It's called - Driving Theory Test 4 in 1 Kit by Driving Test Success Limited. You will pay 4.99 to buy it fully
Xanderlex:
I'm seeing multiple apps with same name in playstore. How do I know the right one?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 11:34pm On May 18, 2022
Thanks for the insight

Just to confirm are you able to drive unaccompanied with your provisional license?
DeeOneBangin:

I have booked for the practical test (manual) already sef, God help me on that day oooo cos their driving for here different from naija ooo. Thanks, but do you have link to proper guide on Youtube or any resources to support the lessons from my instructor

erico2k2:
Ok all you need is for you to pay for at least 6 lessons for an instructor to teach you how to pass
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 8:56pm On May 18, 2022
Yes being driving from Nigeria --Manual cars and buses to be precise but never driven a car in the UK

erico2k2:
Great. Naturally do you know how to drive?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 8:54pm On May 18, 2022
Passed my theory test today on the first attempt. Practised with this Theory 4 in 1 app below, someone recommended it on this forum sometime back.

I used the Free Pass Guarantee option and practised the 763 theory questions and 85 hazard test videos all in 3 weeks. I highly recommend the app to anyone preparing to take their theory test.

Meanwhile, I appreciate any guide to studying for the practical driving test

Please how were you able to see this?
DeeOneBangin:
Everybody knows HMRC will collect every dime owed to the last penny, nobody is disputing that. But the fact remains that I didn’t get taxed till about 5-6 months (only NI deduction was reflected on payslip, income tax was always 0.00) and I know a couple of newly arrived that this has happened to. How that happened, I don’t know.

And instead of someone just completely knocking off erico2k2 which I feel he is correct because it kinda applied to me.

And las las I got a letter saying i owed £138

I'm surprised though, could it be because it's a return leg that was cancelled. No amount was specified in the email
See the message sent in the email

How to use your voucher
Once you are ready to redeem your voucher, simply call us to book a new flight or holiday, at which time we will also confirm the remaining value on your voucher
.

TheGuyFromHR:
The voucher should indicate the amount of the money you have available on it.
I have a BA evoucher for a cancelled flight and it clearly states the amount paid which I can use for a fresh booking.
Check the email they sent you again.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 6:47am On May 11, 2022
TheGuyFromHR:
If you've already bought the ticket, and you want to change the date of one leg of the trip, you can do that from the website, it should give you options as to how much the change will cost.

If you want to omit that leg altogether, your only option is to cancel the whole trip, collect a voucher and buy another ticket omitting the part you don't want.
Thanks, I have requested the voucher, but they didn't attach any value. How can I know the value?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 12:27am On May 11, 2022
If I cancel one leg of a ticket on BA, like how much will they refund as vouchers?

Or is there any way I can leave the ticket open and pick a new date later without any penalty charges for missing the flight?

Anyone with such experience should please assist. Thank you

No, I don't think so, you can do more than the minimum contract hours with your trust

RAD01:
Hello House,
If NHS Tier 2 Staff does 9hours bank shift with the same sponsored employer and did 20hours with agency within the same week, has he violated 20hours rule?

How about the energy efficiency that a new build gives with most new builds on EPC of A-B. Can one upgrade all these old builds to these EPC levels?

Ticha:
I hate new builds but that's me. There are pros and cons to both. My biggest issue with new builds is that they carry a price premium, usually smaller rooms and plots and the area is stark ie no trees, plants etc as they would have been chopped down to clear the site.

If you have school aged children, you can't go wrong by buying in good school areas regardless of new or old. Sometimes in a hot market like the current one, choice also gets taken away from you.

TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 11:12pm On May 04, 2022
So houses without water meters enjoy unlimited usage of water at a fixed rate every month?

Lexusgs430:
It depends on the size of the hot water reservoir..........

What to do, turn shower on, wet body, turn off, wash body without shower on (or turn on small), when body fully washed....... Rinse body off .......... grin.

This sequence, should not exceed 2 minutes, or you love to sing in the shower, whilst shower is running........ grin

I wish I had this type of your shower, my family are simply ignorant of the fact we are on a water meter.......... grin

When I try to get a quote, they do ask for a vehicle registration number which I don't have at the moment, how do I fill in these details to get an idea of the monthly insurance before buying the car

TheGuyFromHR:
Depends on your circumstances such as the type of driver's licence you've got (full UK as opposed to international DL, etc.). When you want to buy a car, you apply on the insurer's website giving all the details requested and the almighty algorithm will give you a quote.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 12:29pm On Apr 30, 2022
For how much is the insurance fee per month for cars in this range?

gistbite:
Why do you want an expensive car when you just landed? There are used cars between 1-1500
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 12:42am On Apr 30, 2022
I support this, if possible even at a token fee

sirabbey:
Wow, This is a lot of healthy juices. You need to organize a zoom meeting to teach investing and planning for retirements for immigrants family. Thank you and God bless you Ticha.

