I fear Amorim won't survive this summer despite being the man for the job. He just need time and some new signings Anytime a coach has finished below top 4 or going to miss out the Glazers have pulled the trigger. Moyes, Van gaal, Mourinho, Ole etc Erik Fa cup win bought him some grace from being sacked which Amorim Europa would have done had we won.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 8:00am On May 17, 2025
INEOS spent €245Million on transfers this season. Only Chelsea spent more money than us this season. They are already bringing in new players before the season even ends. Liverpool didn't give Slot a dime to spend this season and they are currently champions.

The way most of you just type without critical reasoning. Madrid is rushing to get players in because they have a tournament in June they're preparing for. They have only concluded Trent who Liverpool are not even allowing to participate in the club world club and Huijsen.

Cunha deal is already done, Delap relegation clause will kick in by the end of the season so we are waiting for that, Mbuemo or another attacker will still be added. At least 5 new players will join this team for next season.

This game is good preparation for Tottenham which explains why Amorim went full strength.
This is likely the team that will start on Wednesday.

Why are you talking as if 32 years old Salah doesn't have 28 goals in the epl this season cheesy

Osihmen was one player that gave his all in the AFCON. Osimhen brings more than goals to the team. He brings energy. There was one mad assist he gave in Napoli where he juggled the ball while defenders where around him. Player that turns up even when not scoring. That's the kind of player you are talking about. A striker that makes it easy for a team to score.
What's the connection between Salah and Osimhen?

He scored one goal at the AFCON. Stop trying to sugarcoat his performance with energy and passion.

I am still waiting for you to point out those decisive goals and big performances he delivers when it matters.

Going by his stats Osimhen is not an elite striker which explains why clubs are not willing to cave to his salary demands.

18, 10, 18, 31, and 17, 35 and counting

Goals that matters. Baba dey turn up where it matters.

Delap don score reach 13 goals for him career?

I can't believe you are comparing Osimhen to Delap. You see why we can't leave the trenches?
Let’s be clear this isn't about comparing Osimhen to anyone. I am simply highlighting his stats to determine if he truly qualifies as an elite striker. So far, his career reflects that of a solid 20 goal a season striker. Nothing extraordinary or mind blowing. Scoring 18, 10, or 17 goals in a season are for attacking midfielders and wingers not elite strikers.

Now, has he ever really shown up when it matters most? He was ordinary during the AFCON for Nigeria. Show me the goals and performances he has dropped when it really matters.

Whatever he's doing at turkey is irrelevant . This is a league where Enner Valencia, at 33, scored 29 league goals just two seasons ago, Icardi at 32 scored 25 last season. That puts things in perspective. Osimhen isn’t doing anything special there. He's doing the bare minimum.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 8:07pm On May 15, 2025
Spending 75 million and handing out £300k a week for a striker putting up 18, 10, and 17 goals in all comps across seasons would be pure madness. No wonder no club is rushing to meet his demands.

Na me tell Delap say make he no fit score for other games?

No doubt, he has prospects. If we get him, we must get someone with Osimhens experience along with him else it's failure. I might be wrong.
Even when you include all competitions, it doesn't look much better. He’s only hit 20+ goals in all comps once in a top five league. His season tallies? 18, 10, 18, 31, and 17. Those are Bruno Fernandes numbers talkless of an elite striker.

Osimmhen has done it in france, italy and now turkey
Done it in France’? Bro, he scored 13 league goals in his only season there and two were penalties. By that logic, Delap’s already ‘done it’ in England.

Let’s be real Osimhen has only hit over 15 league goals once in Europe’s top five leagues, and that was in Italy. So let’s stop pretending he’s Harry Kane or Lewandowski.

How many goals do you think he would actually score for us in the Premier League?

There are rumours that Amorim wants to keep Casemiro next season, and with Ugarte also staying, I doubt the club will prioritize signing a new DM. What’s certain is we are in the market for a goalkeeper. We have been linked with Milinkovic from Torino and Senne Lammens.

Oshimen just broke a 24yrs record at Galatasary yesterday. 35 goals in 36 games.

At Delap age, Napoli bought Oshimen for 80m. E no go better for Delap.
He still has one less league goal than Icardi last season. Maybe we should buy Icardi for performing in turkey. I like Osimhen, but if he wants the move, he needs to lower his wage demands. Simple.

we can have upgrades in some positions and there are positions we need QUALITY.
signings like Dorgu can work because it's a position where he can be allowed to make mistakes (and learn) that will not be costly in the grand scheme of things.
the team can use signings to raise the floor talent level but we just cannot score and the GK is full of school boy errors. we also lack the right personnel in DM for this system. it's either too weak or too technically deficient.
these three positions if we must buy, then it should be with the intent of solving the problem immediately.
You are right. I think the club wants to address the goals issue first with Cunha, delap and maybe Mbuemo then they would focus on other areas. Sales plus getting champions league will add more funds to upgrade the team.

Under different conditions, whether rain or sunshine. Whether babe break him heart or not. Whether you pass or not, you go fill his impact.

He's only proven himself in Italy and that was for just one season. Let’s not forget, a 'finished' Icardi bagged 25 league goals in Turkey last year, so let’s not get carried away with performances there.

If he’s willing to lower his wages then no problem. Cunha, Delap and Mbuemo add goals to this team in all areas.

small fish small pond pffft

Hojlund scored 10 goals last season without PK and a further 5 goals in the UCL, in an underperforming big club with all that spotlight and at a younger age too; even if we ignore the added pressure of a big transfer fee.
Hojlund is more tested on a bigger stage and more experienced than Delap. there's nothing Hojlund can learn from Delap and perhaps vice versa.
nothing suggests that we wouldn't see a bigger ghost. the guy on the table is not some exceptional youngster.
Holjund scored 10goals from 57 United league goals last season. That's just 17 percent of total goals, a far less than the 34% Delap did this season. Which by the way is Holjund best ever league season. Even at Atalanta he only scored 9 league goals in a free scoring team which shows his level. Delap has shown far more than Holjund ever did in a league season. I don't think any other player contributed more goals to their team than Delap. Even Salah 28goals was 33% of all Liverpool goals.

Looking at how Amorim tactics makes our striker isolated with our 2 wing forwards not running in the box but always playing wide, do you think Delap can succeed as a lone striker is this tactics against 2 central defenders? I prefer Osimhen as he ticks all boxes, but that doesn't mean he can't flop here due to the spiritual problem at the Club 😉.
Oshimen won't be bad but his wage demand is the stumbling block plus attitude. Delap will fit in with Amorim tactics well and for 30m is a steal.

Delap scored 12goals for a team fighting for Relegation. A team that has scored only 35 goals this season meaning he has scored 34% of all their goals. In a team were he's getting more chances he's definitely getting at least 19 to 23.

LMAO....This season Jonathan has 16 league goals, 10 from open play and 6 from penalties. Delap has 12 league Goals, 10 from open play, 2 from penalties. Both have the same goals from open play and we haven't even factored team and league level into the equation.

Jonathan best season is 24 league goals in 2022 and ten of those 24 are from penalties meaning his goal tallies are mostly padded by the amount o penalties he takes and he won't get that here with Bruno being our penalty taker.

Delap for 30million is a screwed buy with no con attached.
