rose quickly cut her off in the middle of her sentence.

"ok-ok-ay I was just curious .

Rose felt victorious as she looked at her friend'a face, giving her a quick smile before changing the topic. She bought it. well more like her friend, she dropped the subject which was more than enough.

A new friend


lola's POV
I and rose got to the lecture theatre just before lectures were due to start. As soon as I walked in , I could feeltwo eyes burning through the side of my face as I headed to the back of the class, which is my favourite part of the class, because it was easy for me to avoid the attention of any lecturer. I was still trying to settle down when a guy walked up to me.

"hi"

I didn't answer at first, until I realised nah was still staring at me and I decided it wouldn't be a bad idea if I had a guy friend who could at leastscare Noah away from me.

"hello" I smiled at him, even though I wasn't really comfortable talking with him.

" Am ade"

" Am Lola" I replied him before he could ask me what my name was. we chatted for a while before he requested for my number and went back to where he sat, I turned back to rose flashing a smile at her, and she started making remarks about how guys would kill to be my boyfriend and how I was a guy magnet.


Noah's POV
I watched as the guy spoke with Lola,how she smiled and chatted with him for some time in a friendly manner.

'why is she been that nice to him' I thought aloud not caring if anyone heard me or thought I was going crazy. I had tried to get her to talk with me on whatsap, which she always ignored me and ended up blocking me.several times I had called her but she always ignored my calls.
I had tried to push her out of my mind,but any I saw her during lectures or in the street I always stare at her. Lola is gorgeous, if only she paid me as much attention I showed her.

still I was determined to get her to forgive me and maybe like me.

"lola"i said after summoning uobthe courage to go talk to her, even though it's a lot of risk, she could insult me in front of everyone. I still don't know how she became so outspoken,she used to be timid.

she didn't answer.

"hey, it's polite to acknowlegde someone when they say hi"

she looked at me from my head to toe, as if unsure whether to reply me or not. she moved away a little from me, before she turned "how come someone as rude as you know what been polite is?". I was about to reply her when I heard the voice of Mrs gbade our GNS 101 lecturer.
