Please I just got an admission offer for an Msc in chemistry at Univeristy of Bonn. I'm sure it is a tuition free university.
I just want to know how much I must have in my account before I'm granted a Visa to germany. I am to resume in October.

So, I was broke last month, and decided to check out loan companies in Nigeria online, I came across Kashkash and decided to give it a shot. I verified my ATM card in which I was charged 50 naira for it. I couldn't complete the loan application because I decided not to. All this happened on 21st July

I was paid my salary from my place of work On 29th July through my bank account. I had even forgotten about KashKash...
To my greatest surprise, all the money in my account went missing with no alert. I was furious, I went to the bank and ranted, upon checking my transactions, it was seen that the money was debitted by the Same channel in which the earlier 50Naira was debitted.

I have tried to called the KashKash customer care but they don't respond to calls.
I sent emails but I received no reply. I sent messages to their social media but to no avail....

Please does anyone know anyone that works there and could be of help in recovering my money?
The month is still young and I am stranded now already, I've got no foodstuffs at home.

I will appreciate if you have someone or know anything I can do to get my money back from KashKash. I have the evidences of the debit from my bank statements.

You can read up the elephant toothpaste experiment. It's the preparation of oxygen by the decomposition of H202 or KClO3 using a suitable catalyst. You'd use liquid soap to trap the oxygen and add food colors to it..it gives a massive explosion with color... depending on the concentration

The best I can tell you is to go for the MLS and still hold unto you programming.
After my degree in chemistry, I went into programming. I am still learning on udemy. I recently took a very hard decision for myself, it is a decision to follow my passion. I'm going back to school for a degree in medicine. I am seeing an opportunity there for me as a programmer.
You can learn programming while in school. I assure you that before you graduate, if you've got the zeal, you will be a programmer and an ML scientist!

Let say you get a 280+ in jamblike this time and you also get Into the university with the MBBs

Would you enjoy days and night for reading and doing all those all that stuff medicine students do and leave the life ....cause unless your a crazy genius I swear those guys don't have time for themselves.
Except once in a while
Then let's say you go private cause Medicine stuff in Federal university is like 10years plus strike
And then when your done start looking for how to leave the country cause Nigera is almost a dead end
unless you start lecturing which also became a dead end of sort.

Bro it you alone that knows the pros of studdying medicine and if it outweighs all the above.
I swear chase your happiness cause in reality no one gives a f.
your the only that can look after yourself I can tell you about my friend that left pharmacy In third year to study medicine and he grown like late 20s and he seemes happier or my friend that left MBBs in 3rd year to study chemistry

Trust me should I say" I know that feeling ",however I'll say you start with getting a jamb form since deadline is fast approaching. You need to double your preparation since you're also working as well. Permit me to correct you,masters degr will be of added advantage to you, so is the work you're doing now since you're getting experience so technically both will be of help to you in the long run.
I was to write jamb this year tho I don't have money but I'm keeping my hopes alive. All the best sir

I did same course. While serving, I wrote WAEC and Jamb again for another degree where I now find fulfilment. I will be graduating in a few months' time. Please pursue your passion... All the noise the decision would elicit won't matter in 20years time. Not doing it, however, will make you forever not fulfilled.

Dear Nairaland,
I am in a state of dilemma now. Choosing between going for masters and pursuing my passion of studying medicine is quite difficult for me.

I studied chemistry Education, graduated well, served and I'm now teaching. I am barely two years into the profession and I am already tired of it. I feel I deserve a career not just a work. A career in medicine for me is something that I belive will make me happy. it's something I can do even if I'm not paid for....I'm 25 years and I feel I have no time again.

I hope to go pick up a JAMB form this week to pursue my passion and happiness. I will not want to make any mistake here. So I believe hearing from people who have been in this shoe will guide me.

Have you been in this situation?

Please share your story, age at which this decision was taken and how it has impacted your life.

No, you can't be given DE admission.

There is no correlation between chem edu and medicine irrespective of the courses you took together in 100l.

I studied Chemistry Education and graduated with 4.44/5 CGPA. I will like to go back and study medicine in the University I graduated from. Do you think I can be given DE admission to Medicine considering my background and result?
Note that in our 100Level we did the same courses with medicine students because they were under natural science at then.

Firstly bro, when it comes to getting medicine, age is a negligible factor. Don't incorporate age into your plans.

Having a first degree in Chemistry isn't bad, to make it better you completed it happily. There's no remorse whatsoever.

Since you are still on the path to medical school, taking jamb is fine. But with the type of huge competition faced among medicine aspirants, do you think you can spank 300+ (at least) if you start preparing now since the exam is in about one month's time?

Truth be told, I doubt it. Why? Since you've had your first degree in chemistry, you've narrowed your academic paradigm to mainly chemistry. Even if you scale through biology, what about physics and use of English. The first degree will give you leverage later in your year one.

Without being trying to discourage you, the best thing to do if you must get medicine is to dust your four o levels and Jack thoroughly, to be foundationally reinforced. That should take about 4 straight months of intense reading.

However, you may take the jamb on a 50-50 base to know where you are lagging behind, and to try your luck.

What about your o levels? Do you have distinctions? If No, stay away from schools doing Screening instead of post utme.

Another thing worthy of mention is the financial aspect. I don't know how loaded you are, but if averagely, I will advise you to hustle and get some kobos before running MBBS admission.

Thanks a lot! I still have a firm grip of my Biology and Physics because I have had to teach Physics for like a year + for ss1, ss2 and ss3. I might just need to brush things up. However, I hope to get in through DE so I would just spend 5 years by God's grace without going through the rigours of 100Level gain

I had to quit govt job due to it reducing my IQ and making me lazy....No regrets bruv. I don't give a fu*k about anybody's opinion..this is my future, and I alone will regret if I don't pursue my dream.

Don't think you can make a life out of that peanut you're being paid....it will only hinder you from pursuing your dream.

Fulfillment is relative, poverty isn't.
In our country, being fulfilled and following your passion doesn't necessarily translate to wealth, infact in most cases, it doesn't. Weigh your options properly and choose wisely because in the end your children will ask serious questions if you are fulfilled but cannot pay their school fees.

For what it's worth, you are still young and I'd say go for your passion but in the end it's not about me!

Greetings. Please go for medicine if that's what you really want. And kindly forget about the age factor. Because I too(at 36) studied Chemical engineering for my first degree before , going for medicine. So its all about the passion

I know there are lots of threads on this.
I've gone through some and I find them very helpful. I still need some advice from you. It will go a long way in guiding me through my career choice.

I studied Chemistry Education (BSc.Ed) and graduated with a CGPA of 4.44/5 from a federal University in the middle belt. I initially applied to study medicine but I was given Chem Edu. which I patiently did. I have served and I presently teach in a school. I have an option of going for an Msc.

The issue is that I don't feel fufilled teaching especially that I have to be teaching the same thing over and over again. I am tired of the job. I don't think I will be able to spend the rest of my life teaching.

I still have this passion for medicine. Now, I am thinking of going to medical school. I believe I have all it takes. I feel I will be fulfilled as a medical doctor, I also feel my degree in chemistry will be an addition to me. I am 25 years now.

Do you advice me to go back to medical school?

Also, can I be given a DE admission to medicine and surgery with my 4.44/5 degree in chem edu? We offered nearly same natural science courses with medical students in our 100L.

I have less than a week to make this decision because JAMB registration (UTME and DE) is closing soon.
