The skies lay low where You are On the earth You rest Your feet Yet the hands that cradle the stars Are the hands that bled for me In a moment of glorious surrender You were broken for all the world to see Lifted out of the ashes I am found in the aftermath Aftermath by Hillsong United |

RIP Officer. I only pray that your family don’t get to read the comments about yourso-called carelessness being made by all the “as seen on TV” bomb disposal experts on this forum. |
"Forget Harvard and a 4-Year Degree, You Can Make More as a Plumber in the Long Run" http://finance.yahoo.com/blogs/daily-ticker/forget-harvard-4-degree-more-plumber-long-run-20110318-063704-224.html |
Not Siasia's biggest fan but I'm with him on this one. Indiscipline has cost d eagles a lot in the past and this view that a Nigerian premiership star somehow does not need us is pretty flawed, Osaze could never have gotten a work permit needed to play for west brom in d prem league if he wasn't playing for the eagles, so he owes Nigeria some gratitude (so do all players like him); "Currently a non-EU player applying for the permit must have played for his country in at least 75 percent of its competitive 'A' team matches for which he was available for selection during the previous two years, and his country must have averaged at least 70th place in the official FIFA world rankings over the previous two years. If a player does not meet those criteria, the club wishing to sign him may appeal if they believe that he is a special talent and "able to contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in the UK." |
Hey Ladies, I feel your pain but even though double standards exist, I don't think you guys on here appreciate where your parents are coming from and their point of view. A guy gets a girl pregnant, he still goes about his business and his family might not even get to hear about it but the girl and her family are stuck with an unplanned pregnancy and 9 months down the line, a kid no one planned for. No sane parent wants their daughter to experience the struggles of being a single parent, so before you give them a hard time, consider the possibility that the grief they give you is borne out of love for you and a need to protect you from a life of struggle. |
Even though the vid's not new just thought I'd post it again cuz I don't feel 9ja folks r givin "Chidi" nuff luv. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSD0komRazo&feature=player_embedded#! |
for all those pointing to 9jeria's obvious problems as justification for what sugar said, imagine what d headlines would b in d uk if, donald trump told a contestant on t=d american version of the show, all u brits sound alike nowadays like a typical british yob! |
Think it depends on what you're looking for, cuz, the looks "will get u interested" and d personality "will keep u interested". So if it's just a short term thing, then looks will probably be very important but if its long term, definitely going with personality |
Wonderful news, So GEJ has built several power stations since taking office, kudos ![]() |
While I agree Taiwo's not performing but has anybody noticed that unlike the kind of support/cover Kaita gives odiah, nobody's supporting Taiwo, whaddy'all fink? |

@ poster I don't usually comment on stuff like this coz I'm not married so don't think I'm qualified to give any advice on the subject but I'm willing to make an exception this instance. I actually think your husbands feeling left out. You've been happily married for 10 years, so obviously you guys have been okay but your husband probably feels like you've now found something else which he's not invloved in at all. I see some1's already advised you to involve him in the chatting. I think that's excellent advice. Please TAKE IT. This way you're learning something together and he no longer feels threatened. |
To all the extremely daft people who've been questioning the man's motives and d fact that this only came to light when he was 82, if u read d article properly instead of doing the usual ITK, pull him down ,BS,, you'd know that d man didnt just start giving away money. Do some research b4 you shoot off your mouths. Read extracts articles below; From the article u supposedly read: "John Nugent, chairman of the Albert Gubay Charitable Foundation, said: “Albert is a very frugal man and has dedicated his life to good causes. " From other sources: http://www.gov.im/lib/news/education/mrgubays1mdonati.xml Mr Gubay’s £1m Donation - New Opportunities for Isle of Man Students "Students starting degrees at any of the world’s top ten universities can apply for a bursary. The bursaries are the result of the generous gift of one million pounds made by Mr Albert Gubay earlier this year for the advancement of sporting achievement and educational attainment by residents of the Isle of Man" http://www.gov.im/lib/news/education/mrgubays1mdonati.xml "In the 1980s, Gubay paid for a replacement church at the site of St Antony in Onchan, Isle of Man. The church was designed by Clayton/Massey, with local architect John Cryer responsible for the interior, and Gubay's suggestion of a window illustrating Christ walking on Douglas Bay by Chris Spittall as focal point.[14] In 1990, Gubay paid for an extension to Our Lady of the Nativity church in Leixlip, County Kildare, in memory of his mother, Mary Clarke, a native of the area. http://kildare.ie/Leixlip/places-of-interest/our-lady-nativity.asp |

