Jarus: Oga, it is wrong to assume because a house is in the village, it will be very cheap to do. Apart from land cost, every other thing will be the same price. In fact some things will be more expensive in the village due to transoport cost from the city.
If I remove the cost of land, what I spent to build my village house almost doubles what I spent to do the Lagos project.
There is no way 5m will complete a 3-bedroom except you want to use zinc roof and just not plaster.
By the way, it is hardly possible in Nigeria not to be duped by contractor, family or no family (except parents). my oga even parent nowadays don join in duping |

placeofallure: I am a Unilorite but I can't relate with most of what OP posted. I finished a long time ago though, precisely 2002, got admission in my mid teens. Then again I was on mini campus close to Adewole and Agbo-Oba not PS as we refer to the permanent Site. I finished from the English department, was there in the era of the sacked lecturers, the news of which shook the nation. The only eatery then was Lass in front of the school library, and of course OPC, an Amala joint behind the university press. There are some other smaller food points in the June 12 mall. I remember watching Octo - rush a stage performance of the theatre arts students in the African Hall, very electrifying performance. I remember my great lecturers - Dr Oyin Jolayemi, Dr Adegbuja, Dr Dunmade, Dr Olu Obafemi, Dr Alabi, a very nice mother, Dr Oloruntoba Ooju, Dr Ajadi, the great Ajadilopia! Dr Medubi, Dr Bodunde, Dr Wunmi Raji brilliant but troublesome, and the very amiable and down to earth Prof. Sam A. Adewoye, He was my father. Oh! I remember everything now with nostalgia.
I can only relate to the queue at the park, my tag once read number 700. I didn't wait for my turn though, I meandered my way through the crowd. I hope things have improved since the time we left. I remember the hostels though I never stayed on campus. Blocks B1 and B2 for the girls about town and Block C for mostly mummy's girls. Block H and F for boys. H block is for dirty boys and F is very neat. I can go on and on. I miss that school.
Probitas Doctrina! Things are not the same as before |

Blaqsmith: I've only written one law exam since I started studying Law. One thing I only notice about Law exams is that even if you have all the principles of laws, cases and applications on your head very well, two things always seem to pose a problem for every Law students; 1. Interpretation 2. Time.
I once did a test on Legal Method where I spent 2hours on a question and it wasn't even enough. You can imagine.
it's really a pleasure meeting you senior. How dat side? senior ....you are right bro time and interpretation of a question is always the problem but u should always bear in mind the IRAC is necessary and applicable to all problem questions that was why I was shocked when I saw 2hours for a 4unit course in uniben.....wish u all the best in ur studies take care bro. |
