We need a great goal scorer and Osihnmen is one of the best.

In what universe is Osimhen a great goal scorer. Bro has scored 20 plus league goal once in his career despite playing in Italy and France

Fair enough that you accepted that it was a bit overboard.

I get your general point but i don't quite agree with it though.

Nothing concerns me with what Player A did in another club when we are comparing his impact or importance in OUR OWN history compared to Player B.

We should be comparing Player A's achievements at Man Utd with Player B's achievements at Man Utd. If Player A went elsewhere to peak even higher than Player B, it just means that Player A is not only a greater Man Utd player than Player B he is also a greater player overall.

Rooney, Vida, Rio. That is probably it for the list of Man Utd players in the 21st century that can even chat to CR7 in terms of United status.

P.S Obviously Scholes, Giggs, Becks, Keano are not in consideration as they span both 20th and 21st centuries.
Spot on. I could never understand that line of thought.

Well, the others spent their peak years here. I don't know why you're missing this point. Ronaldo was good here but we didn't see the best of him here. If Keane, Rooney, Vidic, Evra and the likes left before reaching their peak, I won't rank them so high.
The point is why will you judge Ronaldo by his Madrid performance when we are talking about his impact at United. You are basically saying if Ronaldo had flopped at Madrid, you will rate his performance at United higher. This is like an Aberdeen fan saying Ferguson is not a legend or great at the club because he reached an higher level at United.

Rashford's best did not come with trophies and was not good enough compared to other players at the time. It's like Kane and his goals for Spurs, even though he was very prolific, people just won't rate him highly enough when he retires but Spurs fans will.

Back to United, Evra was one of the best LBs in the world while he was here same as Ferdinand. Park was the engine room of the team so, I rate them highly based on that. It's like saying Forlan is a United great because of the career he went on to have after leaving the club. Don't get me wrong, Ronaldo had aa great 3 years here but for me, I won't put him above the likes of Rio, Evra, Vidic when ranking our greatest ever players.
This post doesn't even follow your logic. Was Ronaldo not one of the best players in the world at United? Was Ronaldo peak form and performance not greater than Rio, Evra and Park own? Park was not even a guaranteed starter in most of his career at United. You wanted to use longevity until you found out Ronaldo spent similar years as Evra, Park , Vidic etc. No one is talking about his career at Madrid so your Forlan example and career he went on to have after leaving United angle doesn't even follow.

Are You sure you understood my point?
I’m talking about Goals/Individual statistics not Points or league finish/standing. If being top scorer in a club or even the league equates to earning more points for your club or your club winning the league, Then Tottenham would have won the league everytime Harry Kane finished top scorer. So I repeat, a “Player” scoring 21 goals in one match and another “player” scoring 1 goal each every match in 21 matches na the same thing as long as the Top scorer standings is concerned, It will show that both players scored 21 goals all season. You and Capital are saying he scored 5 in one match, 3 in another like it’s some bad thing like he didn’t also score 13 more and ended up with the Golden Boot. Berbatov was never a flop at Man United, If He was then all the strikers we’ve had since then bar RVP have all been complete and utter garbage.
Capital went into details about his golden boot award to show you how inconsistent he was and to add context. Please we are adults here so we should argue and comprehend as such. A player that scored 21 goals in one game and went blank for the rest 20 will not be rated on the same level as a player who scored 1 goal each in 21 straight matches in terms of impact and performance. You know this but will continue to argue for the sake of it. Berbatov was just ok and that's it.

Ronaldo had 1 great season here and 2 very good seasons before he left. He was entering his peak when he left for Madrid compared to those players who played their best football at United. You might not agree but this is the perspective I'm looking at.
That perspective is very wrong. Those great and good season you mentioned trumps whatever best football Evra and Park served at United. You judge players by their career peak at a club. If Rashford stayed at United till 30 then leave to a mid table club would you rate him over Ronaldo because he played his best football at United.

Wait what? He won the golden boot and you say he was aided by 5 and 3 goals respectively against Blackburn and Liverpool, so what else is supposed to aid a player to winning the golden boot? Shots off targets and Assists? I honestly don’t get what you mean. He literally did what he was supposed to do to win the golden boot which was score goals, 5 in a match, 3 in a match, 1 in a match are all goals, a player scores 21 goals in one match and another scores 1 goal every match in 21 matches played. They are literally the same thing at the end of the day. Na 21 goals them score stop.
How exactly are they the same? 21goals in one match gives you 3 points. Scoring 1 goal in every match in 21matches played gives you at least 10 to 20points. You are basically starting every game 1 nil up already. Is 4goals in a single group stage game vs a goal per game in the Round of 16, quarter, semi and final the same
level of impact?