Try White Calling App
mintyx:
Hello house,

Please does any know any app to make cheaper phone calls outside UK like Nigeria and some other countries?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 12:34am On Apr 18, 2022
No, not for this reason. The person was returned based on Paragraph 9.20.2 of the Immigration Rules.

The person applied to attend an event in the UK but didn't know the name of the event when asked, also the purpose of why the person is attending the event when asked is different from what is on the form.

We just need to know if someone returned based on that paragraph would be placed on Ban

BorisJohnson:
For example: while filling the forms, ‘mama wrote’ that she was going to the UK for holidays, to rest, visit places and spend some time with the (new) grandchildren and have some fun with them.

At port of entry, mama said she was coming because her daughter just gave birth to baby number two, and the burden is huge so she is coming to be taking care of the children while the parents are at work…..

Something like that right?
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 4:17pm On Apr 17, 2022
The reason for the denial was that the information the person filled in on the visa application form is different from the answers given at the border when interviewed.

But the document didn't mention any ban, only mention that the visit visa was cancelled. Can the person contact the home office to know if there is a ban? This would guide the person in future applications

BorisJohnson:
…the document must have mentioned EGG-ZAKLY the reason for refusal of entry.

When the person is completing a visa application next time there will be a question thus:

Have you ever been denied entry into the UK at the port of entry?
If No. good for you.

If yes……
When were you denied?
What was the reason?

And the ECO will then make a decision on whether or not the person deserves a second chance.

Good day all,

Please for someone that came to the UK on a visit visa and was returned back to Nigeria from the entry border at the airport with the visit visa cancelled, does this mean a ban for the person? If yes, how many years?

The document given to the person at the airport does not mention anything on the ban, just want to check if anyone has experience with such a thing

Thank you

Yea and you can now take a full-time job with your studies

If you wish, you can covert your study to Part-time, but make sure you complete your study!

TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 11:27pm On Mar 09, 2022
Ralphlauren:
Yes, you can. I currently have 2 mortgages. My source of income and affordability tests were based on my contract jobs.

I used very good mortgage brokera/advisors that sourced the lowest possible interest rates for me though.

Anything is possible if you have a very good mortgage broker that knows his stuff.
Thanks for this information. I will definitely need their contact when it's time
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 10:16pm On Mar 09, 2022
Just another quick one, can I get a mortgage if am on a contract job?

Seems Lenders tend to favour those on a permanent contract more than those on contract jobs, is that true?

Ralphlauren:
Its not just about having a deposit. The bank looks at affordability. That is, can you pay your mortgage monthly through the term of the mortgage without defaulting? You need to have stable and regular income to demonstrate affordability.

If you have a job that covers your expenses including the monthly repayments, then you are good to go.
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 10:10pm On Mar 09, 2022
Thank you for this but if am doing outside IR35 will mean that I have to use my own registered company and sort out all the tax payments myself?

Ralphlauren:
Outside IR35 is better as you are able to claim expenses which means your take home pay is much more depending on your tax arrangements. Eg. Getting paid minimum wage every month and taking a lump dividend payment at the end of the company's financial year.

Regarding the frequency of wage payments, it depends on the recruitment agency. Some pay weekly but majority pay monthly. Some crazy ones have 45-60 days payment policy especially for roles outside IR35.

For those in IT, Please I need leads on where I can get contract jobs specifically on Data Analyst roles

Thanks
TravelRe: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 2) by specialenvoy: 6:25pm On Mar 09, 2022
Please on this contract job, which is better Inside IR35 or Outside?

Also, are wages paid weekly or monthly if one is getting a daily contract job?

Ralphlauren:
I'm guessing this is a contract job offering a day rates? If yes, then ask for a salary illustration from both the umbrella company and whoever administers the Payee system. Compare the take home pay offered and then make your decision.

Based on my experience, you are better off with the umbrella (although they have their charges called "margins" ) when compared to the take home salary being offered by the payee payroll system.

Most agencies have more than one preferred umbrella company, so I'll suggest you ask for salary illustration from all of them before you decide on who to go with.

Please for those currently working with NHS before getting COS. How do you fill this section on the skilled work visa application?

Have you ever worked for any of the following types of organisation?

Government (including Public or Civil Administration and non-military compulsory national service)

Can you term NHS Health workers as Government staff?
