but Case and Bruno make lots of quick passes especially to our wingers and wingbacks
That's were most of our chances came from. Quick balls into the channels. Bruno had 6 key passes and 8/12 accurate long balls.

Some of una dey shout fuckin Burnley like say na Sean Dyche Burnley be this.

This is not the Burnley of Chris Wood wey dem dey suspend for air play ball

This team is different. Look well and you'll see.

Credit where it's due. We deserve the win. We've played well in our 3 pl matches so far.

I don't know why Sesko was benched but it looks stupid sha
Mount, Mbuemo and Cunha have been superb that's why. With Cunha injury he will get his chance

the challenge is defensively, Dorgu can easily track back.

Our midfielders, maybe Mainoo but he's slow, are not ball-carriers, don't have the legs and thus make long passes
It's tactical not about legs. Quick pass into the channels for runners to expose the opponent backline.

Bruno passes from deep were gorgeous. Mbuemo is going to be more deadly when he regains full fitness.

Who were those arguing against me some few days back on our attackers wasting chances to put us ahead in all our games this season. We end up putting more pressure on ourselves.

For starters, If Bayern finished 4th last season, he most likely would be jobless as we speak. You can imagine his fate if they finished 10th, let alone 15th position under his watch. He would have been assassinated.

Per adventure, he use juju continue this season after such an abysmal record last term and was trailing 0-2 to a 4th division team after the club's £300m investment in players and facilities, he would have been dismissed at half time.

Germans are not that sentimental.
You have not said anything that's relevant or connected to my post. Defending German champions also played away to a 2nd division team and needed a late goal to win despite having Kane, kimmich, Olise etc in their line up yet none of the Bayern fans are overreacting or asking for kompany to be sacked. They were also knocked out by a 3rd division team last season. It happens and it's not a big deal like some here are making it out to be. The two important games we have played this season we have been descent enough and only let down by our attackers. We should have gotten something from the Arsenal game and won against Fulham. If it was the Burnley game I would have understand but not an inconsequential carabo cup match were we started two teenagers in our backline.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 5:19pm On Aug 28, 2025
I really don't get the overreaction. Bayern were in similar position to us last night drawing 2:2 to a division 3 team with Kane, Olise etc until a late minute goal and none of their fans are calling for kompany to be sacked. They were even leading 2 nil at first. This same Bayern were knocked out by a division 2 team last season. It sucks we lost but it happened in an inconsequential tournament with teenagers in our backline.

He's actually right. The more chances you create, the higher the probability of converting them.

You are not creating anything. Only 2 Big chances against Fulham. Zero, against Arsenal.

Being clinical matters. But there's more reality in converting 2 out of 10, than 2 out of 2.
There's no way you watched that Arsenal game and came to the conclusion we did not create enough chances to score at least 2. Our xG was even higher than Arsenal. We had 22shots, 7 on target. Liverpool last night had 5 shots in total and scored 3 goals. That's what it means to be clinical. Expecting a team to create 5 or 6 big chances per game especially away from home is wishful thinking. The most you can expect per game is 2 and thats why you need to be clinical when you get your opportunity.

Teams miss chances, it happens. Your ability to generate more or better chances is what matters
No it doesn't happen. You have to be clinical as well. Arsenal didn't create much against us yet they won. Liverpool have conceded 4 goals in their first 2 games yet they have 6 points. None of their fans is analysing the goals conceded and blaming this defender or that goalkeeper like we are doing because they are scoring goals. We need to be scoring goals and our attackers need to be more clinical. You can't keep wasting chances and putting more pressure on the defense. If Cunha and Bruno had buried their chances against Fulham the mood would have been different going into the 2nd half. Hopefully our attackers start delivering.

