Thank you very much buddy. Guess what? I didn't allow the guy to take the follow come away. I just loosened the gen again this morning after I've read a lot about carburetors. I put back the follow come tht was condemned. Hmmm, my gen is working fine, stable, 220-224v (after I've loaded all appliances (1 bedside freezer, 3 ceiling fans, 7 fluorescent bulbs, 1 led TV, dvd, 2 laptops and phones of course). Light not flickering.

I will find it very hard to trust any gen engineer again o. Honestly. Imagine sticking to Technician A who collected 4k and never rigged the gen (which was why he collected money for), or Technician B who kept doing rubbish.

I once again thank everyone who has contributed on this thread..

I will update once the 1 liter is done (to know how long it last, it was lasting 2hrs 30mins before the rancor) . I might still need to modify the adjustment screws cos I already tamper with it a lot, used it as practical when it was condemned.

Lastly, see attached picture. Is the place I pointed at meant to be very hot in a short time after gen is powered on?

what about the dual inverter is it different from the regular inverter AC

...when u use meter..to start the compressor will draw like 1 to 2 unit from ur meter for starting..if it's to start 30 times for a full day operation imagine the amount of unit u might have lost..but for an inverter system..it soft starts..i.e it doesn't allow the motor to draw excess current from the main supply for starting and during the its operation the motor does not shut off instead reduces it speed and increasing it speed by varying frequency of the supply..u consume less unit using this process..

..u have said it all..the starting power. Most motors require a high current..higher than operating current to start hence making u spend on higher sources of power when they are mostly not needed..
Imagine a scenario where the operating power of ur AC is 500watt but requires about 2kw to start. U will end up buying a generator of more than 2kw of power just to start the Ac whereas after starting the Ac will just be consuming 500watt for its operation..waste of money..
2. Inverter Ac comes with a feedback system and can automatically adjust the speed of the compressor according to the temperature reached..the compressor does not need to shut off when the desired temperature has been reached and later draw high current to restart when the temperature drops.. the inverter system instead will lower the speed of the compressor when temperatures has been reached and increase the spe⁸ed when temperature drops...

I have another question.

all thanks to you I fully understand how the Inverter AC works with a generator but how does it works with NEPA they say if you use meter it is the best so you don't have to pay too much for NEPA bill and lastly is the LG dual inverter different from others? thanks

Pro Pls help me my sumec frman gets hot and off itself. Sometimes I must change the lubricant oil {amasco or total) before it starts, which was poured just a day before. Seems like the generator kills the lubricant oil easily. And the gen gets hot and the oil easily become like liquid.

I don't know what you mean by hot cos any generator that is working cannot be cool. when there is issue of oil drying up the culprit is mostly the rings and pistons and it happens mostly when we overwork our Gen (too much load) because your Gen can pump water does not mean it is strong enough if you do it over time it will break down and it is usually the rings and piston.

I really don't know why nobody responded to my post which makes me very sad and hurt. I almost sold the gen for 20k today.

However, I thank you all as well for this post. After reading almost 30 pages on this thread and some video online. I decided to go for a new carburetor, fixed myself, did some little servicing and I am glad to tell you my gen's operation is back to normal. Cool sound, 220/225 volt, and working steady. Currently testing with an accurately measured 2 litres to know how long it will last.

not everybody knows about Gen if you check you will see that prof and co haven't been online for sometime now there are things to deal with in real life so don't be sad

I bought my Sumec Firman SPG-1800 Feb 2018. I have been using it with no issue, no flickering, steady light and from my observation, 1 ltr lasts 2hrs 30mins. Hence using 3 litres last around 7 hrs which was okay.
I service myself by cleaning air filter, draining oil and fill with super v. I've had no course to change anything on it (not even the plug) since then, but I noticed I change oil very frequent. If i fill up with new oil today, i'll have to top up in the next 4-5 days as the oil would be very low. I use the gen for at least 6 hours a day.

Issue started few weeks ago when the voltage wasn't up to 220v anymore.

