The same problem facing other sectors in Nigeria have a huge effect on Nigeria education sector, hence, you find few people that only know little about IJMB these days.

Advantages IJMB Have Over JAMB And Other Programmes
1. The IJMB result does not expire, unlike your JAMB that is only for a year.

2. You can use it over and over again

3. You can still be doing it and apply for JAMB if you want to kill two birds with a stone

4. You will have higher PGD in your university as is going to be divided by 3years, not four years not four years like others who used JAMB.

Nigerian runs the most expensive government in the whole world.

If government want to be fair to all let them slash the salaries of all governors, state house members, National Assembly members, executive members and all other outrageous salaries and allowances enjoyed by these people. If there huge pay didn't push the country into inflation all these while, what will make the little increase in labour pay push the economy down?

Well if that's the case then it's pretty unfair compared to other public schools. Did the extra charges increase too? I assumed the lowest tuition in any Faculty would be about 23k plus all the other charges you mentioned amounting to almost 40k? Ok that's not fair.

I have a friend who is to pay more than 60k this session. The increment rate is too much.

I don't blame them, I blame the poster that posted what he's not sure of, he passed a false information and people are only reacting to it.

It baffles me how a reasonable person will believe a federal university charges 10,000 per session.

For those of you saying the school paid 10,000 initially. is it possible for a university in Nigeria to be charging that low?

The 10,000 the poster used for an example is just part of the charges for the section. you pay about four to five different fees which will amount to almost 30k for some facaulties and more than for some.

Now some people are to pay 60.000 from initial 30,000.

The hostels are now 50k.previously 28k.

The increment is not fair....

For the ones asking how the school has been surviving.. Do you know that unilorin have the highest number of applicants every year. They'll sell post ume form for more than 100,000 applicants when available space is less than 10,000 for new intake... They collect acceptance fee from some students and end up not clearing them and taking back the admission.

The poster passed out a wrong information.. 10,700 +5500+6000+3000 + other charges that'll amount to almost 30,000.

The fees are actually low compared with what's obtainable in some other federal universities.

However an outright 100% increment seems insensitive especially when stakeholders aren't carried along.

That's just it... some facaulties fees was increased to almost 60k...Even the hostel, from 28k to 50k .a hostel that's in bad condition

Don't give us that "Nigerians are poor crap". If you take an holiday job you would definitely be able to afford a part of it and then you can complement it with your parents give to you. Nobody should come here to complain about school fees not exceeding 30,000 naira.

It seems you don't know it would take the current annual school fees of 70 unilorin students to pay one professor's monthly salary. And 840 students annual school fees to pay one professors annual salary...

Inasmuch as we don't want govt to leave the poor behind, pls do not be ridiculous. Any school fee lesser than 30,000 is fair on the part of govt and the university.