You think the subs were spot on?
The Dalot and Maguire subs were understandable. Hard for me to blame the manager after we should have been 3-0 up in the first half with Cunha hitting the post, Leno save and Bruno missing a pk. Score those and the game is put to bed early on. Its Just a continuation of last season and the game vs Arsenal where again our attackers wastefulness let us down more than any managerial mistakes.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 12:40pm On Aug 25, 2025
Cunha scores his two chances, Bruno buries that penalty and we go in at half time 2 or 3:0 up and cruising. Once again our attackers not taking their chances and missing key opportunities keeps biting us. Same thing happened to City against Tottenham with Marmoush and Haaland missing key chances.

Just wait. Fans will soon start complaining abt Cuhna n Mbeuno. These guys can destroy any defence but almighty Amorim system is limiting them. For sesko to thrive he need constant pull out n killer passes. His input has been zero. l will always prefer Mazaroui on that RB
It's now obvious you all are just emotional and can't analyze anything rationally..

If I were Sir Jim Ratcliffe, I would call Amorim to my office and tell him that if he doesn't change formation for the next game, he is off...

What is the essence of playing 3 CBs when your defence is still porous? If he were flexible to instruct on the CBs to push higher up into midfield, it would have been better, but no, we are being overrun in midfield almost always, but Amorim is still insistent that we must play the same way. I don't understand why someone will be failing yet still be very arrogant and stubborn...

We were supposed to be pushing for a winner yesterday but his subs gave Fulham the impetus to attack even more. Imagine if Marco Silva saw Zirkzee and Mainoo coming on for Shaw and Bruno. ..Definitely, Fulham would have reacted by bringing on a defensive-minded player but no, Silva brought in attack-minded players just because they could smell blood with our cowardly approach...
if he had done that and we went on to concede you would still blame him for those substitution. Maguire he brought on nearly scored yesterday.

This game is going be very difficult, more difficult than the Arsenal game. Even a 1:0 win would be good enough. None of Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea won Fulham at home last season. That should tell you how compact they are at home. I feel like Mount should retain his place from last week.

[b] Fenerbahçe has gone all out in the dispute for Antony and announced in the last few hours that it is willing to pay the amount requested by Manchester United : around 45 million euros according to ESPN .

- but for now, the Brazilian striker isn't entirely convinced about heading to Turkish football.

- Even with a significant salary in Istanbul, and for this reason negotiations remain ongoing, the former São Paulo player still prefers to wait for other clubs.

- However, many interested parties continue to insist on a loan.

- Manchester United, with whom the player has a contract until June 2027 , does not look favorably on a new loan transfer

- The Spanish club (Betis), in fact, continues to be one of the most committed behind the scenes in trying to sign Antony—again on loan, if possible. The scenario also pleases the player who emerged in Cotia.

- In addition to Betis , Manchester United has received inquiries - almost all on loan - from other European clubs, including Brighton in England, Bayer Leverkusen in Germany, and Benfica in Portugal. So far, none of these inquiries have resulted in any progress.

Mainoo played in a 3 midfield England setup, he also excel under bald fraud playing in a midfield 3. This current 2 midfield 343 system will expose him and other for their lack of pace and mobility. Maybe a 352 will 3 midfielders could work if Amorim decide to be flexible..
England switched to 3-4-3 at the Euros during the knockout stages. Rice and Maino were the midfield partnership.

.....Baleba ó, Balewa ó, we ain't getting nada again. Let's just focus on the squad we have now.

Amorim said in the presser than Mount can play the position and Bruno's fate is sealed already - a CM this season.
Bruno has proven himself extremely capable of operating deeper and dictating games from that position. He won numerous man of the match last season playing from deep. Maino will be an ideal partner if he steps up this season.

Omo we need those goals pass Arsenal. We need goals.
Which is why I am amused by those talking about needing a midfielder over a striker. Maybe they have forgotten the Europa League final, a game we dominated and still lost because we couldn't score. Our biggest issue is clearly a lack of goals, not midfield control. Even when we control games, we couldn't score. Just look at the matches at the end of last season, especially the ones we dominated and still ended up losing, including that final.

