IGBOS WERE A TOTALLY UNKNOWN ENTITY IN THIS MODERN CIVILIZATION.

Many igbos in today's Nigeria will tell you gleefully that "we have invested more in Nigeria than any other tribes/ethnic groups".
By that statement they are telling you that the Igbo man as a trader is the only person [ except perhaps his arch rival, the Fulani ] you are sure to meet in every hamlet, village, town, city and state in Nigeria.
They tell you that " we are everywhere contributing to the various local communities"
They will tell you that "we developed Lagos, Abuja and every parts of Nigeria"
They will.tell you that " we own all the buildings in Lagos and Abuja "
These statements are very common and from then the average Igbo Zionist harbours in his heart an entitlement mentality by which he makes demands of you on your space. They same demands you won't even dare to ask from him on his own space.
You hear this statement from virtually every Igbo man you meet, practically ALL of them, even the most reserved, most rational and most sensible amongst them.
They say these things freely and openly.
Peter Obi has said these things SEVERAL TIMES on National TV.
Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu said it recently before the world in Awka, Anambra State.
But it is a folly of a statement intended to hoodwink the gullible who aren't vast in history.
I will tell you some things today. Please feel free to draw me back where and when you think I got it wrong.
1. There is no part of our PRE-1914 HISTORY that is known to me which suggests in any way that the Igbos were the kinds of "Nomadic" traders they are today.

Until the European Colonial People came at the tail end of the 19th century, the IGBOS WERE A TOTALLY UNKNOWN ENTITY IN THIS MODERN CIVILIZATION. It was the appearance of the Missionaries, who came ahead of the Colonialist, which exposed the Igbos of today's South-East to the modern world and they began travelling as Missionaries outside their FOREST DWELLINGS.
Until 1914, the igbos weren't any factor of reckoning in Nigeria and infact it was ONLY THE OBONG OF CALABAR AND NOBODY ELSE who was consulted in the whole of that axis to join others in the civilized world concerning the matter of 1914 amalgamation of North and South Nigeria.

Whereas,
CENTURIES before 1914, Yoruba Traders of Iwo, Ogbomoso, Àjàsé, Egba, Ijebu etc were noted in history to have been great travellers who transacted trade deals with Hausas and Kanuri of Northern Nigeria and with the people from as far away as Timbuktu in today's Mali.
CENTURIES before 1914, Hausa and Kanuri Traders were actively dealing with the Arabs of the Middle East Asia.
CENTURIES before 1914, Yoruba Traders of Egba, Àjàsé , Ijebu, Awori lands were already in trading deals with the Europeans even before
Slavery got into the mix.

CENTURIES before 1914, the Itsekiris, Binis, Efik, Ibibios, Ijaws of Opobo [ which the Igbo now lay claim over ] were already trading with Europe and amongst other ethnic groups of today's Nigeria.

CENTURIES before 1914, the Yorubas of today's SW, Binis of today's Edo, Itshekiris of today's Delta, Efik of today's Cross River and several other ethnic groups in the South and North of today's Nigeria had FLOURISHING CIVILIZATION complete with a SOCIAL ORDER REGULATED BY MONARCHIES.

The Igbos of today's South-East [ Not the Aniomas ] were never part of that civilization but roaming wildly in the FOREST DWELLINGS.
The igbos were never mentioned in any of those history known to me that I have read.
The igbos were NEVER going about in trade missions to anywhere outside of their various hamlets where they counted their years by market days.

Those guys were just barbarians roaming about the forests with wrappers and their animal instincts.
They were NEVER the people they pretend to be today.

2. The igbos may have been trading amongst themselves in their South-East areas but they were never known to be dealing OUTSIDE of their immediate areas until much later after 1914.

3. The first set of igbos who explored other lands outside Igbo land weren't traders but mostly missionaries and civil servants

4. The phenomenon of TRADING by the igbos in SW YORUBA LAND didn't fully start until after the civil war in the 1970s.
Before 1970, majority of Igbos in Yoruba land were civil servants, office people and not many were traders.

5. The activity of TRADING AND APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME of the IGBOS is an excuse, a well oiled "UNDERGROUND RAILROAD" for the migration of their population from their landlocked areas to places like the South-West.

Trading was the "CONDUIT PIPE'" for the mass movement of their disorderly population of badly trained Youths into Yoruba land and other parts of Nigeria.
Between 1940 and Independence in 1960, the igbos had used the underground railroad of TRADING to circulate their population in Northern Nigeria. They had had great faith in the lousy statement of Azikiwe that "Nigeria was the inheritance of the igbos" so they were positioning all over the country.
At that time the SW wasn't too easy as the wave of political awareness and solidarity amongst the Yorubas was tight .
The IGBO ZIONISTS didn't start to look at the Western Region of Yorubas until after the civil when the Northeners and the Ikwerre people of today's Rivers State had dealt them blows.
They located SW and narrowed on Lagos.
It wasn't until the 1980s through the help of Obasanjo did they find their footing in Lagos
They had the ZIONIST FUNDS [ obtained most from DRUG related crimes ] to support their them as SEED CAPITAL for whatever businesses they chose and there was no way anyone could have competed with them.
With their ZIONIST FUNDS they established HUGE "MARKETS" all over the place big enough to accommodate the continuous migration of their population to achieve DEMOGRAPHIC ALTERATIONS in the lands they occupy.
6. Before the War, Igbo youths weren't coming to Lagos because they operated from the Portharcourt Ports and did most of their businesses in the East.
They completely overwhelmed the people of today's Rivers and Beyelsa state in those days and it's infact the reason of the merciless action of "abandoned property" saga in Portharcourt.
The indigenous people of Portharcourt rose and SEIZED all Igbo Properties on their land during and after the war.
Such thing didn't happen in Lagos or anywhere in the SW during and father the war. YORUBAS never did such but KEPT their properties for them even with rents accrued over three years
It is the reason that till this day the average Igbo trader feel more comfortable in the SW, 600miles from his land, than the Portharcourt which is less than 40miles to Aba.
That hospitality borne out of ignorance of the typical Igbo man is the crime of Yorubas for which we have today been robbed of sound sleep.
7. You claim you developed Lagos even when Lagos didn't invite you to develop her. Whereas, in actual sense and in reality you guys RUINED LAGOS.
Between 1983 and 1999 the MILITARY AND IGBO ZIONISTS RUINED AND STAGNATED LAGOS.
Unless you suffer memory loss or you are stupid you should be able to remember exactly what Lagos was reduced to as at 1999.
The ZIONISTS messed up our environment, overstretched our infrastructure, soiled our morality and totally brutalized our social order
But they can't know unless you told them.
These things are already happening in Abeokuta today and I will write about it in my next post.
