Same way they may decide not to do so, or he decides he wants to walk for free...that's why it's an option.

Technically, that man would be a free agent by this time next year !
Brentford will definitely trigger the optional year if he stays, it's just a formality. We did the same with Maguire this season. He technically has two year left.

Jamiuokolaa:
Why are you adding the club option of one year extension..lol

That man's current contract at Brentford officially ends in Summer 2026
The club can automatically trigger the extension so it's effectively 2 years.

🚨 Manchester United have submitted £45m plus £10m add ons proposal for Bryan Mbeumo.

Negotiations started, as @David_Ornstein reports.

Brentford ask for fee close to what Man United paid for Cunha — starting from £70m with possibility to negotiate.

A player with only one year left on his contract... Another mount situation.. we better stand our ground with 47+3
He has two years left.

Mateta is not bad. He’s the kind of CF you want when you have fast wingers or AMs beside him. He can hold up the ball and can finish chances. He can definitely play a role and might be a really good addition.

He offers a completely different profile to the likes of Gyokeres, Delap and Hojlund as he lacks pace. But he’s a good player.
Spot on. Also next season hopefully we get a constant first Eleven, no changes unless needed. The only benefit of no European football. We can rotate for Cup games

am not writing mainoo off, but that guy has really disappointed me. Ugarte for me is good defensive but offensively he is found wanting.

Let get another defensive midfielder or promote some of the academy. Maybe kone
We are linked with Atalanta Ederson and Wharton but nothing concrete yet. I think it depends on Casemiro staying or leaving.

Maino/ Bruno then Ugarte/ New player if Casemiro leaves. I expect Collyer to take Eriksen minutes this season if he stays. They were also reports Amorim plans on using Cunha deeper.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 9:28am On Jun 03, 2025
Two players we all ignoring is Zirkzee and Maino. I feel both players would perform better this coming season. Zirkzee was picking up form before his unfortunate injury and he would link up well with both Cunha and Mbuemo.

yeah our recruitment has really improved since ineos took over.

I want us to really enforce more on midfield especially the defensive midfield. That is where we are seriously lacking. We conceded lots of goals this past season so it shouldn't happen again
Maino needs to step up in that role. I see no reason why Ugarte( Despite his limitations he's a still brilliant ball winner with high energy) and Maino/Bruno can't work. With Mbuemo and Cunha coming in , Maino only position to get game time is in that role.

Unless we sell Hojuju, I don’t really think Delap would be a good addition. For me, there isn’t much difference between the two of them.

Even if we have one or both of them we’ll still need a good striker who is not inexperienced and can score goals without needing his teammates to work for him.

We’re building a squad, not a starting XI. By the time season starts and injuries start cropping up, we’ll understand how important this is.
Delap would have been a fantastic addition. Apart from age he's not similar to Holjund in any way and besides Holjund scored 10 league goals and another 5 in the champions league in his first season. With a competent competition like delap he might pick up form again but that's by the way. Our back up to Delap is Mateta, Osimhen and Gyokeres have been ruled out. What do you think about Mateta?

The bigger issues here is that Amorim would most likely shoehorn him into his style/formation - his captain must always start.

Bruno's best position is that free role behind the #9 in a 4-2-3-1 formation but since that 3-4-2-1 has come to stay, it would be interesting to see how the manager addresses this problem that has been lingering for since he joined the club
Bruno can play as one of the two deep midfielders as long as he has an energetic partner so no worries. After getting a Striker, I feel we would add another midfielder to the team then with extra funds a goalkeeper.

I told you guys INEOS are not playing around. If Delap had chosen us we would had a front three by now.

Inter were always going to struggle...Barcelona should have knocked them out but that's football...

Now, for those who keep asking if there's any player out there who can replace the ones we have, PSG brought in Pacho from Eintracht Frankfurt, Duoe from Rennes, Neves from Benfica, Kvara from Napoli and look how they have gone on to dominate Europe. Save for Kvara, the rest were not so popular...In fact, 80% of the players in their squad were well-scouted, not the biggest names but efficient footballers...

They quickly shifted from going after big names to recruiting technical yet hardworking players...We don't need the big names, just go out there and sign players who are comfortable on the ball and are ready to work hard...It is not that difficult...
Yet when we were scouting Delap for cheap everyone was shouting and screaming for the big names (Osimhen and Gyokeres). We the fans are not yet ready.

According to reports we are not interested in Gyokeres and I don't think he would choose us as well. Mateta is our 2nd option.

Cunha, Mbeumo and Delap would definitely be an interesting regeneration of the attack.

Only time will tell if it'll be good.

I would not sell Bruno for £100m but I would not be upset if the club decided to do it.
On Paper it looks great with Amad at LWB. In Amorim system the LWB is given the license to operate as a winger so it won't impact his attacking instincts. That Frontline guarantees goals.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 10:51pm On May 26, 2025
Seems earlier reports were accurate. Our 3 main attacking targets are Cunha, Delap, Mbuemo/ Semenyo. Cunha is done, agreement already concluded with Delap pending his decision and now currently chasing Mbuemo. INEOS are not playing around

Ha! cheesy

You believe Amorim can achieve top 4 with those those players?