Technician A came to check, said it needs rigging (for the oil consumption), capacitor (for the under 220v), he collected N5000, oil consumption issue persisted, but voltage became stable (i saw him adjust the under-tank screw). the oil would just disappear and i won't see any trace on the floor.

Technician B came and said Technician A never rigged the gen.
Along the line, Technician B changed the carburetor, now my gen's work isn't smooth anymore. i get flickering light, irregular sound (alternating sound). I am currently thinking of selling it off as the problem is now becoming too much but before i do that, I want to seek help from all of you pros. I loved this gen so much as i enjoyed it's work before this issues started. i really don't think i can trust any of these technicians again.

Technician C came, adjusted the carburetor and under-tank screw, light was stable, I switched it on this night, issue came back (irregular sound, flickering light)

Note: i never called back technician A after i was told the gen was never rigged. someone told me Technician A has placed his hand on it (like jazz or something that until i call him back, any other person that work on it wont' be successful), to hell with him, i will never call him ever.

I INTEND TO DIY HENCEFORTH..
1. Can I get out of the box carburetor that I can install and won't need any adjustment?
2. Does adjusting the "under-tank screw" and "firing screw" do any help?
3. 3 litres I tested with tonight barely used 4hrs (7.30pm - 11.50pm)!!
4. Carburetor has been labelled to make the directions for you guru easier.

Please Help Me.....i am tired already.

most times oil drying up is as a result of bad rings and pistons but there are other signs too like smoking especially when you just start the gen and over time the oil issue gets worse maybe from lasting 4 days to lasting for a few hours , fuel lasts longer and it will not be able to power some of the appliances it used to power before I think that Gen used capacitor so something might be wrong with the carburator or maybe the flickering light problem can be solved from under the tank

Please what could make Thermocool Hustler 3500MS consume much oil? There isn't any sign of leakage. I change oil once in every 10L I burn as the oil seems to dry up. Most times the gen goes off, this happens when the oil is dried. No much load on the gen just the normal electric bulbs and fans.

the Gen goes off cos oil level is too low and when this happens your rings and piston might be guilty. does the Gen smoke at all especially when you put it on?

the standing 2HP and and the hanging 2HP AC do use the same power or the standing uses more power

I don't know if they will have standing unit on Inverter but if they don't, get the ordinary but insist on the one that came with R410 refrigerant as against R22 which is the old unit. Why? Because R410 Refrigerant is a new technology and the compressor doesn't consume light like the old unit and the cooling is more effective.

Just advising from a personal angle because if i am in the market now for an air-conditioner, it will be the R410 refrigerant type.

thanks for the insight I really appreciate. I have a question to ask: how is the inverter AC AC friendly on a generator? the only thing I have noticed is that it does not use that starting power, it still consumes more fuel.

Definitely, the standing unit will be more expensive even as it's 2HP but it will work better than the split. The standing unit comes with a bigger fan & blows cooling faster than the split and mostly used for a large space.

If you are not on Budget & you have a large space, go for the standing unit. You won't regret it

budget is not much of a problem I'll save towards it I'm moving to a bigger place soon so I'll just go for the standing AC I'll go for LG inverter the one I have works on low current. Thanks

If u follow what I said you can't experience vibration, or atleast very minimal. you have to adjust both the screw under the tank and the firing screw to get a balance operation. if you look at both screw they have connections.

2 things might be the culprit. Your unit might be low on GAS as a result of a Leaks or your unit(outdoor or indoor or both) blocked as a result of dirts which is not allowing it breath well which servicing might resolve.

Nothing to worry about because it's a minor development. Call on any reliable AC technician you know to have it checked and resolved.

good morning Mr Sacramento please is there any difference between a 2HP standing AC and the hanging one? the prices differ even amongst the same product. I'm thinking of getting a 2HP inverter LG AC I don't know if I should get the hanging or standing please your opinion is highly needed.

@IamAnderson just got my cauc delivered to me two days back with the ear not cropped, he is exactly 8weeks old now. Just wondering if the ear can still be cropped at that age.

