Politics / Sowore’s Gofundme #takeitback Campaign Reaches $28,000 by sowore2019: 5:57pm On May 02, 2018
The presidential aspiration of Omoyele Sowore, publisher of sahara reporters is gaining momentum as his #TakeItBack Nigeria campaign on Gofundme has reached a milestone figure of $28,035 as at today May 1, 2018, although still a long gap from two million dollars target, it’s a giant strides almost unheard of in the political history of Nigeria, the political activist said on Tuesday.
The 2019 presidential hopeful appreciated the efforts of his supporters so far and charged Nigerians to join the movement to take back their country.

“We are glad to report that with your support, our movement which was birthed just two months ago has made giant strides almost unheard of in the political history of Nigeria”.

“With your financial, intellectual and physical support, we’ve traversed Nigeria from the north to the south, meeting with Nigerians of all classes, age and creed through street engagements, town hall meetings, rallies and virtual engagements online and offline”.

“Ours is a truly Disruptive movement. At the last count, we’ve engaged Nigerians in Kano, Kaduna, Abuja, Owerri, Onitsha, Benin, Akure, Ikenne, Abeokuta, Ibadan, Lagos. We have addressed the media, engaged the high and mighty and reached a large percentage of disenchanted and disenfranchised Nigerians”.

“Outside Nigeria, we have met our compatriots in Philadelphia, Detroit, Maryland, Toronto, and Montreal. In the next few weeks, we will be in New York, London, Berlin, Johannesburg, Edinburgh, Madrid, Sydney and Accra”.

“Our next round of engagements in Nigeria will spread rapidly to Calabar, Uyo, Jos, Makurdi, Yola, Sokoto, Aba, Oyo, Lokoja and many cities, towns, and villages”.

“With less than 10 months to the Nigerian Presidential election, we have become the most vibrant and visible political movement in Nigeria today. We are tackling issues and raising the stakes”.

“Thank you for your tremendous support. With your help, we will permanently get rid of godfathers and godmothers that have turned Nigeria into their private ATMs”.

That joke that said Nigeria has enough money to pay 50k minimum wage and send half her citizen on vacation? He forgot he was talking to an Emir that was once the head of the federal government's bank grin grin grin
I love the advise the Emir gave him in the end, "be careful so you dont give them any reason to arrest you" grin grin
Nigerians are not ready for any ignorant cock and bull stories this time, defaulters will be stoned grin grin

If Nigeria does not have enough money to pay 50k minimum wage, why is the current administration proposing 56k and the labour unions suggesting 65k.

Blue3k:
Does the Nigeria collect enough in taxes to support the 100k minimum wage. The budget is already 70% recurrent expenditure. Now you want to raise it 5 fold with tax plan. Ok lets cut all the waste the budget still miniscule for country of 180 million people. Then the private business has to accomadate for this as well if they care to comply with rules.

If you dont have real tax plan to accomadate this new spending then its a joke. He said it will cost 1.3 billion dollars to raise it im guessing he will borrow to fund it. Im assuming thats jusy for federal government. He hasnt mentioned cutting down or merging parastatals (He wont its election time). His promises dont even end there.

His promises so far.

70% recurrent expenditure full of Annual purchase of Computer System for MDA's, remove that alone an see the recurrent drop to about 50%, remove Buhari annual medical trip and expenses and other wastages of the MDA's and see a further drop.
With the calibre of Sowore at the Presidency, ICT implementation will be fully utilized, don't tell me President Buhari and his cohorts who do not understand the meaning of an OS and can't even maintain a Website can do it.

He talks about how he struggle for the enthronement of democracy in 1999 and was offered a commissioner in Ondo state, an offer he declined.

Sowore is already a factor, I pity those that underrates him. It is not an understatement that within the few weeks he announced his ambition and commenced his various town hall meetings, which have so far covered Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Akure, Ikene, Owerri, Benin, Onitsha and his numerous visit to Radio and TV stations. Nigerians have embraced his ambition and the awareness is going viral and the political space disrupted.

It is possible to take Nigeria back from those that consider it their personal properties and have even line up their children to continue.

This article was also published on Sowore's Sahara Reporters http://saharareporters.com/2018/04/26/yele-sowore-latest-comedian-town-s-m-jimoh

Jimoh, the writer of the article and the rest that felt Sowore is only joking and not serious about his ambition have been brainwashed into believing that nobody can attain the Presidency with hobnobbing with the elites. They believe anyone that is serious had to go and bow before Obasanjo, IBB or align with Tinubu, Atiku and the rest. To them, if you are not in these circles you are going nowhere, for him not to have declared a political party, he's a comedian. One should not really blame them for having this kind of thought, it is welcome.
What they have however fail to know is that Sowore understand all these, that is why he has said at many occasion that he's not practicing the usual partisan politics but a revolutionary type.

