Onana should be more aggressive
Onana was dogshit on those corners during the 2nd half. Arsenal would have scored 4 just from corners. If that useless Gabriel had played it would have been a different story.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 11:34pm On Dec 04, 2024
We wasted that first half. If we had started with Zirkzee, Amad, rashy etc we would have gotten something from that first half. Garnacho, Mount and Hojlund offered nothing.

Players at man utd r different from d one at sporting.Besides we play Arsenal regularly so is a different ball game.Current Chelsea side is buzzing but drew with us under RVN.One on one in terms of players r dey really better than us? If nt for depletion of our LWB d highest na draw.
That's a different scenario. What I am saying is Arsenal will use the sporting game as a template to know how we would set up and what to expect from Amorim 3:4:3. Sporting that were already well versed on it even playing at home got demolished 5:1. Talkless of United that are still learning it. Am not just confident going into this game.

that doesn't really mean much.
It does bro. if Sporting that has mastered his set up could get demolish, what hope does United have. Lets see how it goes today. A draw would be a good result

Nigga what? 25 reps. What da hell.

That should be easy nau...and you arent supposed to feel like you did anything.

If I just wake up and go straight to push ups, I will do 100 reps at a go.

But I normally do jumping jacks., squat jumps and then 70reps pushups...2mins rest and another 40reps..before sit ups etc

You should be aiming for 50reps. You can do it.
You are not doing push ups, you are just going up and down with poor forms. You cannot do 50 push ups with correct form. I have seen people claiming to do 100 at a go and they are doing nonsense. Tell them to do diamond push ups and they can't even complete 10.

Conte won the league in first attempt with his 3-4-3 after taking over a team that finished in 10th position the previous season..no?

Not saying Amorim should win the league this season but facts are facts!!
Chelsea were champions two seasons before conte. Why exactly are you mentioning conte and winning the league in relation to Amorim. That's totally irrelevant. What is your expectations for Amorim this season?

Not sure anyone is doing this here...

The same Pep wey Sell Ibrahimovic and Eto to accommodate the likes of Pedro and Villa, na im still use Lewandoski and Halaand as CF, amongst other glaring tactical tweaks to win trophies

The bottom line here is that strategy remains a means to an end - the end is winning and returning to the top as fast as possible, considering past, present and future investments and ofcourse, the status of the club

This pattern thing wey we dey talk dey funny to me sha...maybe it's the way some peeps here are presenting it though...
Come on, asking for few changes here and there is different from saying he should change his entire style of play just to get results. That was the downfall of Erik. He abandoned his style of play to fit the players and it went downhill from there. Amorim should be drumming it into those clowns. You either adapt to my style of play or start looking for other clubs in May. It's my way or the highway.

If we had gotten Harry Kane back then for the 100milllion won't it have been better than the 80milllion plus we spent on Hojlund and Zirkzee.
I remember arguing this with either lequ or Laride in 2021 and he said Kane is too old and won't fit our style of play or something about resale value. Well here we are.

Even though you are an ETH fanboy, I support this message!
It's a dumb message. When people praise Slot or Flick it was due to implementing a style of play very quickly not just results. Everyone could see what they were doing and how they wanted their teams to play. 3 seasons into ETH tenure and we still didn't have any coherent style of play. Even when we were winning games everyone was complaining.

Lol, I am sure losing 2-4 games works for everyone here. We are talking about consistent losses and draws. Moreover, if we go on a 5-game streak of losses and draws, everyone will start asking questions. with this set of players and the new ‘inflexible’ style, it’s looking like we will get there very soon. Hopefully not.
The manner of losses and draws also matters. If we are seeing a clear distinct style being implemented, domination, attacking footy and better ball progression fans will still be patient just like Pep, Arteta etc. If it's still the same turgid and clueless football while onana makes 5 big saves per game fans will rightly start asking questions.

What does this even mean?

How would draws and losses help in the long run?

So it has suddenly become acceptable to finish worse than last season? How would that be a long term goal?
Why people want to be spoon-feed every little thing.

We are going to draw and loss games as Amorim drills his style of play into this players. It's going to take a while for the players to get use to their positioning and what to do with or without the ball. Implementing his style of play fully is going to help us in the long run just like Pep and Arteta. If it takes losing and drawing 2 to 4 games to get us dominating like his Sporting side so be it.

Do you mean it's okay if we continue to draw games left right and centre as long as there is a "style of play"?
What exactly are you struggling to understand? As long as it takes to implement his style of play. Short terms Draw and Loss for long term goals.

Fair enough that you accepted that it was a bit overboard.

I get your general point but i don't quite agree with it though.

Nothing concerns me with what Player A did in another club when we are comparing his impact or importance in OUR OWN history compared to Player B.

We should be comparing Player A's achievements at Man Utd with Player B's achievements at Man Utd. If Player A went elsewhere to peak even higher than Player B, it just means that Player A is not only a greater Man Utd player than Player B he is also a greater player overall.

Rooney, Vida, Rio. That is probably it for the list of Man Utd players in the 21st century that can even chat to CR7 in terms of United status.

P.S Obviously Scholes, Giggs, Becks, Keano are not in consideration as they span both 20th and 21st centuries.
Spot on. I could never understand that line of thought.

Well, the others spent their peak years here. I don't know why you're missing this point. Ronaldo was good here but we didn't see the best of him here. If Keane, Rooney, Vidic, Evra and the likes left before reaching their peak, I won't rank them so high.
The point is why will you judge Ronaldo by his Madrid performance when we are talking about his impact at United. You are basically saying if Ronaldo had flopped at Madrid, you will rate his performance at United higher. This is like an Aberdeen fan saying Ferguson is not a legend or great at the club because he reached an higher level at United.

patrickmuf:
Rashford's best did not come with trophies and was not good enough compared to other players at the time. It's like Kane and his goals for Spurs, even though he was very prolific, people just won't rate him highly enough when he retires but Spurs fans will.

Back to United, Evra was one of the best LBs in the world while he was here same as Ferdinand. Park was the engine room of the team so, I rate them highly based on that. It's like saying Forlan is a United great because of the career he went on to have after leaving the club. Don't get me wrong, Ronaldo had aa great 3 years here but for me, I won't put him above the likes of Rio, Evra, Vidic when ranking our greatest ever players.
This post doesn't even follow your logic. Was Ronaldo not one of the best players in the world at United? Was Ronaldo peak form and performance not greater than Rio, Evra and Park own? Park was not even a guaranteed starter in most of his career at United. You wanted to use longevity until you found out Ronaldo spent similar years as Evra, Park , Vidic etc. No one is talking about his career at Madrid so your Forlan example and career he went on to have after leaving United angle doesn't even follow.
