Dear whoever took my phone,
I hope you’re enjoying your new cell phone! Don’t be in too big of a hurry to sell it off, because it actually has more value than meets the eye. I’d say the most valuable part about it is the thousands of photographs with my friends an family I’d taken. Or, maybe it’s the electronic chemistry flash cards, that I made so I could get an A on the test. Perhaps, it’s the voice memo recorder you’ll enjoy the most, with my homework assignment that’s due tomorrow logged on it.
If you’ve already sold it to someone else, that’s too bad. After all, you have missed out on the opportunity to use my chemistry flashcards to learn the most common ions! I do hope that you were able to get a pretty penny for it, because I can only hope that a great deal you get off of my phone will prevent you from taking someone else’s.
I’ll admit that you outsmarted me. You outsmarted me because you took my phone so soon after I’d left my house for work in the early hour of salah day in my creek in lagos. You outsmarted me because I was naïve. After I couldn’t find my phone that monday, I went home with hope that the phone was lost, but not stolen. Of course, that hope was crushed after I tracked the call log online and saw that you had called your friend. You outsmarted me because I was lazy, deciding to not put a passcode on my phone. You outsmarted me because I made it way too easy for you.
You probably think you took the better end of this bargain, but I’ve taken the most from this experience. I’ve learned that no matter how lazy I may feel, it’s still important to keep a password on my phone. I’ve learned that I should back up my photographs, because they could all be gone in an instant. And most importantly, I’ve learned that losing my cell phone isn’t the end of the world. That sometimes, unplugging yourself from texts, calls, and mobile social media can actually make you a more relaxed person.
I’ve forgiven you, but karma will come back to bite you. You’ll probably never get caught, at least not for stealing my phone. But deep down in the back of your head, I know you’ve got a conscience. Or at the very least, I can hope that you know that what you’ve done is wrong. Despite the good that you’ve given me through this experience, the ends don’t justify the means.

People who know me well will tell you that the easiest and fastest way to get money out of me is to tell me you're sick. I hate seeing people that helpless. Over the years, I've donated and also used my platform to raise money for several sick people, including Mayowa Ahmed. Early morning on July 28th, I received a call saying the #SaveMayowa campaign was a scam. That the lady was terminally ill and the family had no intentions of using the money raised for her health to treat her as they had no invite from the hospital in Atlanta, neither did she even have a visa to the US. Please continue...


They wanted me to blog it quickly so people could stop donating. I found it hard to believe at first but it was coming from people who were directly involved in raising money for the sick girl. I sent someone to LUTH to investigate, he got there and found chaos. The Police was already involved, people were being questioned, some folks were shouting, he spoke to people in the hospital and many seemed confused. I spoke with those who had called me, and they said 1000%, the whole thing was a scam.

And I sincerely believe that at the time they told me this, they genuinely believed it to be a fact. I don't think it was done maliciously. After they sent me documents showing the hospital in Atlanta was not really involved in Mayowa's treatment and LUTH medical directors denied knowledge of a fund raising for the sick girl, I believed it to also be a fact! And I wrote it. My mistake, I think, was owning the story, I probably should have quoted them. And maybe investigated more. My apologies to the family! The post has since been taken down.

After investing properly, the police found it wasn't a scam, that it was more a miscommunication between the parties helping to raise funds and the girl's family. I spoke about the issue with the Lagos police PPRO and she assured me that the family didn't have bad intentions.

What I am happy about is that; even if the family had had dubious intentions initially, now they can't do any of that, as everyone is now watching. So maybe a good thing came out of the whole chaos.

The happy news is that Mayowa has been flown to South Africa for treatment. She left Nigeria on Thursday August 11th.

May God use her case to show that He is God!

Dave and Clara have been married 4 over nine years without children. They stayed with each other and hoped that they will have a child before their 10th year of marriage because they were being persuaded by family and some friends to get a divorce but they couldn’t let go because of the love between them. Months passed...by and while Dave was returning from work one day, he saw his wife walking down the road with a man and they looked happy. In total confusion, he saw an envelope in her hand. He took it, opened it and was shocked by its content. It was a letter and it reads: ‘’ My loving husband, words cannot express how I feel, so i had to write it down. I have been going to see a doctor for over a week and wanted to be sure before I give you the news. The doctor confirmed it that I am pregnant with a twin and our babies are due in 7 months from now. The doctor also happen to be my long lost brother whom I lost contact with after our marriage. He has promised to take care of me and our babies and give us the best without collecting a dime. He also promised to have dinner with us today. Thanks to you for standing by me...... your loving wife. As the letter fell from Dave’s hand, there was a knock at the door and it was the same man he had seen with his wife... and he said ......’’ hello Dave, I suppose am right, am Max, your wife’s brother.....’’And suddenly he noticed his sister in the pool of her blood .... he rushed her to his hospital but it was too late, his sister, Dave’s wife was gone and so were the twins.. LESSON: In our relationships, which include our marriage, we should not be too quick in reacting when we haven’t questioned our partner or spouse on what we saw or heard about them. Communication, Trust and Patience are rare gifts we can bring to our relationship. Not everything we see or hear or believe is right about them. To everyone reading this, I pray that patience will have her perfect way in you and you will want nothing because patience is that great virtue you need to keep any relationship working.