Nigerians should learn how to turn their anger into legitimate actions and never give up on the country. Stories like this is enough to provoke citizens revolt.
This is why the #Takeitback movement led by Omoyele Sowore is awakening the consciousness of Nigerian on the importance of taking back the country from those that have held it down.

Hurricane Sowore is sweeping across!
Following the different interpretation given to Presidential aspirant Omoyele Sowore pushin a wheel barrow while on a town hall meeting in Owerri, in which he had explained what happen as an exchange of good gesture offered by the trader.

We met a man selling fruits, we stopped him to discuss, he agreed and got interested in the movement. He took our posters, and was distributing.
Sowore in exchange jokingly said he would help him sell his wares too.

He has shared the video of a similar situation which happened in 2015, where he offered to assist site workers in pushing their wheelbarrow.

Photo Of Sowore Pushing Wheelbarrow In Owerri: What Really Happened

That Dr. Damage who works with Sowore's Sahara Reporters could make such statement, is a pointer that Sowore created Sahara Reporters for the people and not for himself, it speaks volume of the character of personality of Sowore. This same manner he is championing the cause to Take Nigeria Back.

Silently, Hurricane Sowore is disrupting the political space, the 7th geo-political zone is becoming relevant.

Politics / Omoyele Sowore Pushing Wheelbarrow In Owerri: What Really Happened by sowore2019: 1:59pm On Apr 25, 2018
It has come to our attention of a particular photograph of Omoyele Sowore now making rounds on Social Media but with totally misconstrued understanding of what happened.

The picture was taken in Owerri but not with the intention to neither ridicule hardworking Nigerians nor appeal to emotion, as being circulated. We were on the street of Owerri. Sowore was walking on the streets talking to people. We met a man selling fruits, we stopped him to discuss, he agreed and got interested in the movement.

He took our posters, and was distributing.

Sowore in exchange jokingly said he would help him sell his wares too.

That moment was captured by our photo guy.

Sowore had no intention of making the picture public and has asked that it be pulled down but as it is, pulling it down from one page would not solve anything.

We are preaching a brand of politics different from what is being practiced by the career politicians and we would not be caught in their web of deceit.

Also note that we are not POLITICIANS. We are visionaries, tired of the status-quo and seeking to change it. We will make mistakes, no doubt, but we are not out to deceive anyone.

We are committed to ensuring good governance and leadership in Nigeria and that it what we bring to the table.

In addition, Sowore has always been a man of the downtrodden.

In 2015, Sowore joined some laborers in his hometown while they were working. He pushed wheelbarrows with them and brought laughter to their faces.

This was at a time Sowore was not running for any office. He merely did it out of LOVE and SOLIDARITY with his people.

That man has not changed. While we cannot promise that Sowore will desist from mingling with his people, we want Nigerians to know that he is not doing so for political gains.

We are taking back Nigeria from looters and cabal. We will do it, only with your support.

Signed:
Take Back Nigeria Movement

So in essence, you are not denying that Sowore published damaging article without verification or that he called her on her personal rather than official line right? So she didn't lie against him after all. In 2015, Sowore made plenty of money from the then opposition. He was even accused of blackmailing some politicians, asking them to pay up or have damaging articles written about them. I guess he wasn't dreaming of becoming the president then. What goes round, comes round bro.

It appears you don't understand what is happening, If I write a damaging article about someone on Nairaland, who should be held responsible? Seun or Me?
If Sowore refuse to publish an article on Sahara Reporters, the writer can as well created a Facebook page, publish the same article and even pay to boost same to reach more people. So what is the difference between Sahara Reporters, Nairaland and Facebook? Is it because Sowore decide to come to the public and stand by his platform?

thanks for bringing it to our attention.
any idea what tinubu and sowore have to say about buhari in the same vein?

The story was written by Bola Tinubu and sent to Sahara Reporters, It is there on the website. Sowore has no blame, credit was duely given to the author, which is Bola Tinubu. It is like blaming Seun for any damaging post on Nairaland.

What I could deduce is that notable media in Nigeria are scared of publishing the article because Jonathan was in charge, but the fearless Sowore took and publish it.