Don't usually contribute on here but here's my own 2 pence; Has an economic or financial crime been committed? If so, then the EFCC's actions are a no brainer. ![]() As for Sanusi's action, having consulted for some Nigerian Banks and seen 1st hand, how they cook their books, I believe the extraordinary actions he's taken were necessary to address a rapidly deteriorating situation. While I'm almost sure both organisations have flouted some "due process', I also believed that the people affected by Bank collapses in all over the world would have appreciated if their Central Banks had taken some drastic actions to save some of the collapsed banks and if more of the people responsible were made to account for their actions. |
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/entertainment/7670788.stm I guess noboday explained to Colin Powell what Yahozee means. Better still Who thinks he'll get in trouble? Can't wait to see a video on Youtube, |
Good news, We're getting our money back. Yippeeeee. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/7484022.stm this line from the author has to be a classic; Nigerians are generally a pretty tolerant bunch. When hunger pushes people to steal, Nigerians show a sense of understanding. What do you think, do you think this greedy public officials can ever stop dipping their hands into the till or those greedy banks stop accepting stolen money? |
newsflash, lagos ranked as one of the worst places to live. SHOCK, HoRROR, ![]() http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/business/4306936.stm Whats even more interesting is that all the places ranked as worse than lagos are either just emerging from a conflict or currently being ruled by despots, so what does that say about our beloved city ![]() ![]() |
@ Pheesayor, Transalation Please, |
Cryptic topic?, don't get u m8t, |
the funniest thing about this is, d armed robbers will probably enjoy the song too, jus picture them celebrating a successful "operation" with Tuface's song playing in the background |
Are u one of those Yoruba Kids like me who thought Gongo Aso, was an Ibo song, Can't tell d difference between an Ewi n an Owe? Needed ur mum or gandmum to explain d Ibadan adages in the song, like how Ibadan men feel other people want to be like Ibadan men, (been sharing dat one wit all my m8ts) If the above applies to u, please lets say a big thank u to 9ice for helpin us to appreciate our language just a bit more, If it doesn't, please share some of that knowledge, lets have ur owe's n ewi's so we can spread some of the powerful Wisdom locked in our mothertongue, N same applies for my Ibo and Hausa brodas and sista's, spread the luv, this is the mothertongue appreciation thread, |

Hey, Won't claim to be an expert on the subject but since I luv sports I'm gonna throw my 2 pence in; @ poster: The topic is open to mis-interpretation as u cud be asking : * Who's looks or sounds d best or * Who's d most knowledgeable or * who's the most entertaining THIS IS FOR ALL MITCHEL OBI FANS: he fails on all 3 counts, the guy is awful, n the way he tries to put PEAK in all his sentences because he's sponsored by peak milk has to be the most painful experience on radio eva. PS: the only reason I listen to him is because of the BBC section of his show on radio and he's d only sport show I get to listen to on my way to work. |
kinda of an expert on dis, approaching the big 30 n neva been in a serious relationship (sad init?). Unlike most guys in my shoes, I've neva been a playa, jus neva got around to it n had a crazy phobia for relationships. Also sold myself the freedom line (I'm d guy who sings anoda 1 bites d dust wen I get weddin invites) all thru undergrad n post grad n living in different countries, but more n more I find myself longing for somethin warmer, safer n even tho till death do us apart still scares me shitless, it no longer feels like a death sentence. So I submit dat; deres absolutely nuttin spectacular about bein single, |
Hey, I used to think there were loads of ssmart 9ja foolks on this forum but based on the replies to this post, I'm beginning to question my initial take on things. How some of you guys cannot accept that the post was a joke and NOTHING ELSE is beyond me. I'm guessing its just like everyday Lagos, every body has a sanctimonious opinion on just about every subject even when they don't know whats going on. Please divert your energy to somethin that really matters and stop knocking d posted down coz some of us had a good laugh. Also if by posting this he helps some of you confront the issues you have with homophobia or homosexuality itself, well fantastic is what I'd say to that. and for you sanctimonious pr*cks who might find my views offensive, he who is without sin cast the 1st stone, stop being hypocrites, Have to get back to work now, so peace I'm out. |