Okay o
Delap, Cunha and Mbuemo combined scored 45 league goals this season. If we get all three they are definitely adding goals to this team.

Chelsea made top 4 with Jackson scoring 10goals, Sancho 3, Neto 4 and Madueke 7.

Arsenal finished 2nd with none of their players scoring up to 10 league goals.

I think Cunha's purchase tells a lot about Amorim's preferred qualities in his 10s...unless he is looking to be have a runner/dribbler and a passer as 10s

I am also wondering where Mainoo would fit in the long run.

At CF, i think we should be looking at an upgrade on Delap. Unfortunately, not too many CFs seem to be "available" at the moment
With Delap skillset he would fit right in. The issue with many writing him off is they are basing their judgement on Hojlunds form / age and intermixing it with Delap. For 30million it's a steal. Let's be honest, Cunha - Mbuemo - Delap is already quite good with Holjund, Zirkzee, Mount, Bruno, Maino, Obi as back ups.

So Yoro is Injury prone too abi?
A lot of Young players get injured at the beginning, we have few exceptions. He is just 18.
This season he has been injury prone. That's all.

Heaven actually came back after an Injury scare, Amorim just substituted him for caution. So how is he even Injury prone. An 18 year old boy that doesn’t even have 1 full season of senior football. Based on what record is he branded injury prone?
This season he's been hampered by injuries. Hopefully it's a one off

I am not sure Amad has a future as a WB...

Amorim also needs to make his mind up about Bruno's long term position in the team - those shunts between CM and LAMF dont seem to be helping at all.
On the contrary I don't think amad has a future in this team as a 10. His best performance has come at wingback and we are stacked with so many tens.

Agree on the 2nd part. I think if Bruno stays he's definitely playing more as a centre midfielder.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 9:11pm On May 25, 2025
Cunha done, Delap to follow. Between Semenyo and Mbuemo I am leaning towards Mbuemo now. He is very direct, effective and a descent goal threat.
Delap

Cunha. Mbuemo

Dorgu. Bruno. ?? Amad

Cunha to United is a done deal. First signing confirmed.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 10:31am On May 22, 2025
I fear Amorim won't survive this summer despite being the man for the job. He just need time and some new signings Anytime a coach has finished below top 4 or going to miss out the Glazers have pulled the trigger. Moyes, Van gaal, Mourinho, Ole etc Erik Fa cup win bought him some grace from being sacked which Amorim Europa would have done had we won.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 8:00am On May 17, 2025
INEOS spent €245Million on transfers this season. Only Chelsea spent more money than us this season. They are already bringing in new players before the season even ends. Liverpool didn't give Slot a dime to spend this season and they are currently champions.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 7:32am On May 17, 2025
The way most of you just type without critical reasoning. Madrid is rushing to get players in because they have a tournament in June they're preparing for. They have only concluded Trent who Liverpool are not even allowing to participate in the club world club and Huijsen.

Cunha deal is already done, Delap relegation clause will kick in by the end of the season so we are waiting for that, Mbuemo or another attacker will still be added. At least 5 new players will join this team for next season.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by spillo1: 7:31pm On May 16, 2025
This game is good preparation for Tottenham which explains why Amorim went full strength.
This is likely the team that will start on Wednesday.

Why are you talking as if 32 years old Salah doesn't have 28 goals in the epl this season cheesy

Osihmen was one player that gave his all in the AFCON. Osimhen brings more than goals to the team. He brings energy. There was one mad assist he gave in Napoli where he juggled the ball while defenders where around him. Player that turns up even when not scoring. That's the kind of player you are talking about. A striker that makes it easy for a team to score.
What's the connection between Salah and Osimhen?

He scored one goal at the AFCON. Stop trying to sugarcoat his performance with energy and passion.

I am still waiting for you to point out those decisive goals and big performances he delivers when it matters.

Going by his stats Osimhen is not an elite striker which explains why clubs are not willing to cave to his salary demands.

18, 10, 18, 31, and 17, 35 and counting

Goals that matters. Baba dey turn up where it matters.

Delap don score reach 13 goals for him career?

I can't believe you are comparing Osimhen to Delap. You see why we can't leave the trenches?
Let’s be clear this isn't about comparing Osimhen to anyone. I am simply highlighting his stats to determine if he truly qualifies as an elite striker. So far, his career reflects that of a solid 20 goal a season striker. Nothing extraordinary or mind blowing. Scoring 18, 10, or 17 goals in a season are for attacking midfielders and wingers not elite strikers.

Now, has he ever really shown up when it matters most? He was ordinary during the AFCON for Nigeria. Show me the goals and performances he has dropped when it really matters.

Whatever he's doing at turkey is irrelevant . This is a league where Enner Valencia, at 33, scored 29 league goals just two seasons ago, Icardi at 32 scored 25 last season. That puts things in perspective. Osimhen isn’t doing anything special there. He's doing the bare minimum.
