Seun, if one was not around or old enough to understand the level of corruption at that time, a simple research will provide the justification for the coup. The Shagari regime was so so reckless that if it was not overthrown it could have collapsed Nigeria.

I remember the jubilation across the country after the coup. Nigeria is not yet a democracy. Even President Jonathan himself admitted that the country has never conducted any free and fair elections since 1960. You're making an issue about coups but stolen elections are just as bad if not much worse. Forcing yourself on the people as their leader whether by bullets or by ballots should not be tolerable in this day and age.
Until ruling parties begin to lose elections with some regularity and government begins to transition from one party to another, Nigeria is still an autocracy not a democracy. Democracy is about the freedom to choose your own leaders and we don't have that yet in Nigeria.
PDP needs to lose this election for that to begin to happen.

Reading through these love stories cause butterflies stirs in my tummy. So here is mine.
Being the hardworking and independent person i have been, i usually do holiday jobs just to raise money for school fees as my parents are as rich as Dangote.
This time, i got a job as a waitress in a restaurant and doubles as a cashier too. Here comes in this tall, dark, and handsome bobo. I served in the ice cream section that day as the person in charge of that section did not come to work due to health reason (thank God sef ).
This bobo bought a few cups and was begging for 'jara' with all seriousness. It was kinda funny as it was unusual. I gave him the 'jara' he requested and we got talking and exchanged contacts.
He later called as promised and inquired what a gorgeous lady like me was doing there without being in school. I explained to him that i was in my year two in the university.
Like a joke, we became friends and called me often. He returned to his base cos he said he only came for a project.
The whole thing naturally grew into a relationship and we became inseparable. We met in Nov 2008 , by may 2009, we were engaged and by August 22nd 2009, we both walked down the aisle. We haved two kids(a boy and a girl).
He is a brother, my motivator , backbone, my bestie. He has really helped to grow my dreams, he is so soft and supports me in every way.
I will marry him over and again. I love you my sweetie.