Secondly, the dog just would not eat, I got him booster dry and canned food by the way. Is there any tips you can give to help with this?
PS: I always soak the dry booster puppy food in water before serving him.

why not mix the booster with the can food

I believe in Datasheet very well, manipulating the gen does not render the data sheet wrong.....the information shows you what you will get at normal working conditions without any of those adjustments. I don't understand your decision for something that is very clear for anyone to see.

I learnt this bitter lesson the hard way.
Some years ago I was in love with a particular car.
I was using a smaller car after my nysc and saving up towards buying my new car
as I had gotten my first car after getting a job.
One day I passed by a car dealership and saw the gray color of my dream car there.
I couldn’t resist.
I stopped and priced the car. It was Naija used but they claimed it was clean.
Car dealers gave me a good deal if i traded in my car for that one.
I was so desperate that the next day I rushed and made the transfer, traded in my
old car for the “new” one, signed the paperwork and drove off.
I didn’t own that car for up to 1 month before the automatic transmission broke down.

All attempts to fix that auto gearbox failed.
I had to send for another auto gearbox from Lagos (mind you, I live up north)
After a week, the replacement gearbox arrived and a week later my mechanics had put it but
unfortunately it didn’t work so I had to return it to Lagos and I requested a full manual set
ie. complete engine with its manual gearbox, pedals, clutch etc for a complete change to manual.

Getting everything from lagos plus the complete change to manual took over a month so me that
was supposed to have upgraded to a better car spent about 4 months climbing bike up an down while my car was
with mechanics.

Even after changing to manual, the car later gave me sensor problems, radiator, fan belt, shocks, in
fact, everything was just breaking down so i had to sell the car after 6 months.

Naija car dealers are generally wicked. A car that was accidented and salvaged, they will repair and sell as
clean tokunboh.

Damaged naija used they will lie and hide the faults.

I will never buy a naija used car again.

The kick starter i think u cant get it on new, just get the used one from a mechanic. The battery is 6-7k but fireman brand is higher.

I am not a gen prof but I don't think piston and rings have anything to do with burning appliances problem should be with capacitor.

yes. basically the caburator the firing power is reduced to the minimum, adjust the spring screw under the tank so as to balance it with the firing screw, tighten the fuel screwed, due to what I am using it for cos the load is not much at all.

I adjusted that screw on my cab and my generator started making up and down noise as if it's not getting enough fuel I guess this stuff is not for me I tried it before I got hard start start tried it again I got unbalanced sound I've restored to default and will use like that.

My Tec Junior for instance last at exactly what is stated in the Datasheet....

Yesterday for instance, I added two litres and only turned on 3 fans, and my laptop only.....It lasted for 4hrs55min

This tallies with the specification on the data sheet for Tec Junior.
8.5L Full Tank with Full Load runs for 10hrs 30min = per litre 2hrs13min
8.5L Full Tank with half Load runs for 18hrs54min = per litre 1hr14min

My experience, their specifications are exactly what it is.

I highlu doubt that a 2.2kva out Gen can give you 4hrs on 2litres, lai lai....I have a Summec of thesame power rating, if that was the case,
I wont bother buying a small TEC junior. Go to Jumia and look at the full capacity run time for 2.5KVA Generator of other brands, it is usually 9hrs.

Truth is....If you wont be needing to power high output equipment like Pumping machine, iron, microwave and the likes, if all you want is just to power
your lights and fans and TVs and Laptops.....my brother go for a small Gen with small tank and high fuel Efficiency.....

My Sumec 2.5KVA is still there but I will only put it on at extreme situations when Nepa does not give us light at all for several days and I have foodstuff in the refrigerator that need some icing and freezing....but daily use...my brother, get a small Gen.....

I don't believe in data sheet my 3kva Gen give me 6hrs from 4ltrs on low load if load is high it give me about 4hrs on 4 ltrs it depends on the fuel too though some gives lesser runtime but none has given me higher run time