I didn't watch the other games. Honestly, we need a midfielder even more than a CF but whatever the club thinks is best, they should do...

If Bruno is more disciplined, he can play behind Cunha and Mbeumo and we use the money for Sesko for Baleba or any top DM. I wouldn't even mind if we signed a CM to add to the mix because Casemiro, Collyer and Ugarte are not enough in terms of quality. I will let Mainoo deputise for Bruno.
Maybe you have forgotten the Europa league final, a game we controlled and still lost because we couldn't score. I am glad the club is not thinking like you. Our most urgent issue is a striker and goalgetters. Not a midfielder. Even with games we control we do not score goals. Look at the last 10 games we played last season . Specifically the games we controlled we lost including that final.

Where do you read excuses?

It will amount to telling yourself a lie if you look at our midfield and think we are good to go for the season. When I saw our lineup vs Everton, I hinted that we could do with a midfielder for the money we plan to spend on Sesko, that's how much I think of our midfield as the one area we need to fix...
So you didn't see the need for a midfielder against Bournemouth and west ham when we we won comfortable but because of Everton game the club should disregard their initial plan going into the summer. Why are fans so reactionary.

[Plettenberg] Manchester United and Newcastle are currently in talks with Benjamin Sesko‘s management. Both teams have presented their projects and financial offers. The decision now lies mainly with the player and his camp.

Sesko it is. Seems Watkins was back up plan.

It is just so funny that Man u is not taking this midfield as priority. We have been suffering from this for like 5 years now. I’m yet to see any window which Man U will get like 3 midfielders. Just buying what we don’t really need up and down. Have always tell people we can’t rely on maino and casemiro. Especially mainoo he is too slow and very sluggish in decision making. I pray he up is game this season. Because I can see what he is offering in the midfield . You watch vintinha connecting defends with attackers , distributing ball and a very good ball carrier and also see the likes of pedri with killer pass and midfield control. We have none of this in our squad.
None of those players you have listed play in a midfield two. Put Pedri or Vitinha in a midfield two and see how their performance reduces. Maino is good enough for that role. Amorim just needs to twerk his system a little bit to accommodate.

PSG first thought it was about buying star players and paying over the odds wages but not anymore, now they go after players who fit are technically gifted and are committed to their project. PSG has seen the light, they now spend wisely. We don't need players that cost over 80m to be competitive.

Liverpool just signed Kerkez for 40m...
We have offered more to sign Mbeumo than Joao Pedro cost Chelsea...
Arsenal signed Zubimendi for less than we paid for Casemiro...
How much did Frimpong cost Liverpool?
Cherki?

There's value in the market as long as you're not after established names.
It was on this same thread some fans were against us signing Cherki, Delap, Mbuemo etc. Well known and well watched players. They were perceived as not good enough us to take us the next level so now imagine the reaction if we start buying Unknown players from South America, Africa, Germany etc

I don't know why you keep using PSG. They have spent nearly 900million over the last 3 seasons and still pay big bucks for players. Kvara was 70million, Kolo muani was 95, 19yrs old doue was 50, 20yrs old Neves was 60, Ramos 65m, Dembele 50 and even Barcola 45m etc. Those are huge amounts for unproven players.

The coach can only identify players working with the scouting term, he is not in charge of negotiations. The board are the ones failing here. We should look elsewhere, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, South America and even Africa. See PSG for example, how much did they use to assemble their super team? I bet we have spent more and that's because we keep looking at established names. Pacho was signed from Eintracht Frankfurt for a modest fee, Mendes from Sporting, Ruiz from Napoli, Vitinha from Porto, Marquinhos from Roma, Barcola from Lyon and so on...We should leave England and look elsewhere.
If fans here hated getting Delap for just 30million and Mbuemo who are well known and well watched, how do you think they will react to buying unknown players from those leagues. I can even see you added Africa lol. Please let's be realistic when dropping opinions. PSG have spent nearly 900million over the last 3 seasons.
