TrebleChamp: Trashford refused to take a wage cut and Villa pulled out. Where would Aston Villa see £300k/week to pay Trashford? Malacia deal also didn't go through because of wage issue, same with Scamcho and probably with Antony too. United have done all they can to get rid of those useless players even significantly reducing their selling fee, but the players greed for money over football is what stalling their move away... Rashford was never staying at villa so nothing to do with wages. Both Antony and Sancho have both agreed to take wage cuts to move away. |

Barca just got played by Nico. Rashford will be smiling right now. Hopefully we don't settle for another loan if Barca comes calling. |

You laid the foundation, you carry the responsibility. Let’s stop acting like commitment to a woman is the only measure of commitment to your own blood. None of your children deserve anything as inheritance. It's a privilege not a right. |

Deco even confirmed their interest at the start of the window which is why Rashford has been adamant on only Barcelona. If he will get his wish depends on Barcelona deal for Williams.

Rashford rejected villa and has his eyes set on Barcelona. We would have made a deal using Rashford for Watkins if he was willing to stay at Villa. |

I don't know how to feel how about the Emiliano Martinez link. He is definitely an upgrade on what we have but he's 33 which is a good age for a goalkeeper but villa re calling 35m. What does the house think. Yes or No?

I told you all we definitely adding a striker after Mbuemo. I saw a report yesterday Amorim asked for Two 10s, a striker, center midfielder and a goalkeeper.

nitrogen: Go and check his stats for seasons before the 24/25 season. If we want to go for a merc, we target established ones especially for 60m. This guy might underperform for us and we would be back to this point next summer.
I am hoping Amorim won’t have him replace Rasmus upfront or top strike him with Rasmus in a 3-5-2, because I don’t believe we will sign a new striker after getting Mbeumo and Cunha. Anyways, if we are to sign the guy, should be for max of 40m. There's no where you will sign a winger coming on the back of a season after scoring 20league goals and providing 7assist in a top league like England for 40m. Sesko and ekitike with 13 and 14league goals in bundesliga are being prized for 70 to 80million. Let's be realistic for once. As for his stats the upper season he had 9goals and 6 assist in 25games. Those are good stats for a winger at Brentford. What you will notice is constant progression and he might just be entering his prime. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 4:37pm On Jun 06, 2025 |
TrebleChamp: The board shouldn't show desperation by chasing this deal if Brentford want to play hard ball, otherwise we may end up paying like £100m on him like we did for Antony. Other players are available and maybe cheaper too... INEOS will walk away if Brentford prices him over their valuation. We did the same with Braithwaith. The deal will be completed for 55m plus 5 as add ons which Brentford want. |

MRTA7: I agree but I think there is a rethink due to Delap going to Chelsea. I dont believe the money will be there for a deal for a Gyokeres or Osimhem. You don't think the potential sales of Garnacho, Hojlund, Anthony, Sancho, Rashford etc will offset the amount needed to get a Striker |

MRTA7: Dont be surprised if we dont sign a striker after signing Mbeumo. The initial plan was Cunha, Delap and Mbuemo/Semenyo. We will definitely add a striker then outgoings will determine what position to focus on next.

Jamiuokolaa: The discussion circled around his current contract situation which expires next summer, and not Brendford's future plans to extend
Mbappe - best player in the world at that time, also had the "option to extend" at Psg. He later joined Madrid without them paying a dime in transfer fees.
A lot could happen within a short period of time - Personal decisions, financial struggles etc but that's even another conversation entirely.
*sneezes* Why are your examples always so far off. The option was for Mbappe alone to decide to extend for a year not Psg, there was nothing the club could do. In this case Brentford are the one with the option not Mbuemo. I really don't get how something so simple is complicated for you to understand.

Jamiuokolaa: The number of years left is what is written down and signed, not the one they verbally committed to do in future..and where they don't even have any obligation to honor.
Mbuemo signed a contract that expires next year as shown below The optional year is also written down and signed. It's basically in your screenshot. Club has the option of an extra year in his contract which they have said they will trigger making it two years left. I really dont get whats hard to understand |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 1:11pm On Jun 05, 2025 |
Jamiuokolaa: I am not working with future tense.
Below is the expiration date of Mbuemo's current contract at Brentford. This was what Mr Mrviktor correctly referred to in his initial post. You must take into account the optional year Brentford are going to trigger. If you are working in a company and you have a year left in your original deal, then the company says it's going to trigger the optional year in your contract, how many years do you have left? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 12:53pm On Jun 05, 2025 |
Jamiuokolaa: Thats because I clearly said that the club have no obligation to trigger his extension. The reasons for triggering or not triggering are actually Irelevant here.
The actual contractual years are what matter, not options for extensions. Brentford have said they will definitely trigger his extension which is why it's reported they are under no pressure to sell which means he has two years remaining. |
