The Acting Director-General, National Youth Service Corps, Mrs Christy Ifeyinwa Uba, has stressed that NYSC is a collective shared vision aimed at unifying and harnessing the prosperity and human resources of the country for national development, hence it is expected of Corps members and all other Nigerians to work towards this worthy cause.

The Acting Director-General, who was represented by the NYSC Ekiti State Coordinator, Mrs Mary Nenna Chikezie, stated this on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the swearing-in cermomy of the 2022 Batch 'C' Stream II Corps Members deployed to Ekiti State at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ise-Orun/Emure-Ekiti.

She stated that the Scheme's idea of deploying Corps members away from their state of origin is to instill in them the "culture of working together" with other Nigerians" with friendship, peace, harmony, and a shared vision of a great and prosperous Nigeria."

Speaking further, she affirmed the Scheme's commitment to Corps members socio-economic growth and welfare, urging them to maximise the gains of the Skills Acquisition Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme and judiciously exploit their service year "to realise [their] potentials and attain individuals feats."

She, however, cautioned the corps members against indiscipline and non-compliance with the provisions of the NYSC Act and Bye-Laws, advising them to familiarize with it as it will guide their conduct during the service year.

Mrs Christy Uba also dissuaded the Corps members from misusing the social media to spread fake news and misinformation.

She said: "You must continue to distance yourselves from cultism, drug abuse and other social vices. I also urge you to avoid using social media for spreading fake news, fueling hatred and other negative purposes, and instead deploy the same for the promotion of national unity and development. You are strongly advised to be security conscious at all times and report any suspicious characters or activities around you to the appropriate authorities."

Similarly, the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, His Excellency Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, who was represented by the Head of Service, Barrister Bamidele Agbede congratulated the Corps members on their" historic achievements". He urged them to feel safe and welcome, noting that Ekiti is "peaceful, hospitable enterprising" and abounds with opportunities. He espoused support for the NYSC and advised the Corps members to exhibit the ideals of the Scheme for the growth of the nation.

The event also attracted the presence of other dignitaries: the Chief Judge of Ekiti State represented by Justice O.A Olatawura, The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youths and Sports, The Director, Ministry of Youths and Sports, The Camp Director, Camp Commandant, The Resident Officer, Heads of Collaborating Agencies and other Camp Officials.

Other highlights of the event were electrifying presentations from the cultural troupe who thrilled the audience.

And I guess u av not served or even any of your relatives, NYSC has a Standard Skills Acquisition Training Programme in within the one year service where corps members are mandated to engaged in SAED as its fondly called and a certificate will also be issued alongside the Discharge Certificate after the service year...Do your findings before responding online

In a swift reaction to debunk claim of maltreating a corps member, the EKiti state NYSC has issued out a REJOINDER to counter claim that NYSC OFFICIAL BRUTALIZE A CORPER IN EKITI FOR NOT WEARING HER JACKET

Angel Eluna is unkown to NYSC Ekiti State. I wish our young Nigerians will be truthful and bold enough to narrate issues as they really are and put their real names on such narrations.
The real corps member involved in this matter is CONFIDENCE AZUBUIKE (EK/16B/2389).
Confidence was not molested by any official of NYSC Ekiti State. Rather it was the other way round. Confidence in her statement to the State Coordinator said she held the official’s shirt by his collar because she did not know he was an official. She quickly released him when the Local Government Inspector introduced himself. Investigation into the incident which required the call for the corps member’s file has revealed a whole lot about who Confidence is.
One wonders the source of Confidence’s confidence in being so unruly. You need to see what she wore for Community Development Service. Her cap was wrong, White T-Shirt was something else, her canvas was Pink, Khakhi Jacket tied round her waist. Above all, she refused to be corrected and would rather fight the NYSC official.
Let it be known that the reddish patch on her arm was caused by the long chain of her handbag strap. It was as she held the officer’s shirt that the bag strap pressed on her arm leaving the reddish spot because she is fair. This is the Account of an individual that witnessed the incident.
NYSC Ekiti is coordinated by a mother who will not allow any of her corps members to be maltreated by anybody. However, she will not tolerate any misbehaviour on the part of the corps members. She calls them “My sons and daughters”. She will not hesitate to call her erring daughter Confidence to order and that she will do in this matter.

Just as the first person had told u earlier on, try a faster network. You may also need to try different browsers (e.g. opera, explorer, chrome, firefox etc) on different computer system if the problem persist. Lastly, dnt forget to try at different time of d day, or even hold on for few days, as d problem you are facing might even b a temporary problem frm d site. Just my opinion though.
