Lagos State University (LASU) has been making headlines after videos of musicians Bella Shmurda and Odumodu Blvck leaving Poco Lee’s Homecoming event on campus went viral.

In one of the videos, Shmurda was seen looking down as he was led away into a waiting black jeep. According to several online claims, he had been slapped on the face.

Another viral clip showed fast-rising singer, Odumodu Blvck, appearing to run out of the campus. It was claimed by some netizens that he was accosted by cultists and he took to his heels.

The videos sparked a series of mixed reactions on social media. While some netizens were amused by the situation, others greatly condemned cultism and noted that what took place did not make sense.

The incident has raised concerns about the safety of students and musicians on LASU campus. It is also a reminder of the ongoing problem of cultism in Nigerian universities.

In a tragic incident, militants associated with Islamic State carried out an attack on a private secondary school in Mpondwe town, Uganda, resulting in the loss of at least 37 students' lives.

Reports indicate that the terrorists also abducted six individuals.

The victims included students, a guard, and two members of the local community, who were fatally attacked outside the school. The assailants employed various means, such as setting fire to a dormitory and resorting to gunfire and machete violence, causing the students' untimely deaths.

The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN had earlier announced that President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday (today) unveil the e-Naira.

KINGSPARO.COM recalls that the CBN had on September 30th suspended the launch of its digital currency, called e-Naira. The suspension of the launch was announced by CBN spokesman Osita Nwanisobi while speaking to newsmen in Abuja.

According to the CBN spokesperson, the rollout was suspended to allow other events slated for the country’s 61st independence anniversary to take place.

But in a statement on Saturday, Osita Nwanisobi stated that the e-Naira is now expected to be activated on Monday by the president. The CBN Director stated that the launching would take place at the States House, Abuja.

Coming to fulfillment, President Buhari has on Monday, declared the official use of the new era electronic version of the nation’s local paper currency.

Present at the unveiling were the Vice-President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele, Naija News understands.

The E-Naira will hold equal value with the paper currency and will be issued by the CBN.

Nigerian authorities say the currency is not intended to replace cash but will function as a safe and efficient alternative means of payment.

The eNaira will be a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), issued by the government, and it will have the same value as the paper, or fiat, currency.

It is understood that CBDCs is far different from cryptocurrencies in being regulated and therefore subject to banking laws. They are issued by a central authority and are therefore trusted by traders. The CBN issued its regulatory guidelines for the eNaira on 1 October.
