well, I believe selling shares of the company, will make it more commercially viable and will be more transparent in their dealing and government will simply tax them for what ever profits. I think it is a good idea. Government managing it, just results in fraud by government officials while and independent management is not controlled by any government body. Atiku is a free market believer, so it makes sense for him to say that.

Health / Genocide: Forced Sterilization In Canada. by speedyGonzales: 3:12pm On Nov 14, 2018
Sterilizations happened as recently as 2017, Saskatchewan lawsuit alleges

As a senator calls for a nationwide review of the forced sterilization of Indigenous women, a lawyer representing a proposed class action detailed the women's accounts of being sterilized without proper and informed consent.

"In the throes of labour ... they would be approached, harassed, coerced into signing these consent forms," said Alisa Lombard, an associate with Maurice Law, the first Indigenous-owned national law firm in Canada.

The women would be told that they could not leave until their tubes were tied, cut or cauterized, she added, or that "they could not see their baby until they agreed."

At least 60 Indigenous women are pursuing a class-action lawsuit launched last year, alleging they underwent forced sterilizations over the past 20 to 25 years in Saskatchewan. Each woman is claiming about $7 million in damages.

In most of the cases — some happening as recently as 2017 — the "women report being told that the procedure was reversible," Lombard said.

She said the procedures have had a huge effect on the women.

"Many have had bouts and persistent depression, anxiety — many are no longer with us because of those ailments and those circumstances."

Lombard said the case is being taken against the physicians involved, the Saskatchewan Health Authority, the province of Saskatchewan and the Government of Canada.

In a statement to The Current following Tuesday's broadcast, Indigenous Services Minister Jane Philpott described forced sterilization as "a serious violation of human rights."

"We all have a role to play to ensure that Indigenous patients receive quality healthcare free of prejudice, including ensuring medical professionals receive cultural safety training, as laid out in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's calls to action," the statement continued.

The Current requested an interview with the Saskatoon Health Region and the Saskatchewan Health Authority, but did not receive a response.

The Saskatoon Health Region apologized last year, after it ordered an independent review in Jan. 2017. It was conducted by Dr. Yvonne Boyer, a Métis lawyer and former nurse, and Dr. Judy Bartlett, a physician and former professor with the College of Medicine at the University of Manitoba. The 57-page report interviewed seven Indigenous women and compiled details described as "scare tactics" to get their consent.

Boyer, who is now a senator for Ontario, called on the Senate this week to study the scope of the issue nationally.

"If it's happened in Saskatoon, it has happened in Regina, it's happened in Winnipeg, it's happened where there's a high population of Indigenous women," Boyer said in an interview.

why will government be so quiet about this and why is it that the system does not work when you try to register an collect one, but there are planing a 100,000 naira fine on Nigerians everywhere, this card is optional in other countries, why is it compulsory in Nigeria.

Nigerians need to no that, by January 1 2019, police can start arresting you anywhere/anytime for not carrying a National ID, which the government systems have failed to work, if you try to register and you get 6 months in prison or pay 100,000 naira!

Is this the beginning of the registration for the Anti-Christ? is Buhari the Real Anti-Christ? it will make sense that he has been replaced with a double and the zombism of his supporters and why he has killed so many Christians during his tenure.

Politics / Enforcing National ID Scheme In January 2019 (FG Trying To Defraud Nigerians?) by speedyGonzales: 4:03pm On Nov 12, 2018
ONE of the most frustrating attributes of the public service in Nigeria is the typical perfunctory attitude of officers to their jobs and lack of regard to the very members of the public they are employed to serve. This has again reared its head in the touted intention of the Federal Government to start implementing the mandatory use of the National Identification Number, NIN, as from January 1, 2019, less than 60 days away.

Back on September 12, 2018, the Federal Executive Council, FEC, had approved “the strategic roadmap for Digital Identity Ecosystem” which, according to the Director General/CEO of the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, Mr. Aliyu Aziz, would bring into full force the implementation of the NIMC Act 23 of 2007 as from January 1, 2019.

The Act spells out the powers, functions and sanctions connected with the implementation of the National ID scheme by the NIMC. Of particular interest to the public are items 4 and 11 of the offences and penalties under the Act. Item 4 specifies that failure to register for the National Identification Number by eligible persons (all Nigerian citizens) would attract imprisonment for not less than six months or a fine of N100,000. Item 11 provides that the registration of wrong persons (foreigners) by card collection and activation officers will attract the same penalty.

The Federal Government appears keen to quickly get the NIN scheme to play its role in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan, ERGP. It will enable government to meet the critical needs of the citizenry in the areas of food security, energy, transportation, human capital development and in developing the local digital economy.

Queerly enough, both the Federal Government and the NIMC have since gone mute after the September declarations. Apart from the recently-concluded flurry of identity registration exercises by the NIMC, there is very little in the public domain to show that January 1, 2019 is the “D” Day for the mandatory enforcement of the NIN.

A massive media activity ought to have been mounted to enable the citizenry prepare. It is appalling that the people are not being informed of the danger that awaits those who cannot provide their authentic NIN in the next two months. The NIMC has not even proved that it has been able to cover enough of the population to begin talking about a mandatory implementation that could putatively send millions of Nigerians to prison or get them fined.

Nigeria is one of the few countries in the world that seem unable to implement a credible National ID Card scheme to help it chart its development through the competent management of its population and human resources.

The Federal Government and the NIMC should get more serious!
