Psady:Once you meet all other criteria for the photograph, you will need to change to dpi of the image to 600. Google search change dpi of image online. There are many online platforms to do that. Just change the dpi to 600 and download it. You should be fine with that one |
Two weeks ago, I attempted to renew my international passport using the Nigeria Immigration Service's DIY (self-service) platform. Unfortunately, the system couldn't capture my passport photograph for some reason. A few days later, I decided to visit the immigration office in Jos to complete the process in person. To my surprise, I was told that the 32-page, 5-year passport would cost ₦75,000, even though I was aware that the official fee online is ₦50,000. Frustrated, I returned home. Fortunately, I later managed to successfully upload my passport photograph on the DIY platform, and the system processed my application. I paid ₦50,500 online and was scheduled for biometric capture on February 3rd. On the scheduled date, I went to the immigration office, where I was attended to promptly. However, I was asked to pay an additional ₦3,000 for processing, which I did. To my surprise, I received a call today, February 12th, to pick up my new passport—just 9 days after my capture! I've heard many people say it took them months to get their renewed passports. So, I'm curious—how long did it take for you to get yours? Share your experience!

Hello Nairalanders, I’m in a bit of a dilemma and need your advice. My wedding is coming up soon, and I’ve already done the introduction and paid all traditional rites in full. Recently, I got admitted into a PhD program in the U.S. with full funding and stipends to begin fall this year, and I plan to move there with my wife or for her to join me after I settle in the U.S. Now here’s the issue: I’m considering doing only a registry wedding, which would cost just a few thousands of Naira. But if I go ahead with a full church/white wedding, it would cost millions. To be honest, I’d rather channel all the funds into our visa applications and relocation to the U.S. since this will be a huge step for both of us. I understand the significance of a church wedding, but I feel it’s more practical to focus on our future together in the U.S. So, my questions are: 1. How can I make my family and her family understand my decision to opt for only the registry wedding? 2. How can I convince my fiancée to agree with this, as I’m sure she has her own expectations for the wedding? 3. Is there a way to balance both the financial aspects of the wedding and the future investment in our move? I’m really looking forward to your thoughts and advice. Thanks in advance! |
My mechanic did some engine repair. He changed valves, bearing, rings and top gasket. He disconnected a cable from the thermostat so my fan runs immediately I start the engine, and stops about 3 mins after I stop my engine. He told me that this is essential for the valves to settle. And as well to avoid overheating. He said after 3days drive, I should come so he connects it back. I’m not comfortable with this. I do not even understand why it has to be so. I’m thinking the engine, temperature and cooling system cannot work optimally with this. I want to connect back the wire (he showed me). But I need advice from an experienced person. Pls help assist with an advise sirs.

Plateau State to hold a combine Sunday service tomorrow on protest ground in a quest to end bad governance. Muslims in Plateau State are expected to join the service as well. The protest in Plateau State has been the most peaceful so far with Christians and Muslims all putting their voice to end bad governance in Nigeria.

Why is the president finding it difficult to address Nigeria amidst this protest? |
Christian protesters protect Muslim protesters in Jos as they pray.

I am just concerned as to why these fintechs keeps restricting peoples account for trading crypto. Did the government actually ban Nigerians from trading crypto on P2P in 2024? Aside threatening these exchanges, I have not seen any memo where the CBN or FG Banned Nigerians from trading crypto via p2p. if you have any document please share. |
My Opay account was restricted today too. My fund has been locked in it. I called Opay and they told me my account is under investigation by CBN for trading crypto. |
Hi guys, So I woke up this morning and found that my opay account has been restricted. I called the customer care and they told me that my account is under investigation by CBN for trading on a crypto platform. Truly, few days ago, I traded about 100 usdt via p2p on one of the exchanges but there was nothing that suggests that it was crypto. I ensured that there was nothing about crypto associated to this trades. Have you been in this situation before? Do you know someone? What was the outcome of it? |

Good day NL. A friend of mine borrowed my car few days ago to help ease movement for him. I happily gave him the car because I understood the need he had. For precautionary reasons, I don't let my fuel get below quarter tank. Each time it gets there, i ensure I top it up. When I gave this guy my key, I told him clearly to ensure he adds enough fuel as he's leaving my place and not to allow the fuel guage gets below quarter. My car spent some days with him. he brought back the car and complained that my car has stopped on the way several times and each time it stops, he'd have to buy a little fuel and add before it moves. Second, he brought back the car with scratches on my front bumper. I learned from someone that he had moved on terrible roads with the car. I was told he went to places that other people had parked because their vehicles can't enter. I asked how much fuel he bought and he told me he bought a few litres of fuel. This got me furious because this is a journey that if I am to go, I'd have to buy over 40L of fuel. Third, he brought it back with a faulty fuel gauge, my fuel gauge has never been faulty since I bought my car. It was not possible for me to know the fuel level at the time he returned the car. I had to go fix my car because I had a need to go somewhere with it. My mechanic opened to tank to check why the car was stopping as well as the fuel gauge. To my surprise, my tank was terribly empty. It was dry. I had to buy so much fuel as well as fix the fuse of the fuel gauge. As for the scratches, I will have to leave them like that. The funny thing is that my friend cannot even tell me he is sorry. I have resolved in my mind, I WILL NEVER GIVE ANYBODY MY CAR AGAIN. NO. ITS ONLY ME THAT CAN TAKE CARE OF MY CAR. I AM THE ONE MAINTAINING IT AND I KNOW EHERE IT PAINS. what do you think about this? Do you give out your car to your friends to use especially in this hard economy where fuel, maintenance and cost of parts are on the high side. |

Revolution2022:It's not a teller. It's a graduate trainee Job |
Hi guys, I've been invited to the third stage of sterling bank recruitment. This stage is called assesment center and the mail I received reads that the Assessment Centre will test skills such as creativity, critical thinking, analytical skills and digitally savvy skills... Honestly, I do not know what to expect. Any idea? |
Musty4ahmed1:Be sure you don't rely only on camera specifications. Check things like battery, RAM and processor as well. |
So I was shortlisted together with others for stream 1 and we did biometrics together. Last year when others were deployed, I wasn't deployed. I complained but nothing happened. Just two days ago, I called again and complained. My dashboard immediately changed from 'you are not a beneficiary ' to successful with a provision to verify BVN. I inputed my account number and bvn and verified successfully. It's verified and validated now. It reads that I should proceed to physical verification. I did. I am now awaiting posting. I am only concerned that its now reading stream 2 rather than stream 1. I am N-teach Any one having similar issue? Thanks |
Xilsbridalhouse:I had a deep thought on this. However, I think advert alone will not have brought nairaland to where it is today... Just me thinking though |
I'm curious, I've read that Seun is one of the most successful entrepreneurs in Nigeria. I've read so much about him and about nairaland. This and the success of platforms like Facebook, Twitter, etc. got me thinking. I want to know what actually brings money to nairaland, Facebook, twitter etc. I'd appreciate greatly if Seun replies this himself. Knowledge of this will help me in building my idea. Thanks. |
