Please I am trying to get a new Gen but confused as to which is more durable.

I use to think at Disel Generators are strong hence my decision to buy Sumec fireman SDG12000 Diseal set 8.4KVA but reviews of it I got from a generator mechanic isnt so cool. Electrical issues, not long lasting, experience from users indicates it develop issues in the first one year of use and with the frustrations, it is packed aside

In light of the above, I am changing my mind to go for the fireman rugged petrol generator RD8910E 6.6kva or so. Please guys advise could this be a better choice.

I just need something durable that is able to power a freezer, a fridge and 2 ACs with other normal house appliance like TV set and soundsystems and lightings

firman products are not as reliable as they used to be prof can suggest a good Japanese diesel gen for you as it is better than petrol generator

i only recommend tec on 1kva-1.5kva their 2.5 and 3.5kva makes noise fast and smoke fast too, and if at all u are to overhaul tec rings are changing to get, their 2.5kva 3.5kva rings are not same with others.

I'm planning on getting a tec big boy 4.0kva mostly because of my AC should I go ahead or is there any other brand you'll suggest.

Too many fakes.....any firman generator you are not buying from the main distributor in Ikeja can be anything.....and trust me original Firman Gen is really pricey.

the generator is not fake only that it might be fake branding elepaq. it's perform pretty well with power. even my neighbours fireman they bring in technician almost every day to repair. I haven't had one repair.


OK let assume it's fake. how come it charges my 30,000 power bank really fast which other other Generator like Honda, themecool, fireman take longer to charged?

there is no oil on the ground or shortage really fast.

but there are oil at the air filter and at the top of the curbrator area.

it was very high initially and zapping fuel with a loud noise until someone help me to low it. the noise is normal and consumption rate is normal. I use full tank for 12 -15 hours if I should calculate all the on time together. it last longer if I don't put on fridge.

have already ring it and i was told in the space of 4 months i should prepare to buy a new gen , depending on how i make use of it.

just don't overuse the generator it will last

Thermocool is an amazing product but the price range can be out of it. I called and asked their store yesterday for 1.2KVA generator and the lady said N70,200. Other reasonably good products don't exceed 50k. That 20k gap is way too much. 70k can buy 2.5kva for Firman or other products.

I'll choose tec over firman anyday a 2.0kva tec gen is as powerful as a 3.0kva firman gen or even more powerful

I called a technician, he changed the piston and ring but I still have the same problem. I've used 6litres of Oil in space of 1month.

U av to know the level of ur gen issh is kinda technical so it nt everybody that can help

Also concerning ur carburettor when u av a new gen and u av issue don't always let them take the follow come part away...... Normally even if it carburettor has issue it can be fixed and follow come is always follow come.... They always work better than new one

2. U shld find one good engineer or let people around u recommend for u..... Don't always give ur gen to diff. Engineer get a good one n be stable with it

3. Good u said u do service the gen urself n I hope u r using good oil..... If u r doing all these I don't think u shld be having issh

The only tym engineer Wil touch ma gen na if na engine problem others I fix it masef and I don't like diff. Hands touching it