Ronaldo is rated for the career he had after he left and not necessarily for his impact here because I won't rate him above Keane, Ferdinand, Evra, Park etc. I won't rate Rashford above Berbatov, Solskjaer and Fletcher...
Ronaldo spent 7 seasons at United. Evra spent 8 seasons. Park did 7 seasons like Ronaldo. Keane did 4 seasons going by the 21st century timeline. What impact did those players have here that trumps Ronaldo?

He is actually right. Berbatov was very inconsistent in the 2nd half of that season that Ferguson decided to drop him for the champions league final. Yes, EPL golden boot winner was dropped from the entire squad for a champions league final. Half of his goals that season came in three matches against Blackburn (5), Newcastle (3), and I think Liverpool (3) or something. Infact the berbatov signing was not an upgrade. We should have kept Tevez by all means.

You think it's a win for England? Rodri won it because he is a Spanish player and Spain won the Euros. No other Madrid or Barca Spanish player had the pr and big name. He won it due to his Spanish connection. If Barca had won the league last season Yamal would have win it as well. Anyone that thinks Spanish clubs and players are not favoured for awards like this is fooling himself. I see someone saying this proves you don't need to go to Madrid or Barcelona to win the Balon dor lol.

I think Mourihno popularised the 4-3-3 in the PL - it was a paradigm shift from the default 4-4-2 those days
Mourinho never used 4-3-3 and most of the top clubs are currently using a version of 3 center backs. City, Arsenal, Inter, Leverkusen etc

England played at 2 euros finals and we didn’t see Harry Kane o

These things do happens abeg ,if we check well Haaland don score against all epl big boys within 2 seasons
Harry Kane is a certified multiple plantinum ghoster in big games. It's a common theme with Haaland at City. When he mets an opponent with a mean defense he ghosts or when the occasion gets serious. 10 finals and semi finals appearances for City: 0 goal and 0 assist compare that terrible record to someone like Vini who has 7 goals and 5 assists in 11 finals alone for Madrid. This is not downplaying his ability but he needs to show up more in the biggest games and against the teams with the best defense. Right now he is more of a flat track bully pumping hatricks against Ipswich and Fulham.

There's nothing stale in pointing out the fact that Haaland ghosts against any competent defense. He was invisible against Inter yesterday and will likely remain the same against Arsenal then statpad against the likes of Fulham and Slovan.

An old aguero had 20 plus league goals back to back to back under Pep. A wasteful Sterling was getting 17, 18 and 20. If Haaland fail to get 20 plus league goals playing for City then he has failed.

Why didn't aguero and Gabriel jesus do such?
Aguero was old and still scored 20plus league goals under Pep thrice. A striker with the amount of chances and domination city have should be getting 20 league goals minimum. Raheem sterling that was wasteful in front of goal was getting 17, 18 and 20 under Pep. Playing for city in England is amplifying Haaland numbers which doesn't take anything from his ability.

There are so many factually false statements in this post one would think the writer is a bot.

1. Ugarte was not signed on deadline day. It’s not even deadline day yet!

2. INEOS didn’t chase Ugarte for 3 weeks, personal terms were AGREED 5 weeks ago!

3. The transfer took this long because PSG didn’t want to let him go even though their coach doesn’t fancy him.

4. PSG wanted 60m all front for him at first - the price at which they bought him! Utd got him for 50m, with the rest in add ons.

FYI, a 60m transfer fee IS NOT the same as 50m + 10m in add ons! Based on the specified conditions, the add ons may never be paid out!!

Antony Martial’s fee to United was an initial 36 m PLUS 26m in add ons! One of the conditions for the add ons to be paid was if he won the ballon d’or. Since he didn’t get remotely close to it, did United shell out the whole 26m? No!

Only the 36m was guaranteed, the rest of the money (add on) were subject to several conditions.

Likewise, Ugarte was signed for 50m Euros! The remaining 10m may not even be paid unless some terms are met!

5. So, United did not “chase Ugarte” for 3 weeks only to pay what PSG asked for in the first place!!!

Mind you, these transfer dealings were carried out by INEOS- Ashworth, Wilcox, Berrada, and a few others. Little to do with Erik! This is not, by any means, a justification for poor performances on the pitch. His work is cut out for him and he has no more excuses this season.

What irks me is the blatant misinformation campaign.

JUST GET YOUR FRIGGIN FACTS RIGHT BEFORE SPEWING AGENDA TRASH!!

United is not about the coach alone. There are some people at the top who, unlike ETH, actually seem to know what they’re doing! Running an agenda to malign their impressive work rubs off the wrong way!
* Deadline is today

* How many games have ugarte played for united? how many training sessions has he had? The boy has not even been officially announced. What good is agreeing personal terms 5 weeks ago when you didn get the player till 2 days to deadline.

* add ons will likely be related to game time, appearance and maybe major trophies which i doubt Psg will include considering our current predicament. If eventually we dont pay those add ons that means the player flopped and we didnt win any trophy which means we still lose.Trying to seperate those add ons already means you are preparing for the worst.
